My mom, sister, and I had such a wonderful time in this Ikebana class! It’s not only fun and meditative to make the arrangements, but you also get a chance to learn a bit of the history and philosophy behind the art form which is so intriguing and thought-provoking. I highly recommend it and would love to go back for another class!
While visiting New York, my fiancé and I decided to take Junko’s ikebana class to learn a new style for arranging flowers. Even though our class was only an hour long, the information and guidance we received from Junko will stay with us for a lifetime. The simplicity and intentional placement of each bloom is a technique that I seldomly apply when creating arrangements, so having her reassurance that sometimes less is more was just what I needed to see the beauty in ikebana flower arrangements. My fiancé was a trooper for attending the class with me, and I can only hope that he learned enough to make arrangements for special occasions instead of paying for them. All in all, the class was a great addition to our time spent in New York!
Had so much fun and learned a lot about the design philosophy and history of ikebana!! Definitely want to come back again :)
I treated myself to this Ikebana; Moribana style class as a little birthday gift to myself, and I honestly had the most magical time. Junko was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and full of warmth. Our time together was full of laughter, engaging conversation, and a sense of calm that made the experience even more special. I learned so much and left feeling both inspired and deeply grateful for this beautiful art form. I was truly in awe of the thoughtfulness behind each branch placement and the meaning woven into every shape. I can’t wait to return for another class and continue exploring this captivating practice.
From the moment we walked in and smelled the fresh greens and visually drank in the lovely flowers we’d be working with in the working ikebana studio, my shoulders went down and my friend and I started smiling. We had the best time with Junko! She gave us great basics and then let us all loose to feel our inner artists, with a little nudge here and encouragement there to help us along.
My girlfriend and I took the beginner friendly ikebana class without knowing anything about flower arrangements. We left with a love for the art and knowledge about its japanese history. Junko is such a great person and teacher which made us feel like family. Would definitely recommend!
I had the best experience at Ikebana Flower! Junko is a great teacher and the sweetest person. You learn the history of various styles of Ikebana, spend time learning how to make your own arrangement (with Junko’s guidance), and bring something beautiful back to your home! I took Intro to Japanese Floral Design and then came back for Comprehensive Floral Foundations: Eastern and Western Flower Arrangement too.
Took the beginner class as a gift from my bff and had a great time. Ikebana master Junko was lovely as an instructor and I learned some history about floral arranging. We were able to take pics of our creations in class and then take them home. Would recommend to anyone interested and she also teaches at NYBG!
I had such an amazing time. I love what I was able to create. Now I only want Ikebana style flowers in the house.
Our group had a fab time with junko sensei and I have to thank her for leading such a lovely and informative class. She really sparked joy and shared her love for ikebana and Japanese culture with us. Would recommend having a private class with just your own group
I took ikebana class with my partner for an anniversary event and it was very nice. Also professor was inspiring and she was knowledgeable, making the art form approachable and meaningful. Her clear guidance and thoughtful feedback fostered creativity while deepening my appreciation for ikebana’s beauty and philosophy. An unforgettable experience! In addition, the professor was very sweet kind and funny and easy to approach. 🥰
Fantastic class. Teacher was very knowledgeable about history if Ikebana and was able to provide us with the context necessary for us to start designing our own arrangement. Highly recommend.
Had an amazing time learning about the history of ikebana with Junko-san! Our moribana class was very relaxing and she gave insightful pointers on our arrangements. Definitely recommend giving her a try and we’ll happily take another class in the future :)
Took the 2.5hr intro course and it was great! Junko was very knowledgeable and so nice! She brought a great warmth to the class and was very helpful with hands-on instruction. Would definitely recommend!
My hubby and I have been taking Junko’s classes for over a year, and we have had a great experience. She always keeps her classroom clean, and charges a reasonable price despite the inflation. She personally designed the ikebana master class catering directly to my hubby and my interests. We started with the ikebana beginner classes, and moved to learn the Western styles, and then are now going back to the ikebana advance classes with fusion styles. Each class is about 2-hour long and she will give a general direction and demonstrate techniques and leave most of the time to let us run wild with our imaginations with our own arrangements and practice techniques. In the meanwhile, she will watch and give us feedbacks. What I love the most about her is that she really cares about her students and taking a class with her always feels like a rendezvous with a dear friend. Learning with lots of encouragement truly pushes us to our better potentials.
Had a great time here for the Ikebana course. Junko is so kind and gave us detailed introduction of the history of Ikebana and the techniques. Got the cherry blossom today perfect for spring!
Such a fun experience with two very nice ladies! :)
She was recommended to me by a friend. I ordered some arrangement flowers for a dinner event and she did great. She added her expertise and made my vision cooler!!
Had a great time here. We were all beginners but learned so much and had a blast trying out different flower arrangements.
Such beautiful flowers!
Great experience at Wagamama in Manhattan 🍜 It’s definitely on the pricey side for ramen, but the quality is there and it was very good overall. I found the pork a bit too fatty for my taste, but I really appreciated the addition of soft, melt-in-your-mouth onions. The server was very kind and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I’d still recommend it and would come back.
I had a great time at Wagamama Murray The place has nice and comfortable atmosphere, Specially the newly renovated bar area its comfy. The bartenders meet my expectation, he make’s perfect old fashion, I really enjoyed the drinks they made,It was so good, The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was fast. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would definitely come back again.
Today was absolutely incredible! I came with a few colleagues, and right from the moment we arrived, Harley, our host, greeted us with such warmth and hospitality—it felt like stepping into a welcoming embrace. But the excitement didn’t stop there! Henry, the supervisor, surprised us with a delightful birthday cake while a talented choir serenaded us with a joyful rendition of "Happy Birthday." It was such a memorable experience! The way they treat their guests is truly outstanding. I have to give the service and food a perfect 10 out of 10! What an unforgettable day!
Had an amazing experience at Wagamama Murray Hill! The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. Our server Massimo was fantastic—super friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. Manager Dane also stopped by to check in and was incredibly nice and welcoming. Excellent service all around—can’t wait to come back!
The service at this place was absolutely fantastic. Steven nailed the drinks, and the manager Kevin was incredibly attentive. Our waiter was superb, making the entire experience enjoyable. I loved every moment here and will definitely be returning. Must-try items include the backyard burger, salmon nachos, and the U Be espresso martini.
Service was excellent! Our server was very pleasant, even though its was almost closing time, doing his best to make sure we get what we are looking for. I apologize for forgetting his name but he is was very thoughtful and helpful with us, with our little one, making sure we were all happy.I was a little sick and needed a spicy, hot chicken ramen and he delivered. It was the best I ever had! I appreciate the little details, glasses cups (not plastic), water bottle, wooden spoons, etc. After this experience, this restaurant goes on our "must have in NY" list. Thank you for dinner #wagamama.
Prob best overall meal I’ve had in NYC so far!! Restaurant week is a blessing — got a $30 three-course dinner! Stephen was an amazing waiter throughout the night, very attentive and kind. The apple Porkbelly bao was a great start. The sweetness of the fried apple slice countered the saltiness of the pork belly really well. The textures were all there, the flavors were dancing — phenomenal. The main was a schezuan pork ramen. A bit on the saltier side, but the noodles were nice and springy, and the pork bits were yum. It paled in comparison to the rest of the meal, but still a very solid dish. The matcha cheesecake was a bit slow to come but totally worth the wait. Such a light yet decadent dessert to finish the meal. Not too sweet, and the ice cream is made in-house. The ice cream had ginger notes (I think) and really tied everything together since the cheesecake was a tad dry. Wowowow did it blow me away. Porkbelly and apple bao: 9.4 Ramen: 7.8 Matcha cheesecake: 9.7
Despite coming off hours (between lunch & dinner), Irving and Jason gave me VIP service with a smile. What a lovely, warm place where you are treated like family. The pork bun with apple was absolutely amazing. I still can’t believe that was an apple so delicious. I also had the crispy tuna appetizer so good! I will be back!
The young man who helped me said he’d only been working there for about three months, but he did a great job. Super friendly, spoke really well, gave solid recommendations, and seemed kind and attentive to everyone around him. Definitely a great fit for the team. Great food! Would eat there every night if I could
Everything about our visit was a 10/10 from the incredible service to the amazing atmosphere. What really made the experience stand out was our bartender, who was not only knowledgeable but also had a fantastic sense of humor and a super positive attitude. They recommended a Manhattan to pair with my meal, and it ended up being the perfect match. Their energy, friendliness, and great drink suggestions made the night even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be coming back! :)
I have dined at Wagamama’s several times over the years, but this was my first time at this location. As I walked in, I loved their dining area appearance, was so stunning, with modern furnish, large windows, full of sunlight. Their menu was same as other locations. We ordered bunch of items like duck and karaage chicken baos, calamari, edamame, bang bang cauliflower and the duck ramen. Food came out at decent pace. Most of the items were good, the baos and edamame specially. Duck ramen never misses, their best dish. But the cauliflower didn’t taste good. The chicken in daughter’s kids meal was also dry. The service was excellent. They gave coloring paper and crayons to the kids. We got few drinks that were well made. Overall we had a wonderful lunch at this location.
