Avis sur Bear Napa
From the first greeting to the final bite, service was impeccable. Though part of a resort, the dining experience far exceeded expectations; thoughtful, refined, and anything but typical hotel fare. Ingredients were exceptionally fresh, the dishes felt inspired and intentional, and the cocktails were crafted with purpose (including a few delightful surprises, like their house-made beef broth?). What truly set this place apart was the seamless communication among the staff; attentive, polished, and effortlessly professional without ever feeling intrusive. Everything flowed beautifully. We’ve had a fair share of Michelin rated restaurants around the world (Kyoto, Rome, Rio, Singapore, NY, CA, Mexico City, Shanghai, etc) and the bear felt like we’re the most important people in the world. Just excellent service from start to finish. If you’re in the area, consider this a must.
A must go to place! Few months ago I had breakfast there and it was delicious, good service and nice ambiance. Tonight we had the pleasure of dinning at Bear with friend & family. Superb hospitality from staff, unique and delicious starter, entrees and deserts. Loved the crispy rice, the sourdough ice cream, ricotta coffee chocolate fudge, and etc. A very sincere thank you to Mr. George MC Gettigan, Chef Jeff, Ceaser, Patty & all the ladies & gentlemen who work diligently to make this restaurant a place that you like to go back again & again.
There should be more stars available for food, service, and atmosphere! I am very surprised it doesn’t have a James Beard nomination! They took the time to customize a cocktail of the highest quality for us. The food is inspiring. Thanks for treating us as though we were the most important people on the earth.
Phenomenal — this restaurant is a 100/10. The food, service, and atmosphere were outstanding. Sophia was very helpful, and our server, Yalitza, was incredible. Try the carrots—you won’t regret it
An incredible location, warm service, and outstanding food. We were pleasantly surprised how kid friendly it is as well. Space for kids to play plus some toys and a full kids breakfast and lunch menu. The staff were so welcoming to what was a slightly chaotic group. Of the dishes we got, I would not have expected the crudités to be the star. An amazing display from their garden.
This was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very lively and beautiful with natural light seeping through. The service was very attentive and kind yet very subtle in a way that a five star restaurant should be. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the warm bread with butter and a vegetable platter, which was phenomenal. We then had the Hamachi Crudo, which was very good and just enough spice from the chili. The oysters were wonderful and crunchy and tasty and the scallops were perfectly cooked with a really unique sauce. We didn’t have any drinks, but they looked absolutely fabulous. The restaurant is definitely pricey, but it was worth it. I definitely would come back here.
Awesome experience, I say experience because we don’t normally eat luxurious dinners that cost 300.00 but when we do we certainly enjoy it. I love that we came on a Friday night without reservations and they were still willing to accommodate. As a small business owner this means a lot. Thank you for the perfect service, and excellent hospitality. Thank you for the memories ♥️
The food at this restaurant is a masterpiece and an absolute work of art. Each food item has been thoughtfully crafted and plated with so much care and detail. The flavors range from deep, to bold to spicy! We dined here 2 times and each time we got new items. The veggies were beautiful and vibrant. The steak was large and seared to perfection. Bear was such a treat and we loved everything we ordered!
Absolute loved our experience at Bear. The grounds and garden around the restaurant and hotel are so beautiful, make sure to get the early and wander. We ordered the kampachi, the raw oysters, and the wood fired oysters. The kampachi was one of the best bites of food I’ve ever had, the combo of acidity and cream was delectable. The raw oysters had green strawberries and I could have just eaten that as my meal. Next we got the crispy rice, lamb ribs, bass, mushrooms, and snap peas. All were amazing but I’ll be craving the sauce they serve with the crispy rice for weeks. The service was also impeccable, they even gave us free champagne to celebrate our anniversary. All in all a 10/10 experience, hope to be back soon.
I was 30 minutes late with a reservation. They called to confirm if I was coming. I said yeah. They all greeted me and took me to a spot to eat. I ordered the sirloin with french fries. Atmosphere is great during the sunset hour. A fun place to be at. I would come back another time and try other meals
Lovely and refreshing, this clean and modern restaurant is a expensive treat! Food is excellent and surprising. Interesting pairing and unique twists to old favorites. I found everything slightly under salted (should have asked for salt), but the flavors were excellent. The staff is very attentive (to a fault), friendly and knowledgeable. We had the crispy rice, raw oysters, and fish tartare and the rice was the absolute winner! The oysters had too much of the awesome flavoring and the mild natural flavors were sadly lost, as much as we liked the additions. We shared the whole Trout and it was the hi-light of the meal, as a side we had the young potatoes with pimento cheese and they were exquisite especially when we drizzled their pepper sauce on top after one of the waitresses recommended it. Don’t miss the desserts, they are unique and delicious as well. They have an excellent and extensive drink menu as well.
Love this place for brunch. Atmosphere is welcoming and foods are superb. Been here a couple of times and each time did not disappoint. Today is extra special, they have a Filipino inspired dish which is hubby’s favorite- pork belly, tamarind taro and fried rice. Super yummy. And we are not surprise that the chef is a Filipina. We sent our compliments to the chef and she made an effort to come out and say hi to us. Thanks Chef Juni! 😊
This restaurant is an absolute gem! The food was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Our server was incredibly attentive and made sure we had a wonderful dining experience. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere for a memorable meal. I can't wait to return and try more of their delicious dishes. Highly recommend this exceptional restaurant!
Everything was absolutely delicious! We ordered family style so we could try a bit of everything. The scallops and the sourdough ice cream were my favorite!
We had a fantastic brunch experience here yesterday. The setting is very modern farmhouse chic, the menu is extensive and creative, the food was stand-out delish and the service was top notch. Special shout outs to Annette the hostess / manager for making us feel super welcome and comfortable and to Rebecca for providing great service as our server! We will be back soon!

The Bear blows us out of the water every time!! It is so delicious and the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Our server, Sophia, was outstanding. My partner got the quail and he said it was the most delicious thing he has ever eaten. I usually get the pasta and it is transformative. If we could eat here for every meal of every day we would!

Wonderful experience. This place really has it all, from an excellent front-of-house team to a fabulous kitchen team. The food was fantastic, portions were just right, the seating was comfortable, and the ambiance was beautiful. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, and it was the perfect choice. We ordered the Bison beef tartare, oysters, scallops, and lamb for our entrées, everything was beyond delicious. We also enjoyed champagne, cocktails, and wine. Our server, Sean, was great, and the sommelier, Mike, was incredibly attentive. He truly knows how to read the room and his guests, simply phenomenal. I asked Mike what wine he thought was best around here, and his recommendation was spot-on. Such a top-notch team that really elevated the whole experience.
From the first sip to the last bite of the dessert, everything here feels like a work of art. Every detail of the place is so thoughtfully done, you can truly tell that someone poured their heart into creating this experience. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary dinner here and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The food was exceptional, the service was warm and attentive, and the wine selection was fantastic. We also loved that there were so many great vegetarian options, all incredibly flavorful and creative. We had the best evening and will absolutely be coming back. Highly recommend!
We stumbled upon this place when looking for a place for dinner. The ranch property itself is beautiful. The service has incredible. We ate a burger, and some great appetizers at the bar with some interesting and favorful cocktails. Done miss this place. Laura of Raleigh
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Food is delicious, innovative, highly varied. Wine by the glass list was very good. The service was amazing. Our server, didn’t get her name, explained the menu so well, and accurately. We had our kids and they could not have been more accommodating - which we appreciate. Other staff were highly professional. Property is beautiful. I would highly recommend. Constructive items: the music inside was a bit loud, the markup on bottles of wine is a bit ridiculous.
My first time coming here, and it was amazing. The ambiance is great. Although it can be loud and harder to talk on a busier night. The service is spot on. Pricing is reasonable. I will be coming back. Recommend the lamb ribs, very tasty. The sourdough ice cream is also balanced 😋
Wow, this place is beautiful, truly a farm to table restaurant. I think we ordered most of the plates offered on the menu given we had a large group. The cocktails are delicious, and my favorite was the Midnight Rider but others loved the special, Petunia. It is on the pricier side which is expected since it’s Napa Valley. My favorite was the peppercorn crusted short rib; loved the whole concept. Enjoyed wrapping the tender short rib in lettuce and herbs, and having it with a side of kimchi. I also ordered the sourdough for dessert which was recommended by the server. It was delicious! Didn’t realize it was just sourdough ice cream but that simplicity made it even better. With all the food and drinks, it ended up being about $200pp. Definitely recommend going a little early so you can catch the sunset and walk around the property!
It's Californias farm to table restaurant. Located in Stanly ranch with beautiful resort ranch. Good to have reservations otherwise maybe long wait. Beautiful setting and landscaping. Large free parking lot. Full bar with a cafe (coffee shop + pastry) across it. Wide tables wide routes make it accessible. Food is refreshing and delicious. Service was a bit slow and unresponsive but OK. Good for couples, date night/day, day trip from Bay Area, small groups and gatherings. Good for kids with wide outdoor tables.

Dinner during a weekend around Napa. Easy to reach on a side road from highway. Large parking lot with valet option. Stylish fairy lights and illumination at twilight. Nice initial impression of this luxury Auberge resort. Very courteous and polished staff. We did have a reservation, no wait for a table. Beautiful, minimalistic interior design. Open kitchen towards the rear. Unfortunately very loud music and elevated noise levels, rather difficult to talk. Hence only 3 stars for the atmosphere. Had cocktails and placed our order. Served without any long wait. Plates were warm but not hot. Food was good, but nothing memorable. The Thai crispy rice was the only highlight. The wax beans with a strange cheese layer - meh. Portions in general on the small side, some dishes clearly overpriced. Service seemed somewhat rushed, mains were brought when I hadn't finished the appetizer. This is not a level you expect at an Auberge resort. A missed opportunity.

2 stars for the beautiful restaurant. The server and busser were both attentive and did a good job. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. While the presentation looked nice, the short ribs were extremely overcooked — quite possibly the worst we’ve had. Coming from Hawaii, where short ribs are a staple, we know what well-prepared short ribs should taste like. These were dry, tough, and the outer pieces were so overdone they had the texture of fried fish bones or jerky. Only a small portion in the center was tender, making up maybe a third of the dish. On a positive note, the new potatoes and oysters were delicious — even the water was good! But we were still charged separately for the potatoes that came with the ribs, which was surprising given the quality of the main dish. Overall, it’s a beautiful restaurant with good staff, but the food—especially the short ribs—was a major disappointment. They will make you wait for your table even if the restaurant is mostly empty, possibly due to being short staffed (explains the pre cooked, reheated ribs)
