This is hands-down my favorite bar in town. The atmosphere is always welcoming, the staff is super friendly, and the drinks are consistently top-notch. Whether you’re looking for a chill night out or a spot to catch up with friends, this place never disappoints. The music, lighting, and overall vibe just make you want to stay all night. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area especially if you love FREE POOL. Plus i would say a Peach Martini or a Grand Love is a must try!

We came in for a snack after the pride parade and the cheese board and drinks were beautiful. The staff were so accommodating. Everyone working during and after the pride parade deserves a raise!

This place is such a gem. We used to go to Webster wine bar in Lincoln Park before it closed. We missed the warm, dim lit atmosphere with comfortable seating. Barrel cheese and wine bar is my new place. I need to boast about the cute velvet lounge chairs at the bar and seating tables. Leather couches and pillows to give it warmth and coziness. The dim lit atmosphere makes it a perfect destination for a date nite or a nice evening with friends. Everyone that works there made us feel welcomed. They went above and beyond for us and were so pleasant. I’d go back and just have a glass of Pinot and read a book. 😁Love this place and location is easy to get to. Another great fact is that it stays open longer than any other wine bars I know of. Thanks for bringing a great wine bar to the neighborhood! Cheers! 🍷

This is the best place to organize a private event in Chicago! I recently organized my husband’s 40th surprise birthday party and I’m so glad I found Barrel Cheese and Wine because everything went so smoothly and we all had a blast! The owner Ahmed was always super responsive and accomodating throughout the planning. They have an entire floor upstairs equipped with a bar, bluetooth speakers and plenty of leather couches and high tops tables for people to sit and mingle. We had no time limits and no crazy fees like a lot of other places. All my guests complimented me for founding such a great place! We didn’t order the food from them so I cannot comment on that but it is an option. We ended up catering and they still have us plates, cutlery and glasses (which not everyone will offer especially if you order food elsewhere). The owner and all the staff are such a nice people and would do anything to make sure you are happy! Overall I would strongly recommend Barrel Cheese and Wine for private events!

I wanted to share about a delightful spot a friend and I happened upon this past weekend. What a charming, elevated, and enjoyable place! Barrel offers reasonable prices, quality drinks, yummy charcuterie, talented live music, and sultry decor. The service was also top tier with knowledgable recommendations and personable attention! This place is an incredible spot to meet up with friends, take visitors, and is sure to be a guaranteed win for date night. I will be taking more people here, without a doubt! Their patio is also dog friendly. My only regret is I wish I would have stopped in sooner. I must’ve walked by a hundred times but it took their folding doors being opened to the sidewalk for us to stop in. I must’ve been living under a rock to miss this gem! I know I’m not the first or only person to ‘discover’ this place, but I sure am glad sidewalk serendipity led to one of the most pleasant evenings! Enjoy!

Amazing food, cocktails are great and the owners are incredible! Mehmed made us the best cocktails! Definitely a must in the area! Plus the place is beautiful and the music is very good!

Barrel wine and cheese is our new favorite spot in Lakeview/Lincoln park!! The cheese board and wine are of the best quality and reasonably priced plus the service is amazing. The owner is very passionate and attentive to detail. The fresh baklava (direct from Turkey) was definitely the highlight! They are also opening up an additional floor just in time for the cold months. Will definitely be back.

Loved the cozy and intimate vibe of this place. I had been eyeing the spicy cucumber margarita from their menu and it did not disappoint. We were celebrating a recent engagement and birthday and our waitress (Rosario) treated us to some amazing baklava (before she even knew we were celebrating)!! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Great wine selection, very friendly staff. The food was okay (we had muhammara and the breads were underwhelming compared to the main portion and the wines). It's a darker room, gives it a cool vibe for sure. Seating was very comfortable.

This was a fun, new place I had never been before. It wasn’t very crowded, so I was able to sit down right away on the couch in front of the fireplace. There was a good wine selection, and also a bunch of cocktails. I got some Prosecco, which was tasty.

Good pre dinner place. Their charcuterie board is great. The drinks are good, but overpriced. The atmosphere is great. They even had a violinist playing! I got a drink that came with a side of ice cream, but the ice cream was an entire magnum bar.
