The best restaurant we been on 2 weeks trip in Bahamas! Finally some European standards food and drinks not full of sugar or simply low quality ingredients or fried, also - with decent prices. The bartender was really friendly and super helpful, also coctails were truly amazing, best I ever had! 🤍

If you’re looking for a good Japanese restaurant in Bahamas, then this is a place to eat! Very close to other shopping areas and the straw market as well! Their Ramen, salad, tempura, bento, and sushi rolls were all great from my standard. Of course authenticity is not expected but for what I ate I was very satiated! Please try them out when you’re nearby and you won’t regret it :))

Sat at the sushi bar for one of if not the best thing I have ever ate in my entire life. It was a pork belly and pineapple skewer. The waiter was great and my wife thinks he has a great smile. 🤔 To drink i had the Tokyo mule which the smiley waiter recommended and it was great. I wouldnt skip this place if you're staying in nassau.

We are vegetarian and ordered 2 rolls, shishito peppers, edamame, veg fried rice and Oku salad. Everything was fantastic! Salad is a big portion and the BEST on this side of the island. Guys, don’t miss the churro icecream dessert, the churro was crispy and warm and with the icecream it really hit the spot. Highly recommended!

Everything was great! We ordered gyoza, shrimp tempura, chicken fried rice, and honey ginger teriyaki chicken. Everything was super delicious and arrived very quickly. The atmosphere and service were excellent. Highly recommended!

Our initial dining experience was exceptional, earning a five-star rating. The restaurant, conveniently located downtown, accommodated both reservations and walk-in customers, creating a lively atmosphere during our lunch visit. Our server, James, provided attentive service and offered excellent recommendations. We enjoyed two orders of the specialty maki rolls, cocktails, and dessert. The restaurant's ambiance successfully blended casual and romantic elements. We anticipate returning and highly recommend this establishment.

Oku Sushi was hands down my favorite sushi spot in the Bahamas! Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious – my favorites were the tuna tostadas, salmon ceviche, tiger roll, edamame, gyoza, salmon and tuna rolls… honestly, everything we tried was amazing. The ambience is perfect – relaxing music and a cozy vibe, which made it the ideal spot to unwind after a day at the beach. We loved it so much that we came back three times during our stay, and every visit was consistently excellent. A special shoutout to Luis, who runs the place – he was so kind and even made my birthday extra special! The sushi chefs were incredibly welcoming, and the servers were just as wonderful. Don’t miss the cocktails – the Lychee Spirits and Spicy Melon were my favorites. 🍸 This place is truly a gem, and I can’t wait to come back!

Amazing place, amazing food. Salmon tataki was spectacular. Sushi assortment really nice, specially the spicy tuna roll with truffle. Totally recommended

You won’t be disappointed!!!! My husband is working here and I am visiting from Florida. I have been on the Island for 5 days. Hands down the BEST restaurant on the island as it pertains to quality, service and atmosphere. Think Nobu restaurant in Miami Florida The Oku salad is to die for, the Salmon with crab inside with crispy thin leek toppings was fresh and tasteful, and the volcano roll with conch topping was just perfectly seared. The dessert didn’t disappoint. A must try!!!

From the moment I walked in the service was amazing. We were greeted by the host within five seconds of walking in the door. Amazing customer service. Probably some of the best sushi I have ever had. James, our waiter was very cordial and polite and offered suggestions. He was very attentive and refilling our drinks. If you are in Nassau, you cannot miss this restaurant.

We loved all of our foods! Gyoza, Honey ginger teriyaki shrimp and rice, Bento box #2, Specialty Maki; Double Trouble and Spicy Salmon Tempura.

Everything we ordered was top-notch — the tuna truffle crunch roll was packed with flavor and had the perfect balance of texture and richness. The miso soup was hot, comforting, and well-seasoned, and the bao buns were light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. The presentation was beautiful, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere felt upscale yet relaxed. Will 100% come back!

It may not seem like much from the outside but this place pleasantly surprised us in the best way possible. From the decor, to the service, to the food, quite honestly one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. I only wish we had time to try everything on the menu! We sat at the sushi counter so got to see all the sushi being made. We grabbed a couple cocktails which were delicious and beautifully presented, and then got the edamame and spicy shrimp for starters which both came out fresh and hot with great portion sizes. We then had the Crunchy Tuna Truffle Roll and the the Sunset Dreams Roll. I also got the the unagi (eel) nigiri with apple. Everything was superb and the flavor and quality of the fish was fabulous. 10/10 recommend. The place can be a bit busy so it might be good to grab a reservation. They also asked about dietary restrictions at the start so I believe they are able to accomodate some allergies and preferences but always good to talk to your server for your situation.

Oku Sushi Bar was really good. Our family enjoyed eating here. This was one of the best restaurants we ate at when we were in the Bahamas for a week. The service was really good and it was one of the few places that offered house water instead of only selling you bottled water. This is definitely a place worth checking out. You will not regret it.

Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had! Their specialty maki rolls are outstanding, particularly the Double Trouble and Spicy Salmon Tempura. We loved it so much that we went back a second time during our three-day stay in Nassau. The service was great, the drinks were fantastic, and the Aka Garlic Udon Noodles are a must-try. Highly recommend this spot!

First time here, the food was great. It didn't feel like you was close to the cruise port because inside is very quiet from the outside noises. We had a great experience. The drinks were great and there was an artistic spin on our katana drink which was great. I will definitely recommend this place as a great sushi spot for locals that are looking for a great sushi spot and Tourist that come to Nassau for a short period of time and are looking for great sushi. All the stuff were very accommodating and polite I will definitely be back again

Everything I ordered was so delicious. If there is one thing I can reorder for seconds was the pork belly bao. Everything was so fresh and as you can see from the picture beautifully presented.

Ok, this place is awesome, the best place in the whole island. The service was fast , food fantastic and drinks too. Special thanks to the sushi bar staff Alfredo y Miguel great guys and super professional. Also thanks to the Bartender Jay one of the best costumer service I got from a local guy👏🏻😎🫶🏻. Bottom line this place is AWESOME , I decided to keep coming back cause the others places around the island were a disaster. The big problem in Bahamas is the lack of costumer service and readiness while providing service .

We came in with a party of 4 around 6pm with no reservation. We're seated promptly and had a bit of a wait for our server. Our order was taken and our food started to come out immediately. Services was spot on and friendly. A great place to get your sushi fix!

Very happy with this establishment. Visited them 3 times. Bartender, Tim, was one of the reasons we wanted to go back. He was very good at his job, polite, knowledgeable and great to talk to. Food was delicious and fresh with great presentation.

Excellent food. We had Miso soup, salad, shishito, shrimp fried rice and the sushi chef picks. All great and tasty. For two people it was too much food, fried rice is pretty big. Service a little slow but it was busy. Recommended.

Three days in Bahamas, three days at Oku. Intimate space, nice atmosphere, good food. The BBQ eel is excellent here — finishing with a blowtorch adds a lovely, smoky flavour. We had three rounds each time!

Nice restaurant in the heart of Nassau. All of the maki that we tried was expertly prepared as was the sashimi and the nigiri. I think you would have a hard time finding something on the menu that wasn't done expertly prepared and presented. The facilities were great and clean. The staff were attentive and cordial as well as accommodating. And the overall atmosphere was very inviting.

The best staff. Quick service. Quality of fresh fish was insane. A littler pricier but so worth it. Cocktails were also delicious. Just a quick walk from most hotels downtown/in the port area.

We loved this place and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the double trouble rolls. So generous with the shrimp and lobster. It’s our last day here but we wish we’d found this place sooner.

Went to dinner on a Sunday night around 6pm. We did not have a reservation and were seated right away. The food was amazing. We had the mushroom asparagus roll, fried rice with tofu, vegetable tempura, and both flavors of mocktails. The service is top of the line. I would 100 percent return if I lived in the Bahamas. They definitely know the difference between vegan and vegetarian.

SO GOOD! We have been here on Nassau for a week and have had so many bad meals but this place is INCREDIBLE. Every single thing we ordered was unreal good. We got gyoza, three orders of udon noodles (both flavors they offer), fried rice, the huge sushi platter with so many rolls we got to pick out and the churros dessert and banana Nutella dessert. Literally everyone ate every bite of their food. Can’t say enough good things. The fish was all SO FRESH and on the udon we got steak and it was great and the chicken was great on the rice. Best food on this island!!!

Some of the best sushi I have ever had. Love this place. Was open when everything else was shut down after the cruise ships departed. If we are ever back in the area we will be back.

Staff was very courteous and even confirmed if I had any allergies prior to submitting my order. Wait time was not long at all. Food is fresh and flavorful. I even ate the wasabi and I’m not a wasabi fan. Had the spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon tempura, and glass of Riesling.

First, the place is small. 20 seats total so make a reservation if you can. We were given seats at the bar provided we were out in 60 minutes. We started with Gyoza which surprised us by being deep fried. Crunchy and tasty! Then the apple glazed unagi, the Oku volcano roll and a spicy shrimp and crab roll. All of these were excellent. Flavor full and executed really well. Great little spot.

Nice quaint sushi restaurant. Love the expansion and service with a smile from everyone I encountered Had a strong lychee martini, their spring roll was different had cheese but was very tasty and crispy . I will definitely love to visit here again . Btw love the decor , it really gives that street city vibe and the sushi chefs prepare meals right in front of you I love that , a must visit in Downtown

We normally don’t get off the boat at Nassau but I was really craving sushi. We had Nigiri (Apple Unagi, salmon umami, and hamachi spicy), 4 rolls (Oku Volcano, Salmon Tempura, Crunchy Tuna Truffle, Spicy Lobster. Everything was so good. We will definitely be coming back each time we visit from now on. Also our servers were freaking awesome. (Super funny too)

Amazing service , amazing vibes , amazing food! Very clean as you watch them basically make everything in front of you. To come here without trying the Shrimp Ceviche should be a crime, it is the best ceviche I have ever had!

I love it here. The food was so good and beautifully presented (sorry I didn’t take pics), the drinks were good, the place itself is really pretty, and I liked the music they played. 10/10 recommend. The service was also good.

Very good 👍. Reviews are very accurate. Close to the ship port so of course prices reflect this, but oku salad and a spicy salmon hand roll (disappointingly not really spicy) were a good lunch solution.

Excellent customer service by the sushi chefs. The best experience we had in Nassau. We sat at the bar and the sushi chefs were great. Highly recommended, definitely a must. They were able to accommodate for allergies. Gracias!

Had dinner here my first night at Nassau. Great experience overall. It’s right across the road from the British Colonial, or a couple of minutes’ walk from Margaritaville. I recommend making a reservation coz it was packed when we went at 8. Great vibes. Food tasted amazing. My favourite was the Double Trouble special maki. The servers were friendly and attentive. They offer free wifi. Highly recommend checking them out. Bill will include 15% gratuity and 10% VAT. Ours came out to $100. Card preferred. If you want to use tap, you may have to complete payment over 2-3 transactions as the card reader doesn’t accept a large payment in one go.

The food was ok. Did not expect for a lot of the options to be fried as it was not in the description on the menu. Overall the food was ok. It wasnt bad, but no wow factor either. The presentations were cute as well. The service was excellent! Inside can hold about 20 persons max, so you will receive that intimate feel no matter at the bar or table. It would be a great first date restaurant, especially with the ambiance.

Oku is a great chill place to have lunch or nice drink. The Sushi is top tier, and the ambiance is also nice, great music which is loud enough to hear the person in front of you and m drown out the noise of other patrons. We experienced, great food and service and will be back again

E

Food quality was good, though it took a while to come out after we ordered. The size of the portions was too small for the price charged. We spent over $100 for two adults and two kids (who shared a single dish), and we were still hungry after that. It felt especially overpriced even for Bahamas standards given the amount of food you get

S
Suzette Carter

They use poor quality ingredients, definitely won’t be back… I had the spicy crab roll with miso soup and my husband had the teriyaki chicken. If you’ve had sushi before you will immediately know the quality is just not there. The wasabi tasted diluted, which I don’t get why skimp on such a thing especially if people will be able to tell the difference. Giving 2 stars as we were immediately seated and food came out pretty quick . Came here on a Saturday at 6:30pm after a quick drizzle outside.

I came to the restaurant and we had a bitter sweet experience. The food was delicious but we found a hair in one piece of sushi and we show to the hostess and she completely denied and didnt accept the option that the hair would come from the restaurant. Props to the chef, saw the situation and imediately offered two pieces of sushi.

The restaurant is okay for this area, but the service was disappointing—the server was very rude and unfriendly. The sushi chef was kind and told me to ignore the servers , but the food quality was not authentic Japanese style. I’ve eaten a lot of Japanese food, and this did not feel real. I ordered hotate (scallop), but it looked more like imitation crab. The spicy salmon was just mixed fish, not authentic, and the rice in the bento boxes was not Japanese rice. Overall, it did not feel like a true Japanese experience. Also, the tip was already included in the bill.

Allowed us to book online for a 9:30 dinner slot. Got a call en route to be notified acknowledging our 9:30 booking while the kitchen closes at 9:45. Who's idea was that? Who would book a dinner res for fifteen minutes before the kitchen closes knowingly? Valet looked at us as an inconvenience, slouched to the side like his shift was ending in 5 minutes. Brightest spot was the server. James was cool, seems like a casual spot to grab sushi take out or sit at the bar and drink. Dine in would not recommend. Staff general appears to not give a flying feather. Nice ambience though.

The sushi is the best sushi in the area, but the waitress was surprisingly rude. We were waiting for our takeaway order (preferred to eat on our ocean-view terrace) when a tropical storm suddenly started. To avoid all the grilled fusion rolls getting cold, we politely asked whether we could stay and eat inside the almost empty restaurant. The waiter agreed, but another waitress rushed to us and immediately started shouting at us, saying we were not allowed to do so because we had ordered takeaway, without giving any explanation or solution. We were completely shocked. She also refused to let us speak to the manager to resolve the situation. The calmer we spoke, the more agitated she became. Fortunately, the manager noticed the disturbance and came over. He kindly agreed that we could eat inside during the storm and order drinks from the restaurant. It became clear from the waitress’s shouting that she was unhappy because takeaway orders do not generate tips for the waiting staff. She even continued shouting at her manager. The whole situation was so upsetting that we ended up leaving in the storm without finishing our food. We love to dine out regularly, but we have never witnessed such a scene.
