We had a really great experience at Rous. The concept is based on taking Cypriot/ Greek dishes and giving them a more gourmet, modern twist, and honestly, it works extremely well. Everything we tried felt thoughtful without being overcomplicated, and the flavors were spot on. One thing that stood out was how comfortable they are with unusual combinations. The salad, for example, included jelly and pear, which sounded a bit strange at first, but it ended up being one of the most interesting salads I’ve had in a long time. The balance was great and nothing felt out of place. Our favorite dish by far was the afelia. The meat was incredibly soft, almost melting, and packed with flavor. The melted halloumi alongside it was rich and very satisfying without being heavy. It’s one of those dishes you keep thinking about after the meal. Desserts are also worth mentioning don’t skip them. They’re light, well thought out, and a nice way to finish without feeling too full. You can tell there’s the same level of care in the desserts as in the main dishes. Overall, Rous does a great job of respecting traditional Cypriot food while still doing something fresh and different and maintaining the island's vibe from the minimalistic decor to even their tablewear and glasswear. Easily one of the better dining experiences in Nicosia, and a place I’d happily go back at.
Visiting Cyprus and wanting to try something extraordinary led me here. It was exactly what I was looking for! The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, the service is warm, and the food is absolutely amazing. The flavors, textures, and combinations are so refined and creative. Worth every penny. I can see myself here in the nearest future.
A wonderful restaurant. The testing set was excellent, all the dishes looked amazing, a very interesting interpretation of greek cuisine. The service was on the high level. Nice interior and atmosphere. The reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend it.

OMG! great discovery! I had exploded set menu and local wine paring. Wonderful time! I was sitting at the chef table too see the open kitchen and talking with the chef. Chef seems very dedicated and open minded, which I love to talk with him. Thank you, chef and all very nice staffs. I really enjoyed my time there. It is very worthy.
Everything was great, wine pairing is 100% recommended , it definitely upgraded the whole experience. My personal favorites were the seafood dolma, Cypriot white shrimp yakitori and the beef fillet , absolutely delicious. Lamb rack and the lentil salad were too salty for my personal liking but other than that everything was great. Staff was very kind and friendly, atmosphere was super nice, I will definitely recommend to my friends and family. It was a very nice experience and I would love to go again 👌🏽🤩

Each dish was a delightful journey through the rich culinary traditions of Cyprus, reimagined with a modern twist. The service was equally impressive. Everyone was smiling and took great care of us, making us feel very welcome. We opted for the tasting menu, which was specially prepared for us on the spot, even though the restaurant typically offers a regular menu. The selection was amazing and showcased the chef's talent and creativity. Two standout dishes were the cabbage-wrapped seafood, which was truly outstanding, and the hamachi in almond sauce, which we highly recommend!

Hands down, this is the easiest 5/5 I have ever given. Rous is a true gem in Nicosia, delivering a fine dining experience that is both refined and deeply rooted in Cypriot tradition. Every dish is meticulously structured, with attention given to the finest details, transforming each bite into a journey through the rich flavors of Cyprus. The chef's goal of elevating traditional Cypriot cuisine is not only achieved but masterfully executed. The atmosphere at Rous is warm and inviting, with a vibrant yet intimate ambiance that enhances the dining experience. We had the privilege of sitting at the chef's table, allowing us to witness the kitchen in full action. Observing the passion, precision, and dedication of the team was a highlight of the evening. The organization and effort that go into every dish are truly admirable. The Culinary Experience: Amuse-bouche Trilogy: Beetroot salad | Spicy trout on kolokasi crisp | Pomme soufflé with tarama. This was the perfect way to start the dinner, setting the tone for what was to come. Housemade Bread Selection: Sourdough Baguette | Malted Rye & Wholegrain Roll with Tahini Molasses Seeds | Carob Glazed Lagana Bread, served with homemade cultured butter. The butter was, quite possibly, the best I have ever had—so full of flavor and richness. Seafood Dolma: A beautifully balanced dish of octopus, mussels, Cypriot shrimps, and fish avgolemono. For seafood lovers, this is a must-try, as it delivers an explosion of oceanic flavors. Louvana Soup: Foie gras parfait | Flaxseeds | Mandarin gel | Pink peppercorns | Hiromeri | Wild mushrooms. This dish transported me straight to Cyprus, with its deep flavors and luxurious texture. Cypriot White Shrimp Yakitori: Lamb fat | Butternut squash textures | Kolokasi | Caramelized apple gel | Curry leaf sauce. An incredibly creative dish, with the lamb fat adding a souvla-like flavor that paired wonderfully with the shrimp. Rabbit Pastitsio Ravioli Doppi: Rabbit ragù | Halloumi bechamel | Black truffle emulsion | Roasted yeast emulsion. One of my absolute favorites. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the halloumi bechamel was outstanding. I found myself wishing for just one more ravioli! Beef Cheeks: Kolokasi foam with impeccable texture | Stifado jus | Shallot crumb. Another standout main dish, with the beef cheeks melting in the mouth, perfectly complemented by the intensely flavorful stifado jus. Rice Pudding: 'Oros Maxaira' Honey | Bee pollen | Crispy milk froth | Anari cream. Easily one of the best desserts I have had in a restaurant. I couldn't get enough, and the chef was generous enough to offer us a refill! Morokanella Sour Candy: A playful, creative, and delightful ending to an already exceptional meal. Another highlight of the night was the exceptional service. The staff at Rous are not only friendly and attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the ingredients and dishes they serve. Each course was presented with care and detailed explanations, enhancing the overall experience. Rous sets the bar high for fine dining in Nicosia. Amazing place! We have anniversary of our wedding, everything was perfect. We order degustation set, all set was perfect, a lot of local product. It was like small trip out of Cyprus with Cyprus taste. The chef is brilliant, with so much love to what he did and to the Cyprus.
The food was rich with flavors, it is very emotional as it gets your taste buds elevated even though you still can taste the traditions in some dishes, for me it’s definitely a must visit in Cyprus especially for a special event. Money to value it is worth it.
Imaculate service and a culinary jorney that made you smile. Each dish served was better than the prior. We were sad that opted for the classic and not the adventure menu however we were full anyhow. Everything was just perfect. Worths the price tag 100% Ideal for special events. Loved it. Michelin star worth.
A high end restaurant, pricey, that you go for the experience The food is tasty, looks amazing, and it is very obvious that there is high technique in achieving each of the dishes like for example the ravioli with the runny eggs yolk inside. Same goes for all dishes So the food was very tasty but the technique that went into it was more amazing We ordered wine in a glass. We do this often in restaurants. The quantity they put in the glass was far too little. That is a minus and there ja no excuse for it. The staff were very professional, smiling and helping and took the time to explain everything, and you could tell they were doing their absolute best If I would change something ... I would make the service more casual and less uptight and formal. Yes, quick service is very important, but having someone almost on top of you constantly, like a French style posh restaurant treating you like a lord, for me it's a bit too much ... but this is a matter of taste. And I suppose the owner wanted to give a somewhat posh high end experience
One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. We sat at the Chef's table and the Head Chef took great care of us. We opted for the "meze" experience and the food was exquisite. Full of Cypriot notes with local and sustainable ingredients. 10/10 would recommend
Great atmosphere all around. We tried the extended experience tasting menu. Definitely lots of food. Refined Mediterranean tastes all around. Sadly thr red mullet was not available, so there was a substitution with sea bass. Might have to be back just to try that one. Excellent suggestions by the sommelier. Great evening all around.
Rous is the place to go to if you're looking for a unique fine dining experience, with a Michelin star level food made by probably Cyprus most promising chef, such a talent! We were lucky to enjoy the Christmas special 6-courses menu and we accompanied it by matching wines recommended by one of the best sommeliers on the island. It's not your classic daily greek restaurant, it's the one to experience, if you wanna treat yourself and your tongue!
I have visited rous a few times and the quality and presentation of the dishes is consistent. Some of my favorite dishes are the fish ceviche, seared scallops and the beef fillet During my last visit, I ordered the rack of lamb and they were a little too fatty (quality should be better) but good. I love the mushroom risotto but it wasn’t on the current menu. Good option for a special occasion.
Pleasant and romantic atmosphere with a very good service. The food is tasty and well prepared with superb plating in nearly all dishes. I would suggest that you visit the place to experience the "full chapter". Attention to some details (i.e. music at the background, full explanation of each plate) can provide excellence to this restaurant.
We had a lovely romantic dinner with my husband. Staff was very attentive, food was great. I didn’t enjoy the combo calamari+lentils, (but this is my personal taste) Gnocchi with mushrooms were the highlight of the evening. I have to say that the steak was great . It is really difficult to find genuinely great and tender beef fillet. This one was fantastic. We topped it up with decaf espresso martini, it was great to my spoilt high London standards. All in all great experience will come back again. Highly recommend to everyone who are looking for a special night out👌🏻👍🏼
Had the vegetarian menu which was 10/10. The wine pairings were also top notch, of which we had the more expensive package. Service was phenomenal and no qualms about anything. Worth the visit. Atmosphere was relaxed, yet classy and chill.
Absolutely incredible culinary experience - we ordered the food journey, 6 courses (4 starters, main and dessert) and it was beyond expectations. The attention to detail and flavor was impressive. So excited about everything that forgot to take photo is dessert but it was also magnificent !!!

It's a nice restaurant with an amazing ambience the details of the set up on the table have a very nice aesthetic and the service was exquisite... we were warmly welcomed by the owner and the stuff...the waiters were extremely polite and the food was on point timewise...now the food was tasty besides a couple of things that need a bit more thought... what I'd definitely recommend is the Tarama as a welcome course with the amazing bread and the beef cheeks as a main course which were my favourite in the meal and probably some of the best beef cheeks I ve tried...there were also choices for vegetarians and a special dish of the day that was extra from the menu which was the cauliflower steak which was incredible and my girlfriend really enjoyed it and so did I... would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone that visits nicosia and want to have an enjoyable dinner or for a special occasion! Special thanks to andreas and the 3 waitresses that were so friendly and hospitable!

Lifetime experience! Fine dining at its best. Andreas will travel you through this culinary voyage. My proposal is to visit this place at least 2 times . You must try the degustation menu and the a la carte menu. I am not going to throw you any spoiler, the image speaks by itself.
Rous was my first proper high end dining experience that I had in Cyprus, where creative cuisine meets refinement and finesse. All the components worked in perfect balance, food, service, atmosphere. Regardless of the price is a place that I will visit again! After a second rou d of another excellent experience I am adding some photos from their chapter IX menu!

One of the best restaurants I have been to in Nicosia. Service was great and the food was exceptionally good. I have tried the striploin (the meat was fantastic, was cooked to perfection- I ordered mine medium rare) and the chocolate mousse (not heavy at all, not very sweet, it was perfect, especially with the mango combination/ice cream). I totally recommend this place for a special occassion or when you would like to spoil yourself or loved one with great food.
A fantastic cuisine that will suprise your pallette in most steps. A big and solid selection of wines. Very well trained staff and a good selection of backround music. All theae make for a fine dinig experience.

Visited Rous for a business diner. The atmosphere is amazing and everything is on point. Exactly what you would expect from a high end restaurant. Had the 6 course tasting menu. Amuse-bouche (chef’s welcoming) was a cheese ball vey tasty. As for the actual 6-course, the star was the mushroom risotto! Friendly stuff and amazing hospitality. Will revisit for sure!

We were eager for a nice night out with fine foods and by chance we stumbled upon Rous. Ofcourse we booked that same day. Everthing that night felt as coming to ease. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was relaxing, the service was warm and cosy. We did like the local approach of the menu, we learned quite a lot of the Cypriotic ingredients. And did they taste amazing!! No rush and fine dining makes happy people :)
Amazing food, could have a little faster service, the only complain is that I asked for a whiskey with one ice cube and came with full ice the first glass, but not a big deal.

Excellent food combining local ingredients from various parts of Cyprus. The atmosphere is great and the customer service to the point. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a special dining experience. Perfect for romantic dinners but also for business dinners. This is a hidden gem in Nicosia!

Delicious food based on the Cypriot cuisine and local fresh ingredients, refined and with a twist. Exceptional service in a very nice atmosphere!
In the heart of Nicosia I discovered ROUS Restaurant, and it truly stood out. The menu is contemporary Mediterranean, the vibe refined yet relaxed. My starter was a beautifully plated dish of seasonal vegetables with local goat cheese and a drizzle of honey — simple, but refined. The main was grilled fish with herbs from Cyprus, served with velvety mashed potato and a vibrant side salad. The staff made a point of checking in without hovering. The interior speaks of modern elegance: soft lighting, tasteful music, and views over the city. It’s the kind of place where tradition (Mediterranean, local produce) meets modern dining expectations. If you want a dinner that says “I’m here, enjoying Cyprus at its best”, this is exactly that. Booking ahead is wise. I left satisfied, confident that I’d made a great choice.
It was our second time dining here, and it won’t be the last. The restaurant has a great ambience and the food is delicious. The extra mini starters at the beginning were a delightful surprise, and both our main dishes were cooked to perfection. It’s one of the best fine dining reataurants in Nicosia. 5/5 December 2023 review: Our third visit to this restaurant left us with mixed feelings. Despite the exceptionally slow service, which extended our meal to an exhausting 3 hours to finish the tasting menu, the food quality has noticeably declined since the change in chef. While the dishes were well-cooked and delicious, they lacked the creativity and excitement we had previously experienced. Although we enjoyed our meal, we couldn't shake the feeling that it fell short of our expectations. With hopes for improvement, we rate it 4/5.
Food was good except for my main dish which was served on a chipped off plate. When asked, the waitress said their special ceramic plates were hand made. And they don't throw them out. Nevertheless, even in my home, I don't serve any of my guest on a broken plate. The answer the restaurant gave me is unacceptable. They could have used their old plate for cooking but not for service. It doesn't go with the chic ambience of the restaurant and the type of gourmet food they are serving. Sorry. We used to go to the old Rous restaurant for special occasions, and it was always a real treat. The staff would explain every dish and take your coats at the entrance. The food was extraordinary, served with real cotton napkins and a great selection of special beers. Unfortunately, the new Rous has dropped in the quality of its service and, to some extent, the dishes as well. There are now too many tables, and the atmosphere is no longer the same as in the old Rous. We may come again, but it will certainly feel different.
Used to be my favourite restaurant! Yesterday I visited their new place and even though they told me the chef remained the same, the menu, taste and presentation were horrible to average. Such a pity cause now I will have to find a new place
We have booked for the set menu. We were informed that this is possible only due to less busy times 6:30 to 7:30 which is not somewhere shown. They should have informed when we booked. Then we were seated in front of the the bar by ourselves which didnt seem to be a place to have a table - waiters coming and going above us. They were nice at the beginning but later we were not really taken care of. I have asked for 2 wines and they didnt have them. I manager to find the one I wanted on the 3rd try. Food was below average - only thing I liked was the Louvana soup and Trahanoto. Steak arrived late and cold. This is not worth the money we paid- its ok to be expensive but this was not worth it. I will not be visting again
