Low priced yet high quality sushi. This place is technically a hole in the wall type of place given the size of the dining area is small. However it has a moderately higher class sort of feel to it. Ambiance and relaxation would be the proper way to describe Wildginger. And how can you not relax with wonderful food options? My friend suggested I try this place, so myself and my girlfriend went with said friend when he picked us up from the airport. Since he was a trooper about the traffic, I offered to pay for him. The three of us probably ordered 8 or 9 rolls of different sushi, some soup, and an appetizer... total cost was resting a little under $40. Left a cash tip. This place was an excellent first food experience after landing from the flight. I would rate it higher if I could.

Delicious spot to grab a bite when I'm near the library. They have lunch specials that are worth your money and quick to make. Sushi is served here and have half price options for you. Limited parking as I would not suggest to bring a big group. If you are, come in as less cars as you can!

My husband and I come all the way from middle Island to Smithtown just for the sushi. And definitely well worth the trip. We are never disappointed. Also the owners Alex and Sharon are wonderful people. They treat everyone like family. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. And quite a few times, I’ve noticed even other customers that were sitting and enjoying their dinner, we’re often very friendly. It’s like that place bring out the friendliness in everybody. I wonder if they’re adding something to the food for that, LOL. Sushi is always fresh and delicious. My husband is extremely picky about his sushi. And the best part of this is the menu that has a variety of delicious foods. And very reasonably priced For what they give you. Delicious, quality sushi. Before pandemic would visit here once every 10 days for dine in. Dine in prices are so inexpensive it's the best food for price of any fusion cuisine. Soups are very flavorful. Even in pandemic staff is quick and friendly. Prices are still reasonable even without half prices on dine in sushi.

Absolutely wonderful and amazing every single time I visit. A nice atmosphere with some jazzy tunes, not too fancy as there are kids and chatter all around during the busy hours, but a lot more sophisticated than a diner. Highly recommended for first time sushi diners. Very attentive and polite wait staff, all the dishes prepared beautifully. Only complain - My food was very very hot out of the kitchen, have to wait a while or blow on it excessively.

It's always a great meal at Wild Ginger. Sharon and Alex are the perfect hosts. The sushi is so fresh and the rolls are fat and yummy. Wait staff is efficient and friendly. We feel like we are dining with family when we go!!

Omg, amazing! So glad we came here for a birthday celebration! All 12 of us really enjoyed our food (and we ordered SO many different items!). The restaurant is small, but cozy and very clean, and pricing is very fair. We had the sweetest server (wish I knew her name!), who managed to get all of our many orders correct. The appetizer bao buns, miso soup, and sushi rolls were fresh and delicious. The hibachi chicken and shrimp was the best hibachi I’ve ever had and the wok filet mignon was tender and so flavorful. One of the hibachi filet mignons was slightly overdone, but they quickly re-made the steak and it was tender and perfect. We had the pleasure of meeting both owners who were so friendly, warm, and fun. They heard we were there for a birthday and brought a piece of cake with candles and mochi without us even asking. It was really just a great night, and we were so happy we gave this place a try. We will definitely be returning! Thank you all so much!

This was our first visit to Wild Ginger, after hearing good things about their food. We were in the mood for hibachi but didn't need the whole production that often comes with it. We didn't know what to expect for the set up of the restaurant, but after looking up the menu and seeing they had exactly what we wanted and more at what seemed like reasonable prices, we thought we'd give them a try. We went, 5 of us in total including 3 kids. It's a very basic set up, small restaurant and seems like it is often more for take out, but still a nice and quiet atmosphere. There weren't too many people there, so it made dining with kids much easier! Their staff was amazing and so accommodating to us! They were constantly checking in and all were very friendly. When we got the food we were in shock! There was so much! Definitely much bigger portions than a traditional hibachi restaurant. And their ramen bowl was huge and delicious as well! We took home another meals worth of leftovers! All of the food was also delicious! We tried a little of everything, tho focusing moslty on hibachi. I am definitely so happy with our decision to try them out! They told us that all of the meat they use comes from Chubs next door, which I thought was wonderful and made me like them even more! We will be back!

This is the best sushi I've had since moving to Smithtown. Im glad I was recommended this place my daughter and I loved it! Delicious food, sweet employees and good service.

Always enjoy the meal at Wild ginger but this visit the meal was outstanding. I ordered the Asian grilled shrimp with vegetables with a spicy sauce. The spice was not overpowering but a nice kick. The chef did not skimp on the shrimp. I would recommend Wild Ginger before this visit and after this visit. Service was excellent.

The chirashi was perfectly fresh, though presentation left something to be desired. The atmosphere was cozy, if not a little dated. The great service more than made up for these minor shortcomings - our server was attentive, communicative and kind, even though we had a group of rowdy little kids in tow. Food is always consistently delicious and above all fresh. The staff are on top of things and friendly without being overbearing. The restaurant is clean and the prices are reasonable. I do wish it was a little closer to home but I can't fault them for that and I don't mind going a little out of our way to eat here. My husband and I really enjoy Wild Ginger and will continue to visit as long as they keep doing what they are doing.

Part of the appeal of Wild Ginger was 50% off sushi rolls when you dine in. Now they've gotten rid of that deal after YEARS of having it - and there's no sign or anything in the window. I guess this is an attempt to make up for lost revenue, but to put it on unsuspecting customers is wrong. Also, 4% increase in price if you pay with a credit card? What year is this?

It's difficult to rate this restaurant as more than 3 stars, and tempting to rate it less than this, but this is solely based on my two experiences ordering delivery from an app. The first time we had a slightly negative experience putting our order in because we were told that they did not delivery to our address based on a specific radius, but the app had allowed us to put an order in. After some discussion the restaurant delivered our food, which we enjoyed, but we were missing a sprite. The second time we ordered, there were no issues with placing and receiving the order. The food tasted good, but the forget the ginger salad, and one of the three roles we ordered had asparagus (instead of avocado) despite none of them including asparagus in the recipe. So it was another disappointing experience. I can't comment on the restaurant itself, and we've enjoyed the food each time, but the two negative experiences make me not inclined to order food from here for delivery or recommend others to do so.

I was not satisfied with the to go, My daughter and I had a bite of California roll to go it was the worst stomach ache ever we had.

Wildginger has changed. Quality of food has gone down I originally gave it a 5. It deserves a 1 now. What a shame.

Ordered out, from today April 28th. The grilled chicken salad was delicious. But the Filet Mignon Tataki was not actually filet mignon. Instead it was London broil. Very disappointed. Although the presentation was pretty, I was not satisfied.

Called for delivery at 7pm, order was taken. Called again at 8pm, we were informed that it's a busy night, the driver is on the way. Called for the 3rd time at 9pm, found out the driver was at wrong address and we were never notified. The restaurant didn't even bother to call us and we had to call again to find out. They refuse to deliver the food again and didn't bother to apologize. So, in short, just make sure you go over your details (number and address) with the reception multiple times.

The restaurant did not have our main item order (crispy duck) and rather than contacting us to tell us they didn’t have and give us the opportunity to order something in its place, they simply deleted it from the order and sent only the 2 appetizers ordered. We tipped the dasher based on our order which totaled $45.00 but the order arrived missing THE MAIN COURSE totaling $16.00. I contacted the restaurant and they refused to take responsibility for their unethical decision and blamed Doordash instead. They insisted that it was door dashes responsibility to tell us AND that door dash does not provide my contact information. I know better because I was not born yesterday. I advised them that EVERY OTHER RESTAURANT we’vr ordered from through doordash ALWAYS immediately calls and or texts me when they have run out of what we ordered, allowing us the opportunity to select something else. NO RESTAURANT has ever just did what they want AND quite obviously DoorDash provides my contact information. The woman was nasty, rude and extremely defensive on the phone she began to yell at my husband. These people are slippery, unprofessional and unethical. It is my opinion they should be removed from door dash. Absolutely unacceptable, these are definitely not the type of people we want our neighborhood to patronize.

9/21/2020- I saw on their website that they were offering half off sushi when you dine-in. When we came in the place was empty which before corona would be taken as a red flag (and we should have see it as one post corona too) but we decided to dine in the empty restaurant. There were fruit flies around our table. The tuna was flavorless. And the cherry on top- there was a hair straight across one of my rolls. I did not ask for another roll I asked for it to be taken off the bill which I'm glad I did because upon receiving the bill at FULL PRICE you could say I was in shock. I pulled up their website and showed her the advertisement and the waitress said they're not honoring that anymore even though it's currently advertised on their website. Learn from my mistake. Go to kushi sushi a few blocks away.

Horrible service, not once did the owner come out and try to apologize or fix the mistakes made which were quite a few. Never eating here again. Pretty much ruined what was suppose to be a nice Saturday night dinner for my boyfriend. Thanks Wild Ginger. Never again !!

Honestly, not sure if I will go back. For $16 and general chows chicken I was given no rice or egg roll or anything! Chicken was so so hard! I will throw the rest out. Not even worth eating. Take a look at the picture. What a waste of time and money.

I got a stapler pin in my sushi, which made me upset, but what made me more upset was the fact that people at the restaurant I called gaslighted me and told that there possibly couldn't have been a pin in there with the implication that I had something to do with it. You guys are disgusting people, take accountability for your actions, and I will never ever eat there, absolutely disgusting. There could have been a serious injury.

Unfortunately, the food just didn’t hit the mark. The sushi rolls were small and light on fillings, the Pad Thai was dry and lacked flavor, and the General Tso’s tasted overwhelmingly sweet—like it was doused in corn syrup with a bit of chili sauce added in. There are much better options for sushi, Chinese, and Thai just across the street or a couple minutes down the road. Sometimes it’s better for a restaurant to focus on doing a few things well rather than trying to cover every cuisine. This was a one-and-done visit for me.

Seaweed salad was nice but I'm not sure it's made in house. Sushi was subpar. I specified vegan for every dish and they served me Egg in the fried rice, then blamed me for not specifying. The first server was kind and apologetic, did reduce the bill, but this should never happen. Overall a poor experience and we won't be coming back.
