Incredible!!! This is the word that comes to mind when thinking of our experience at Oysteria 57/Travelers Poets & Friends!! It brought us back to our time in Tuscany….the most delicious food with amazing ambiance!!! On top of that, the service David provided was unforgettable….he took such meticulous care of us and made us feel like long lost friends!! We can’t recommend it enough & we will definitely be back!!
We had a fantastic dinner at Osteria 57, and Behrouz made the experience even better with genuinely warm and attentive service. We started with the scallops and the ricotta truffle toast, both of which were excellent. The scallops were beautifully prepared and the truffle toast was rich and flavorful without being overwhelming. For the main course we had the pescatarian del giorno. The branzino was perfectly cooked with a lovely char from the grill. We paired it with grilled mushrooms and roasted fingerling potatoes with a confit garlic purée, which were both outstanding and complemented the fish perfectly. What really stood out was the hospitality. We arrived around 9:30pm, knowing the kitchen was closing around 10, so we were already grateful they were willing to seat us. The team kept apologizing for the timing and pace of service, but honestly there was nothing to apologize for. They were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel completely taken care of. The atmosphere is warm and homey, and the bar is one of the most beautiful in the city. A wonderful meal from start to finish. Huge thanks to Behrouz and the team for making it such a lovely evening. We’ll absolutely be back.
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday. I spoke with the manager beforehand for seating arrangement and to prepare the cake that I bought. They were fully supportive and gave us the best spot in the restaurant and performed flawless execution of bringing out the cake. Loved the hospitality that they provided. Also, the food was amazing. Not saying this because they treated us well. Definitely get the ricotta toast if they still have it!
I’m 54 and a Native to the West Village. This restaurant is a hidden gem. The music was lovely, but you could actually hear the other people at your table. The food was fresh and prepared to perfection. The staff were friendly and professional. This is my new favorite restaurant. It’s perfect for a date, a business meeting or a celebration. I would give 100 stars if I could.
Came here a couple of weeks ago. We made a reservation for 3. Though we waited for our table it was completely worth it. Great atmosphere with nice music yet you can still have a conversation without struggle. Tables nicely spaced out. The food was delicious and our waiter Giuseppe knew the menu well and made great recommendations. I did not have a cocktail but I had the best ginger ale ever, must have been made there or a special brand. 10/10 definitely recommend this place. 👍
Ohhhhh myyyy Gooooooodddd The gnocchi funghi e tartufo 🫠 What can I say? There are no words. Only dreams and flash backs and hopes of returning to experience this delightful meal one more time. The restaurant vibe is awesome, service was great. Even though it was super super busy, the waiters were still available and friendly. The cocktails are really good.
I visited this restaurant during NYC restaurant week for dinner and had a fantastic experience! First of all, all the staffs were incredibly friendly and warm. I started with an Aperol Spritz, which was amazing, and enjoyed the dishes from the NYC Restaurant Week course menu. The bread was excellent, and the cannoli was soooooooo great. You must choose this dessert over the sorbet flavors! The interior was beautiful and charming. Highly recommended!
Just had lunch, Tuesday, August 12 at 12:30 PM. I can’t remember my waiters name, but he was absolutely wonderful. So was the person bussing my table whom the waiter seem to be Training and they had a very nice rapport. I ate from the restaurant week lunch menu, which I feel is a very, very good deal for the food that I ate. I also had half a dozen oysters, which were delicious. Excellent choice of wine. I jumped over to their espresso bar right next-door and enjoyed a delicious pastry as well as a double espresso. The bartender was also very kind and attentive. Definitely will be returning. I appreciate their fresh gluten-free pasta and vegetable selection.
Absolutely delicious. My husband and I chase good oysters and these were amazing. Scallops on point with a delicious beet sauce, got the focaccia with truffle and honey, and loved the branzino for two. I just regret not getting a tiramisu for myself because I couldn’t get enough! Service was very nice and the mixologist made my drink exactly how I wanted it.
Amazing place! Found it last minute and instantly found the service was very attentive (welcoming and even checked the kitchen for allergies for me). The atmosphere upon entering and seating was cozy and charming. Appetizer of octopus was perfect texture and I didn't expect beans to match its flavour profile but was amazing. The cocktails were also tasty and spicy, the nonalcoholic freebird tasted exactly like tequila without the bad aftertaste! We got the swordfish bolognese and clam linguini which were incredibly flavourful. The clam dish felt like eating a part of the ocean (so strong but in the best way possible), and the swordfish I didn't taste much of the fish unfortunately but the squid ink had a good deep taste and perfect texture. Tiramisu was pretty good, wasn't too heavy in my stomach after a big meal but nothing jaw dropping. However the highlight was the chocolate gelato (with no milk!) which had the smooth texture of cold melted chocolate without any gumminess. The flavour was rich, dark chocolate and one of the high points! Only real complaint would be the bathroom stall, felt it was a little shabby but mostly clean. Also took a little while for the mains to come out but didn't mind as the bread and atmosphere kept us occupied. Great food, staff, and vibes
Ate here a few times a year ago and then went back recently. This cozy, intimate restaurant only serves vegetarian and fish dishes. The branzino and halibut special are outstanding. The fluke crudo and tiramisu dessert also. The menu is seasonal. The service and atmosphere are all excellent.
My friends took me for a graduation dinner and it was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in NYC. The highest quality food I’ve seen and tasted thus far. Beautiful drinks and the best truffle ricotta bread. Everything was blowing my mind with the flavor and freshness. And I’ve tasted a lot. I would only advise with going for a lot of food because it was all so rich.
I happened to stumble upon this place one night in the city and I’m so happy I did. My friend has a gluten intolerance and this is the perfect spot for her. The service was amazing. Everyone was very attentive and sweet. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, I was very impressed. They were busy and still on top of everything. The salmon and truffle entrees were delicious. We did the truffle on gluten free pasta. Also, the cocktails were tasty and not too sweet. I will definitely be back!
A quaint and cozy Italian restaurant! The ambiance is nice. It's good for a date or to be with friends. It's more on the quiet side. They have warm houses if you want to dine outside. The service is great. The team is observant. The drinks and food come to the table fairly quickly. Everything was tasty. We tried the lobster dish and the black sea bass. The cauliflower app and the app with the calamari are also really good! I recommend this place!!
I’ve enjoyed every about this place. The food is well presented and tasty. You can see from the photos that the chefs put a lot thought and care behind each dish. The waiter and the host were secessional, very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is very relaxing, either inside the restaurant or outside. We had a table in the outside cabin, which was air con and you feel very much apart of the inside vibe. I see a lot of the reviewers mentioned about the price and the portions. I think maybe the cocktails could be cheaper, but the food is totally in price range for the quality and the experience that you get. I would definitely recommend and I will definitely return.
Had a fantastic anniversary dinner here. The waiters were attentive, thoughtful, and patient. I had the best pasta I have ever had in my life here… and I eat a lot of pasta. If you have the opportunity to order the buttered pasta with shaved truffles, do NOT miss it. I cannot express that enough. My partner got a spicy tomato based pasta that was lovely. Started with a great rice ball and ended with amazing sorbets and an almond like cake
Have been meaning to go here for a while and we were so glad we finally did! The drinks were awesome and the food was delicious. We spent a good amount of money on two appetizers, two pastas, a dessert, and two drinks each, but it was worth it for a date night out. I got the Cacio e Pepe which was creamy and perfect. Our waitress was also super friendly and made the night fun. Plenty of vegetarian options, will definitely consider coming back again!
The food was good but it wasn’t impressive especially considering the price. The atmosphere was nice and quiet, pretty intimate for dates. The only dishes that made more of an impression were the appetizers— the truffle ricotta toast and cod croquettes were very light and fresh. The entrée tasted pretty average and the portions were slightly smaller than expected.
This Italian restaurant offers a charming and secluded ambiance, perfect for a cozy meal. We booked a reservation for a group of 10-15 people after work on a Monday, and they accommodated us well, even rearranging furniture to seat us all in one room. The service was attentive, and the cocktails were truly exceptional—some of the best I’ve had in a while. They were so smooth that you only realize how strong they are when you stand up! However, the food left something to be desired. Despite the pasta being homemade, it tasted quite plain and didn’t stand out. The one dish that did impress me was the truffle ricotta, which was a delicious appetizer worth trying. In terms of pricing, it’s in line with the area—cocktails around $20 and main dishes about $30. Overall, it’s a great spot for drinks and a cozy atmosphere, but the food may not leave a lasting impression.
This place is loud when crowded. We came for restaurant week so it was very busy and loud. Service took a while, but we were treated nicely. The market salad was a pleasant surprise, but the crispy cauliflower was very bland and didn’t have enough sauce to make up for it. As for the pastas, we loved the paccheri pomodoro burrata but the linguine vongole was only okay. They had decent gluten free pasta and decent wines. Overall we had a good meal but probably won’t be back soon.
This place has a nice atmosphere. I went at night and it was nice and cozy. However, the food was not worth the price. I’ve been to Michelin star restaurants and have gotten better tasting food and more food for better prices. We ordered the dish with noodles and crab and you could barely see any crab just small shreds and it cost $36 The noodles were good but the flavor was just ok. Also, the waiter barely checked in on us. It took us 30 minutes just to get our check. Honestly, this was shocking to me being that I’ve been to this restaurant before at its old location almost exactly a year ago and had a much better experience. I will never go back again. At this point this place is over hyped.
