We stayed at several hotels in New York, and Nine Orchard was our second stop — it turned out to be one of the most memorable. The design and furniture felt thoughtful and charming, with a sense of refinement that made the space very special. I especially loved the furniture, which I believe is in collaboration with BDDW — the classic yet elegant design and spacious rooms left a strong impression. Breakfast was delightful, and in the evening I met friends who live in New York, and we had dinner together at the Corner Bar — the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The staff were consistently kind and attentive. Even though English is not my first language, they listened patiently and explained everything again in a calm and friendly manner, which made me feel very comfortable. Overall, it was such a warm and seamless experience. It reminded me of what true hospitality should feel like — genuine, attentive, and comforting.

I shot an engagement party at Nine Orchard's bar on the 14th floor. It's a great spot for a private event. You get good light and a cool view of the city for photos. It fits about 75-100 people comfortably, but any more would be a squeeze. My favorite part was the gazebo you can get to by a staircase, it makes for really unique photos. The food and drinks were good too, which always helps keep the party vibe going. I'd tell clients to check it out.

Best part of this hotel is the overall ambience. Staying here offers quite a magical experience. The location is exquisite for exploring and staying in the Dimes Square area. There are a lot of positive things about this hotel. The building itself is very beautiful and offers a true local experience. The collaborations with local art culture is impressive, from the toiletries, art , and room bar/snacks curated by Dimes. The vintage decor throughout the hotel is masterfully integrated with the buildings architectural details. The outside entrance greets you with charming swan benches and natural plantings. The staff is welcoming from the second upon arrival, from door, to front desk, swan room, corner bar, lounge, and throughout the hotel. The hotel is ultra comfortable and feels quite like a fairy tale. The rooms have quality sound with curated music that can be played during the stay. The touches in the room are very thoughtful and vintage mod. Our particular King room was impressively roomy, with a couch and tea table. There was a desk. Two large windows with designer and very thick curtains (that worked very well). Books for reading were available. The bathroom was very spacious and comfortable. Great shower, separate toilet room, and dimmable lights (including a night light feature). Bed is sturdy and comfortable with great head board. Corner legs are sturdy, strong, and solid (but exercise caution walking around bed corners it is easy to stub toes). Sound proofing is good. Some occasional outdoor street noises can be heard but they are adequately muffled and it is quite peaceful.

My stay at Nine Orchard was nothing short of amazing. First of all, the staff is very helpful and kind. They do daily complimentary chilled wine hour and the woman that was taking care of it during my stay was awesome. Also, the breakfast is yummy and included (rare now a days). Also, you get a warm cookie with new water bottles on your bed side tables every night.. Wow

My stay at Nine Orchard was wonderful! The hotel's location was ideal for exploring the vibrant Lower East Side. The room was elegantly furnished, and the service was exceptional. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic, and the high ceilings added a sense of spaciousness. The room offered a peaceful atmosphere, and I had a restful sleep. At the Corner Bar, I enjoyed a fantastic breakfast; the avocado toast was particularly outstanding.

We had the most wonderful stay at Nine Orchard during our recent NYC trip. What an utterly stunning hotel in a stylish neighbourhood. The attention to detail and respect for the site's heritage was apparent throughout the hotel. The cooked-to-order breakfast (included during the stay) at the Corner Bar was another highlight for us- that challah french toast was simply on another level. Nine Orchard was a sanctuary that we were delighted to come 'home' to.

Nine Orchard is not to be missed. The service is extraordinary, we received such a warm welcome. We had multiple delays in our flight into NY (summer storms) and arrived well past the midnight hour. The front desk was so kind and helped us with our bags… I think they could tell we were exhausted. Our room was stunning, the turn down service is exceptional… the cookies were such a surprise and quite possibly some of the best I have ever had. The beds are divine… it was so comforting to be able to crawl into bed after such a long day and feel like you were being wrapped up in a nice warm hug. We enjoyed our stay…. the staff is warm, welcoming, and cares about their guests. The surrounding neighborhood had grit and so much character. There are a ton of vintage shops, as well as wonderful restaurants. The subway lines are close. I would highly recommend nine orchard as your home base anytime you find yourself in the city.

Wow, What an amazing stay! My wife and I had fabulous staycation in Nine Orchard hotel. We really love the intimate feel of the hotel, the Corner Bar restaurant and the Swan room cocktail lounge. We liked it so much we had four meals in the hotel and the food was delicious, the servers are patient and friendly. The atmosphere makes me want to move in permanently. Our room was great too. Really nice luxury touches from fabric and texture, lighting and controls, sound and in house playlist channels, and super comfy bed! I highly recommend it for business, pleasure and everything in between!

Nine Orchard was one of the best hotel stays I have experienced. Every detail in the rooms was so thoughtful, warm, and welcoming, even down to the curated minibar (hello, local craft beer!). Not to mention the stellar sound system and playlists; I didn’t even bother playing my own music. It has a very luxurious yet homey feel. I highly recommend an evening in the Swan Room, and to take a room service-delivered dinner in the fireplace room on the second floor! I can’t wait to stay again.

My business stay at the Nine Orchard was fantastic! The quirky and cute room design added a unique touch to the experience. The staff was exceptional, and I thoroughly enjoyed the bar with its beautiful setting. Looking forward to coming back for another visit!

Nine Orchard is our oasis in Manhattan! We stayed as guests in May 2024 and returned in December 2024 to host a milestone birthday party. As noted above, the rooms, service, and location are all at the five-star level, with the best hotel shower ever! The bar/restaurant, food, and food service are also world class, with wonderfully comfortable seats. On arrival, you first notice the magnificence of the building, views, decor, and furnishings -- every detail is perfect (thanks for the wooden Q-tips), with great bed and bedding. When it came to arranging the dinner, working with everyone was easy-peasy, the room set-up with breath-taking, and the drinks and food delicious with impeccable service -- earning high praise from all of our guests! And waking up to a sumptuous breakfast was icing on the cake. But, alas, what stays with you most is the warmth and effortless know-how of the staff, whether helping with your luggage, checking you in and out, arranging your stay, preparing a menu, suggesting a champagne, describing an entree, making concierge recommendations, cleaning your room, or bidding you farewell. I cannot wait to see you all again when we return in 2025.

Staying at 9 Orchard in NYC is an experience I will never forget. The building itself is a piece of art. The common rooms are gorgeous and comfortable. The room felt meticulously curated with my comfort in mind. The attention to details was unsurpassed. Fantastic shower, bath products, comfortable bed, and beautiful appointments. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff was wonderful. 9 Orchard on the Lower East Side of Manhattan has set a new high bar for excellency.

Really delightful hotel. Small but cozy and inviting rooms. Gorgeous bar and the room upstairs is such a lovely quiet spot to work during the day. You can tell the management is incredibly detail oriented as everything is perfectly aligned, even the screws in the faceplates all face the same direction!

2025 December update: I had a great stay this time. The staff, the room and everything else were great. General Manager Matt is really professional and responsive. I would come back again when I’m in town. 2024 December -I was very excited about the hotel prior to my stay. The hotel is very charming. However, there is a roach crawling on my night stand when I was about to sleep. I freaked out and called concierge. They sent staff to remove it right away. However, I couldn’t sleep well at all.

What an incredible hotel. Not only is it beautiful, but the staff is so lovely and attentive. I was celebrating my fiancées birthday with a staycation and everyone made a point of making our night special. Thank you to Jashey, Grace and Kate in particular for making us feel so taken care of. The food and drinks were wonderful, breakfast was great, and the room was so gorgeous!! We will definitely be back for future nights out.

I decided last minute to celebrate my birthday in NYC- I researched places to stay and Nine Orchard came up in a Forbes article: "The 21 Best Hotels in NYC." After my stay, I realized that Nine Orchard isn't "one of the best"... it is "THE best." I went to Nine Orchard's website and instantly loved the simplicity and elegance of the rooms and decor. Not to mention, the Swan Room is absolutely incredible- the ceilings, mixed upholstery, and the mix of the original and updated building details were INCREDIBLE. The rooms look simple in their photos, but the details upon arrival will shock you: the ceiling height, lamps and light switches, the views, the shower pressure (I felt like I was showering under a waterfall). The mini bar is chock-full of local snacks and beverages. There is a speaker in the room, which you can connect your phone to. Upon arrival, the staff turns on the speaker so music plays when you enter your room. Each room comes with fabulous stationary and watercolor post cards of the hotel during each season. You also get a sticker of the hotel building. My birthday was during our stay and Nine Orchard surprised me with complimentary champagne. My sister also delivered flowers and the hotel staff brought them up to my room. I know this review is extensive, but this is only half of the incredible things I experienced during my stay. 100% worth the money, 100% worth it all. I will be back so soon. It felt like home away from home. Thank you Nine Orchard!!

The perfect hotel!!!! I've stayed in NYC many times, but we are already looking forward to our next trip to Nine Orchard and the Lower East Side. The friendly staff and service made us feel right at home. Every detail was so well thought out, from the beautiful linens, speaker & music in the room to the specialty minibar and in-room steamer. I felt like we had a place of our own in the city and could stay for weeks comfortably. The hotel itself is beautiful and we enjoyed taking it all in for cocktail at the bar. We had an unforgettable trip.

A Thoughtfully Curated and Exceptional Stay! As a former New Yorker now living in London, I always make it a point to stay at Nine Orchard when visiting. This hotel captures the perfect balance of elegance, comfort, and genuine warmth. Stepping into the rooms feels like coming home to your own perfectly designed flat—high ceilings, beautifully executed finishes, and thoughtful details that elevate the entire experience. Each room is incredibly well-proportioned, with well-insulated walls that keep out the city’s noise, offering a serene escape in the heart of NYC. One of the most impressive aspects is the art and decor—each room is uniquely curated with artwork and books that add a special character. These details feel so intentionally chosen, like the beautifully crafted throw on the bed from Society, which brings warmth and style. The Ojas speakers by Devon Turnbull are also a standout feature, adding an extra layer of ambiance to the space. And the staff is simply unparalleled—everyone from the concierge (special shoutout to Laurin!) to housekeeping is friendly, attentive, and genuinely seems to enjoy working here. This creates an atmosphere that feels less like a hotel and more like a community, making each stay feel so much more personal. For anyone looking for an extraordinary place to stay in New York, Nine Orchard is a gem. I genuinely look forward to my visits here and can’t recommend it highly enough!

Our stay here was superb. Our corner room had an amazing view and was perfectly appointed. There were a lot of little touches that made the stay comfortable and effortless. Loved walking into the room to the chill vibe of the music playing. Staff was great. Luxury without being ostentatious. Can’t think of a single thing that could’ve been improved. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

The views from the 11th floor of this stunning renovation were incredible. I loved the curated room music played through a seventy's speaker. The bathroom was expertly appointed, amazing water pressure in the shower. Something about being in this hotel gave me the sense and comfort of being home. High ceilings throughout. I slept soundly in the bed with very comfy pillows. I was able to enjoy breakfast and dinner at the corner bar - which I loved. The swan room was the perfect way to end the day with a nightcap. Service from the bell desk, to reception, to cleaning and dining services were a 10 out of 10. Will surely return to the hip, yet comforting Nine Orchard.

Absolute perfection!! From check-in to check-out every staff member we encountered was delightful!! Dinner at Corner Bar and dessert & cocktails in the Swan Room were both amazing and our room was gorgeously decorated and perfectly appointed. I cannot recommend a stay at Nine Orchard strongly enough and would give them 10⭐️ if it was possible. Do it! Spoil yourself and let them spoil you!

We had the best stay over Memorial Day Weekend. The room was very large and the hotel is located right in the perfect part of the Lower East Side, with great shops and restaurants on the block. The staff could not be more accommodating. Would highly recommend.

Wow! What a fantastic find! This is a very special property with a rich history. It's sophisticated without being pretentious. Just linger in the Swan Room for a bit and soak in the architecture and art - and craft cocktails and great food. My room was awesome - spacious with a comfy bed and powerful shower. And a very special touch with the sound system including curated play lists. Added to the relaxed vibe. Extremely attentive service from start to finish. The GM, Matt, was a terrific host and his staff were impeccable. Highly recommended. Looking forward to returning with the intention of becoming a 'regular'!

I can't say enough good things about Nine Orchard. Any time we come back to NY Chinatown we will be staying there from now on. Everything was great from the friendly staff that welcomes you at the door, to the ease of checking in, and the room was amazing. There was a hand written note addressed to me in my room along with everything we could need. Hospitality was always friendly and willing to answer any of our questions.

Amazing service everywhere! From check in to helping with a meeting, the crew at this hotel is spectacular. The rooms are perfectly appointed from bed linens to furniture to mini bar to sound system in the room. Top it off with a great cocktail lounge and restaurant and you can have it all in NYC. Lastly, very hip Neighborhood to dine and shop too! Will be back!

Such an amazing hotel! The neighborhood is perfect, the rooms are so well appointed and roomy, and the staff make you feel so welcomed. The vibes are immaculate! I hope to stay here anytime I come to NYC. The included breakfast is order off menu so that’s a plus too! Oh and special shout of to Lauren, the best concierge in the game, she had recommendations for anything and was just the warmest person!

I've stayed here several times, and always had an awesome experience. Reception: Probably the best group of people I've interacted with throughout my travels around the world. I don't know how they did their hiring, but every team member at reception is friendly, professional, responsive and take pride in their work. All of them deserve raises. Serge especially deserves a shoutout for always being on point with everything throughout my stays here. Also thankful for the bellboys who always offer to open doors and carry things. Cleaning service: Cleaning staff are all very friendly, and they're always professional but fast. They even give you cookies and water every evening, a small gesture but makes you feel at home. Rooms: Very well designed to invoke a sense of homeliness. I'm very sensitive to feeling uncomfortable outside of my own home, but this is the only hotel in NYC that doesn't give me that feeling. Every light's brightness can be adjusted, AC is easy to operate, furniture are sturdy and minimal which is a important point because that means they're easy to clean so you won't find uncleaned spots.

This is probably my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed in while in nyc! The rooms are incredibly well decorated, comfortable, and have everything you need. The small details, including the lighting, speaker system, and amazing soaps make all the difference. The bar and restaurant were also incredible & had amazing food/drinks and friendly staff. As someone who used to live in the city, I’ve been to my fair share of hotels restaurants/bars and these are some of my new favorites. Can’t wait to come back and stay here! 12/10

We stayed here over 4 months ago. I am still thinking about how comfortable their beds are and wondering how the heck I get one. I figured if it's been that long that I've been wishing for the same sleeping experience, I owe them a review. Everything else was wonderful too. Would recommend to everyone. Feel free to respond with how to buy one of those dang mattresses....

We recently moved out of the city after living here for years and have stayed at many of NYC’s top hotels — but Nine Orchard stands out above them all. The design is stunning, the rooms are incredibly comfortable, and the vibe is calm, elegant, and elevated. The food is phenomenal — easily some of the best hotel dining in the city. And the staff is exceptional — warm, discreet, and intuitive. Huge thank you to Chico and Lauren for making us feel so taken care of. Now that we’re based on the West Coast, this is the only place I want to stay when we come back. A true gem.

Stayed in a few hotels in NYC over the years but this is my favourite now by far. Very comfortable and quiet (which is not always the case in NYC) rooms. Complimentary breakfast was superb, staff friendly. The whole building (former bank) was purpose redeveloped with great attention to details. Absolutely loved it and will be looking forward to my next stay here.

I had the most amazing stay here at nine orchard !! Everything was so clean and organized. The beds !!! Oh my gosh, so comfortable. The location of the hotel is great being in the middle of Chinatown. Tons of delicious bars and restaurants right by. The corner bar and swan room (located in the hotel) were amazing. The food was outstanding. Elvis, our waiter was so kind and his serve was great. Management was extremely professional and so helpful. You will not be disappointed.

We had a wonderful weekend at Nine Orchard. The terrace room was spectacular and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms are the perfect mix of minimalist and charming and all the common spaces, from the Swan Lounge to the lobby make the hotel feel like a true haven. The attention to detail, from cookies and curated sound system to a proper breakfast (included) are all the things a hotel should be. Thanks for making our stay so special!

What an excellent hotel . At first glance, Nine Orchard is a very basic seeming hotel and that's because it is. Despite everything being simple it is done so well. This includes the quality of the materials used in the rooms, all the way from the doors you enter through to the linens you sleep in. It is all high quality and solid. While one's eyes might not be able see the qualities that allow Nine Orchard to feel so luxurious, I suspect it's due to the thought that has been put into the the design and materials used at the property that one feels rather than sees. Housekeeping was very thoughtful in how our disorganized clothes and other goods were arranged/rearranged during servicing and that was greatly appreciated. Service is personable and attentive without being overbearing or awkward ever. It's clear Nine Orchard is trying to satisfy what a younger audience might define as "luxury". There's no overbearing staff grabbing your bags out of your hands, but that help is offered. It's also very far from a gaudy or shiny place. If you're used to staying at the Ritz or Four Seasons and enjoy that sort of vibe, you may not love its lack of show and dance, but others like myself will find themselves perfectly happy at Nine Orchard. If I had to nitpick, I do wish water was refreshed more frequently. There was one large bottle in the room upon check-in (along with a complimentary bottle of wine) but thereafter we only received tiny water bottles at the time the rooms were serviced which just did not feel sufficient. I will happily be returning when I next need an accommodation in NYC.

We had one single night left to book in NYC after getting back from staying at the INNESS in upstate at the end of our honeymoon and lucked upon this new hotel opening. It's been beautifully restored, the attention to detail, the curation of all the spaces is truly stunning. We also ate at the Corner Bar located inside and it was wonderful, although could do with more veggie / vegan options. Sidney was a delight, such a nice employee and really helpful when checking in. The rooms were so mindfully created, the speakers / sound system and playlists were great and the touch of having a cookie left on our nightstands was lovely. Comfy beds and nice hot showers. Views from this location are really fab too, especially if you're staying in one of the rooms higher up. I think the Swan Room could do with being a little less strict about pictures, especially if you're staying as a guest - as the room is so photogenic (I think they have some prominent / celebrity clientele stay sometimes and might have decided to make this rule to protect their privacy perhaps, but for people who are interested in interiors and architecture its a bit sad to not be able to document your stay freely) It doesn't have thee most relaxing feel to it and had a slight air of snobbery (we like to stay in beautiful hotels when traveling and we personally think every space should be welcoming to everyone and not have any kind of exclusive or judgmental atmosphere - both times we went for drink we were only allowed to sit at the bar and quite firmly told about the no photo rule which isn't the best of introductions to space, does risk coming across a little stuffy and pretentious) which brings me on to something we witnessed during check out. We were waiting to leave to go to the airport and watched what we presume was a senior member of management totally berate someone from the porter or restaurant team, the tone in which she took with the employee was super uncomfortable and really disappointing to see. I hope they are treating their staff with kindness and appreciation and this one, quite toxic display of communication was a singular event - even the staff at check in looked noticeably uncomfortable after the interaction. All in all would recommend a stay here but I think the internal culture needs a bit of a review and an attitude change amongst some members of staff.

What a beautiful hotel, in a super spot - right in the thick of it in lower east side. Brooklyn is super accessible, and so many great bars and restaurants on your doorstep. The spec of the hotel and the design is some of the best we’ve ever seen - some real thought and money have been spent here! The only drawback we felt was the front desk staff were underwhelming given the quality and expense of the hotel, which was a slight let down. On check-in we were told certain things would be followed up on which never were. At similar priced hotels in NYC we’ve experienced much more helpful and friendly front desks. This is obviously pretty important when front desk are the first people you interact with when you walk in and also when you leave. That said we would definitely return for all the other great aspects.

Yes, this is a nice hotel once you’re inside; the rooms are comfortable enough, the staff pleasant and the breakfast food good. Though there was an irritating miscommunication from the hotel about the car collecting us from JFK which spoiled our arrival. However I wouldn’t stay here again because of the location. On the edge of Chinatown, the surrounding streets feel a little sketchy, with shabby shopfronts, abundant tattoo parlours and clouds of marijuana wherever you walk. It’s not conveniently located for most of the places or restaurants in midtown or around Central Park we wanted to visit as tourists having a long weekend (except for Brooklyn!) and for the relatively high price you spend too long on the subway getting there and back.

Management intentionally deceives guests and attempts to place them in downgraded rooms. I paid for a Superior View King Suite but was clearly placed in a “classic king” layout room. The difference is price between the rooms is material, as are the layouts. The SVKS comes with a living room and couch. The Classic King is just a standard king bedroom room. Management refused to acknowledge that they put me in the wrong room and instead insisted that all SVKS have different layouts…. But, we decided to measure the room for square footage to prove our point. Our original rooms (11Z) was exactly 320 sq ft. This lines up exactly w the size listed for a classic king. When we were eventually moved to a proper SVKS, the square footage measured 420 sq ft. Management lied to our face and forced us to vacate our rooms for 3 hours while they moved us. BEWARE - management will try to put you in a downgraded room unless you call them out on their actions. Shameful stuff for a 5 star hotel.

During the morning shift, the bar/café manager made me feel quite uncomfortable by persistently encouraging me to order more food and drinks, which came across as overly pushy. Additionally, the overall demeanor felt unwelcoming, with a noticeable attitude. One of the waitresses (young, blonde) was also visibly cleaning her nails with a wooden stick at the bar directly in front of me, which did not reflect well on the establishment’s hygiene standards. On a positive note, Lincoln, the security staff member at the entrance, stood out for his kindness and professionalism: he was the only team member who made me feel genuinely welcome.

Something’s different, and not in a good way. I’ve stayed at Nine Orchard three times over the last year. The aesthetics, the amenities, the adjacent Swan Room and Corner Bar are all worthy of HIGH praise. However, my most recent stay (12/14 - 12/16) was anything but praiseworthy. Upon arrival, the front desk manager was decidedly icy toward my wife and I. We were informed that because I didn’t book through AMEX Travel, I wouldn’t receive card member benefits (early check-in, late check-out, $100 dining credit and room upgrade when available). I’d booked directly with the hotel previously and received those benefits. The general manager stepped in and asked me to re-book my stay on the spot through AMEX Travel so that they could cancel the existing reservation. I obliged; I understood the desire to stick with hotel policy. Even after sorting that out though, there was lingering tension with the front desk manager, who seemed annoyed at our presence. Before wrapping things up at check-in, he begrudgingly upgraded us from studio queen to classic queen. I could see with seasonal demand, that may have been all they could do. I was upgraded to a terrace suite in late February and that was above and beyond what I was expecting. But again, there was an undercurrent with the front desk manager that stayed the duration of our stay. Every time we passed the front desk, he offered no greeting or acknowledgment. It made the marginal room upgrade seem personal because it was a marked difference from previous upgrades. I doubt we’ll stay at Nine Orchard again. Making guests feel unwelcome isn’t a hallmark of service, no matter how dreamy the interiors are.
