This place is AMAZING! The cheese bread chicken club Omg. I have celiac disease and this place is 100% gluten free!
I had no idea that tapioca could be so good! They sell many specialty Brazilian items with tapioca flatbread and more. I had the Lean Steak Club in the tapioca flatbread and a traditional Brazilian cheese bread. It was really delicious and it was the perfect brunch to start my day. The employees are also really nice and I love the art inside. I highly recommend this place!
I visited in September 2025 and returned again in January 2026, this time with a friend. We were both obsessed with the food—amazing, well-balanced meals. The staff is friendly and the service system works great. I’d come back every time I’m in New York.
As soon as you walk in, the vibrant Brazilian vibe encompasses you, from the "green wall" to the tropical murals with parrots, from the sunset orange La Marzocco espresso machine, to the wooden bench seating, and white marble tables. Tropical "plants" strategically placed throughout the store add to the sunny and invitingly warm welcome from the staff - Brazil is here! Speaking of staff, they were all smiles and friendly, particularly the guy at the register. He was helpful about answering questions I had about the menu, and helped me decide on what to order. I decided on the Beet & Beauty Glow protein smoothie, a surprisingly light and not very sweet smoothie of beets, strawberries, bananas, almond milk, dates and collagen protein. The dates add just the right amount of sweetness balanced by the sweet-and-earthy tones of the beets, the collagen and banana also combine for a nice & smooth mouth feel. I also treated myself to a single traditional pão de queijo (I've also enjoyed the pesto and spicy ones that they offer, both delicious, but I'm a purist) - fluffy, chewy, just the right amount of unami cheese that adds JUST the right amount of melty-ness. These are delicious and feel downright decadent.
OMG I am so glad I stumbled on this place while exploring the Upper West Side. Colorful and fun, healthy and delicious. They have so many options and all gluten free! Their coffee was wonderful and the staff was kind and awesome. I loved all the beautiful murals and overall esthetic of TAP. Def a NY gem and highly recommend! I had the lean steak club Panini at their recommendation and it was incredible with fresh pesto and arugula. Very authentic and unique, will certainly be back! They also have a really adorable patio in a prime location. Must go!!
The food is consistently amazing. And I love that everything is gluten-free. I get the açaí bowl on the regular. It’s the best I’ve ever had. And the PDQs are orgasms in your mouth. Be sure to try a PDQ panini! The space is cute, but it’s always packed - a testament to the taste and quality of the food.
TAP is being my favorite cafe in NYC! It’s a cozy place, staff is always willing to help and treating us so well! Also, the food is AMAZING! Everything is gluten free, what means a celiac safe environment. PDQ is my obsession right now, makes me feel a little bit of Brazil 🤩 🇧🇷
The store is beautiful and very welcoming. I was well taken care of — everyone was very attentive and polite. The menu has plenty of variety, the entire store is gluten-free, and they really accommodate people with dietary restrictions. Their açaí and cheese bread are the best. I felt like I got to experience a little piece of Brazil in NYC. The manager was always around and very attentive as well. The place is definitely worth the visit. And the best part: they’re pet-friendly.
Amazing Brazilian Café — Must Visit! I run the Christmas tree stand in front of the CVS, and I stopped by TAP the Brazilian café recently, I was blown away. The whole place has such a beautiful vibe, and the staff make you feel right at home. Camilla and Amanda are absolute stars, warm, welcoming, and full of good energy. Their service genuinely made my day. The pão de queijo was incredible, and the tapioca bacon, egg & cheese is to die for. Everything is gluten-free and super fresh. If you’re looking for authentic Brazilian flavors, great coffee, and a cozy atmosphere, this spot is a must-go. I’ll definitely be back. 🙌🌿
We come to Tap so often because the quality never disappoints. Their açaí bowls are always so fresh, healthy, and full of flavor—you can really taste the difference! It’s our favorite spot when we want something nutritious and satisfying. And the cheese balls… absolutely delicious! Warm, perfectly cooked, and so addictive – they’re a must-try every time we visit. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is friendly, and the food is consistently amazing. Highly recommend! 💯
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TAP is an absolute gem on the Upper West Side. Every time I come here I feel like I’m back in Brazil. The tapiocas are perfection, the açaí bowls are divine, and the smoothies are so rich, fresh, and delicious. Every sip tastes like home. The staff is warm, friendly, and genuinely Brazilian in the best way. You can feel the love in everything they do. The whole place just radiates good energy and authenticity. It’s perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect. My favorite spot when I want a real taste of Brazil in New York.
Easy to find off of busy 3rd Ave. Comfortable space. Ordered: lean steak and chicken tapioca sandwiches, açaí bowl, OJ with ginger, drip coffee. Came at HH which means buy 2 pão de queijo and 3rd one free. So I tried one of each: regular, jalapeño, and pesto. Also going to try the Cupuaçu bar. Food is excellent. Tapioca "breading" was soft, some edges crunchy like a toasted bread. Flavor's amazing, on point. Pão was excellent texture. I liked the pesto most. The açaí was the best. Smooth, true açai taste (assuming with guaraná). The granola was another highlight. Will definitely try again when I get the chance.
A cafe with a warm, homemade feeling that everything is made with care. The Brazilian cheese bread is Incredible - freshly made, with a perfectly crispy outer layer and a soft, pillowy interior of light & fluffy dough, mixed with the satisfying chewiness of the cheese. The acai bowl was also very good - solid portion size, the acai was not too diluted, and with a good proportion of the layered protein powder & peanut butter. Service is friendly and unpretentious, very casual and welcoming. Lots of seating inside as well. Very highly recommend! :)
This exceeded our expectations, which were already high based on the reviews. I had the spicy tuna and my daughter had the breakfast sandwich, accompanied by oat lattes and gf chocolate cookies. Absolutely delicious!! And it was such a treat to be able to order anything safely, since everything is gluten free!
It smelled really good inside Tap. I ordered the Lean Steak Club Egg Wrap and cheese breads. The food was prepared fast and tasted really delicious. The presentation was great. The staff were friendly and informed me about happy hour specials. I was not hungry when I visited with my kids. I felt satisfied afterward, and my belly felt really comfortable. The monster Açaí bowl was delicious. It’s more economical to order a large bowl and share instead of two small ones in my opinion. The chicken club was tasty. I probably would try the chicken egg wrap next time. Renzo Gracie Members receive discount for orders. I added the savings to my tips for the kind staff. It’s nice to have Tap in our neighborhood.
I had a very positive 4-star visit to TAP Brazilian Café. Both the food and the service were high points, earning 4 stars each. The atmosphere was also good, providing a dependable 3-star backdrop for a high-quality and reliable meal.
Really good gluten free tapioca sandwich, I got the spicy tuna with a mango coconut smoothie. The smoothie was fine. Grateful to have gluten free options but this is so expensive - I spent over $30 for a sandwich and a smoothie which is kinda outrageous even for NYC. But the food is good and it’s a cute place.
