Don’t leave Newburgh without eating here! The food is exceptional. Not cheap but worth every penny. The presentation of it all was lovely and professional and the food is authentically Mexican, and that is hard to find in the Hudson Valley. Just know that you might have trouble getting regular water as staff might not think that it is "ok" to drink tap water (and menu type might be hard to read). Food was superb and I am so happy that they are a new addition to the City of Newburgh. We will be back!

Angel our waiter was wonderful! Service was great and food was too! Great music as well. Even the cooks were really nice. Our group of 4 were all very happy with our tacos and sopés. Also the yummy chips and guac 😋Would come again for sure!

Large fresh made agua fresca (a mint, lime, ginger base with fruit addition options). The pork belly quesadilla and chicken tostada were very flavorful. Be warned it’s a lot of food and easy for your eyes to order more food than your stomach can manage. Not a problem if you enjoy leftovers.

We’ve been ordering takeout from this place, but decided to eat in. The server was so attentive and friendly, and the food was solid as usual - fresh ingredients and very tasty. We love this place!

Found this (new) place via word of mouth recommendation - and after a super good meal tonight I know why! Creative menu options, generous portions, a mango juice that was sooooo good and those to-die-for churros! Plus a cute interior and friendly staff. I'd do 6 stars if I could! ;)

What a delicious and unexpected find! Guacamole was freshly made and full of vibrant flavor. I had the beef quesabirria, which was rich and so delicious. It’s one of my favorites and El Gran Toro did not disappoint. My friends had the empanadas, quesadilla blanco, and some tacos. They loved them. Our server made us feel like part of the family. We will come back the next time we are in town!

I have been living in Newburgh for about four years now and I started losing interest in some of the local Mexican restaurants in the area because they lost flavor and authenticity. Thanks to Google Maps I found this restaurant gem, and today is my third time here at El Gran Toro Mexican Brasserie. I cannot believe how delicious is this food and how flavorful everything tastes, their tacos are so fresh and invigorating. Please come visit and try real authentic Mexican food. Starting tomorrow from 12-5PM they will have lunch specials and their Pozole is on point. Thank you Daniel, Miguel and Angel for your awesome hospitality and delicious meals. You guys definitely take me to Mexico after the first bite a huevo que si!

This is absolutely top five Mexican food I’ve ever had. I had never heard of this place and randomly ended up here with zero expectations … I will be here weekly. The quesabirria tacos were perfection. The guac was the best restaurant guac I’ve ever had. The vibe was chill and service was super fast and friendly. Five stars. No notes.

Had a wonderful experience with Angel! He was warm and courteous and recommended us the best dishes! The food was amazing as well! Really fresh chips and salsa, the mushroom ravioli was delicious! Highly recommended this place and definitely ask for Angel!

Came for Pozole, it was EXCELLENT. This place never misses. Food is always fresh and flavorful. As usual, Angel is the most attentive server.

These guys are on some Mexican Michelin like passion right in our back yard… they deserve relentless support for the quality and flavor they provide. And the value of their lunch special burrito or torta is a blessing I hope doesn’t go away. (Comes with some fries or chips) And the atmosphere inside does the rest. Great food, excellent experience. I love all of the menu. Great flavor. Ask questions when you go the menu has unique options in a special type of way. (the torta option you can get in store is drowned in a tomato sauce) tastes amazing… but it’s different.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. I have never had a bad meal here; delivery AND dine in. Tonight I dined in and had the oysters which were SO fresh and delicious (next time I will get more than 4) and nachos with carne asada. The nachos are soooo good and their cheese sauce is the best I’ve had on nachos. They also pickle their own jalapeños and carrots in house. So delicious! I’ll be back for more of those oysters asap. Angel my waiter was attentive and so kind as usual, love seeing him when I dine in.

We ordered: Guacamole and Chips (Freshly made on molcajete stone with cilantro, onion, Serrano peppers and lime juice topped with pico de gallo ,served with tortilla chips). These had a distinctive flavor. The chips were homemade. Huevos Divorciados and Entomatada. Everything was delicious. The waiter was very friendly. It’s a menu unlike other restaurants in the area.

I recently co-hosted a Super Bowl watch party at Gran Toro and had an amazing experience. The food was great! We tried several of their tacos and wings. And the drinks were great too! The thing that really stood out was the service and the atmosphere. Everyone was so kind even when they were clearly working so hard to keep up with the large number of orders. Staff was accommodating and even let us bring in a cake to celebrate the Bad Bunny halftime show. :)

What an amazing experience we had! We organized a local event to watch the Superbowl and it went beyond our expectations. The food was incredible, the environment and the service was top notch. Can't recommend this place enough!

The imaginative menu has several Italian/Mexican hybrid dishes that are incredibly delicious. I would recommend the gnocchi. I also got the chicken quesadilla which comes in a pizza box. It was massive and delicious. My mouth is watering thinking about the food here. Absolutely give this place a chance, you will not be disappointed

EL Gran Toro Mexican Brasserie is an AWESOME restaurant but NEVER EVER ORDER THRU DOORDASH. THEY SHORTED ME TWICE IN A ROW ON ORDERS AND THEN CLAIMED I WAS LYING ABOUT IT! What kind of company would risk losing my business and having me bad mouth them like this? Doordash would. Do not say I didn't warn you. DOORDASH SUCKS!

I was disappointed when we walked in and were given menus that don’t reflect what is shown on Google. I asked the person helping us and he said that the chef had changed the menu for the new year. This new menu does not look very appetizing compared to the one on Google. I ended up ordering the shrimp quesadillas and 2 steak tacos and 1 al pastor taco. The menu states that the order of tacos includes 2 tacos on “large” tortillas. The tortillas are regular sized. The food was okay, not great. If anything was better than what we ordered, it was their nacho chips. Truly disappointed that the food didn’t live up to the reviews that I had seen prior to going.
