Dan's BBQ

BBQ is my favorite food in general. Dan’s bbq is easily comparable to some of the best BBQ joints I’ve had in Oklahoma/Texas. It’s hard to believe that a BBQ place this good exists in Modesto. It’s amazing food and service every time I go. The pulled pork, brisket and hot link is phenomenal. The sides are great too. They even give you a side of Texas toast, pickles and onions just like the do in the south. Dan and the staff are super friendly and the food comes out in a timely matter. I can’t believe I see people giving them 4 stars for lack of indoor dining during the pandemic. Come on, really? This place is easily 5 stars.

If you ever want good food from a friendly family business go here! Best garlic fries, burgers and more! Definitely going back! For the price and two meals grown men with big BBQ appetite!!! You all should definitely try.

One of the best BBQ places in town! It was Amazing When I visited almost 2 years ago and guess what - Flavor is Amazing, atmosphere great and Customer service is excellent! DAN is a down to earth guy and hella nice , still. My kid is one of those picky eaters But he enjoyed his cheeseburger, said it was delicious! Garlic fries are on hit! Brisket sandwich, ribs and fried chicken sandwich was bomb!

I'm not from Modesto, but was driving through and stopped here for dinner. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. The customer service here was excellent and the food was too. I had the tri tip sandwich with garlic fries on the side, both were delicious. We also tried a burger and the ribs, also very good.

The service is excellent. Dan greets you and makes sure you are happy with the service and food. The hamburgers are the best yet :), the macaroni and cheese is to die for, and don't forget to order garlic fries :) I am not one for going out and eating but Dan's BBQ is one place I would go weekly if I were to dine out a lot. It is a must go to spot....

For a rainy day, it was a bit busy. The food was exceptional, the restaurant was extremely clean. Dan was funny and a great host. Mari was a pleasure to see someone take real pride in her work, with a great attitude and a joy to talk to. I can see why the locals have chosen this restaurant as their own. Rain or Shine, we will definitely be back!!!

Dan's BBQ may have the best hamburgers in Modesto! Delicious, hand-made patties. I got the bacon cheeseburger with jalapenos and it was awesome! Fries were good, but the hubby got some loaded mashed potatoes which were the REALLY good. I also tried a rib, which fell off the bone. The location isn't great (Prescott & Rumble), but the food is worth it.

The new owners are the best. The food is amazing, especially the Tri tip sandwich. A really nice family-owned restaraunt and the pops at the front counter always shows personal care in every order. If I could give them 10 star I would!

We ordered Dan’s BBQ for an event we put on for a group of 25 people and I gotta say, AMAZING. Dan delivered the food himself and everyone loved it. The chicken was amazing and everything was better than we were expecting. Definitely recommend this everyone. Thank you so much

The owner allowed us to eat inside. We traveled one hour to try out the food. The customer service was wonderful .The food presentation was thoughtful. The taste was just enough smoke .The meats was soft ,but with a nice bite to it. The sides are great ,but the bbq hot sauce was the best.

It is my job to coordinate lunches provided by Medical Reps and it's hard to please everyone in an office of over 25 people. We're always looking for something other than the norm...pizza, sandwiches, or olive garden. Dan's BBQ EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS BY FAR!!! THANK YOU!!! Rolled up to Dan's today and there were a ton of cars outside. There were about 3 or 4 people waiting for food. We placed our order for the family combo with half tritip and half hot links. For sides we ordered two mac and cheese and one chili beans. The order also comes with sides of Texas toast. It was a ton of food! And their spicy BBQ sauce is so good and adds that extra heat for those who like it spicy! Only had to wait about 15 minutes so not bad at all for the amount of people before us!

Great place. We shared a sampler and I enjoyed the ribs and chicken, my Mom repeatedly said how much she likes the tri-tip and my Dad's favorite are the ribs. Looking forward to going again and trying more of the menu. Definitely recommended.

Delicious BBQ, tried the DUBB burger with tri-tip steak and it was awesome, the garlic fries are outstanding, I will definitely recommend and return to the the ribs and pulled pork DUBB burger combination, this location does not let you dine in nor enter to order so all the ordering is done through a booth that blocks the front door, for my first experience it was different but the food truly made the difference…A+++

#1 Dan's is the best BBQ in Modesto! I come here with my boyfriend at least 3 times a month and we have never been disappointed. The staff is so friendly & we always get great service. The food is so authentic and fresh! The meat has an amazing flavor and cooked perfectly. The bacon is thick and juicy and the buns are lightly toasted, the garlic fries are my favorite; they are so full of flavor and fresh. Everything on the menu is delicious and made fresh. I love how the place is very clean and the atmosphere makes it feel like a home. If I had to choose a last meal... I would order Dan's hands down.

We got a combo plate of three meats: tri-tip, chicken and linguica. Other than the linguica being overcooked, the food tastes great. Meats have lots of flavor and my wife loved the coleslaw (she can be very picky about it). A couple dislikes. First, we ordered coleslaw, chili beans and mac-n-cheese for the sides. When we got home, no chili beans but two macs. Second, the meat portions seemed to be noticeably smaller than before. I know food prices are going up, and I don't want so much I feel nauseated after, but I do want to feel like i get enough to fill me up. Other than that, no complaints. Like I said food tastes great. And very friendly service.

My buddy ordered the Dubb gurger and it was massive and he said was great! I ordered the sampler, hot links, tri-tip, and ribs. Everything was great sides were a salad and onion rings. Also tasty! Due to covid and staffing dine in was not available. But food was still really good and flavorful. Great service and will be back again

Their food is great. I love that the meat patty is flavorful and juicy. Moreover, their garlic fries are the bomb. However, the down side is they aren't opened all the time, which is sucks. In other words, you can't rely that they are opened when your cravings hit you.

The restaurant decor was dingy, dirty, and outdated. The photos on the menu were not the actual photos of what they served. They showed pics of thick cut brisket, but what they actually served was brisket slices lunch meat style that you could almost see through. The price was almost $40 for a 3 meat combo, which included 3 baby back ribs, lunch meat, a hotlink, and two small sides. Definitely not worth the money.

I took my family here for the 1st time today. The customer service is great! The food was just okay. I got the cheeseburger and fries and the burger was a good size just kind of hoped I got a lil more fries but it's cool. My wife got the ribs combo and when we got it we were a lil upset about the quality of them. You get only 3 and they're not the biggest size. She did enjoy the mashed potatoes and the Texas toast. The one thing that really upset me though was the soda fountains were down. Sorry just a big deal for me, when I go out to eat I expect to have an ice cold Coke. Doubt we will be coming back, the price of the food and quality and lack of fountain drinks we can go somewhere like Texas Roadhouse.

Chili beans were awesome, packaging and presentation were great. But then i got to the ribs and i wanted to cry. I felt like they were boiled and then baked. Never saw a barbecue in their life. No smoke flavor, no char, meat sure as hell didn't fall off the bone. Drove all the way across town to try a new place because of the good reviews on Google but i was let down.

Food was not good. Oily fry dry and taste old everything was deep fried and it seem like they really need to change the oil on their deep fryer won't be going back sorry.

Just move your equipment out and give the space to a business that actually wants to operate. You are never open- it's been months now with a sign up, never ending excuses. I thought your two star BBQ was better than no barbecue at all but now I wish you would just give up the space to another eatery that will actually open the doors

Love their burgers, Fry's, onion rings and Mac n cheese! Great place! This use to be my review. Years later went back to try. What happened? I picked up food for my family and the food was not great. So much bbq sauce to cover up the meat. Meat needed flavor. Fries are fries. I had to change my review. Also the cost of food for so little food? What happened to Dan's bbq?
