A different kind of menu made and served well. The Staff very friendly and atmosphere created by them. “Definitely a place to recommend and visit more often!”
Great all around restaurant, great service, food and atmosphere
Service was excellent. Loved the vibe of this place and it was a great place for us to wind down after a tiring day at The Met. Try the cocktails and fries! You can’t go wrong.
What can I say—this is hands down the best sports bar on the Upper East Side. It’s the perfect spot to catch a game, enjoy some seriously delicious food (the burgers and wings are next level), and soak up the lively, welcoming vibe. The staff is always friendly and makes you feel right at home. One of my favorite things to do is grab a drink and sit by the tables where the windows are open, it’s the ultimate neighborhood hangout. And the best part? It’s right below my apartment. I couldn’t love this place more!
Nice bar and place to watch sports. In addition to having a good beer list and TVs, they have some of the better food I’ve had at a bar. There is a broad selection of food and they have weekly specials as well. Sandwiches, apps, wings, all great.
Top notch neighborhood joint that welcomed us like old friends even though it was our first visit. Our bartender Marta was terrific; friendly, efficient and outgoing. They have a great craft beer selection and the menu was diverse and delicious 🤠
We were in the area and stumbled upon this cool place. Revolutionary war themed but also a Texas Longhorn backer-bar. Ailey, the bartender, was super awesome and made the best espresso martinis! She had a full bar and her ability to be attentive to all of the patrons at the same time crank out some serious drinks was impressive! Cool vibe and laid back atmosphere with cool music.
Best bar food on the Upper East Side (and possibly ever). We started to go to this place due to the close proximity to our apartment and returned countless times, sometimes far out of our way, because the food is so good. This has a larger than normal menu for a bar, with daily specials and a good amount of healthy options. Everything we have tried has been delicious, and I have left here happier than I have from meals triple the price. The staff is also great
sorry, I walked past this place for too long. I finally stopped in twice recently, and was so pleasantly surprised. The food was good. The service was good. The owner was very sweet. I’m glad the neighborhood has this place. I just wish they’d put more fish on the menu (not fried, )as I should not have meat but I had their burger and a salad with it. It was excellent no fat, dripping out of it done perfectly and very tasty. The crowd is mixed. I’m older most people were younger, but there was an element of some older people there, too a nice group of people. It’s a must go to. So glad it’s in my neighborhood, and I finally woke up and walked in. all the food that came out of the kitchen that everybody was eating, looked good, and they all loved their meals!! see you soon!
The best bar food in the UES. Hard to even call it bar food because of how great it is (and I’m a harsh critic). Also the best staff, who are extremely friendly and are a big reason why this is our favorite spot to come. Shout out to Conor! We’ve lived in the neighborhood for 9 years and will always recommend Horn’s Hook as our #1 spot ❤️
A great place with great times and great food and great beers and great atmosphere and great condiment portions and great staff
Have never been disappointed. Love the food —the kale quinoa salad, wings, oysters, burgers and more are delicious. The staff are friendly and it’s a neighborhood restaurant. Love it!
Excellent buffalo wings and I mean some of the best I've ever had. Bone in and boneless (house made) recommended. The sauce was delicious with great buttermilk fried crisp. Slider sampler was also excellent although sliders are small. I had the Burr, the Hook style and the Hale. The bartender, Emma, was a professional. Also, they play the game sound rather than music which is awesome and appreciated!!
At the beginning of first arriving, the wait staff was not very pleasant, found out later that it was near the end of her shift. But the rest of the time, the wait staff was very good! The food was creative, liked the fish and chips alot! There were many dipping sauces in the sampler! All of the NY team games were televised. Very clean and overall a great time! We were there for the drinks, mainly, as we had our Cheers for Fall passport which allows us to enjoy a bar place that we wouldn't have thought to go to!
Love this place! Popped in on a Friday night and again on Sunday afternoon. Nice surprise to see London Pride on tap. Ordered the wings which were a great recommendation by the staff working there. Great friendly service and atmosphere. Will be back for sure!
This place has great bar food. The highlights are the hamburgers, buffalo wings, and Potato skins. Trivia night here is also fun.
I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup and it was very tasty. One of my favorites I’ve had in Manhattan of this dish. Cozy and a lot of bar seating. I went for trivia and it was quite nice.
Came here for lunch with Eileen and the place is great. She is a regular and we are first timers. We were welcomed by Ashleigh (spelling?) and we were seated right away. We ordered a few drinks and tehy came out within a few minutes despite the tv’s having a college football blaring and the about 14 people occupying the u shaped bar. The food was magnificent, kids had salad and a burger. The chicken on the salad was perfectly cooked and the burger was delicious. The fries were great just wished there were more. I had the Hamilton it was so much food was so full. The kids split a hot brownie and ice cream dessert that was fantastic. Willl be baaack soon!
Horn’s Hook Tavern is always a good spot to grab a few beers and/or some good food- literally everything on the menu is excellent and the staff are always friendly. Whether you’re in the mood for a solid burger or something off their weekly special menu, you will not be disappointed. The fries are excellent as a snack. They may be on the pricey side, but it’s a small price to pay for comfort and a good time. You will never be hungry after eating at Horn’s Hook Tavern. Usually live music on Friday nights and they play the sound for NY sports games or college games when people are in to watch.
Really good vibe! They have a lot TVs for sports, a great beer selection and really good food. As you can tell from the picture, I didn’t even get a picture from before it smelled so good. The wings and fish and chips were good and they were playing great music. Good little bar to get a quick bar bite and some drinks in
Highly recommend their burgers. I got the Smoking Musket this time. The patty was very juicy. It goes very well with the texture of thick bacon. Love it! The pizza Margherita was also pretty good. I love the thin crust and the slightly sour tomato sauce.
My wife and I had an incredible time at Horn’s Hook Tavern last night, as the Chargers (yet again) embarrassed their fan base (of 1) in the WildCard Game. Ailey did an incredible job, and took incredible pride the food and beverage offerings at Horns Hook. WOW was she right- we started off with The Pulaski Sausage then grabbed some sliders (The Franklin was amazing, The Opener, and The Hale) then finished with a Brownie Sundae. Awesome cocktails, great vibe of locals to the UES, attentive staff, and wonderful food. We will be back soon.
We stopped for an after-work beer, It is the first time we entered Horn's Hook Tavern. We also ordered Burgers. We were pleasantly surprised, the Burgers were excellent, made exacty as we requested, the sauces and toppings did not spoil the enjoyment of the meat and the fries were oeefect. Great service, The place is definitely recommended.
Outstanding food! The hanger steak sandwich was amazing, albeit a little small. The waitress recommended the wings twice and i could tell my cousin wasnt feeling em but they were fantastic. Honestly they were good enough i feel they should be on a “best of” UES list somewhere. The first cocktail was strong and then not as much later. Most importantly we went for the jets game on a thursday. They had amazon prime (not many bars in the area carry it) and they played the commentary in the bar. I loved that. Not some random loud music, but the actual game. I think this bar might have become my personal go-to for sports. Its lowkey. Kinda quiet. More of a restaurant than a bar but still a bar, if that makes sense.
Takes “bar food” to new heights. Good selection of beers. I tried one that was called maple something. I wasn’t expecting to like it but it had just a hint of maple and was quite delicious. I had a little roasted pumpkin filled with butternut squash risotto that was delicious and vegetarian.
Tried this place out for the first time this week and it did not disappoint. I got the Soldier’s Sandwich which was a pulled pork sandwich with with cheese, coleslaw, pickles, and a large side of fries. My girlfriend got the Burr, a spicy chicken sandwich also with fries which she enjoyed. I also had their hard cider which was sweet and would definitely have again.

Great food. Great place to hang out, especially if you like sports.

Went there for an after wedding celebration. The staff was amazing. So was the food and drinks. Really cool little bar, we enjoyed our visit here with friends. This place was cozy and warm with smiles and good times!
I LOVEEE this place!! No wonder they're listed as one of the Top Sports bars in the city! They have the BEST bar food hands down, and the nicest staff! (Not to mention Tvs everywhere playing all kinds of sports matches) Trivia nights on Wednesdays are not to be missed either, it's such a fun time! Love bringing friends here and will be back soon!!
George is so cool and really made my birthday feel special. I live in the area and usually come when Rich is working, but we came in on a random day and George was absolutely fantastic to talk to! Love coming here and will definitely be back.
I was pleasantly surprised by this place! The food and beer was awesome and the burger my girlfriend ordered was quite possibly the best burger I have ever tasted in my life. I will be back.
Burgers are amazing, great spot to watch the game. I wish they had more local and craft beers on tap. Its mostly nationally available brands
Wonderful experience! Great food and pleasant, helpful service. In addition to the great atmosphere, they offer vegan options along with multiple beverage choices. I highly recommend a visit to this delightful tavern.
A pretty special place with extremely friendly staff. Food is incredible, and a very comfortable atmosphere. I’m HOOKED!

Food wasn’t worth the price. Good vibes and nice people but the fried chicken sandwich was a super thin cut and overcooked
Miller Lite cans for $6.50. many TVs, though some are more beat up than others.
Fantastic spot for a beer and really really friendly staff. I got The Hamilton, a beer battered chicken sandwich. To be honest, the sandwich was kind of underwhelming. That said, I fully plan on going back (maybe within the week)! The ambiance was just great and the friend pickles were tasty. Absolutely worth a visit.
I love the welcoming atmosphere bar, spacious, clean and warm vibes here filled with relaxed, regular locals. Enough TVs for sports watchinf. There are rows of tables alongside and that can easily be pushed together to accommodate a larger group, which we did on a weekday night. And as the post work crowd rolled, it got busy quickly and I was surprised wseeing just one person taking orders for the entire place. We were patient and got what we needed. The menu has a ton on it, it was hard to choose! Our favorites, the perogies, pasta and pretzel (the pizza was thin crust and just ok). No HH specials and that's ok, you come here for the comfy atmosphere and the comfort food, we'll try the wings next time! Enjoy!

Cool spot, nice neighborhood vibe. Patience, the bartender is attentive & pleasant. I only tried the fried pickles, they were ok. But smelling the nachos & chicken sandwich I'll have to try more food next time.

Everything overall fine-to-above-average but just my wife and I eating (2 ppl) and they automatically added a 15% tip in fine print, then had an extra line to "add a tip", which I thought was pretty slimy. So, be careful!
Lunch was fine, but relatively underwhelming at its price point. The burger I ordered medium rare was essentially medium well closer to well done, mostly brown with a little flash of pink right at the center of the patty. It was a perfectly decent burger, but at $19, I expected a bit more. The drinks were okay, but were nice and strong. The fried pickles were really good, owing largely to the fantastic batter, so that was a big plus. I imagine the fish and chips is quite good if it's battered and fried similarly.
I recently moved to the neighborhood and started visiting this bar. Food is good and service depends who’s working. Sunday June 9th whoever the female bartender worked in the early afternoon has zero hospitality in her. This is the second time I have zero to none interaction as she never acknowledges that a guest is sitting at the bar and she constantly is chewing food which I find it disturbing. I gave her an order she did not even reply as her mouth was full with food, she went back to her plate swallowing some more food and then returned to serve the drinks. Not a word came out of her mouth the whole entire time I was there, even when she dropped our food not even “enjoy it” or thank you when I paid my bill. Dear owner she either has to step up or you won’t get new customers on her shift for sure. Apologies for the error of the day but it was Sunday the 9th.
Our family went in at 1pm for the advertised lunch specials. The place was pretty empty with maybe 2 -3 other customers. They had no AC with only one small fan. When we ordered we were told that people under 21 are not allowed to consume the lunch special, because they could only served them at the bar and no one under 21 can sit at the bar. No where in the sign did it say that children (or anyone under 21 ) are not allowed to order a lunch special. Not only did they have faulty advertisement, but the waitress was incredibly rude about it - as if we are supposed to know this. We were recommended this place by regulars that live in the neighborhood. We’ll report back to them to never go again. The rudeness was unnecessary, the faulty advertisement should be addressed. Never again.
Went here thursday night. Me and my girl friend are very affectionate towards each other so we were kissing and holding hands while drinking. She had to use the restroom and asked for my help so I accompanied her and went in the woman’s restroom with her (we made sure no women were in there at the time). One of the employees immediately knocked and opened the door making sure we weren’t having intercourse and kicked me out. Afterwards he told me I should’ve asked permission. I’m sorry but I owe no one permission to help her out when need be, and he had no right to barge in. Won’t be coming back because had she been naked and exposed, that’s a HUGE violation of privacy.
I enjoyed my first time... But the second time was really, strange. The staff were amazing though..... My meat didn't look real... It was Gray. Like more than fifty shades.
I called this bar tonight (on a Thursday) to confirm they had darts available. I was told yes. When we arrived at 7pm, the waiter gave us a hard time and said it would be too busy for darts. After I explained I’d called ahead, he let us play. Then the waitress came over and rudely told us they don’t usually allow darts on Fridays because it’s too busy. I reminded her it was Thursday today and that I’d called ahead to confirm. She acted very annoyed, walked away, and later returned claiming the person I spoke to said I’d called “during the day, hours ago”. I pulled up my call log to prove I called in the evening only an hour before arriving. Despite that, she continued to be unfriendly. To make things worse, when we cashed out, a person in our group was overcharged by over $400. It was corrected after we pointed it out but the situation felt careless at best. Overall a very uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
