Avis sur Satsko New York
Great laid back atmosphere with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Good selection of Saké, plum wine, and Japanese beers. The bar tender was even cool enough to walk us through the right way to do sake bombs. It was great and we had a blast!
Small sake bar, staff was polite, kind and knowledgeable.
Went on a Thursday, met the owner. Very vibey, recommend
Great sake choices, every glass we got we enjoyed. Didn't really come there for the food but it was excellent
Not only is the food great, but the presentation and atmosphere make this place an excellent spot for both groups and couples. The menu is expansive and the cocktails are delicious. Recommend wagyu, yakitori platter, sashimi platter
Love this little gem. We came right after they opened on a Monday and had the place to ourselves! Susan was great explaining food choices and chatting about sake choices. I love that you can eat small plates that come out quickly and perfect for sake nerds! I would come back all the time for these 2 dishes pictured. Amazing flavor and love the homemade pickles. The squid reminded me of squid jerky i wish i had some right now.
I’ve been holding out on this review for over a year because I’m greedy and want to keep this hidden gem a secret to myself, but this place deserves a review! First off, it’s a 25 seat joint. You walk in and it feels like the back streets of Tokyo: tiny, dark, chill. Perfect spot to bring a date or an old friend! There’s a copious amount of sake to choose from and they’re all delicious! If you’re not too well versed with sake, not to worry, all the bartenders here know their stuff. Food is great too, the type of comfort food your Japanese aunt would make if you rolled into her flat late at night after consuming too much sake. But to be fair, it’s real yummy when sober too! Highly reccomend the chicken karaage, Berkshire sausage, gyoza, and spicy tuna onigiri. They go great with a few glasses of sake, or better yet, a sake bomb. This place is so small and intimate that if you stay long enough, you’ll brush shoulders with some of NYC’s coolest and most eccentric individuals. Highly reccomend visiting this place, and don’t forget to order the karaage!
Really solid food and a really nice selection of sake. Food does take a bit to arrive, I would not recommend if you are in a rush. The curry rice is filling and flavorful. I'd recommend getting another snack while you wait, the squid and karaage are delicious and are great with sake.
A friend brought me here for birthday dinner and the staff were kind, helpful, friendly and loads of fun throughout our evening. It's a tiny Japanese restaurant with an incredible selection of Sake and a huge number of tasty dishes. If you can squeeze yourself into a table, it's definitely worth a try. Just keep your wits about you - or you might end up doing sake shots with the rest of the restaurant!
Awesome staff, food is super good and tasty, the buns are soft and delicious, meat or veggie! Cocktails are great and priced nicely. Great ambiance and hospitality. A little tight on busy nights but one you're in there it's great! Definitely coming back next time I'm in the city again! Go Austin and David!
It is a really small place but it’s a sake bar .. it’s a small cute bar with red ambience, I believe it’s red coz sake is originated from Japan and Japan has its red circle in the flag which symbolizes Japan.. had a sake bomb which is fun to have and loved it.. the bartender was really helpful in selecting the drinks and make our lives easy for a sake bomb.
It’s cozy and cute but I wouldn’t say it’s the best food I’ve ever had. The pork buns were smothered in BBQ like sauce and not in a good way. The mushrooms are good but unbelievably few mushrooms. I do believe it’s a good date spot because of how small it is, but food is nothing to write home about.
March 2026_One of the strangest dining experiences I have ever had. We were the only dining table around 7 pm, yet service was oddly slow. Our dishes came out with long gaps, and the chicken curry arrived incorrectly twice—first made with beef, then with rice mixed in despite our request for it on the side, and with only two small pieces of chicken in the entire bowl. Unfortunately, the experience got worse: later that evening both of us became sick. I wrote the owners privately at their email address and on Instagram to try to make them aware of the problems at their business, but they never responded resulting in my post here. Many better options available.
food and drinks are great. they forgot my birthday reservation one time and the bartender was wasted but seated us in reasonable time and it all worked out. great vibes. *UPDATE* i went to eat there a few weeks ago with one of my friends. mind you, i used to live a few blocks away so i’ve been here multiple times. it has always been consistently good and convenient. it has completely gone down in quality and was probably one of the worst meals i ate out in 2024. will not be going back unfortunately. RIP to one of my favorite sake bars in NYC.
