Never have I ever been disappointed. Always a great experience. Service on point. Everything delicious. Atmosphere classic NY. I love their chocolate bruno. I will always come back :)
We came in late at night but got seated without any wait, even though the place was still lively and full of people. We had the chilled lobster, crab cocktail, mezzo ball soup, and paella—and every dish was excellent. Super fresh seafood, comforting soup, and a really flavorful paella. It was our first meal after arriving in NYC late at night, and honestly, it couldn’t have been a better start to the trip.
This place does not disappoint! My 16 year old wanted to go for his birthday dinner and it was well worth it. Food was delicious, service was unmatched…. Absolutely recommend the fried chicken and pu pu platter
The best duck breast I've ever had! My wife had the paella, and it was both huge and delicious. The service was top notch. Quarters are a little tight, but comfortable.
Fantastic food. Most of the dishes were simple but flavors and techniques are done very well. The marrow and marmalade is one of the more complex dishes and is done so nicely. I saw the fried chicken coming out of the kitchen many times and i wished i had ordered it. Service was really good and the atmosphere is nice, not too loud. Great place for a celebration or date night.
One of the only places you can get a great meal after midnight and one of my favorite restaurants regardless of time. One of my favorite steak tartares in the city. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Always busy with great energy. They are so accommodating with food and reservations, call if they don't have anything online.
Okay, so this review is exceptionally overdue, but we are here now so let’s get into it. Back on July 9th, my brother took me to Blue Ribbon, and listen… this spot had been on my list for YEARS. I remember seeing it on TV, hearing people rave about their fried chicken, and then to top it off—one of my favorite chefs and mentors-from-afar, Bobby Flay, loves Blue Ribbon. So of course, it has been bookmarked in my brain forever. So, my brother hits me up like, “You want to go to dinner?” I’m like, absolutely. Then he follows it with, “I’m taking you somewhere with some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had.” And if you know anything about us—you know we do not play about fried chicken. At all. This is serious business. And because my brother is a foodie just like me, I trust his palate 100%. So we go. I’m ready to decompress, enjoy good food, have a whole moment. And when I tell you Blue Ribbon did NOT disappoint? Baby… they delivered. That fried chicken was crunchy, crispy, seasoned beautifully, and cooked to absolute perfection. Golden, crisp skin on the outside, juicy, tender chicken on the inside—everything you want fried chicken to be. And then they bring out this honey sauce… oh my God. Drizzle me in it. Let me bathe in it. It is sweet, warm, silky perfection and I want it on everything. I paired mine with mashed potatoes and gravy, and let me tell you something—those mashed potatoes were creamy. Like, CREAMY creamy. The kind that makes you close your eyes for a second. They came with greens (don’t ask me which ones because I genuinely cannot remember), but everything on that plate was delectable. We got appetizers too, because why not? It was my first time trying escargot, and listen—Blue Ribbon might have created a convert. I was skeptical, but those little snails in that garlic butter sauce? Delicious. Squeeze a little lemon on them? Even better. I would absolutely order them again. We also had the fried oysters, which were just as delicious. Even the bread service was good. Warm bread, soft butter—set the tone perfectly. Now you know your girl is not leaving without dessert. So I went for the banana split, and when I tell you it was one of the best banana splits I’ve ever had? Pure nostalgia. The vanilla bean ice cream was smooth, the strawberry ice cream had actual fresh strawberries in it, the whipped cream was perfect, the fudge, the nuts, the cherry on top—it gave EVERYTHING it needed to give. I will say the chocolate ice cream is very rich and very chocolate, and since I’m not a big chocolate girl, that part wasn’t my fave. But everything else? A win. My brother was so in love with the food that he ordered extra mashed potatoes and an extra piece of chicken. And honestly, I don’t blame him. Blue Ribbon absolutely made it onto my favorites list. That fried chicken with that honey sauce? YES. Absolutely yes. I will 100% be going back. If you haven’t been, go. Trust me.
FABULOUS!!! So many choices! We had lamb, beef, chicken, catfish, and 2 types of oysters. We also had a banana split, chocolate sundae, and vanilla ice cream. All were fantastic. The service could not have been better. I had a bit of a cough and they brought my hot water with lemon and honey without me even asking for it!
A guy I was dating told me about how orgasmic the beef marrow and oxtail marmalade is. So I had to try it! It was absolutely delicious, very tasty and very soft. James, the bartender was so personable, attentive, and nice. I loved him, will definitely come back to see him. He suggested the crème brûlée and it did not disappoint. It was the best I have had in years. It was thick and creamy. I highly recommend both dishes (beef marrow and dessert). The place it self is small and narrow, but very well staffed and service was fantastic. This makes for a great date spot, or just a night out with friends.
I couldn't have asked for anything more from this dining experience. The dishes align with reasonable expectations. Blue Ribbon Brasserie maintains standards admirably. Workers acted promptly, competently, and in a friendly way. This place offers clear benefits to diners.
Blue Ribbon Brasserie – Our Soho Staple From the very first time we dined at Blue Ribbon Brasserie in Soho, we knew—we found our neighborhood restaurant. The warmth of the owner and manager is something rare in New York. Every time we walk in, no matter how last-minute or late it is, we’re always greeted like regulars. The atmosphere? Always a perfect 10/10—whether it’s 10pm or 1am, the energy is vibrant, lively, and full of charm. It’s packed with good vibes and great people, yet the service never misses a beat: fast, attentive, and genuinely kind. We feel lucky to have a spot like this right in our neighborhood. Even when we don’t have a reservation, the manager often finds a way to accommodate us. And the food? Consistently excellent. Their escargots, shrimp cocktail, New York strip, and ribeye are always on point—never once disappointing. The cocktails are just as impressive. Blue Ribbon has become our go-to—month after month, it’s a ritual. It’s not just a meal, it’s part of our life in Soho
I first tried bone marrow at this original Blue Ribbon location over 2 decades ago. The iconic NYC institution is still excellent, using the best quality ingredients, freshest seafood for their raw bar towers, great old school NY service (a rarity these days) and a delicious cocktail and wine selection. We sat outside in the outdoor dining which was perfect on a nice weather evening. Best fried oysters ever, and don't sleep on the skate!
We went here on the recommendation of a friend. It’s expensive, but you get what you pay for. The ceviche was probably the best I’ve ever had, and the oysters were super fresh, tasty, and well-shucked. We had a few drinks, but the cucumber mocktail far and away stood out with its cool and refreshing flavor. The oxtail bone marrow is very interesting and definitely worth trying. The service was also top tier. Side note: the kitchen stays open super late! Our reservation was for 1:00am, and I don’t think the kitchen closed until at least 2:00am.
Blue Ribbon Basserie- is a true gem. It is a small quaint upscale restaurant. Behind the thick velvet red curtain lies a bar, and restaurant that will definitely take you by surprise. I asked myself, why hadn't I been here sooner. If you're in the mood to splurge, and treat yourself, try the Blue Ribbon Royale. Which consists of the finest Kaluga caviar, lobster, raw clams, oysters, shrimp cocktail, crab cocktail, and 2 shots of premium vodka... The fried chicken was the healthiest fried chicken I have ever had, mashed potatoes were amazing. This hidden gem is in the heart of SoHo. The staff are equally amazing as is the food!
Came to BRB for our first dinner in NYC. The food was incredible. We ordered the calamari and escargot to start. The calamari was probably the best I have ever had. It was cooked and served in this incredible broth. The escargot also did not disappoint. Sadly they don't offer bread to dip into the broth. We had asked for bread and it came after. For our next course we ordered the Basque paella. I have no words to describe this. It was perfectly cooked with fresh mussels, claims, calamari and shrimp. The chicken thighs and chicken sausage were a pleasant surprise as it is typically pork (Which I don't eat). The portion was huge and I wouldn't have ordered another dish if I knew it was that big. Finally we ordered the striploin with mushrooms. The steak was cooked to perfection. My critiques are their drinks. The cocktails ordered were horrible and had to force ourselves to finish them. Ordered their old fashion and a goose martini. Both terrible. The place was bumping for a Friday night. Tables are too close and it was a bit too warm.
