This place far exceeded our expectations. Delicious bagels, great people. 10/10 recommend trying it. We only had bagels and cream cheese, would say they were NY style authentic but would say they were delicious no matter what. We're looking forward to our next visit.

One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! Stopped by The Borscht Belt and was completely blown away. The sandwich I had was packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere has that perfect mix of charm and nostalgia, and the service was friendly and quick. Truly one of the best sandwich experiences of my life—can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu!

The food is classic, & delicious!! So grateful they have this absolute GEM near by… it is a MUST. Tuna melt excellent & of course the pastrami on rye was on point! Must get the sides of macaroni salad & Coleslaw!! Love the vibe, almost forgot to mention that as well. Onto the black & white cookie will report back, I have high hopes

We went on a Friday during the late afternoon. We were a little nervous since no one else was in the restaurant. Our waiter took our order promptly. We opted for the soup and half sandwich combo. The matzo ball soup was delicious but it was not piping hot but warm enough to eat right away. We tried the Rueben (corned beef was lean and plentiful), the brisket cheesesteak ( served on a seeded roll with onions), and Potato latkes (served with applesauce and sour cream). My husband tried the chocolate egg cream (seltzer, milk, and Fox chocolate syrup). A few people came in for takeout while we were there. We overheard the manager speaking to a customer that they have been very busy with Goldbelly orders. It is nice to hear that a local restaurant is doing well.

Came here 20 minutes before closing. The only staff at the front were very friendly. The place looks sparkly clean Ordered a smash burger and brisket dinner By the time the food was ready, it was already 7 pm and we had to leave so that they can close Will definitely come back here and try their other sandwiches I was told that the “Rachel” is a good one to try so that’s on my bucket list and reason to come back Sans the kids 🤪

The Borscht Belt was an amazing dining experience. The atmosphere was gentle and charming, and so was the gentleman who served us. The food was amazing. The brisket cheesesteak was the best cheesesteak I have ever had. The meat was moist, and the cheese was so strong and flavorful. It really elevated the dish! My wife and I tried babka for the first time here, and we were blown away by it. The Borscht Belt is fantastic, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves good food! We will definitely revisit!

I came here for lunch with my daughter, as we both looking for some good sandwiches. I had heard great things about Borscht Belt being an authentic NYC style delicatessen that also has great bagels. We weren’t disappointed! We came at lunch on a Friday, so it wasn’t busy at all. So the amount of service was impressive! We had five people check in with us to make sure we had what we needed, that we were enjoying our food, and bringing us samples to test. And all the workers, including the owner, were super nice. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the service. The food was also awesome. They provide pickles and coleslaw as an appetizer, both of which were great. We shared the potato latkes, which was delicious. My daughter had a breakfast sandwich on an amazing challah bread, and I had a soup and half sandwich. For the soup, I had the matzo ball soup, which was the best I’ve had. For the sandwich, I picked the Don Rickles (roast beef sandwich). They put a nice spin on a classic, with crispy onions, horseradish aoili, and jalapeños. It was fantastic. We also got a dozen of their authentic NYC Ess-a bagels to go. They are partially cooked in NYC and shipped here so they can be finished and served fresh. With so many creative dishes on the menu to try, and such great service, plus a great old school 50s deli vibe, how can we not come back? Looking forward to our next visit! Keep up the great work!

The team at the Borscht Belt was as excellent as the Matza ball soup and salad! Cheers to Nick, Brandon and Mike…. They made us feel so warm and welcome…. Just like eating in a South Philly kitchen. We will be back!! Thank you all and Happy New Year!

I love it here!!! Stopped in today for their first anniversary party. I sat outside and had great service and the food arrived quickly and was delicious. I went for brunch , but also wanted to grab a few pints of their new ice-cream collab with Nina’s waffles. One of which was the matzah crack that sold out over Passover. My waitress brought me out a free sample of the actual matzah crack and it did not disappoint. Definitely recommend and highly support!!!

Warm and welcoming! delicious food with only the finest ingredients. This place is a gem, and there is nothing like it in the area. Nick has such talent and creativity when it comes to unique versions of classic dishes. You must visit or order online!

Phenomenal deli experience. A modern throwback to the classic NY deli experience and the famous hotels in the Catskills that made up the "Borscht Belt" back in their heyday. The staff couldn't be more accommodating and the food was out of this world. We tried the matzo ball soup, the 50/50 (steamed corned beef and pastrami on rye, the Miss Maisel sandwich, black and white cookie, and chocolate Babka. They import food daily from the best of the best including bread and baked goods from Rockland Bakery, Babka from a 150 year old bakery in Brooklyn, knishes from the famous Knish Nosh, bagels from Ess-a-bagel, and their meats are done in house. They also offer an expansive array of smoked fish and other products to take home. Everything here is top notch and the place itself has such a cool vibe. It's not often I walk out of a restaurant already planning our next visit and what we will order. Our next visit will likely be for breakfast because it looks fantastic. I also found out they will be upgrading their location in the Trenton Farmers Market which I’m excited to try. A big 5 stars for the. Borscht Belt!

Really enjoy the Borscht Belt. Have had some memorable food. The bagels and bialys come from NY and they are superior. I’ve had each with nova, salmon salad, horseradish cream cheese, and onions. Outstanding! I’ve also had their excellent potato pancakes (latkes) with their homemade applesauce. In addition, I’ve tried their turkey on rye with their delicious coleslaw, pickles, and potato knish’s. In fact, they have both round and square knish’s. Lastly, the chocolate babka is first tier. Can’t wait to return!

Quality authentic Deli. No shortcuts here. Hope they can keep the consistency that so many local restaurants have lost. Kid approved, 8 yo inhaled the pastrami and chicken soup.

Absolutely amazing! New York classics, each bite transports you back in time! I especially loved the matzoh ball soup. Flavorful with a perfect matzoh ball that did not disappoint. Wish they were closer. So happy to be able to order through GoldBelly.

This an awesome little deli, hidden away in Newtown. I came in and didn’t know what to order. All of the food looked so good. Was suggested the Banh Mitzvah. I love a good Banh Mi, so I went with it on name alone. I must say they did a great job. It’s like a mix between a cheesesteak and a banh mi. Now I have to go back and try all the other stuff. Definitely the borscht.

Everything is delicious! Best pastrami! We had to wait for online order. They apologized & threw in bagels & other extras. How nice was that?! Chef Nicky was there & said hello to us.

I placed an order on door dash and picked up my bagel and when I got to my appt my bagel was wrong . I called the restaurant and they apologized a million times … remade it … and delivered it to where I had an appt and also gave me a piece of cheesecake. The owner or whoever was there was so nice and accommodating and I will absolutely go back !! Really recommend and the food is delicious !

SENSATIONAL!! We came for breakfast and loved it! We had the corned beef hash skillet and the eggs Benedict over latkes. Both were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The vibe of the place is nostalgic. Christa was our server and she is absolutely delightful: fun, personable and attentive. Oh, and they have traditional deli stuff to go too! Please check out the Borscht Belt; you won’t be disappointed!

I had an amazing experience at The Borscht Belt! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was exceptional. Our waiter, Antonio, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He was friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations that turned out to be spot on. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days, and Antonio truly made our visit memorable. Highly recommend this place — can’t wait to come back again soon!

I work for the Nakashima Foundation in New Hope and we had a great experience ordering from the Borscht Belt for event catering. The bagels were hot and delicious, and the catering package was worth the price. Staff is also fantastic. Tony went out of his way to make sure everything was ready to go for our event!

I had such a wonderful experience during my visit! The service was truly top-notch, and my waiter, Mr. Delfin, made the night extra special. He was kind, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. It really felt like he went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. I can’t thank him enough for such an amazing dining experience!

We LOVE The Borscht Belt! The food is always good. You can’t go wrong with the Latkes Benedict - definitely add the pastrami! Service is always great! Antonio is a dear and takes such good care of us! It’s become a staple place for us!

I think I'm in love with this place. Tony and Antonio are incredible, warm, hospitable dudes. The food is excellent — loved the brisket au jus and the latke tots! It feels like a little piece of the old neighborhood in a place so far from it. I will definitely be coming back, and highly recommend this place.

Moved to Newtown and found this “hidden gem” in a shopping center while going to the Newtown Farmers Market. Restaurant was clean as can be, friendly staff, great 50s tunes and the diner food compares to some of the best that I Ever had in top NJ Diners. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict and Skillets!

The latke tots were our favorite. It was a kid friendly environment. The food was delicious. The service was fast. The music was great. Love the skillets served in a cast iron skillet too. Christa was a great server. Very friendly and efficient. We bought a loaf of challah last week which was great for French toast.

Gluten free options tasted great! The regular pastrami sandwich was the best I've had in the area. The matzo ball soup and chicken soup were both great when my family was sharing a cold.

Only issue is price but for the high quality I can totally understand. The portions were enough. The French fries were so so stay away from them. But go for the mini latkes for an alternative instead. Our server was very knowledgeable with everything and all history of the restaurant and the food.

Food is always delicious and atmosphere is great! Our server was Antonio, who was absolutely amazing and provided the best service to us. We even had our little baby with us and he made sure we had plenty of space for a stroller, brought food and drinks to us very quickly, and got the check as soon as we asked. We somehow managed to get through a full lunch all during baby’s nap which never happens and was incredible! 10 out of 10 service!

Went here on a whim. Impressed with the quality of the food. Delicious sandwiches, lakes, drinks and bagels. We will definitely be back. There was 4 of us dining and we brought home warm bagels for the next day, spent $100. Updated: We regularly visit since my 1st review. In the last few months things have changed a bit. Portions have been slightly smaller and the price raised slightly. Completely understand things cost more, but I would pay more to keep the same quality. The last 2 times we visited I ordered the same sandwich. Both times there was an issue with my sandwich. The last time the bread was wrong and I had to ask someone behind the counter for a knife because the sandwich was not cut all the way through. This time when I ordered the sandwich the bread was correct, but there was so much lettuce(Which I asked to have removed) was on it and the tomatoes were cut thick with the core still in it. Overall, I think the borscht belt is amazing, its just in the last few months the quality and attention to detail has faulted and these where the things that made them stand out compared to other places.

We did not have a reservations on a Sunday and they fit us in! I went for Mrs.Mazel and the schmeer of chopped liver takes the pastrami to a new level. My wife got her usual, everything bagel, lox w/ scallion cream cheese. Begal had great seasoning and soft inside. Plenty of lox for a sandwich and a half.

Was visiting the area from Brooklyn NY, stopped in to see if the food could compare. Antonio was our server and was accommodating and welcoming, even gave us a taste of dessert on our way out ! Food was legit, turkey Rachel was a winner.

L

Paid $18 for soup and half a sandwich. The sandwich was TINY - a TINY piece of bread with a teaspoon of chopped liver. It came in a little bowl. The last time I was there the sandwich was huge and overloaded and had lettuce & tomato. The food was good enough and the service was great. Attached is a pic of my dining partner’s soup 1/2 sandwich. Soup was saltier than we like and didn’t have much in it. Sandwich was slightly bigger but still not worth the money. I won’t be going back unless I’ve heard they’ve fixed this ridiculous price and portion thing.

We liked this place a lot a few times that we ordered here, so yesterday we ordered again and were very excited, but this time the corn beef sandwich was awful. It was so flimsy and chewy that we couldn’t eat it and threw it out. We ordered in the evening, so maybe they gave us leftover pieces of the meat that were all flimsy and chewy fat at the price tag of nearly $20 p/sandwich. It was disgusting and completely unchewable. Their pickles were not homemade like before and tasted sour. The salmon sandwich was so salty that no one could tolerate it and the bread was burnt, so we also threw it out. Their Ruben and Tuna melt were goid, so we split it among 4 people and ordered takeout elsewhere. Very sad that we had a negative experience. We really wanted to love it.

I ordered safgoniyots to pick up on December,14. My daughter picked them up and when we opened the box we were completely stunned. They didn’t look like safgoniyots, they were not fresh, actually hard as a rock. We cut one in half to try and everything went to trash. They tasted like a stale bread. Very disappointing. Spoiled our and of the meal.🤦‍♀️

D
Diana Leygerman

We ordered sufganiyot and babka for a Hanukkah party last night. On Friday night I received a text saying the babka was refunded. No phone call, no explanation. I called on Saturday to ask about it and was told they sold out of the babka. I understand that happens but it would have been nice to get a phone call and be offered another option. Obviously we are ordering for a party and need more than just 2 dozen donuts. Then, when we picked up the donuts, they looked awful. We brought them to the party and they were inedible. Stale, only half dozen out of 2 dozen were powdered. They tasted like stale bread and were hard as a rock. They were hardly touched all night. It was truly a disappointing experience for a first time customer. Those were not sufganiyot, and I don't know what they were.

Forgot multiple items in our order, grounds in the coffee, and the absolute rudest customer service we have ever experienced. Stay away from this place at all costs.

See update below review to their pathetic response. I have also noticed on other negative reviews, they always have a poor excuse or its the reviewers fault. I received a rather expensive delivery through Goldbelly from this business $129.95 + tax . It arrived with all the ice melted and sat in 67° heat for several hours. The order was packed with four small ice bricks from Uline. When opened, the turkey is rancid, and smells awful. The cheese is soft to the touch. The coleslaw is liquid and warm. The pickles are warm too as well as the condiments. I opened all that you see in the pictures. That supposedly polar tech bag kept nothing cold. This business needed to put adequate ice packs in and they didn't. They went cheap to save a few bucks. I hope it was worth it because I'll never do business with them ever. I included pictures of the order. The only thing that wasn't sealed is the coleslaw. I opened everything to see if anything could be salvaged and unfortunately it cannot because of the bacteria that is on them. This was not shipped overnight. It sat for a couple of days with FedEx. Sad thing is I live in Pennsylvania and was looking forward to trying food from this place. In response to your answer, IT is entirely your fault. Not Goldbelly. If you didn't try to cut costs and used appropriate number of gel bricks the entire order would have been fine. No thank you on an reorder.

One time I called about a food recall that affected an ingredient in a deli item I purchased and brought home. I wanted to confirm if the ingredient in question was the brand from the recall. The guy on the phone told me he didn't have time for that and hung up on me. Almost $20 for a sandwich is absurd, but it should at least come with great customer service, especially when it relates to possible food contamination. The one cook was nice when I dined in before, though.

I'd been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and decided I would take a chance today and get takeout for dinner. I was so disappointed. I got the pastrami on rye Rachel style. The pastrami had so much fat in each slice that it was a struggle to eat. I was picking the meat apart after a few bites. The bread on the sandwich wasn't toasted (as it should have been) and quickly turned into a soggy mess. I also ordered their shoestring fries with mensch sauce. The fries were droopy and I threw most of them away. The only things I enjoyed were the potato salad side I ordered and the pickle that came with the sandwich. I must have come on a bad day because all of the other reviews (dine-in) for this location are glowing. I guess this is a bad place to get takeout. When you really love food, this type of experience hurts.
