I was thrilled to try the newly added Omakase menu last night, it was an unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. The intimate setting made the meal feel like a private performance. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and the chef took the time to explain the origin of each course. Flawless technique, incredible ingredients, and a wonderful atmosphere. The chef is a true artist. It wasn’t just a dinner; it was a relaxed, beautiful evening. Perfect for a special occasion or if you just want to treat yourself to the best.

We recently visited Hiramasa and reserved their 15-course omakase experience for my birthday and it was absolutely amazing! My wife and I have tried other omakase spots in downtown Philadelphia, but this one truly holds its own while being more affordable. Every course was a delight, both visually and for the palate. The variety of bites kept things exciting, and watching the chef craft each piece felt like a culinary performance. The flavors were incredible especially the wasabi relish and the garlic chili pepper crunch on a couple of the rolls. Alex, who runs the front of house, was courteous and helpful in explaining the details, and our sushi chef, Michael, did a fantastic job walking us through each dish and its unique elements. On top of the outstanding food, the cocktails were excellent. I had their twist on an Old Fashioned, and it was fantastic. We’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu. Highly recommend Hiramasa for anyone looking for a top-tier omakase experience without heading into the city!

This is one of my new favorites to avoid driving into the city for good Japanese. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was excellent! Perfect temperature, perfecting serving sizes, the quality of the sashimi is so great. We order half of the appetizer menu when we visit. A must try if you’re in the area!

I went here for the first time this week and I had one of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had. The dishes omakase was creative, aesthetically pleasing, and extreme tasty. It reminded me of the omakase experiences I had in Japan. The octopus and lamb chop dishes were amazing too. I highly recommend this place.

Very nice place. First time here. Didn't get to order anything fancy but the images on their Instagram are pretty cool. Def try them out.

The ambiance was warm and inviting, the staff were incredibly attentive, and every dish we tried was absolutely phenomenal. The highlights of the meal were undoubtedly the crispy tuna and oysters. Beyond the outstanding food, the service was equally exceptional. Steve, our server, was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and always a step ahead, ensuring our dining experience was seamless from start to finish.Overall, this was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. We can’t wait to come back!

If I could give this restaurant a 10 star review, I would! The sushi was delicious! The server was kind, knowledgeable and attentive. The hostess was accommodating and pointed out where the heaters were, which was very helpful because I preferred a cooler place to sit. The server didn't rush my business associate and I.

Great spot for quality sashimi! We stopped in for lunch on the weekend just to check it out. Top notch service from our server. Toro carpaccio was melt in your mouth with just a little smokiness and the right amount of savory. The sashimi is notably better quality than surrounding establishments. Uni udon had so much umami, and the yuzu cheesecake was light and delightful. Will be back for dinner..there is an omakase offering also that we'll be sure to try!

I tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday. It is amazing. The decor is beautiful, it’s really a nice place to take your family or to go out with friends. The service was impeccable. You could not ask for a better experience. Immediately, when you walk in you’re greeted by very friendly and professional hosting staff. We first met Mark as the host we spoke with upon our arrival. We immediately had a very friendly exchange and it made us feel very welcome. The servers are very attentive and super friendly. They take time with you to help you find dishes that you will like. Our servers name was Sam, he was super. he recommended dishes for everyone in our party that we all absolutely loved. I give him an A+++. The interior of the restaurant is very well done. It’s clear that they took a lot of time to design a beautiful dining environment. It’s very modern and everything is super clean and well taken care of. The sushi is next level. You can tell that it’s premium sushi grade fish, and everything the preparers made for us was incredible. The presentation was great. The actual dishes they use, coupled with smoky effects with dry ice, and flowers and greenery make everything look amazing. If you want to go out for a special evening, or impress friends with a super restaurant, this is the spot. I highly recommend this restaurant as I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience and I will be going back very soon!

The quality of the food, the service, as well as the atmosphere separate Hiramasa from most other Japanese Sushi bars in the area. The ingredients are fresh and refined. The plating presentation is clean and elevated. The ambiance is modern and sophisticated and the service complements the scene. Our waiter Steve was attentive, knowledgeable, and easygoing. However, the most impactful part of the evening was being able to order off-menu items. The chefs gladly accommodated our dietary restrictions and far exceeded expectations.

Excellent quality sushi! The Ube espresso martini was out of this world. I love how creative their rolls and dishes were. The service was also top tier. I could tell they were slightly backed up (barely backed up, almost didn’t even notice) and they brought over complimentary edamame for us. Sooo nice!! I would say the rolls are large, but they are on the thinner side. Great date night!!

I had the most incredible dinner at Hiramasa tonight! Everything I tried blew me away it was so good. The flavors were authentic and absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. Our server Scott was knowledgeable, thoughtful and had a great personality! I think my favorite part was cooking Wagyu on the hot stone that was brought to the table. The restaurant is beautifully designed and the service was top the line. Kudos to the chef, every dish was 10/10 in flavor and beautifully crafted. Highly recommend for any occasion, I can’t wait to go back! A hidden gem, there is truly nothing like it in the area.

Lovely dinner out. The sushi was absolutely top notch, and an order of magnitude better than a lot of the other places in the area. The cooked options were absolutely delicious, albeit, though what I got was not overall quite as earth shatteringly good as the sushi. I will also add I had a $40 combo with a few things on it, so not exactly trying out the full range of their menu.

This was my first visit however was brought here by family that have dined here countless times. The aesthetics and ambience of the restaurant are clean and tasteful. It’s dark yet light enough to see well. The service is outstanding. Our server had delightful energy with a great knowledge of the menu. The food is fresh and delicious. Talking flavorful as can be without subtracting from the natural sweet and salty flavors from the ocean. The presentation of the food truly deserves to be recognized for its wow factor! Truly one of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of dining in. The seaweed salad was crisp and refreshing with a well balanced sesame flavor. The pork gyoza was steamed perfectly with a soft and pleasant texture. Toro tartar, was fresh and light. Complimented with the avocado. Rolls I would recommend are the, Godzilla roll, golden mango roll, crazy tuna roll and crab shack roll. But honestly I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. For desert, we tried. The crème brûlée cheesecake, has to be the lightest and almost fluffy cheesecake I’ve ever had. I can not recommend enough! The chocolate lava cake is exactly what you would expect. And you can’t go wrong with the mochi sampler. Mmm so refreshing and delicious! In the end I guarantee you will be satisfied with the experience. I can’t wait to return.

Loved our experience at Hiramasa! Although they were a fairly newer restaurant dealing with a large influx of people coming in on the Friday night we went, the staff were friendly and helpful! The food was phenomenal, did not take long for us to get it, the ambiance and aesthetic was amazing, and overall it was just worth every penny. This is definitely our new favorite sushi spot in the area! Great for date night!

Enjoyed a Saturday night out with a group of 6 last night. To start, we sat at the bar while we waited for everyone to arrive which was welcoming and the bartender was top notch ( so were his drinks). My reservation update didn’t go through but they quickly helped and got us 2 extra seats for our party. Staff was welcoming and helpful which was so nice! From there, it got even better. The service was wonderful and so was the atmosphere. Our server was patient and informed and most importantly he didn’t rush us in and out like every other place in town!!! The sushi was so fresh and well priced. This was my second visit and both times were great, I hope they keep it up because it’s a great spot for a date night, group dinner, girls night or even just drinks and a roll!

Had dinner here the other night and everything we ordered was absolutely amazing! We tried the udon noodle soup with crispy vegetables, drunken noodles, pad Thai, and the Henrietta roll and honestly, every bite blew us away (and we’re foodies so that says a lot). The atmosphere is upscale, they give hot towels before your meal and free edamame, and we can’t wait to go back!

My wife and I were greeted warmly entering and offered a table for our approval. Beautiful atmosphere of soft lighting, warm colors, spacious and comfortable booth seating. Jason served us promptly with our water and tea. He reviewed the menu with confidence as he talked us through the 5 pages of menu. Ordered soup n salad, main dish and Signature roll. All served in a timely fashion. We began sharing a Ginger Garden salad, enough for us both. When we ordered the Seafood Paella, he warned of the heat and spice, so informed we ordered Chilean Sea Bass over risotto and marinated for 72 hours. Delicious and a large enough serving to share. The Signature roll: Anniversary is their creation, also enough to share and delicious. Many thanks to Jason as our liaison to the chef in knowing the food and menu so well. Thanks to the Chefs for creative fusion Japanese food. We visit here to see family annually from our home of nearly 50 years SF Bay area where we have been eating great Japanese food. This is our most unique and delicious experience. I can't wait to try other choices, maybe start with desert, maybe back one more time before we return West at the end of the month.

Very welcoming staff, water refills constantly, sushi was fresh. Omakase requires 24 hour reservation specifically (like call the restaurant); drinks were very good (they use top brands); service was excellent. Plenty of parking. Indoor and outdoor dining. We did the Kamiseki set Angus - meat was perfect, wagyu gyoza amazing - except for kimchi cucumber - lacked flavor and did not resemble kimchi at all. Crispy tuna and Atlantic city roll were very good. Crème brûlée cheesecake was not overly sweet and went down smooth not like other places that leave rich after taste. There was only 2 of us so we were sat at a small table but the table was too small. There was barely enough room for the large tray that the kamiseki set came in. Otherwise we had a very good dining experience.

Went here with a bud that lived nearby. He made reservations, we arrived a little late but they honored our reservation. First thing first, we ordered the bone marrow dish, it wasn’t a lot of food, but it was so delicious. We also ordered another app but I can not seem to remember. My buddy ordered an array of rolls for us to try. It ended out on this wooden tray, and then they activate the dry ice. It’s cool for presentation. This place I would say is great for date night, or special occasion. This isn’t your local sushi spot in a shopping mall, even if this one is. It’s more upscale and high end. Would come again, for the above stated reasons.

I ate lunch at Hiramasa on the first day open and what a pleasant experience! The ambiance is great - both elegant and inviting. Service was great; everyone was friendly and attentive. I ordered the King Alaskan Roll (spicy salmon inside with salmon and avocado outside). The presentation is gorgeous. The salmon was fresh and the roll was well prepared. The price point at Hiramasa is definitely higher than other nearby sushi spots, which I imagine is due to the focus on the vibe and presentation. I would return for a date night or special occasion.

Amazing food but i don't understand how a busy Friday night gets by with 1 bartender for the bar and the service bar. Got one drink in an hour and a half and started ordering multiple drinks at a time to make it through dinner. Almost thought the food order was forgotten like the drink order because of timing. A shame that the food is amazing but the execution is terrible. Great place if you have patience.

Hiramasa certainly has the ambiance of a high-end Japanese dining experience, with a stylish atmosphere and a vibe that sets the scene for something special. Unfortunately, our visit didn’t meet expectations with execution that didn’t quite match the ambiance combined with slow service which started immediately after being seated with nearly 15 minutes going by before water glasses were filled and not having placed a single order (and that’s just the tip of the iceberg). It quickly became clear that this place still has some wrinkles to iron out and we weren’t quite sure what to expect for the remainder of our meal. For apps, we started with the Peking Spring Roll and the Rock Shrimp Aioli. The spring rolls were more like bite-sized hors d'oeuvres than the rich, savory rolls we were hoping for – and at $12, the flavor didn’t come close to compensating for these tiny nibbles. The Rock Shrimp Aioli, dressed in a gochujang aioli, was nicely fried and had good flavor but didn’t quite make up for the rocky start led by the spring rolls. The sushi, however, was the highlight, and dare I say, some of the best I’ve had since moving to the Philly area nearly two years ago. The Tobiko Golden Mango Roll, with spicy salmon, mango, and tempura asparagus, was a delicious fusion of flavors that worked together beautifully. The Tobiko Trio Roll, topped with vibrant tobiko was as beautiful to look at as it was tasty, and the Crab Shack Roll, with spicy blue crab and homemade “crab fries” garnish, both delivered fresh flavors and creative textures that got the meal back on course. If you’re a sushi lover, these rolls are worth the trip alone. The rest of the meal, however, didn’t hit those same high notes bringing us back down on this culinary roller coaster. The Kaiseki Set, while visually impressive, was underwhelming in taste. The teriyaki chicken was overcooked and dry, and at the price point, I expected more finesse. The Beef Drunken Noodle also missed the mark, leaning more towards a dry Beef Chow Fun than the saucy, savory noodles I expected from a traditional drunken noodle-type dish. The Uni Udon Pasta, which I really wanted to love, had promise with perfectly cooked noodles, but the uni itself was nearly invisible, leaving the dish lacking that rich, briny flavor I’d hoped for. The Kimchi Fried Rice with chicken and jidori egg also fell flat, with dry chicken and a faint hint of kimchi that left me longing for more depth and spice. Overall, Hiramasa has a lot going for it in terms of atmosphere and sushi quality, but some of the dishes need a bit more polish to justify the price tag. It’s a place with a ton of potential, and if the kitchen can fine-tune a few recipes, it could certainly become a standout spot in the area. Though given it's recently opened, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. It’s definitely worth it if you’re after high-quality sushi, but perhaps not quite the full package… yet.

We loved this place when it opened and have gone many times. Ordered tonight and was surprised by the decline. Especially the crispy spicy tuna. I always get that order and tonight it was completely different and literally so small compared to the usual. There was no topping/sauce/tobiko either. Usually it’s 6 large pieces and this was 4 tiny scoops. Should have been $5, not $18. The bone marrow soup was watered down and not the same soup a month ago. See pics taken 1 month apart. Not worth the money.
