Avis sur Eli's Night Shift New York
Such a gem! They have an incredible local beer selection and the open-air layout makes it the absolute perfect spot for a breezy afternoon pint. Huge shoutout to Jonathan—the service was top-notch. Also, do not sleep on the buffalo wings; they are massive and delicious. Honestly, we’re already jealous of anyone who lives nearby. We need a spot like this in our neighborhood!
Easy neighborhood spot for a drink. Felt cozy enough for a casual hang on a Sunday afternoon.
True local spot with the best gluten free pizza I have ever had. It was so good I momentarily lost consciousness. When I came back to life I realized it wasn’t a dream and that the perfect gf pizza does in fact exist. In addition to the amazing pizza they have an excellent wine selection and everything is cooked to perfection. The service was excellent, and the casual atmosphere was unreal.
Have you ever wanted crunchy but not burnt food? If you do, go to Night Shift. One reason I LOVE Night Shift is that I get to sit at the window and see everything. One time I was waiting for my food and I saw 16 boxes while waiting for chicken fingers and mozzarella stick’s. Another reason is because of the servers and the service is awesome! For example one time I was at my table about to die and I had my food in about 5 to 7 minute’s . It was so crazy! The last and best reason is that when walk in they offer water food at the same time Yep, you heard me. This is an awesome all the time because it’s so crowded because everyone likes it. So I hope you agree with me that Night Shift is the best restaurant to go to on a cold chilly night. One more thing do you know how everything is connected to Eli ‘s so is Night Shift. Go there now! (Elliot, a second grader)
I happened by this place on a Sunday evening when we were looking for a chill place to drink. First of all, I absolutely love the layout and ambiance. It is casual but nice and there are seats along the perimeter that would be great for people watching during the day (which I plan to do once it's warmer out). Second of all, the cocktails are beautifully crafted. There was a nice selection, and the bartender took his time to craft them. I had the Mac and cheese croquettes as well, which were very tasty and not overly greasy or anything. Finally, this place wasn't blasting music and overall the place was at a nice volume to be able to have a conversation, which me and my husband loved. I'll definitely be back here, maybe during the day since it's in my neighborhood.
Great atmosphere on a busy intersection. I thought their drink menu was well curated however it was pretty disappointing to get a beer in a small glass. Definitely a bit of shrinkflation. If I’m ordering a draft beer and it’s not coming as a pint, it needs to list the ounces on the menu.
I had food delivered, and it arrived very cold. I ordered the Margherita pizza, which was the smallest I’ve ever had—but also one of the best. I also got a bowl of fries. The food is good, but the portions are very small, and the prices are quite high.
⭐⭐⭐⭐🙏HONEST REVIEW🙏⭐⭐⭐⭐ It was a cold night in the city with a few friends. We made our way uptown and not being a "new yorker" one of my nyc buddies said "let's hit this spot up they have some great local brews".. Being from Jersey I was a little ambivalent on what's called "local brews". Why not, I said.. We all went into "Eli's night shift" but on the outer door you won't see anything that indicates "night shift". All you'll find is a neon sign that says "Eli's bar" or soemthing of that nature. The night shift signs you'll come across all inside so don't let it confuse you... Ambience: ⭐⭐2 out of 5 stars. This is you're typical small NYC tight bar/eatery. Wooden barstools, shakey tables and cramped up eatery. Ask for a table for two, you'll get a table for six, with elbows hitting you. The place tries it's best to make it comfortable but it's use of space is so limited that trying to be comfortable or eat comfortable would make you feel uncomfortable. Honestly I thought it was trying to hard. Not sure if this place even cares about comfort. The heat was just blaring on my face, if you have a seat in the outer area (which is still indoors) but it was so bad I had wipe my face cause it was so hot. Not a place I'd be for drinks. I think they need to work on it. The decor is well, "hey get some chalk boards, write a few craft drinks, make the writing look nice and we're hip". Seems like this was the trend throughout the restaurant. So if this your thing, go for it. I wouldn't take a date here unless I knew she was the hipster type or someone who didn't care where we went. Now I know it isn't supposed to be classy but still, it didn't sit right with me... ⭐⭐Two stars. Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5 stars. Server's were always on point. I came in looking for a craft beer that was more of an oatmeal stout flavor and was pleasantly recommended an alternative that was a treat to my pallet. She knew exactly everything about the beer to the T. It's very rare you find someone who knows what they're talking about when it comes to craft beer. If you've made this far into the review then you remember my mention of the "heat blaring on my face", well they accommodated me for some time and turned the heat off which scored them some points but in no time it was put back on and me a few friends got hot again. No points taken cause service was pretty top notch. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars granted. Food/Drinks: ⭐⭐⭐⭐4 out of 5 stars. Here's where the review ends short and I'm sorry to end it on such a cliff hanger. We tried a few appetizers from guacamole n chips to French fries and honestly it was all fresh. Unfortunately I didn't get to try their oysters or any of the seafood cause we came in late but from what I'm told it's usually on point. I will follow up with a full food review by next week. Drinks as I mentioned earlier were made perfectly and on point. To the owner of the establishment great job on the staff and service. This is definitely a place I'll come back to for local craft brews and I'm salivating on what the rest of the food is like. Would be a perfect 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 but those heaters, elbow hitting and tables need a little work. Other than that overall: 🌟🌟🌟🌟4 OUT OF 5 STARS!!! 🍻 Cheers👍
Food, atmosphere, service, etc -- all good. But no reason for the food to be as expensive as it is, in this low-key-vibe kind of place. $26 Burger? (I did not have that, so who knows if there is indeed something tremendously special about it..?) $26 chicken nachos? (I did have that -- it's just alright, and a small portion even regardless of the exorbitant price..) And draft beers are in glasses much smaller than a pint -- just like with pricing, that definitely is their prerogative... I know it's NYC, but those prices are still surprisingly high for what the place is..
Food is fine and the selection of beers on tap is good. However, if you order beers or cider on tap you don't get a full pint and cocktails are also small in size, but the price is not. If you looking for any sort of value, then this is not the place for you. The expansion of their space due to the change in outdoor dining allowances has made the place more comfortable when it is crowded. There is one bathroom and the night I was there is was absolutely disgusting. I couldn't believe that a place that charges so much for food and drinks and clearly is looking to cater to an UES crowd would be so dirty. I hope that they are sticking to a higher standard in their kitchen.
Great food and drinks! Fast service too. Definitely higher priced menu for a more casual experience, so I don’t think we’d go back for food. Admittedly the quesadilla portions were absolutely pitiful for $19. It looked like an appetizer plate, definitely should work on that. Otherwise we enjoyed the meal there.
Terrible service from obnoxious male bartender. Not a bar to come back to.
I would not recommend this place. It’s in a good location and has a nice curb appeal but our experience was nothing short of terrible. We got there and were able to order a drink but after that no one came back to us to take our order (we waited for 20 minutes and there were maybe 5 other patrons there). We even had to flag the waiter down to get our check because we were sick of waiting to order our food. In conclusion, it made sense there was basically no one there. The lack of service ruined our experience and we will not be going back. Hopefully the restaurant can take this feedback and make improvements to stay afloat..
