Cheap drinks and no frills. A great hideaway from the craziness of Ninth Ave.
$4 drinks make DBL a perfect pregame bar!
Great vibe, cheap drinks, and *two* disco balls..
Had fun getting drinks with a sexy young group of men.
Small place, so crowded but cheap drinks!
Cool bartenders and great drink prices
Perfect place to sit with a group of friends and just let time slip away.
I thought this was a great late night stop. Friendly and welcoming.
Best gay bar in HK if you want to chill outside with a drink. Pet friendly!
Very casual atmosphere, outdoor seating, CHEAP drinks. Great local bar!
A homely place to hang out with friends and watch fun TV shows while getting drunk. Nothing out of the ordinary for a bar.
Love the cheap drinks, service and atmosphere! My go to bar before I start my night in HK.
"Dive Bar Lounge," it's all in the name - it's your scene or it isn't. Personally, I love it (except when it's packed - takes forever to get to the bathroom)
Do Not bring children here. It's a gay bar. It is great. Keep it gay. Thank you
Exactly what it says relaxed watering hole. Good service. Local bar. Enjoy yourself
Best place for a nice and not overwhelming atmosphere with cheap drinks and nice bar tenders.
A favorite place to go out! Great drink options and prices!
Great frozen margarita machine! Nice diverse crowd and a tolerable music volume
A strait older W/M good energy and cheap drinks in N Y C give it a try just don't judge !!!
Great, cheap dive bar. Some bartenders are douche bags
$4 well drinks in Hell's Kitchen. What more do you need to know? Has some nice outdoor space and a few couches inside, but tends to fill up weekend nights. Great way to start a night out!
Im a solo traveler and my first time in NYC. Stopped in for a drink on my first night, and I have been back every single day. Customer service is amazing and even on my second day they remembered what I drank. Lloyd was by far superb and one of the nicest and greatest bartenders I have ever met. Everyone was extremly friendly including Cat the security person. I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND THIS PLACE. Very laid back, relaxing, comfortable and everyone is friendly. A true credit to its owner and management style. Thank you for making my first NYC trip a blast!
Dive Bar Lounge. Great prices and bartenders are fast. Great starting out place, can get packed but usually thins out. Becomes awesome place to chill for cheap.
I love the $5 frozen margaritas. They're so frothy, and u can taste the liquor. Oytside seating is nice. Usually my goto for a night cap.
Good drinks and great prices with a welcoming environment and friendly staff
Great neighbourhood gay bar in HK. Really welcoming, strong drinks and friendly bar staff… worth a visit
Cheap drinks. Great service. Solid bar. Good times.
I love this place. Small but so good to have a drink always happy hour 24/7
Great neighborhood bar....terrific drinks and like Hernando's Hideaway....you never know who you'll run into here!
I love coming here for happy hour with friends. Service is always a mixed bag.
The young stallion with glasses was friendly, the music was at a great talkable level. Also, great pour.
It is exactly what it says, Dive Bar Lounge. Nothing beats the prices here, the patio was a great addition, hope it stays for good.
They are known for cheap drinks. But they also have cute gays most of the time, and a low key atmosphere.
Fun "hole in the wall" vibe gay bar. V on brand. Drinks are surprisingly cheap for the neighborhood. Staff is always attentive and FA$T! The dance floor here gets crowded and hot, but they play good music. This is the perfect place to start your night.
Found this place on Google and we went to check it out. Great neighbor hood gay bar. The drinks were cheap and the bartender Brian was AWESOME!! He was friendly. personable and made great recommendations for dinner and COOKIES!!! . Looking forward to the next visit.
Best night of my life, but if I can change one thing? Bigger area, it is severely crowded. But you're too busy having a good time to notice. Great drinks by the way too. In case you didn't notice, it's a gay club so be aware. As a straight woman, I had a wonderful time.
Great neighborhood vibe bar in the heart of Manhattan! Great atmosphere and even better 4 $ drinks. Beautiful! The security guys were a little too bitchy about the no drinka outside. Still give it 5 stars tho.
Please make sure you tip your bartender $2-3 per drink. They sell drinks for $4, so the pencentage tip rules don’t apply.
Really great specials her. I am partial to the $5 Frozen Margaritas. Ask for Pedro, he is a super great guy! Get there before 11 because the patio crowds up really quickly.
I had to leave a review just because I’m so gagged people said they have bad service? Our bartender was so nice, the drinks are cheap, and it’s a cute little bar. It was definitely slower and barely anyone was here, but it’s also 9:30pm on a Monday.
🌈Safe space and bar ; strong yet affordable drinks with kind staff and bartenders. It’s dark with great music playing with a small open space for dancing/socializing. Fun place to go in Hells Kitchen.
Love coming here during the summer, great outdoor seating and fast service, really good prices on any drink. Friendly staff.
Low key dive gay bar. Staff are always friendly. Drinks are always the cheapest in HK. Always a good time to be had. Love the outdoor seating. It’s nice to have some air
Can’t beat the price. Vibe is great for a group. Plenty of outdoor seating for large groups. We spent $163 for two hours of drinks for seven people.
A lovely dive bar, with a charming staff, the bar is very cozy on the inside and has perfectly covered seating outside. It has definitely become a go to spot for me and with the prices they can't really be beat. Looking forward to many more visits!
A cute small place, I appreciate that the music isn’t too too loud. Good prices! And I love any bar with a frozen drink 😄 Good place to start the night.
Love the relatively inexpensive drinks at this gay dive bar
cheap drinks and a young crowd, good pop music
Great little dive bar with great drink specials..
Frose. Outdoor seating. Skippable if it's not a beautiful day out
I always forget that these guys have the cheapest drinks in Hell's Kitchen. It's refreshing to go out and spend less than $20!
Friendly, cute and attentive staff and a relaxed yet festive atmosphere. Good prices. Local crowd.
Cheap yet decent selection of beers with outdoor seating and throw back music
Cheap drinks, chill crowds, and outdoor seating make this a good spot to meet up with your friends.
Great outdoor patio and amazing happy hour prices make this a neighborhood gem!
Inexpensive drinks in a jovial atmosphere. Younger crowd that fluctuates in size.
great happy hour
Cheap drinks, any day or time. Weekends get crowded, but it's always a chill place to come on a buck.
Cheap drinks good vibe, nice mix of people.
Great price for drinks, love the outdoor seating. I only gave 4 stars because there are no food options for vegans/vegetarians. How about some chips or fries?
This place is pretty reliable. Cheap drinks (most of the time) and a good patio for outdoor drinking. Not much more than that but it's a good chill place.
Small bar, never seems too crowded, but friendly staff. Great place to meet your friends for a drink to kick off a night of bar hopping
$4 Stellas. What else to say? Gets too crowded and noisy on weekends.
Fun vibe. It's a smallish bar but people seem to come here to start their night. It's also enjoyable to sit outside when they have it set up.
Basic gay bar. Good staff, nice space, strong drinks. In nice weather you can sit outside.
Great $5 frozen margaritas! A nice place to meet up with friends and sit outside when the weather is nice
Cheap drinks, occasional flip cup, large outdoor tables. DBL is a welcome addition to the 10th Ave gay bar scene in HK.
The place wasn't my favorite. The people there weren't the best and it was very crowded. I dunno, not the best place really.
Wasn't here long enough to really say anything constructive. I do recall getting a free shot because there was confusion over the happy hour offers.
Gay dive bar, really nothing special. Don't drink their frozen margs except if you're drunk and can't do otherwise.
Some decent deals. Nice outdoor area. Crowd is clicky. Staff is solid.
Frozen Margz are good ... good music mature vibe ... not always the most inviting ... but once one get settles its a friendly crowd ... bartenders tend to get a little too caught up in conversation with flies it often take a long time for me to get a drink 😞 i stagger my visits.
The bar was okay. Nice crowd. I didn't appreciate the bartender (older bald guy) keeping my change without my permission and adding it to his tip charge.
Not sure what’s going on with their draft beer situation, but it ain’t right. Didn’t think it was possible to mess up beer until I came here
bartender never told me the price for the 2 drinks I ordered .a basic screwdriver and a scotch and soda. Took well over 6-7 minutes to get . Never even said their name. Never again.
Honestly it's a terrible place I didn't have a great time
Weakest drinks in Hell’s Kitchen! Had both single and double vodka soda. Only tasted soda!
The service was superbad. The old man working there is very rude with the worse attittude. I will never go back there
Bad music, bad attitudes, and bad drinks. At least the drinks are cheap.
this bar is owned by mr. biggs on w43 and 10th. i agree with other reviewers. i question why i get serviced as a white male but their bartender won't acknowledge or serve minorities. Not like this place is ever busy or packed. So why the nasty shade?! Walk across the street to hardware, barrage, Ritz, industry, etc for a more inclusive atmosphere. Avoid this dump
One of the bartenders was racist, nasty, and denied drinks to customers based on their ethnicity EVEN WHEN THEY ALREADY PAID. I witnessed a bartender snatch a drink away from a customer and throw their money back in their face along with the words, "I don't need your kind here." Do not come to this place unless you want to be profiled or denied service before you are even given a chance to tip. Would give zero stars if possible.
Horrible service. Too attentive to their "friends". Good for cheap drinks but that's all they have going for them. Would give a zero for how they treat their patrons, but a rating must be given.
This place has really went downhill! The drinks are very weak! Ordered two margaritas on the rocks for me and my friend and there was barely any alcohol in them. Charged me $38 for them, of course I didn’t tip!
I normally have a great experience at this bar and all of my friends love DBL. However, yesterday one of the servers ended up losing my card, and claimed I never gave it to him even though I was the first person in the group to show up. I ended up getting a $60 charge on my card from a "Noodle House" downtown that I had to call to dispute, thanks to whoever ended up with my card. No apologies from the bar. Very, very disappointed no one even took ownership of their mistake. Will not be going back.
I wish I could give this place no stars! Stood at the bar with my two friends and watched the "bartender", a husky man with glasses take care of other people's orders then took a step back and comfortably leaned himself up against the register. Had to wait for the other bartender to come from his station to take our order. ***We didn't feel welcomed by the staff or the people that clearly frequent. Won't be going back. ***
IF YOU’RE BLACK, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Despite seeing all the negative reviews me and my friends decided to give this place a chance during a bar crawl on my bday. All I can say is that all the negative reviews are completely accurate. The bartender (this bald guy with glasses that seems to be celebrity in these reviews) was extremely rude to everyone in my group EXCPET for my white boyfriend…. Funny how that works. He ignored my friends and then when he finally gave them the time of day, yelled at them for taking pics and placing a small purse on the bar (to pay, mind you!), and initially refused to remake an incorrect order. Funny again how that order only got remade when my boyfriend complained but when my black friend complained he was argued with… it’s so sad to see lgbtq+ spaces not only participate in racism but then also excuse it! Because when my boyfriend complained to the manager the only excuse he could come up with for his racist employee was that “maybe he’s having a bad night”…. I don’t know in what world it’s acceptable to take out your bad mood on your patrons let alone how a bad mood translates to treating your black customers poorly and disrespectfully but this clear display of dismissal just proves that racism is welcomed inside those four walls.
Bartender Kevin or Evyn sucks lol we were the only two patrons in the bar asked if we could play a song and he said no then Played wicked four times in a row and left to smoke 🤣 my friend and I enjoyed singing to one another, best personal broadway show of my life 🤣
Do not go here if you don’t want your money stolen by the bartender. I’ve been a loyal customer of DBL and Mickey Spillanes (same owner) since I moved to NYC 10 years ago. Always great hospitality, prices, and atmosphere. On Friday evening, November 7th, 2025, I went to DBL and bought two double vodka sodas and it came to $16 which I know was the total from my friend buying the first round. I gave the bartender a $20. He gave me the drinks, took the $4 in change out and put it in his tip bucket. I tried to get his attention to give me my change and he actively ignored me. It might be $4, but it’s still stealing. And the funny part is - I was prepared to tip him more than my change. Do not go here. I can only imagine what scam is being run by this person on credit cards. What a horrible disappointment after years and years of wonderful experiences. I’m so sad to not be able to go here ever again, but the trust is broken, and I’ll make sure to get the word out.
Terrible service. I came in because it was my first time in New York. I came in and the bartender was rude and said, "If you don't have anything else, leave." I told him, "I just got here, what's wrong with you?" Terrible service.
Bartender is terribly rude and slow. Cheap drinks but I rather pay more for better service.
Bouncer shut the door right as we pulled it and said they were closed. Once we walked away he let some other guy in. Don’t know if it was because we were non-white or had women in our group
Went yesterday 10/7. ignorant bar tender. not interested in his job or the customers. too busy eating
We stopped by Bar 3.30pm on May 3rd and had a disappointing experience. We asked the bartender if they had frozen margaritas, and he responded in a very unfriendly manner, saying they didn’t have it. We still considered staying and asked if they had other drinks. His response? “You can go to the bar across the street.” When we asked if they had an IPA, he once again said no — still with the same dismissive attitude. Throughout the entire exchange, he was more interested in chatting with his friend at the bar than engaging with us. It was clear he didn’t want us there and made no effort to offer alternatives or be welcoming in any way. We were a group of three, polite and open, but left feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable.
Asked a few questions but didn’t know what to order. Bar tenders proceeded to ignore me and my friend and take everyone’s order who walked up, I made eye contact to tell him I was ready when he had a minute. I didn’t get to open my mouth before he snapped and said he was doing something. Super rude, place smells and and is dirty. Which makes sense it’s a dive bar but yeah service sucked.
Have been here multiple times and it is alwayssss unpleasant, impersonal service, & stuffy. Security was standing 20 feet away from the entrance and when I walked up to the door he yells at me from the street corner. Bar staff yelled at us for dancing and being loud. It’s 12am at a (pretty much empty) bar what do you expect.
the bald barman with glasses was so aggressive and confrontational when we got confused about tipping and instead of trying to listen to us to solve the issue his first response was threatening to kick us out of the bar (mind you we never even raised our tone or said anything rude we were just confused about how we had tipped since we’re not from the US). really bad vibes from him the bar was okay but we didn’t feel welcome at all
