Incredible eatery on all accounts!!! This restaurant expertly serves up locally sourced dishes that satiate your taste buds and appetite. Chef Bolivar and company put on an excellent experience that is worth trying regularly! It is difficult to recommend just one highlight because everything was exquisite! You can’t go wrong here and I highly suggest dining here!!!

absolutely stellar experience :) by far the best meal my partner and I have eaten in Connecticut. The food was just as exquisite as the lovely space we dined in, and our server was helpful and attentive. can’t wait to return and try more from the menu as the seasons change. bravo!

We had been meaning to come here since the Litchfield Jazz fest - OMG, why did we wait?!? Made it for Mother's Day and had an unquestionable 6 star experience. It is off the beaten path which we really enjoy; a destination. The staff were welcoming, warm, inviting. The menu was tailored for Mother's Day - prix-fixe with an array of options. The cocktails were innovative and absolutely amazing! Great wine & spirit selection. Desserts were otherworldly including a flourless chocolate cake the likes of which my palate has never experienced. A nice, relaxed atmosphere - a curated dining experience.

I recently dined at Community Table in Connecticut, and it was an outstanding experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with an inviting and elegant atmosphere. The service was truly exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The food was incredibly flavorful, with each dish thoughtfully prepared and bursting with taste. Community Table is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal in a lovely setting.

The staff went above and beyond for my anniversary dinner last night by having a bottle of bubbly on ice and fresh flowers on the table. We started with the fresh warm rolls and honey butter, and the New England cheese board. Both were delicious. The rolls are so light and airy. And that butter is like crack, so addictive lol. My wife had the skirt steak as her entree and I ordered the Amish chicken. My chicken was so savory and the flavors mixed perfectly. My wife loved her steak and we ended up taking half home. For dessert I ordered a butterscotch pudding with roasted pistachios. It was absolutely delightful. The wife ordered the chocolate cornmeal cake with an ice cream that was to die for. The raspberry syrup was a bit too much for us, but we don't like raspberries. I will definitely return to this establishment, it's a 10/10 and a rare find in this state.

We really had a lovely time. The service was excellent, the food was absolutely delicious. A lot of fresh local options, very well done, nothing too sweet- we enjoyed the steak and the heirloom tomato salad. The hush puppies were amazing!

I am wonderstruck that CT is not a Michelin starred (as yet?) eatery. As always, the beautiful attention to detail, service, quality is what CT excels at. Everything from the cocktails, the venison, the halibut, to the cabbage exceeded expectations. Just a fabulous eatery in the country that you cannot go wrong with.

What a gem. Community Table is one of the best restaurants in the state and if not, the entire northeast. Chef Christian is a wizard and each dish that comes out of that kitchen is carefully thought of and cared for using locally sources produce and very unique flavor profiles. Bottom line, this place is amazing and worth the price. Great wine selection, beautiful and cozy decor, good vibe all around. The house rolls are a must order but otherwise the menu changes often depending on the seasons or what Christian has in the works. Everything is good.

The food is outstanding, inventive, delicious and fresh. Adorable restaurant with great service and great wine. It’s a splurge but we love to come here on special occasions. They book up well in advance so make a reservation if you’d like to have dinner there on a weekend.

No words to describe this place. A hidden gem. From the locally sourced ingredients based food, to the service and the atmosphere - Couldn't ask for a better anniversary dinner. Yael and the whole team is phenomenal. Can't wait to come back.

Excellent service and excellent food. When I asked about a cocktail that was on their website but not on the current menu the waiter assured me that the bartender would mix something as close as possible with the ingredients on hand. What he brought was absolutely delicious and true to the description on the website. The cheese plate nailed it, a great selection of cheeses with different tastes and textures and portioned properly with the top notch baguette that accompanied it. The salad was excellently complemented with perfectly sliced watermelon radishes that were as beautiful as they were delicious. The duck was really great and it paired well with the beets and roasted carrots. It was a thoroughly enjoyable dinner and I highly recommend having dinner there.

Very lovely place! Great service, drinks, & food! I got the winter chill drink and could taste the rosemary (most places solely garnish with herbs which is a shame because they're so tasty). We got the pheasant & venison dishes for the main course and they were cooked to perfection.

If you are looking for a place to splurge, celebrate or impress someone, this is it. The food is beyond amazing. Everything we ordered was so full of flavor but not over the top. You can tell that each course is created by people that love and appreciate food. Can't recommend it enough. We also had excellent service and the atmosphere is comfortably elegant and inviting. P.S. the cardamom rolls are an absolute must. I would drive the 90 minutes just for those. lol

We enjoyed our meal at The Community Table immensely! The service was friendly, attentive, and subtle. We ordered three appetizers and each was unique, elegantly presented, and delicious -- especially the scallops. However, the highlight, as we had hoped, were the entrees. I had the steelhead trout; my wife ordered the smoked head-on prawns. Both were incredible. Yes, it's a bit pricey but well worth the splurge if you enjoy world class fare.

Amazing dinner!!!!! Everything was delicious. Cocktails, unbelievable cardamom buns, perfect cheese selection, and oh my gosh don’t even get me started over the REAL mint chocolate cookie chip ice cream made with real mint, so refreshing and delicate. Hope to be back 😍not to mention the adorable wallpaper walls inside and overall feel of the place.

We were highly recommended to visit Community Table, and we are so glad we did. The care and meticulous effort that goes into their menu is clear, and the atmosphere and service are top class. Every course we had was exceptional. The cocktail menu was creative and varied, with something for any palette. The local cheeseboard is a must-have.

We love Community Table. The food is terrific and the service consistently warm and attentive. Both dining rooms are elegant understated and beautiful. We moved to Litchfield County two years ago and it has become our go to place. It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Ingredients are mostly locally sourced and the chef is endlessly inventive and remarkably consistent. We feel lucky to be a 15 minute drive away.

They really know what they are doing here, the food was inventive with some tasty twists and yet what I would call “comfort food” too. We had oysters which came with a strawberry vinaigrette, and I had the hake with sea urchin, which for me was perfect. Our waiter was really sweet too, with a good sense of humour.

One of the best restaurants in all of CT by far. If you care about quality ingredients over quantity this is the right spot for you. Locally sourced meats and produce. They do a grass fed burger from a farm up the road every Monday which is perfect. The Parpadelle was perfect, all pasta made in house. Solid cocktail program, and the housemade ice cream is to die for! Will be returning, great meal all around. Wish more restaurants sourced ingredients like they do.

My husband and I have lived in Litchfield for years and are soon moving out. We finally just went to this restaurant for dinner and are so mad we didn’t start going years ago. We absolutely loved it. Every single thing we ordered was delicious, I wouldn’t change one thing. Cooked perfectly, wonderful flavor and texture. Highly recommend for a cozy, beautiful dinner - select seasonal menu with high quality and house made/locally sourced ingredients. Truly a 10/10 experience.

We were blown away by the exceptional service. The level of professionalism was refreshing. The staff could have been trained at Downton Abby! We have found the gold standard to which all servers should be compared. The food was simply amazing. My Mole Pork Chop was tender and juicy with an unexpected, and greatly appreciated, subtle crisp on the outside. We will be back, w/ friends!!

What an amazing restaurant!! The food here is fresh and so delicious. I had the salmon and it was heavenly. Cooked perfectly and so succulent. My family and I can’t wait to go back.

That this is a well run restaraunt is evident from the parking lot to the table. I recently again had the pleasure to dine at CT. After a beautiful fall day in the county, I ordered a neat single malt from the respectable collection. We shared a few apps that were as beautiful as they were delicious. My entre was the Berkshire pork chop which was not only beautifully prepared, butter tender, but adorned with a sauce that honored the dish. The wine list is inspired with respect for the cuisine and the clientele, not the distributor, a refreshening opportunity. If you find yourself in the area, do not miss a chance to experience an above average experience.

One of the best meals I’ve had! The sourdough bread is amazing! We had the homemade pasta bolognese and the halibut. All was wonderful! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant and their talented chef!

By far the best in Litchfield County. The food was excellent—the gazpacho was to die for. The portions are just right, and the service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance: homey yet chic, with a design that’s easy on the eyes. A place you’ll want to return to again and again.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at Community Table last night. Starting with the warm sourdough bread, scrumptious grilled stone fruit and creative cocktails, we knew we were in the hands of a great staff. Our mains didn’t disappoint- the cooked to perfection steak and the trout whose crispy skin was a surprise treat. CT is our favorite place to eat when we’re in the area.

This was our first time having dinner at the Community Table. What an amazing experience! Joanne, the owner, greeted us when we arrived and is so warm and genuine. The rest of the staff is equally wonderful. EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. You can taste the love the chef puts into every one of his dishes. We started off with the homemade sour dough bread and homemade butter. Absolute perfection with a great crust and tender inside. The butter was also fabulous! We ordered gazpacho and it was so delicate yet very flavorful. The flavors lingered as if they were dancing all over our taste buds. I wish we could have brought more of it home with us. The salad was delicate with thin shavings of fennel and radish throughout and very tiny toasted homemade bread crumbs….and the dressing was light and flavorful. For our entree we ordered the striped bass with cucumber and red pepper sauce. Also very delicate and presented so artistically. The bass was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside on top of al dente vegetables. The sauce was on the bottom surrounding it and was such a pretty color of orange. We come up to the area twice every summer from NY and this has to be the best restaurant throughout Litchfield County and probably beyond. We are looking forward to returning as soon as possible! Thank you for a truly memorable evening!

I can honestly say that my last experience at Community Table was one of my best dining experiences in CT, in recent memory. I have been to this restaurant a few times and each time it was very good - but this last visit was so exceptional that I felt the need to write a review (which I rarely do)! Every single item we were presented was SO fresh, delicious, and a work of culinary art. The bread, the salad, the prix fixe menu, everything was top notch. I ordered the swedish meatballs as part of their prix fix menu, and it was INCREDIBLE. Each bite better than the last. For dessert I had a vanilla porridge which I did not expect to enjoy but it was delicious. I will be dreaming about my dinner at Community Table for many nights! 10/10

Wonderful informed and friendly service in a meticulously modern farm/tavern setting. Excellent food, inventive cocktails, and a small but dense wine list at a range of attractive prices. Desserts a tiny bit sweet would be my only adverse comment, but that didn't stop us from finishing two!

One of the best restaurants in the area. We had trout and pasta and farm to table salad fixings. Can’t be beat. Reservations are a must on holiday weekends

This was my first visit. I treated a friend for her birthday as we were in the area for a long weekend. It was our best dinner in New Preston by far. We had visited two other restaurants in the area and they were good, but this experience was next level. I made our reservation in advance, but we did need to wait a few minutes for our table to be ready, however the staff kept us updated. The food was absolutely amazing, beautifully presented, and the wait staff was very attentive and made excellent recommendations. While the food was pricey, it was worth every penny. I would highly recommend Community Table for a special occasion. I will definitely eat there again when I make it back to the area.

I have driven by this place more times than I can count & had no idea it was a restaurant until my colleague that became a very good friend told me to meet her there. It's her favorite spot. Interior is so welcoming, the staff also. They have their regulars that come in that are treated like family. Gets pretty busy for really be out in the middle of nowhere. I don't get service, but you are able to connect to their wifi. Pricing pretty high, so I'm not sure if I will return even if I wanted to!

My partner made reservations here for my birthday. This is the third time that we’ve been here and let me start off by saying that we have enjoyed this restaurant in the past. We arrived at 7:45 and we’re seated immediately. We sat in the front room along the banquette in the far right corner. There was a moldy smell in that corner almost reminded me of a dirty litter box. I couldn’t quite figure out what it was. We both started out with a French Chardonnay which was very good, I believe that was about $22 a glass. We ordered bread which was $12 to start as an appetizer along with the salad($18)with beets. The bread was pricey, but very good. The salad was also good, but there were not many beets in it. They were four small pieces of yellow beats, and the rest were thin slices of red beets. I am a meat eater so I ordered the Allen Ranch ribeye. Please look at my picture to see the size of the portion. Now I’m not a big eater, but I could not believe the size of the entrée for $46. Also, I’m just looking at the menu right now and although the description says it included Yukon gold potatoes, there were no potatoes on the plate. I have to say everything was very good but again for $46 I expected a ribeye steak on the platter, not two small pieces. I know times are tough, but this was a bit ridiculous. If it was a piece of filet mignon for $46 that might’ve been better. My partner had the salmon that he said was very good but again he said the portion size was very small. For dessert we both had the warm fallen bittersweet chocolate cake, that was very good. We would like to go back here again, but we’re going to think long and hard before we make that decision. For the two of us with the tip it was about $250.

I don't know why it took us so long to get seated when we had reservations, but after we were seated, the service from our server was outstanding. The food was really delicious. My friend ordered three starters, and then we each had an entree. Everything was delicious. When it came to dessert, my friend couldn't decide, so we got two. One of them was the lavender honey ice cream. Although it was flavorful, my friend said it tasted like a 3-wick candle from B&BW. After we finished laughing for five minutes, neither of us could stomach anymore because it really did taste like they used too much essential oil in making the ice cream. We drove an hour to get here but I don't know if the drive was worth it. The food here is good, but I've had good food (and better seating service) at other restaurants.

I have so many feelings about this restaurant. First and foremost, the food is fantastic -- truly stellar, especially for Litchfield County. You will be hard pressed to find a better meal in the area, with top-notch cocktails and delicious dishes. However, for the prices and tiny portions, one would have to expect Manhattan-level service -- and unfortunately, this is where CT falls short. Servers seem a bit inexperienced, removing dishes before they are finished without asking, or lacking polish in order-taking. Personally, I'm okay with paying $15 (!) for a couple of slices of bread (which, for the record, were excellent) -- but would expect the service to match.

M
Mahesh Paolini-Subramanya

Fresh, clear flavors in upscale fare. The food is "upscale" - presentation, styling, ingredients, etc. - but the place is more like "upscale casual". Which isn't a bad thing, given the locale - this feels like something that would be absolutely at home in Napa. All that said, you really should check the place out if you're in the 'hood... (btw, the cocktails are *outstanding*)

E
Ed Simons

Little too pricey for the amount of food you get, and the amount of choices on the menu, but very talented chef. Food was enjoyable, and the atmosphere was nice. Bread was the best part!

The food was pretty amazing. My favorite was the pheasant which had a caramelized crispy skin

Great cocktails - great food choices - farm to table - fresh ingredients. The manager definitely gives heavy preference to locals, regulars but it’s worth it to go for the food.

After our perfect dinner just four weeks ago with outstanding good food, we were very disappointed this time. The Earth's Palate Lettuces were boring, the Head on Prawns didn’t taste and the composition hardly edible. My sons Skirt Steak was tasty but the vegetables very boring again. Do you have a new Chef? The service was disappointing as well, not noticing several times that I wanted to order something although she was at the table. Overall not a nice experience for the price… It’ll take a while to try again!

J
Jonathan

Great service and ambience, lovely simple decor throughout. Staff very attentive and kind. Appetizers were great and Swedish meatball is a must. But unfortunately the Flavours in the Swordfish and Salmon entrees were lacking a great deal of taste. Disappointed for the price and won't be making a return trip any time soon.

P
Pascale Look

I heard good things of Community and we even drove 67 minutes each way. The experience was overall just ok. The service itself was poor - our waitress was quite surly, had no suggestions for food or drinks when I asked, seemed to know little/none about the menu, was very rude about, and even made a very obvious grimace at us when we tried to order just appetizers and not the whole course. The food itself was decent - the venison was fantastic, cooked well, but some elements seemed to be afterthoughts. The halibut was blah - bland, tough and chewy, and the acidic slaw was dumped in a heap directly atop the creamy sauce, which destroys the contrast element of the dish. For the price we paid, I feel neither the food quality nor the service are commensurate, and I would not come back.

P
Pete MMC

Disappointed with the experience. We were seated in the back room, at a large table, and were told no one would be seating with us. Back room quickly filled and a few minutes later, we were already sharing the table with a large party. A very noisy experience and it was pretty hard to have a conversation without being loud. We were hoping for a better experience so I cannot fairly make any comment on the food.

S
Steven Zausner

A little bit of the Hamptons in the Litchfield Hills, but not in a good way. Poor service (a busperson growled at us "Finished?" as he dragged a plate he was removing across my shoulder), loud patrons (think Greenwich Village on a Saturday night), and outrageous prices given the quality of the food (mediocre--and one of our entrees came out cold) and size of the portions (tiny). I would say that they have a two-tiered service system (one for locals; one for weekenders), as others have commented, but I am a local, and still received terrible service ;).

R
Rich Peterson

We've been eating at CT for years, but our most recent visit will be our last. The food has become mediocre and overpriced. Our peach and nectarine appetizer featured unripened, hard fruit and the beet appetizer was bland and tasteless. My wife's pork was tough and overcooked making it almost inedible. The only highlights of our meal were the sea trout and the service. We won't be back, especially since Arethusa al Tavolo, which is right down the road, has become what Community Table used to be.

D
David Cook

Been waiting for years to eat here and was very disappointed. Watercress soup ($17.00) was overworked and muddy. Three small Oxtail croquettes were ok, but for $23.00 one might expect the flavors would be more than mediocre. Charred eggplant ($18.00) was nothing special. Homemade fettuccine ($44.00) was also nothing special. Theoretically it contained crab and wild nettles (not yet up in this area in late March so not sure how they could be local), but the flavor of chili was the dominated the dish. The best part of the meal was their bread which was delicious, but $15.00 for five slices of bread? With tip the damage was $460.00 for four people which would be fine if the chef was creating food that makes you go “wow, that’s amazing” when you taste it. Not one of us reacted that way.
