Avis sur Fig & Olive New York
Wonderful service and wonderful food! We we're celebrating for my bachelorette and everything was great. I usually frequent the location in the meatpacking district so this was my 1st time at the midtown one. We got an order of the crostinis to start with and every single one was better than the next. Our entrees were the kind of y that your eyes roll to the back of your head and our desserts were beautiful, rich and decadent. I can't wait to go back!
Had lunch at Fig & Olive for the first time today and was very impressed, I see why this place is packed all of the time as the food is delicious! Had the tuna sandwich in particular, and it was out of this world. The service at the bar was fantastic, too. We'll definitely be returning to Fig & Olive in the near future. Highly recommended!
5pm starts seating upstairs. They have a few appetizers and small plates and entrees. They are all pretty small so good for one person or get multiple to share. We had a light bite. Beet humus and the lamb & couscous with the fig and olive drink. All was amazing flavors and the right amount of spices.
Dining at Fig & Olive was such a pleasant experience from start to finish. Every single item on the menu is crafted to perfection with the highest quality ingredients, intricately added to each dish. Everything is there for a reason and tastes absolutely amazing. Even the salad was one of the best salads we ever had. Keep in mind that the food takes some time to prepare, but I guess that’s how you know that everything is being made fresh! Do not miss Fig & Olive!
Stopped in and were quickly seated on a Monday night. Fantastic dinner! The Mediterranean tacos reminded me of mooshu. I think it was the fennel. They were incredible. Delicious mix of flavors. The mushroom croquettes were perfectly crispy outside and creamy inside. The fruit topped lebneh and hot pita were sweet and tart, with crunchy, chewy, and creamy textures. The combination of the burrata with beets and apples was so good. Mixing it with the lebneh and pita was so good, as well!
Great fresh food at this location. Went for birthday Lunch for my daughter and she really enjoyed herself. We had the most amazing waiter in the world. He was so engaging and made us all feel like we alone at the restaurant and he was just giving us too notch service. Kudos! We tried a wide variety of appetizers and entrees and every single one was delicious. The dips are all amazing they are a must try. Definitely recommend if your in the area. I will definitely be coming back to try the dinner menu. Cheers!
We had a nice time. Easy walk from our hotel in Park Lane - a great location! Ambience was great - we were shown quickly to our table and provided with menus. Service could have been a tad quicker but nothing to complain about really as it was a busy Friday evening. The Burrata starter was nice - but could’ve done with more burrata and less squash. Had the vegetarian pasta with mushrooms which was quite decent. My friend really liked the burger. We had cocktails with the starter and a glass of California Chardonnay with the mains. Portions were quite large so we didn’t have dessert. Overall would recommend.
We were in NYC to watch the Radio City show and my sister recommended this restaurant and I am so glad that we tried it! The place is big and busy, very clean and cozy! The service was great, we had reservation so we had table in couple of minutes and the food came out quickly and fresh and delicious! The menu is very small and I think it’s great! The flavor was amazing, definitely worth the price!
The food was good I just don't know if it's worth the price. They did have a good twist on some traditional dishes. Some of the staff was friendly others not as much as they made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. Over all I would recommend trying them as their twist on dishes is unique. Just don't think we'd go more than once.
Good Mediterranean Food I had in a while. 1. Definitely try to truffle croquettes! One of the best croquettes I had 2. Good ingredients their olive oil is really fresh and amazing, making their food also amazing. 3. Wait time was too long It took 40minutes from appetizers plates taken from main dish served.
My friends and I ventured to Fig and Olive for a special Valentine's Day dinner, and while the overall experience was pleasant, there were a few areas where things could be improved. The Positives: - Ambiance: The restaurant absolutely nailed the romantic atmosphere. The dim lighting, elegant décor, and comfortable seating created a perfect backdrop for our special evening. - Service: Despite a few hiccups, our server was friendly and attentive. They were quick to address any requests we had and genuinely seemed invested in our experience. - Food Portions: While the flavors weren't mind-blowing, the portions were generous, ensuring we left feeling comfortably full. Areas for Improvement: * Food Quality: We ordered the prefix menu for Valentine's Day. While the food wasn't bad, it lacked the "wow" factor we expected from a restaurant of this caliber. The flavors felt a bit muted and the dishes could have benefited from some bolder seasoning or more innovative combinations. * Operational Flow: Unfortunately, our experience was marred by a few logistical hiccups. Running out of bread right at the start set a slightly off-putting tone, and my friend's order arriving slightly incorrect further impacted the flow of the evening. Additionally, the wait times for food felt longer than expected, especially considering the restaurant wasn't overly busy. Overall: Fig and Olive offered a charming ambiance and friendly service, but the food quality and operational flow need some refinement to truly live up to its potential. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback to help them elevate their offerings and provide a consistently excellent dining experience for future guests ❤️
Came for the NYC Restaurant Week menu. Had a great dinner night here. Drinks were good (so good that i drank them before even taking a picture), the cucumber cosmo was a very tasty variation of this classic. Food was tasty, only ordered the vegetarian options and they didn’t disappoint. Wasn’t a big fan of the Lemon & Olive Oil Cake, although it’s a good option for those who don’t like super sweet desserts. Service was beyond perfect, our server was super sweet and the staff were always checking on us.
I have dined at Fig and Olive multiple times over the years, and it used to be a go-to spot for me, whether it was for a leisurely lunch or a late-night dinner. However, I think that the restaurant has lost its charm in recent times. While the service remains impeccable, I find that the menu and overall food quality are no longer up to par. The prices are high, but the dishes are underwhelming. The appetizers, on the other hand, stand out and overshadow the main courses. It's disheartening to see this decline, but I believe there is still hope for the restaurant to regain its former allure.I have visited Fig and Olive a few times over the years. In the past, it used to be one of my favorite spots for lunch or a late dinner. However, I feel that this place has lost its touch. Although the service is still excellent, I believe the menu and the food quality have declined. The food is expensive, but it's nothing special. The appetizers are the highlight, outshining the main dishes. It's disappointing, but I still believe there is potential for improvement to restore it to its former status.
I understand that this is family place and restaurant, maybe they trying to keep it tradicional, but food was completely tasteless 🤷🏼♀️ Drinks was okay. Not bad but still, OK. I would add some simple taste to the food. Or at least put some souses on a table for the choice. I would not really come there again. It’s hard to find good places in the city. This place could be great if only add taste to a simple regular food.
Sadly didn’t love it. We had reservations, which were not necessary. I wish when someone makes a rez they would care enough to ask where you might prefer to sit in a fairly empty restaurant. Lovely high tops available by front windows, instead we went upstairs to a tiny table in corner (albeit near window, but squished in as bench is too low for table height). Server was friendly but food was very meh. Nothing special w/ crostini (not crisp) and tabbouleh salad had very few veggies and was mostly quinoa- grain bowl, not salad. Would not recommend.
Not the place to go if you have a gluten allergy or need to be gluten free, there are so few gluten options it was almost laughable. I think it’s one of those situations where they were being overly cautious, but wow. I was the only GF at the table and we ordered the crustini’s, they all came out on Cucumber. When we asked for the original, they came out on cucumber again. The place felt a little chaotic when we first came in and even after being seated. I can’t speak to what the rest of the group got, but as a person with a gluten allergy, I would not be back.
