Breeze Restaurant at The Nantucket Hotel

The bartender Carlos and the restaurant manager John were so fun and friendly. They encompass the island vibes and served us with amazing drinks and even better stories.

Everything we ate from the salads for appetizers to the main course dishes and sides were delicious. We were a table of seven and got a good sampler of the menu. We had the salmon, pasta,, chicken, and swordfish. The outdoor seating was wonderful.

Had lunch by the pool and everything was great. The food is pricey, but very fresh and good quality. Wish there were brunch options during the week though! Loved sitting on the front porch of the inn and just relaxing, too.

Spent two weeks on Nantucket and this was my top favorite restaurant. Excellent meat (especially the grilled pork chop), creative use of vegetables. Clam chowder is top notch best on the island. Suggestion for improvement: Cocktails were too sweet.

Breeze is a relaxing place to eat, and also to have an event. I was here for a conference, and the food they provided was excellent. We were well taken care of. Also, their clam chowder is the best I’ve had, I’ve been having it every day!

Had Breakfast yesterday on a whim. The omellet was amazing. Frederick really made our meal. He was so welcoming and really made sure we were well taken care of. Next time I'm in Nantucket I will stay at the hotel

The waiter was great. Beautiful restaurant. I had the scallops ,very delicious with complex and interesting flavors. My husband had the swordfish, he loved it.

No matter what you order, you have to get the truffle fries. They were on a level I’ve never had before. Everything we had was great but those fries alone are worth another trip back.

I had the continental breakfast here and I also had a lunch where I ate a brisket quesadilla. I thought food was very good. I liked the atmosphere and the staff were friendly.

We stepped in for an after-dinner drink and ended getting oysters as well. The oysters were from just a few miles away and were excellent--solid shuck. The drinks were very good. But the real highlight was Paula the barkeep who was VERY funny, personable, and made the whole experience exceptional. This is a classic hotel bar and restaurant adjacent to an events space.

Excellent clam bake here on a Thursday!! The staff was so accommodating and friendly! Lobsters cooked perfectly. Live music & kid friendly!

We ate on the hotel Porch. Very good service. We both had the wedge salad and fish of the day. Striped Bass. Salad had multiple ingredants, it was robust (very good size and just the right amount dressing. Striped bass is a great eating fish but must be cooked just right. The Chef cooked it perfectly. With a very nice sweet red pepper sauce that did NOT overwhelm the subtle flavor of the fish. Key lime tart for desert. I rate the cooking five star. Service was very good

Our food was excellent. Salmon, scallops and halibut for our main course. The highlight of our dining experience at Breeze was our waiter. 22 years old and as good as any 'seasoned' waiter we've ever had. Personable, engaging and knowledgeable. Also quite mature. Service like this elevates not only the enjoyment of good food, but the entire dining experience. The restaurant itself is also quite beautiful. We will be back!

We have eaten at Breeze several times the past couple years. Most recently dinner and lunch under the new chef. Food was excellent and the service was absolutely special. The roast chicken and the wok fried greens were highlights. Definitely try one of the cocktails on the list. Special shout out to our server Wayne and bartender Rosalie - welcoming, kind and professional. Making Breeze just lovely.

Carlos the bartender was a charming, sincere and entertaining story teller!!! He and John the manager Absolutely made our night!!! Such a great wrap up to our time in Nantucket! A lot of the servers we encountered on our trip were tired and burnt out :/ Not these guys!!!! They were refreshing and so much fun!!!!!

Good food, reservations are recommended but you will get there and no one will be there. Lots of hotel guests walking thru the tables makes it not so classy and not appropriate. As anywhere expect 20$ ea drinks. Also went to new years dinner, a big letdown, see pics of food ...smaller portions and not same quality as if you went during normal business times. They did make things right with us and was much appreciated.

Quiet and nice ambiance with delicious food and ok drinks , just needs better sitting, chairs were uncomfortable for a relaxing meal, but other than that is great restaurant.

As locals we have dined here many times over the years and have had good and not so good meals depending on who the chef in residence was. Last night we had the best meal we have ever had there! The inside bar/dining area space has almost finished undergoing a makeover and it feels like it has an understated but cool vibe going on. Appreciated the fine rimmed glassware and eclectic dinnerware. Our meal started with freshly baked focaccia with delicious butter and olive oil. Shishito Peppers in Yuzu sauce were so good! Harvest Salad with grilled chicken was light and bright! And the short rib burger was decadent and everything I needed it to be. Our waiter Frederick has been with the hotel for many years and he is perfectly attentive, polished and professional and elevates the dinner experience to the next level every time. We look forward to our next meal at The Breeze !

Awesome ambience, middling cocktails, amazing food

Nice spot in a fancy Nantucket hotel. Great service and atmosphere - food was a bit underwhelming however. We got the blue cesar, sea scallops, and pork chop

Service was awful . Our server was not attentive for the entire experience. A young blonde girl who was assisting wait staff brought us drink refills and bread for the table. Disappointing dining experience. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because some of the dishes were good. Scallop Tostada appetizer was delicious . The scallops were cooked perfectly and came with a mango salsa. Clam chowder was terrible. It should be listed as clam broth. It barely had any clams in it and only a few potatoes. Miso Salmon came with rice and bok choy . This entree was really good . Steak frites with a lobster tail added. Steak was cooked to medium rare and there was a good portion of meat. The menu stated that it was $24 to add a lobster tail but when the bill came there was an uo charge to $29. I don’t mind paying for the add on item to my meal but the menu should reflect the correct prices. Overall, it was a mediocre dinner which again was disappointing for an establishment of this nature.

Underwhelming. Dessert was a waste of calories and money. French onion soup was delicious.

Recently dined for lunch. Service was fine but as restaurant got busier the service just fell off. After finally getting coffee after dinner, had to wait another 15 minutes for cream. Desserts were slow to come and missing an order. Also, for a 46 dollar lobster roll the amount of lobster in the crevice of the roll was ridiculously meager. Never saw a lobster roll with so little lobster. All entree sizes were small. The burger was the best entree at our table of 5. Beautiful atmosphere , but for service and overall experience I’d try another place. Very disappointing.

We booked the traditional New England clambake on a Monday evening. It was expensive but we thought it would be a fun atmosphere and good food. The food was buffet style (buffet style food can be soggy and cooked for a large number of people so not as tasty). It was pricey for the quality of food. We were placed in a large tent (the music was in the other room) so no atmosphere to foster the “traditional” clambake feeling. For the $450 price for two adult (1 lobster) meals and 1 child’s meal it was not worth the price for the lower quality food and atmosphere.

The GOOD: - Scallops - Pork Chop - Some staff were nice, but some staff were eh The BAD: - Roasted Beet salad literally just 6 small pieces of beet. Flavor was okay but the other salads looked much better - Garganelli Pasta- looked a lil better added with a protein but very bland as is and very small portion of vegetable. Especially disappointing bc it's their only vegetarian option - Overpriced bc it's part of the hotel?? Not sure why prices are like this when equal or better quality food is available at lower prices points all around town - Booked for outdoor seating for a large party, forecast was a little sketchy in morning so they called to see if we would be okay moving to the porch. We got there it was beautiful out and all the forecasts changed to looking very good, but they still insisted the outdoor area would be closed, and then they told us that our party would be split into two tables 10 feet apart. They let us sit inside together but then opened up the outdoor seating for other people?!?! Maybe they knew they were getting our money anyway and wanted to keep the other tables open or overbooked themselves and were trying to fix it by moving us?? The UGLY: - Colony of ants by table in ballroom - Ant/bug in 2 of our waters - Fly in a beer. When asked for another, it came back with no head but the casing still there, meaning they just scooped out the foam with the fly and gave me same beer or used the same glass to pour the new beer. Both gross

We had Sunday brunch on May 5. The food was excellent but the service dismal. Our server made it very clear he does not like his job.

We were by the pool which is served by the restaurant. Service was basically nonexistent. Not sure if they forgot about our order but 35 mins into us ordering 3 drinks our friend noticed spilled drinks on the floor which turned out to be ours and added further delay on anything to be delivered. End bill was $100 with no remarks - not sure why one expects to be tipped at all?

Waaaaaaaaay over priced! $65 for La Marca Prosecco.. I mean, I know it's Nantucket bit come on! Three people, one lobster bake and two chicken and steak orders. $385

We dined at the Breeze restaurant on the porch for lunch. The service was attentive and efficient (after Labor Day) and the atmosphere was pleasant. While the food itself was indeed tasty, we left here hungry! I ordered the shrimp lettuce wraps with mango and lime salsa. Three tiny shrimp wraps adorned my plate. I think there was one small shrimp on each wrap. Lovely flavor, but come on - this was absolutely minuscule!! It wasn't listed as an appetizer, but rather a lunch entree. Even if it was an appetizer, it was still a ridiculously small portion. My husband had the lobster roll and while it came with a bag of chips and a pickle, the roll itself was sadly under lobstered. Certainly not worth the $45 price. I wanted to order the clam chowder, but it is not available for the lunch menu. If you don’t mind being hungry after you eat, this place will suite you fine.

I made a reservation for a birthday dinner. The food was mediocre but the service was awful. The server took my dish before I was able to finish it while I was in the bathroom. When I came back and asked him about it he offered me the menu instead of apologizing for what he did. He later had the audacity to ask us if we had left room for dessert. After he stole my food while I was in the bathroom I lost my appetite. The hostesses were nice and understanding after I told them what had happened and gave me a piece of cake to go. The night had already been ruined.

Please don’t come here. I had a birthday reservation for two people and the hostess brought us to the dining room and the server said they were full in their dining room. So we had to be out at one of the few tables by the bar. It was fine to sit there just feels like a punch in the stomach since I booked a birthday reservation. I just had one drink since I wasn’t asked if I wanted another one or anything. I just felt treated like they didn’t have room for me and didn’t want me to stay a while.

The Mother’s Day special four course meal was mediocre at best, astronomically overpriced, and was not in the ballroom as was promised online. The greeting was friendly, and the staff were kind, but the table service was slow and poor. They miscommunicated over the phone that we would be able to order from the “normal” menu, so we were required to order the $70/head meal (drinks, tip and tax were NOT included). They quite shockingly covered the not-fresh salmon in barbecue sauce, the chicken was dry, and the meat was unseasoned. The antipasto looked like a lunchable that had been left out for too long, not like a charcuterie board. Finally, the presentation of the dishes was poor. I don’t usually give poor reviews, but this experience was exceptionally disappointing, especially considering the great reviews and pictures on google. My party of 6 all agreed.

Possibly the most atrocious service I’ve had the misfortune of experiencing. It earned back one star because the food was genuinely excellent.

EXTREMELY slow service, to the point that I thought they only have 1 chef?! Food is meh, definitely overpriced. Ordered a medium rare steak, came out well done. Come here if you can’t find searing elsewhere and plan to sit here for a good 3 hours

The food and atmosphere are great. However, the service was so terrible that it completely negates the food and atmosphere. My wife and I made a reservation to eat here for their Thanksgiving buffet. -We were seated 20 minutes late to our reservation -When we sat down we were never given water and our waiter never came to our table to take our drink order -They forgot to give us spoons in our silverware so we couldn't eat our soup -After 15 minutes we finally were able to flag down a waiter to get water and order wine and he seemed very confused why no one had helped us yet -When it came time to pay, the receipt had an online QR code to pay in the Resy app. We successfully paid in the app and then were told by the waiter after the fact not to use the Resy app and to give him a card. We showed him the confirmation of payment and he grabbed the manager, Riley, who insisted we pay again and he would reverse the other payment. It has been 3+ weeks and both charges are still on my credit card. I have reached out to the restaurant to resolve the double charge and they tell me they are working on it, however no progress has been made. I ultimately filed a fraudulent charge claim with my credit card to have them investigate the issue. Nantucket has numerous wonderful restaurants, bars, and hotels with just as great of food. I would not waste your time here.

The good: the chicken Milanese The bad: the rest of the meal. No silverware or water until after our appetizer had arrived. The appetizer, the wok fried greens, was so overly salted our lips were burning. They were sitting in a pool of soy sauce. The short rib, while a good portion, was criminally under salted (though it was tender) Save your time and money and go literally anywhere else.

This place has been very accommodating in trying to correct a situation that was all wrong. I was extremely shocked that they made the effort they have made to make my anniversary great. Thanks for doing the right thing. All though I was unable to eat here on this trip I will be looking forward to next year's get away to eat at this romantic establishment.
