Dinner featuring a platter of local cheeses, two appetizers, two desserts, a half bottle of wine, a bottle of water, and two coffees, all for €69. The setting boasts a terrace with room for a handful of tables, background music, and fairy lights to create ambiance. There were two of us with two dogs, who were also brought a bowl of fresh water.

We arrived in town intrigued by the castle but without booking anything for lunch. By pure chance, we saw this osteria and found a table: _very young and very friendly staff _ practically new place with a fantastic terrace _abundant and very good food _excellent value for money! _Recommended!!!

Lovely quaint restaurant in the quaint town of Monastero Bormida. We had the whole outdoor terrace to ourselves which was a real bonus. Friendly staff, good food and wine, fresh gelato and you can also buy local cheese.

Best place to eat in the area. They will accommodate most requests. Just remember a translator app as the English is not as common.

Cucina semplice e buona. Accoglienza calorosa. Si mangi in una bella terrazza con vista sulla chiesa e sulle colline.

In una serata dove veniva servita la Bagna Cauda per il "Bagna Cauda day", ho chiesto di avere un menu tradizionale e sono stato accontentato. La sala principale era piuttosto rumorosa viste le lunghe tavolate dei commensali, ma questo non mi ha disturbato anche perchè ho scelto io un tavolo in quella parte di locale così festoso e partecipato. Ho comunque deciso di fare un assaggio della Bagna Cauda stesa sui peperoni al forno, poi un delizioso piatto di agnolotti del plin con sugo di salsiccia e scaglie di Roccaverano. Infine le bistecchine di coniglio con verdure. Ho poi chiesto una porzione di Bagna Cauda da asporto per farla assaggiare in famiglia il giorno dopo. Servizio molto attento e cordiale. Grazie !

Everything was almost perfect: excellent food, friendly service, fair prices... the only flaw was the cheese board, which costs more than a first course, but is essentially a small sampling of the cheeses and doesn't justify the higher price compared to the main courses. Increase the amount of cheese and you're perfect!

Sunday evening, a quick restorative dinner with my partner after the very long walk of the Giro delle 5 Torri, which ended late. We were lucky to find a table, given that this lovely place in the center of town is quite small. They have a nice à la carte menu, but we were in a hurry, so the two of us only had a Margherita, a portion of peppers with bagna cauda and focaccia, a tiramisu, a beer, and a bottle of water. My pizza, cooked in a wood-fired oven, was good and well-topped, perhaps with a little less salt in the dough. The final bill was €24.50, with a cover charge of €1.50 per person. Overall, the prices were anything but expensive, and the service was very friendly and fast, just what we needed given the long journey home that awaited us.

We had lunch on a Sunday, so it was packed and we had to wait a bit, but we had a good meal. The appetizers were plentiful, but the first courses weren't that great. The prices, however, were fair. Appetizers cost €9 and there's a lot to choose from, while first courses were even €9. The desserts were good.

We were there last night, a former osteria for those with a sweet tooth, now "the caveau." Young, novices focus heavily on the pizza, but we chose the excellent €27 menu with four appetizers, a first course, a second course, water, wine, dessert, and coffee. The food is good because the ingredients are there, but there are a few things missing: the Albese lacked salt, pepper, the pumpkin pie could have benefited from a fondue to offset the sweetness of the vegetables, the pasta with ragù needed much more sauce, and the milk-cured meat lacked tenderness and flavor. In short, untapped potential. I'd love to return and see some young people taking charge and willing to take risks. It was an osteria and has the soul of an osteria, focus on that and then on the pizza. Good luck!

Normal. We took the tasting menu consisting of 4 samples, a first course tajarin with rabbit sauce, a second course breaded rabbit steaks with side dish, cheese samples. Dessert, coffee, water and service included. Cost €27 per menu.
