Hidden gem in Montauk
Really a hidden gem!
Hidden gem in Montauk!
Muchas gracias!!!!!!!
Really good quality food, and reasonably priced. The fries are lovely, clearly home made and well cooked. Slider was perfect as were the tacos! Can’t fault it! Good view of the bay too!
Super pleasant dinner on a perfect night overlooking the harbor. Great menu with something for everyone- tuna sashimi, baked clams were great! Loved the tilefish fried and in tacos, great burger & fries - service by Sarah and the team was flawless - we will definitely return -
This place is amazing ! All the employees are so friendly and generous. Music is good, sunset is lovely, and the food is EXCELLENT. Every dish we tried is perfect (especially the smoked fish dip, the soft shell crab tacos, and the fish and chips!). A hidden gem 💎💎
We had a lovely lunch here! We brought our pup and they were more than accommodating, even offered to bring him water. The food was delicious. The service was attentive. Beautiful view of the marina. We will definitely be back!
I've been eating out often in Montauk since 1978! This new cafe at a well established location/marina has always had good if not great restaurants and Gin Beach Cafe is no exception. We had a great late evening meal with excellent service. The setting is wonderful and when coupled with good food and drink... you can't beat it. I highly recommend this Cafe.
Great food, big menu, fresh fish! Amazing location right on the water over the marina. Had a fabulous lunch and would definitely go back for dinner and sunset
Great atmosphere and food. Ordered crab cakes, Long Island clam chowder (best I ever had) and Baja Street Tacos...all fantastic. All that with a great view. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back.
Awesome food and views. Service is also great and very friendly
Dockside restaurant, serving fresh seafood, as well as whatever you catch. They will cook your catch. The fries are amazing, as was the lobster roll and ahi tuna wrap.
The atmosphere is amazing here. Views are beautiful and most importantly the food is so fresh. I have had several dishes here and they are all outstanding. A must try.
Food is insanely good!! Views are beautiful. Off the beaten Montauk track but worth the 10 minute drive. I dont believe you can get a better meal in Montauk.
Food is delicious, and I'm not a big seafood eater. So fresh, great seasoning, and the atmosphere can't be beat! Must try!
A hidden gem. Tuna sashimi so good. Great Bloody Mary. Fish tacos with fresh cod just yummy.
Perfect spot. Bartender was awesome. Food was great. Ambience is perfect. Little bit of live music at times. Just love it.
Fresh local seafood! Relaxed atmosphere and nice views of the marina. Lobster roll was excellent and sizable! Great spot for lunch
This new restaurant in this location had it's recipes down and creates great food. The hard liquor license was not in place yet when we stopped in and picked up a great lunch to go. Soft shell crab taco and tuna taco were perfect. The tile fish wrap tasted amazing - as a take out, the sauce in the wrap made the tortilla very soggy.
Food was unbelievable! The crunchy tuna wrap is the best wrap I have ever had! The tuna was cooked to perfection, the wasabi balance was great and the crunchy spinach was so cold. French fries were delicious and made in house and the smoked fish dip was unreal. Will be coming back soon.
Gin Beach Cafe has been on my Montauk itinerary every year since it opened. Unbeatable scenery and ambiance, while being tucked away from the chaos of downtown. The food is great, and about average pricing for Montauk. Service can sometimes take a little while, but just soak in the view or take photos by the dock and it’s not a problem!
This place is a hidden gem. Food was delicious, service great, and the view, though cloudy, amazing. We had a fab time, and will be back.

Great location. Food and service were excellent
First time at Gin Beach Cafe. The atmosphere is lovely, what a beautiful view of the bay. We went for lunch and had wonderful meals. The smoked fish dip was excellent as well as the firecracker shrimp. I had the blackened shrimp tacos which were delicious. Will definitely add this to our favorite Montauk restaurants list!
Great waterfront restaurant, cozy deck setting, Heath was a great host..Seafood was fresh, delicious and reasonably priced.. Beautiful sunset was a pleasant surprise..
Food was good, service was good, drinks were good and sunset view was FANTASTIC. This is a must stop if you are in the area. We had the blackened cod sandwhich and fish tacos, new england clam showder, crispy onion rings, and Pina Coladas. Our server was friendly and gave us good advice about seeing the sunset.
Great food and excellent service with a beautiful sunset view over the boats and yachts. Perfect Montauk spot
There are not enough words to describe how happy we were to host our son & “daughter’s” rehearsal dinner at Gin Beach last week! From our first meeting with owner, Amy, we were 100% sure we were in good hands! Even on a rainy night, the view and the atmosphere were exactly what we hoped for! The food & drinks, from cocktail hour on, were amazing! Everyone particularly enjoyed the baked clams! The portions were more than enough. What made it even more memorable was the service. Paulie, Jamie & Amy were top notch…attentive, accommodating and as friendly as can be. There is not one thing I would change or one complaint to be had. Simply the best place to kick off our highly anticipated wedding weekend! This was our first time in Montauk and Gin Beach Cafe has us looking forward to future visits! Thank you so much to Amy and her crew for such a wonderful evening!!
Hidden Gem. Relaxed Atmosphere! Service exceptional. Everything was delicious and wonderful with Beautiful sunset view of the harbor. But you’re here for the food. So , the staff is very inviting, friendly and helpful. Being my 1st visit I had to ask the waitress for some assistance. I ended up ordering the Pan Seared Tile Fish with Ratatouille and wild rice. Fabulous! The fish was fresh, hot with I nice seared crust. the ratatouille and wild rice nice and flavorful. I enjoyed the meal in leisure manner and finished off with an amazing slice of tiramisu complemented by a nice house red wine. I will be back for sure. Thank you Gin Beach Cafe Staff.
It’s a great spot for Montauk food aficionado‘s and has it all: food on the water, sunset views and for the fisherman, they have a hook and cook where they will make you a meal out of your fresh caught catch. Try their fish franchise. It’s a hit.
Love love love this place! Went here for lunch- for a mix of New England clam chowder, manhattan chowder and lobster rolls. All delicious and fresh. Then went for dinner- where the owner was so hospitable, nice and accommodating! We LOVE this place! Best sea food pasta I’ve ever had. Located on the inlet across from Montauk yacht club and had plenty of parking, indoor/outdoor seating.

Had a wonderful lunch recently with great burger, tacos and more. Some of the best water views in Montauk
Very nice place to grab a quick lunch . Nothing bad to say about this wonderful cafe !
Excellent fish tacos
Service was great and food was a+
Spectacular view, beautiful food and drink presentation, friendly service, awesome lobster roll and onion rings. Family friendly, great place.
Food was great, right by the marina and the service was good. We got the fire cracker shrimp 🦐, lobster salad taco and seafood pasta. For drinks, we had a watermelon 🍉 martini and a Pina colada 🥥. 4-stars because women's restroom 🚺 tissues were not stocked. They also have a corn hole game and ample outdoor seating. Overall a pleasant experience.

Gin Beach Cafe was a great surprise — sipping a cocktail by the marina with the sun starting to dip and a plate of crispy calamari made for the perfect happy hour vibe. Chill atmosphere, solid drinks, and that salty breeze sealed it.
Waitress pleasant, didn't have reservations on sun nite but seated within 10 min for group of 5. Food good. Reasonable prices. Beautiful sunset. Live band in back by picnic tables but far enough away from regular tables(shaded) so you can have conversations.

Confusing entrance and food was just ok. Service seemed very overwhelmed.
Pleasant off season experience. Great harbor views.
This was our second year coming and I was as unimpressed as last year. The food was fine-I don't know if it is $200+ good for a family of four, but I expect that in Montauk. We made reservation for a group of 11 a week ago and confirmed it several days. But as mentioned in previous post, the service is rough!!! The employees are nice but there is not enough of them. We were frequently told they only have “one person in the kitchen”. Food was not brought out together. At one point everyone got their meals but myself and six year old daughter. Eventually my chicken showed up but not my daughters chicken fingers (which I would think would be the easiest ti make). Our server didnt return for a long time so it finally took someone in our party shouting “excuse me!!” At a bartender walking by to get help. We had to stop someone twice and just got attitude. My daughters meal finally showed up when some of our party was finishing their meal. I had ordered a side with my entree and it never came. I ordered another beverage…it never came. I honestly would not have tipped 20% except it was already on our bill because of party size. I used to be a server, so I get it!! But it was horrible service!! I was so irritated by the time my chicken came, I didnt even want it. They were aware our large party was coming and they were not prepared. The best part of the meal is the boats and view. I will not be coming back to spend $200 on okay food and poor service.

Place has a great view. Food was nothing to brag about. Pasta sauce was bland. Drinks were wayyyy over priced and made horrible. I ordered a frozen Margarita. The sour mix in it was def old and there was no alcohol in it. Husband ordered an old fashioned and the measurements were also terrible. For drinks that were $20 EACH, I’d expect it to taste good. Place has potential but lot of improvements need to be made, especially with training the bartenders.
I was SO hungry when I ended up at this place and was happily surprised to find they had an Octoberfest menu. I'm from Queens. I know German food. I eagerly ordered the sauerbraten but it turned out to be tough as leather, in a really bad and hard-to-eat sauce, with potato balls that I couldn't eat. They had a most unnatural texture and tasted like chemicals; I couldn't even figure out how someone did this. I never waste food but today I left most of it on the plate and literally couldn't get myself to eat much of it. with a coke and tip, $42 down the drain. Also, the server seemed to be wearing a cologne that turned my stomach when combined with all this. :(
Service was terrible. Food orders came out incorrect, impossible to get a server to help rectify it. Lobster roll tasted sour. Do not waste your time unless you like poor service and mediocre food.
Table of 6 Asked us to order Appetizers And entries at the same time Ofcourse 4 Appetizers And 6 dinners came at at the same time 10 dishes hit the table at the same time We complained , bad attitude from waitress and manager. Also food runner came to our table 3 times with wrong food. And bill was incorrect. Manager can't handle a busy night, no customer service. His response was" WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT" Typical unprofessional meltdown From manager Owner needs to get involved
Service was OK. The waitress was very nice, but she was the only one there and overwhelmed. Food was very mediocre. Undercooked chicken and the guacamole is not house made. $40 lobster roll with barely any lobster. Very pricey (as to be expected in Montauk) but for what was served not worth the visit at all.

Extremely slow food service, especially since it wasn't busy. Meals below average, one fish taco was raw and sent back. Look elsewhere
Had reservation for a large party which was confirmed ahead of time, understanding they are not a large establishment. Apparently they did not plan properly and were unable to seat us. Instead of apologizing and being honest we were sent to bar for $17 drinks and said would be a few minutes. More than an hour later we asked status, and were rudely told we may be able to start seating you separately or we could eat half standing around a bar table which did not fit our party and walked away mid sentence. Another family was then asked to move because we were complaining. Claimed never asked family to move, hard to believe after the other party approached us regarding. Looking to get status on our table after an hour is not complaining, we had a reservation and they did not communicate situation. Mistakes happen but rudeness, non communication and causing additional chaos among patrons is unacceptable. Unprofessional, and incapable of managing.
Ordered out from here tonight. Food was just okay. The issue is my wife’s taco and French Fries both had an multiple pieces of hair in it, which to me is excessive. It was gross! I don’t think I would order out from here ever again. Don’t be fooled by the reviews.
Was the worst experience ever. Arrived for our reservation -12 people. They were unable to accommodate us after making us wait 1 1/2 hours even though we had made the reservation. Very rude manager and bar tender. These people are way out of their league and don't know how to run a restaurant. Clearly very unprepared. Poor 16 yr.old new hostess getting yelled at because people running it that night don't know what they are doing. Even told another patron we wanted them to move which was completely untrue. We were actually approached by the other patron while we were waiting. Than the manager told me the patron was lying. Really very upsetting. We took our business else where.
Barely write reviews but people need to hear this one. Hands down worst dinner experience ever! The fault of mine was entering with an empty stomach. When ordering the waitress said that everything will be ordered at once however, two entrées came out with the appetizers and then the rest of the main entrees took 30+ minutes. When asked about it, they said that the two entrees came in as appetizers, which is confusing because one of the dishes was a whole fish with potatoes. Additionally, they mixed up one of the sides and completely forgot about the other.
