BRY was my server nice smile friendly and attentive. Food was great cheese enchiladas and queso dip MMMM thin fresh crispy tortilla chips MMM at the end of dinner Lily can over to ensure I had great service and good food also talked to me about other good local eats thanks for the good food and great time!
My wife and I enjoy the brunch at Lupe’s. The pancakes are especially great (and huge!) I enjoy the fajitas as well.
Long wait but worth the wait! Everything I had was delicious. Huge homemade tortillas in combination with the queso flameado OMG so good. The chicken and especially the beef fajitas will be some of the best you will have ever had. The shrimp is really good to when dipped with the buttery sauce but sauce is not necessary. Only thing I didnt really like was the rice and refried beans but its not really a big deal. The charro beans are really good and will be served with your chips coupled with some pretty good salsa. I highly recommend the Fajita Grandioso Platter!
Before arriving at the restaurant, be sure to get on the waitlist to avoid delays in getting seated. We came on a busy Saturday evening and thankfully were seated quickly thanks to the waitlist. By the way, their salsa is to die for. Pretty spicy, but worth the heat!!! We ordered the ribs, fajitas (trio of steak, chicken, shrimp), Barbacoa tacos, and crispy beef tacos. Service is friendly and efficient. We were so impressed with how fast everything was. I wish we were locals so that we could come back again!
Absolutely Outstanding Service from Erin! We had such a great dining experience at Lupe Tortilla, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server, Erin. He works Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays—so if you’re planning a visit, definitely try to sit in his section! Erin’s service was truly exceptional. He was attentive without being overbearing, consistently checking in at just the right times. He made sure our drinks were always full, cleared empty plates quickly, and made our whole dinner feel relaxed and enjoyable. It’s the small things he did—like quietly noticing when we needed something or making sure everything was just right—that really stood out. It’s rare to find someone who takes so much pride in providing genuinely great service, and Erin made our night so much better because of it. We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll be asking for Erin again!
Fantastic salsa. Beans refried in bacon fat the way it's supposed to be. Delicious fajita meat. Katy was attentive and helpful. First time here.
What a "Hidden Treasure!" This place must be the best kept secret in Austin. Very Spacious! Decore is Awesome! Service is Smart & Snappy and very Attentive! I'm nerdy 🤓 so I judge Mexcial Restarunts on how good there Queso is and there's is Top Notch so far!! It wasn't exactly Bursting with Cheese Flavor (like mines 😃) but there wasn't a "lake of grease" that I had 2 maneuver & traverse thru (👀@U wyley's 🧊🏚) deffinately will be returning to cruse & sample the entire menu. 😉 Money Well Spent Ya won't be dissapointed in this 1 ☆TRUST☆
I was super stoked to learn that the fajita meats are gluten free at this restaurant. It's surprising to me the number of places I go to that have gluten in their marinated meats. The waiter recommended the filet fajitas and boy did that ruin me. It was sooo tasty and just melted in our mouths. I don't know if I'll be satisfied with regular beef fajitas ever again. Also loved the non stop chips and salsa!
Absolutely brilliant. This unassuming location nestled in the parking lot of a medium sized strip mall in northern Austin delivers everything perfectly. Prefect cocktails, perfect food, perfect atmosphere.
This was our first time here and man I do have to state that everything we had was super fresh and delicious. We had a chance to sample the steak fajitas with lime sauce 😋 If I were to suggest only one thing those would be it! Compliments to the chief! We did order the chicken fajitas for the table and queso.. we all had an adult beverage which I had the berry and my finance had sunrise en la playa. We definitely will be returning!
This is a great place for breakfast/brunch. We ordered Praline pancake and Chile Fuego Omelette sans meat. The Omelette was very well done, good portion and super tasty. The potatoes were the star. Lightly seasoned and perfectly fried, loved it! The pancake was thin and moist. Our server Amari was attentive, pleasing and made the whole experience great for us.
First time going here since moving to Austin 3 yrs ago and the food was great flavor was amazing and the drinks were also delicious definitely going back again Came back recently and it was just as good as the first time. Got the asada and shrimp and wife got the beef fajitas also had the margarita flight and the Watermelon mint margarita and our server was super nice and attentive.
Honestly, pleasantly surprised. I really didn't have high expectations, and the prices could probably be a bit lower, but it honestly pretty great. I guess it was a bit slow, but service was great and the food was excellent.
This was an amazing spot for brunch. I have been to Austin many times and we randomly came here as a meeting place and I was so impressed. Sweet and savory options, and the portions are hearty, you will for sure get full. I would definitely go back. Great service and overall 5 stars.
Elgin gave us great service. It was my first time and it was definitely a treat. They put hard work into their delicious food. I loved how a manager touched our table and gave us some knowledge behind the restaurant. Thank you!!!!
Update 1 (June 9th, 2025) (5 Stars): I originally gave this restaurant 2 stars because they were infuriatingly slow. I do believe in second chances, so I came back again later. I am pleased to say the service was excellent this time around. And the food was great as well. Congrats on being promoted from 2 to 5 stars from me. I'll be back again. Original Review (July 9th, 2024) (2 Stars): Slowwwww. Took an hour to get seated. Half the tables are empty. Forever to get a waiter. Forever to get foods and drinks.
The food was amazing the service was great they even gave each one of us a free fajita to try it out and the server was kind my mom and sister were hangry and even when we didn’t have food he improved their moods even mine and I was already doing fine
Everything was really good. Large portions as well. I rarely ask for a "to go" box, but I did today. Already looking forward to finishing it tomorrow!
I was iron deficient so we decided to visit Lupe Tortilla. We have been here a few times already and this place is definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants in town. Compared with other Mexican restaurants, their prices are a little higher, but the food is really fresh and they use high-quality meat for all dishes. We had Beef Fajitas and Steak Lupe. I really liked the Steak Lupe, the flavor was awesome and it had burned cheese on it! It is a fun and friendly place to visit, great for a date or the family gathering. The only down part is that they are busy… that tells you something, right? :) We suggest you go early so you can get a table easily.
My husband and I came to this location for our date night and Katy (the new girl) was our server. She was so kind and attentive to all of our needs. We had LOTS of questions and she made sure to get back to us with answers for all of them. We will definitely be back and we will definitely be sure to request this sweet young lady for our next visit. 10/10 for service and deliciousness.
The food never misses!! Service can be spotty but we keep coming back!!! The queso is to die for & the complimentary charro beans are my favorite. The house margs are pretty good & on happy hour as well. One thing I notice the managers are always on top of talking to the guests. I almost never fail to see/talk to them.
My favorite fajitas. I only get them at Lupe. They are good because several components are well executed. The beef has a lime marinade and it’s soft and charred well with onions and poblano peppers. Watch out for that Jalapeño. It can get you and leave you speechless. They serve both flour and corn tortillas so you get the best of both worlds. There’s rice, guacamole, salsa, cheese and refried beans. I like to get the pepper shrimp and build me a Surf and Turf fajita. When you get seated they bring out chips with charro beans and roasted salsa. These are so good, I have to be careful not to eat too many chips. The wait can be long. Plan ahead. The Margaritas don’t settle well with me here. They may be too strong for me.
Celebrating my son’s birthday in Austin (coming from Dallas) and stopped by this gem, amazing Tex mex food. I ordered the chilaquiles CHEFS KISS!!! Our server (I don’t remember her name ): ) she was the best!! Very friendly. And the other servers sang happy birthday to my son. Only downside was that our car battery died BUT one of the managers helped us jump start our car. Not only is the food delicious, the staff is hands down outstanding!!! Thank you for making our experience an amazing one ♥️✨
This place is our favorite tex-mex spot. Fajitas, enchiladas, margarita's everything is delicious. I always get the Pedro plate, 2 enchiladas, one braised beef and the other is cheese. Fajitas with stuffed crab shrimp is the best ever! There is always a wait but just have a drink at the bar and chill. Great spot! Grilled chicken with artichoke and spinach is so good!!!
Today, we sat in the bar area; the bartender was incredible with keeping up with us on top of everything else. We got our normal, fajitas and a queso . Was fantastic as usual.
This is my 2nd time at Lupe Tortilla, 1st time in this location though. I did have an issue the 1st time I ate at Lupe and upon leaving a negative review, I was contacted with a lovely manager who gave a gift card so that I could give it a second chance Today I come here to say that this time was much much better! Food was delicious, service was great and our experience was wonderful Thank you for the gift card and giving us a chance to come back We recommend it now!
Great food and fast service! It was busy and a little noisy, but definitely to be expected on a Friday night. Our party of 6 was seated immediately and our waiter was very prompt and attentive!
40ish min wait on a Saturday night but totally worth it. Huge, fresh tortillas. Beef fajitas with sausage and shrimp added
“Excellent dinner, tasty drinks and an excellent staff.” Passing through Austin last Thursday on our way to San Angelo, my husband and I stopped in for dinner. It’s was delicious, even better than the one we go to regularly in Kemeh. My husband’s fajitas were outstanding and my favorite green chicken enchiladas will always be my go-to dish here. The bar server (Sara) was excellent. Had us laughing, very attentive, and gave us tips on what to do and see in the area on our way back. Btw- She makes “great drinks” too. We were first waiting at the bar for a table and just decided to eat right there which turned out to be fun decision. There are lots of secure parking dpots and restaurant & restrooms were very clean. Overall it was a great way to help split up a long day. In the car. Like my husband told Sara when we left in his bad Terminator movie voice, “We’ll be back!”. Lol
What an experience!! Sunshine would have been the highlight if the food wasn't so spectacular. Fresh guacamole made right at the table. So many great options. Looking forward to taking the family the next time we are in town.
The atmosphere is vibrant, fun, loud, family friendly. The chips and salsa to start is amazing. The chips are warm, the salsas are amazing, I could easily just eat their chips and salsas! Its so delicious! I had the beef and shrimp fajita with both corn and flour tortillas. Very fresh, very good flavor. Highly recommended!
What an unexpected pleasant surprise coming here! We were in the parking lot doing shopping when we smelt something good in the air lol We decided to come here & we’re so glad we did. Our server Santiago was amazing, nice man, knowledgeable & attentive. I saw him juggling multiple tables with ease & didnt hesitate to be a pleasant host. We ordered the Trio Fajitas & they were delicious, I wish I took better pictures lol We also had some yummy margaritas & enjoyed the decor & vibes of the place. Next time we’re in town, we will come back & hopefully he will be there to serve us.
had a very strong craving for fajitas and the google machine told me that lupe tortilla was the place to go. sure enough, it was very right! we had a great experience start to finish. staff was friendly, atmosphere was great, and the food was top notch. the combo fajitas were so nice, having those ribs was such a nice treat. i definitely want to come back and try some of the other add ons to the fajitas!
We were a party of 18 for my aunt's birthday and our experience here was really great! My brother-in-law was the only one who wasn't satisfied with his meal, he was expecting something else from what he had ordered, but our waiter's recovery from this isolated incident made up for it and made him forget about his initial disappointment. That's a big win in my book because he can be picky. I'll definitely be back and recommend Rey as a waiter for a great large group dining experience.
I'm never disappointed! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We started with the chips and queso—super fresh and flavorful, with just the right amount of kick. But the real star of the show was the fajitas. The beef fajitas are incredible. Very tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and everything comes out hot and fresh. The homemade tortillas are next-level good. Soft, warm, and made fresh to order. The portions are generous, so come hungry or be ready to take some home. Prices are fair for the quality and experience you're getting. All in all, Lupe Tortilla is a solid choice if you're craving Tex-Mex with bold flavors and great service. We’ll definitely be back!
First time in and our server Jesus was awesome!! He made our dining experience so great!! He was friendly, knowledgeable and kind. The spicy red enchiladas didn't disappoint!! The chicken and beef fajitas were great but the toppings were on the skimpy side. They need to be more generous with the toppings and they should come with sour cream as well. If you visit this location ask for Jesus' section he will take real good care of you!!
Stopped here for dinner and we were very glad we did! We grabbed a seat at the bar for dinner and received exceptional service from Sarah. She let the manager know it was our guest time dining and she surprised us with a welcome appetizer. The food was delicious and very welcoming experience. Thank you, we will be back!
Great tasting food, strong yet inexpensive margaritas, and enjoying dinner at sunset on the patio all leads to a great night. Every employee that came across me were friendly, can't wait to return. Try the crab stuffed avocado appetizer it's to die for. Also they have several vegetarian options if that's what you need.
Cute place with lots of decor. Salsa is spicy and may be roasted and smoked and comes with great chips and a bowl of spicy pinto beans. Because it was our first time, they brought a sampling of fajita street tacos. Very good. So we ordered the lunch chicken fajitas, the beef fajitas and tortillas soup and salad. First, the soup and salad were very tasty and large. Now, the chicken fajitas was wonderful, and the beef was tender and full of flavor. The only dislike for me was that there was a small amount of onions on the fajitas. I like vegetables with my meat. But not a deal breaker. Can't wait to eat there again.
Came to the restaurant for a work happy hour. They were able to seat our party of around 15 people outside. They had an big industrialized fan that kept all of us cool from the Texas heat. Our server Jess was incredible at keeping track of people’s food orders for such a big party. We ordered the beef fajita nachos, which I shared with someone else. Portions no matter if they are appetizers or entrees are pretty big in size. The enchiladas were pretty tasty but fills you up pretty fast. Good place to hold a happy hour.

Great atmosphere and variety of dishes. Service as expected. Had ask for straws and drink refills, but otherwise some of the best Mexican food I have had I awhile. Grade A.

We were here for breakfast gotta say fresh hand squeezed orange juice was liquid gold, kinda sad they give it to you in a small cup. ( picture 1) I also got the chilaquiles ( spicy) it was in a small-Ish dish and that kinda made it a little difficult to eat, the sauce on it made it a little overwhelming and I couldn’t really enjoy them. My husband got the breakfast tacos plate. Which for the price wasn’t bad, it was more tortilla than there was filling. It was pretty good though not bad. The service was great! Everyone was constantly aware of us and asking if we were ok. I appreciated that. All in all not a bad experience it was “pretty good”
Food was really good, I had the Barbacoa and added grilled onions!! The service was a little ...... There was one guy trying to handle the patio alone and seemed a bit forgetful. Bur overall there was a nice vibe with colored lights and music on the patio. Definitely recommend for the food.
Great TexMex restaurant in Austin! Weve been twice now each time were in town, and love the Carne Asada which has a delicious lime juice marinade and is very tender and a slight grill char overtone. They make their food in house and overall great stuff. Found the bean dip that comes with the chip basket a little bland however. Service was very good even when the restaurant was busy.
Standard Tex-Mex food. The service was good and the food was good, seemed a bit pricey. I got the classic Tex-Mex enchiladas and they had the flavor one would expect, I did add fried eggs and that elevated the dish. The rice was too al dente for me, and the refried beans didn't have enough seasoning (I'd say it was mainly lacking cumin so it tasted plain). I've heard the fajitas are what to get here so maybe I ordered the wrong thing. The chips were a thinner type, and not too oily. The salsa and charro beans had great flavor. Happy hour prices are great.
Best Mexican food place in Arboretum area, very busy but fast service. Food was authentic and the waiter was nice to provide spicy salsa and seasonings. Lunch portion fajitas are really well made and seasoned. Asked for grilled jalapeños and they are the best Tried their lunch special 🐠 tacos and they were the best (mahi-mahi); mexican rice and bean dip were good, huge portion and made to perfection; side order of bell peppers and jalapeño are really yummy, love this place
Lupe Tortilla was okay overall, but for the price, I expected much better. The food wasn’t bad, but it felt very overpriced for what you get. If the prices were more reasonable, I’d probably rate it higher.
Had a large party and service just as good as for small party. Loved their quail. Fajitas really good. Really like that at a mexican restaurant you could get vegetables outside of the fajita fixings.
Overall I’d give Lupe’s a strong 4.5! The beef fajita is to die for. Super tender, flavorful, just ughhh 🤤 It would be a perfect 5/5 but the rice, and beans is pretty mediocre. Also, depending on your server, you either get 💯 service or mediocre service. I’ve had servers forget details to the order, and I had servers take forever to bring something out, like straws. Definitely recommend, price is $$
This is essentially the first place where we have eaten at the restaurant since March of this year. We picked a place that had a large patio and we were not disappointed. The hostess brought us out to the patio that was covered and gave us our choice of tables. There was a heat index of about 107 at that point so we took the table nearest to the door right in front of a huge fan and under the ceiling fan. We were barely seated when Simon arrived on the scene. He had a smile on his face and was very pleasant. Delivering us ice waters immediately while introducing himself and taking our beverage orders-Frozen Margarita, no salt, and a Pepsi. We advised we were anticipating the arrival of 2 family members and would wait to order. He asked if we wanted the floor fan speed increased to max -that ensured our comfort throughout the meal. Chips , salsa and their delicious “dipping” beans were set before us. Our dining partners arrived and Simon returned-obtaining their drink orders and inquired as to our need for appetizers. Know if you’ve ever eaten there before, their entrées are quite large but they have several appetizers that are worth ordering especially if there’s a group to share. We ordered the table side Guacamole (and it’s a definite upgrade to the regular style.) Simon recommended fresh tortillas be served with it- yum!!! We ordered 1/2 flour-1/2 corn. The guacamole was created before us- Fresh avacados, lime juice squeezed over, chopped tomatoes, salt, pepper, fresh jalapeño. We had him give the cilantro to the one person at our table that enjoys it, she could add it to her own serving. It was even better than I remembered it! The fresh tortillas- muy deliciosa! All the better! Our meals arrived timely -so we’d had time to converse and enjoy our drinks and apps! The individual Beef& Shrimp Fajitas with fresh warm tortillas, and a platter of grilled onion, pepper, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce and sour cream. Brilliant! The chicken wet burrito arrived sauced and hot and my spinach and artichoke quesadilla -half corn/half flour....divine. Simon kept the beverages flowing-bringing a fresh soda just because the one sitting had watered down , the ice tea was refreshed many times over. This was a great experience all the way around. Simon made the difference-The customer service A+++.
Saturday late lunch/early dinner was packed but we were able to sit at the bar. It took almost 10 minutes before bartender was able to acknowledge us But overall friendly and THE BIGGEST FLOUR TORTILLAS EVER!!! IT'S A BLANKET 😂💖
I’ve eaten here and other locations many times. But a few weeks ago, I ate at this location and had the worst service. I’ve probably had in any restaurant in my entire life. The young man was training another server and just basically ignored us the entire dinner. We complained to the hostess because we couldn’t find our servers to pay. After about 15 minutes of waiting after we finished eating, we still didn’t have the bill and couldn’t pay to leave. She said well he’s training tonight and he’s a little bit chill when he’s training. We had to go to the manager in order to find our waiter in order to get our bill so we could pay and leave. I was very pissed. The food is always excellent and the atmosphere is great. If I go back there again and see him, I will ask for a different server. If I owned the restaurant and he worked for me. I would’ve fired him on the spot. There was no excuse for how we were treated, basically ignored the entire meal.
Love the beef fajitas here! And Black Barrel Margarita is STRONG and goood! Bar Service is spotty, more than it should be. It's been a minute since we sat at a table that it's difficult to compare. Atmosphere is comfortable and cozy.
Friday night, I was with a BIG group (16) of family member's, celebrating two retirements. Service was top tier. I mean wonderfully fabulous!! The food, my food (chicken fajitas nachos) could have been better. They were cold and soggy. I get it, they were wanting all the food to come out together but at least make the food that holds the least amount of heat/substance last. This is one of our family's favorite restaurants and id still come back. The food and service is enjoyable.
We stopped here for a quick bite to eat before heading to the airport. Our server Kathryn was very friendly and attentive. The food was good and plentiful. I actually ate from my Big Sucker Burrito 3 different times, and my friends took their quesadillas to go. The atmosphere was relaxed, the decor was busy, and the lighting was a little dark for my liking. However, overall, we were pleased with our visit and told who I'm guessing is the manager because he came over to ask how things were going. I'd definitely visit again.

waited 45 minutes for my breakfast order. Our order was dropped off at the table next to us first, then after it was remade I got the wrong plate. waited another 15 minutes to get scrambled eggs …
Overall the food was good, with a few exceptions. Everything is made fresh daily from the tortillas to dinners. Karla waited on us and was doing well. For some reason she just stopped coming by. We felt as if we were totally ignored or an after thought. Saving grace is the manager, Nico. What an outstanding man. He checked on us many times. I understand why such a young man is the manager of the restaurant. He is a true go-getter. The food was fair to good. It's a bit on the expensive side. I had the frozen house margarita, daughter had a frozen pina colada. I will attach photos. The place is crowd, kid, or child and handicap friendly. Several handicap parking, ramp, etc. They have a special vegan menu, available upon request. Enjoy your total homemade meal, but watch the prices. Overall an ok experiencing, considering a couple of employees, including the hostess. First thing, upon sitting down, my daughter requested the manager. We both told him about the hostess. My daughter hardly ever complains about anyone. We met Nico, told him about things: the hostess that apparently did not want to be at work. Her attitude was: How dare you come here and make me work. :::sigh:::: Honestly, really? I'm certain there are many other people in the company who would love to have her position. I would have sent her home for the night to evaluate whether or not to continue her employment there. I guarantee you that we were not the first patrons to complain about her sourful looks, bad attitude, and total disregard of the customer. Oh and how dare we ask not to be seated right by the door, freezing breeze as the door opens and closes. More so with my arthritis, I do not need to climb up on those really tall chairs. I believe that's what set her off. I limp when I walk most of the time. It's really apparent that I have spine issues. People just don't think sometimes. I may give them another chance, at another time, after I am moved here,if they pick up the check next time. I will re-evaluate their service and adjust my post if some changes have been made there. Oh and dont expect to hear, Thank you so much for coming in tonight. Have a good night, drive safe or Jack!.... upon exiting this establishment! I turned to my daughter and we discussed how we both worked at places which would fire employees for not saying, "Goodnight, and please come back again."...or acknowledging them upon exit. We have been told goodnight by multiple employees in the past, many of whom we had zero interaction with prior. That was certainly not the case with this place. That is called manners and good customer service. This all really ruined the dining experience and left us feeling really cold. What has happened to the good ole days? We ordered...oh see pics... people, 2 drinks, 1 each, appetizer, 2 sides and 2 dinners...check was around $80 or so, add in a tip...hmm ....15.00 for an enchillada, tamale which wasn't that great, and the taco was excellent ...would I pay that again for the overall experience?I doubt it. I hope they read and correct many things. My Daughters fella said he and the crowd use to go there often years ago. Things started going downhill so he couldn't give us a current opinion on the place. I kind of understand why now. Why not have strolling mariachis playing beautiful Mexican Love songs? I think they are lacking in many areas. Cathy
I used to visit Lupe Tortilla in its original location in Houston. It’s sad when these really great restaurants expand and lose focus on customer service. We were seated promptly and ordered quickly. But that’s when the wait started. We waited forever for the drinks (even water took a long time). My Bloody Maria (made with tequila instead of vodka) came with absolutely no garnishes!! I could not believe it. I had to walk to the bar and ask for garnishes and the bartenders didn’t even bother to say sorry. My friend’s coffee drink came with no garnishes or milk or whipped cream. The highlight of the meal was the FOOD. Wow, they make the best fajitas. This has been a tried and constant truth for the decades that I’ve eaten at Lupe’s. I highly recommend the grilled quail! The tres leches dessert was also amazing. The kitchen is doing it right.
Management, management I waited 20+ minutes after the hostess got my water and chips. Once things were realized everything went in motion, but management went back to their table. I appreciated the kitchen came out to check on food. The server thrown in to take my order nailed it.
This was quite the journey. We were meeting a friend for dinner. We have been to this location before and liked it, so we met her here. To start, they walked us to the back room. I figured no biggy. I was wrong. It became deafening loud there and I literally left with a headache. Service was very slow- especially when we got seated. I think it was almost 20 minutes before we received a margarita we ordered. I was preparing for an unpleasant review. Then the food came. I got the sampler and it was honestly delicious. My wife thought her taco was very meh, so I felt bad that I enjoyed mine so much. But, I have to give credit where due. I savored my meal. It was visually appealing as well as shown in the attached pic. The verdict: we would absolutely not accept a seat in the back room again. I doubt we will ever return since my wife's food was not as redeeming as mine. Sharing all factors and I am sure many have diverse perspectives. I am kinda bummed because a good meal was lessened because of all the less redeeming aspects of the experience.
This was our second visit to the Westlake location recently and I am compelled to write about our experiences. During our first visit the food was good but the service was very rushed. It was a Saturday night and we(6) were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our waiter would "drop and run". We were short one set of silverware at the table, and it was halfway through the meal before we could get his attention. It wasn't because he didn't come to the table, he did, but would run before we could make requests. Very disappointing. Tonight we tried again and the service was good but sadly the food wasn't great. It was an early dinner and the restaurant was mostly empty. Our main complaint was the quality of the food. We both ordered enchiladas and we had the same thoughts...very little cheese on top and virtually no sauce. They were dry. The rice on the plate was under cooked (actually a bit crunchy) and under seasoned. We were approached during he meal and asked if we were enjoying our meal. I don't know if she saw us picking at it or this is a routine question, but we shared our disappointment and she responded with, "Well, they do measure out the amount of cheese, but thanks for your feedback" We decided tonight, there are plenty of other great places to get Mexican food and while this is convenient to our home, we likely won't give it a third chance.
Ate here for a work event. Although they catered to my vegetarian needs i have to say when I get veggie fajitas I don't want all green bell peppers. IT'S GREAT TO HAVE MORE THEN 2 MUSHROOMS AND A TABLE SPOON OF ONIONS smh..... the rest was all green bell peppers. It was my first and last time going here.
My buddy and I were two of three people at the bar on a Friday around noon. There were three or four bartenders/bar backs and yet I felt like I practically had to fight to get another drink after my first period same thing with getting a menu to order some appetizers. Pretty disappointed overall with the bar service. That said, the beers are cold, the margaritas are tasty, and the queso compuesto is amazing.
In Austin for the week for work. The hotel recommended Lupe Tortilla for dinner. So I decided to go. I did not regret the decision. Some of the best fajitas I've ever had, and it was so much food I could only eat half the order. The tortillas are made in house and were great. Grilled and fresh veggies combined with the steak so well. Every bite was impossible to resist. Pro Top: for those who've never been, tell your waiter. They like to give out samples to first time visitors.
We were a party of 13 and taking my son to dinner for his birthday. We knew on a Friday night it would be busy so I called in the afternoon & was told I could put us on the waitlist but we could only do a table of 6 so to do 2 of them online but under the same name & when we get there let them know. So ok I was good with that. Then my husband called around 5:30 to double check and was told to do the samething but add a note that we are a party of 13. We sign in and get there & waited 20 minutes when we were told they could not sit us all together and couldn’t even guarantee they would put us close together. The hostess said she could put us all outside but we didn’t want outside because it was chilly & windy she then seemed dismissive about it & said she could not sit us together but if we sat outside they would have the heaters around us which didn’t do any good because it was windy. We didn’t leave because are party was already there & to find another place on a Friday night we would be waiting again. So we took the outside and soon realized the heaters weren’t working because it was too windy and even a few chairs blew down. We saw a empty room right next to us so we asked if there was anyway we could sit in there but were told that it’s a party room & to get it would be $1500. Are you kidding me!! It wasn’t even being used and we were a big party with 2 elderly women. So I couldn’t tell you if the food was great because it was too cold which made our food kinda cold. Our waiter Marc was great and that was the only thing. My brother in law did speak to another staff member & was told they do not do parties of more then 10. Wish someone would’ve told me or my husband that when we called. Such a bummer because we wanted to try this place out but after this evening we will never go back. UPDATE- Sent all my information requested and they were going to let the manager know never heard anything else. What a waste of my time.
We frequent the LT restaurant in San Antonio routinely and always have wonderful service. The bartender working at this location while we were here between the 2-3 pm on Nov 23 needs additional training. We don’t expect a lot, but some mild personality and attentiveness by her would be appreciated.
Not a bad restaurant except the wait times are CRAY CRAY because the bar staff don't check people out that fast so it takes 25 min to even get your bill

We mistakenly decided to give this place a second try despite not liking the food at this location a couple years ago. Even though the place was half empty when we got there, (a Sunday at 11:45am) it still took forever for us to even be acknowledged by staff when we walked in. The hostess was nowhere to be found. I made eye contact with three different employees and not one of them said anything to us or the other two parties that had also arrived while we were waiting to request a table. We don’t need super fast/friendly service, and I get that not everyone may be trained to step in as a host, but a quick “someone will be right with you” would’ve at least helped. When the hostess finally arrived, she never apologized for the wait, just asked “how many” and took us to the table. When my mom requested a booth, she said it wouldn’t be possible unless we waited 5 more minutes. Like I said, the restaurant was half empty when we arrived and nobody was in line in front of us. What difference would it have made to sit us at a booth and have us wait the 5 minutes there? That was the last straw for us and we ended up leaving.
Sept 2022 Update: Precipitous decline from the top tier to the worst, our experience was horrific. Upon arrival we were handed two menus each with different prices! When we pointed this out to the waitress she said their prices had increased and we'd have to pay the higher prices. My wife ordered the shrimp enchilada dinner and took one bite before she turned to me in disgust and demanded that I taste this, I did. The shrimp were rotten, they tasted like they were sitting in a tide pool in full sun for at least two days. My combo platter called the Patron featured an inedible shredded beef enchilada and other assorted mediocre bland items. The manager came to the table to visit and we complained about the shrimp and we were treated abruptly. He took the plate away and 2 minutes later returned and said the shrimp was not rotten and that we would not get sick. He offered to remove the cost of the plate from our bill and we could pick another meal to pay for. We were hesitant to order anything more, but being courageous, she ordered the beef enchiladas. Yes, they too were bland and made quickly without care for appearance or taste. The waitress never offered to refill our drinks, never offered to refill the chips, never offered to refill the salsa. Incredible. I can't believe I gave this place a five star review three years ago. I could never recommend this restaurant to anyone who expected good food, pleasant ambience or respectful staff; what we got was exactly the opposite. We want a refund, obviously. We're not only disappointed we are furious. We want the chain owner to contact us. When asked to get to-go drinks, we were summarily handed empty plastic cups and lids then the waitress walked away. Normally a restaurant gives you new drinks to go, in case you didn't know this, as standard procedure. Oh, how this restaurant has declined! Avoid this eatery like the plague; I hope we don't get sick! 3 years ago: Excellent example of northern Mexico cuisine. The spices chosen by the chef perfectly reflect the Monterrey, Saltillo corridor of campasino fare. Stephen, our amazing guide and waiter, was irreplaceable. He is personable, warm and fun to lead us to two of Austin's Best dishes: the signature chipotle pork ribs and the citrusy beef fajitas served with guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream and deliciously GIANT tender flour tortillas. We loved him, the food and the warmth of our satiated appetites. Bravo! Mexican done right! ES PRETTY GOOD indeed...
$6.95 for this taco! What a joke! My wife and I had a good laugh at the way it looked in my hand. Here’s a picture or our measly nearly meatless taco. Would you categorize this as a taco? Maybe I’m wrong? When I complained the manager did nothing and even made me pay for the first one I ate. Told her to just take it back and take it off our bill. Won’t be getting fajita tacos here again. Go somewhere else if you want more meat in your taco not just a meat flavored tortilla.
We had the worst restaurant/takeout experience of my 47 years tonight. We ordered take out because we didn’t want to cook and had my young twins and 3 year nephew to feed. My husband waited 15-20 minutes to even get someone to respond to him for a take out order and pack it, when it should have been bagged and ready. He asked them to please check the order because we’d gotten home one time and they’d forgotten margaritas and another time no tortillas. How do you eat fajitas without tortillas? He got home and there was no cheese or refried beans for fajitas. All of the kids are too young for spicy charro beans. I had to open a can of beans and we shredded our own cheese. I called and asked to speak with a manager. He apologized and said he’d give us a $50 voucher to come back in. He said he’d placed items on counter himself. I said I could send him a photo…Two charros beans no cheese. He was very cordial and in my opinion went above and beyond. Fifteen minutes later another manager called and left message and we spoke on the phone saying she’d looked at security cameras and all the items of our order had been in our bag. To say I was upset is the politest way I can describe the next few moments of conversation. She said the voucher wouldn’t appear in my inbox. She claimed we had lost the beans and cheese in the parking lot, and alluded to us lying about missing items. I asked for her or other manager’s email so I could send a photo of the tillamook snack cheese we had to shred and canned beans on the table. She said she wouldn’t give out that information. Her only advice was to contact Lupe’s corporate through their website. She had no phone number or email for them. She mentioned I never ordered refried beans. I said you have to check the no box to not receive items. I never checked no on any items but wrote charro beans and sour cream in comment section. Their site has changed so I just wanted to ensure those two items but never declined cheese or refried beans like she’d alluded to. We have been going to Lupe's tortilla on mopac for many years. It was only place we went during Covid, and have had many extended family gatherings. We will never go again. We’ve worked in the service industry and understand how hard it can be. We know mistakes happen but we’ve rarely have had a takeout order from lupes without something not missing in the order. How you handle people means everything. This time we were very mishandle by a manager. Two leaders weren’t on the same page, and acted like we were lying about an order. Why the manager would think we’d call to complain about beans and cheese missing unless that was the reality is ridiculous. Eating fajitas with no cheese that you didn’t shred yourself and with canned beans that you had to open after paying over $100 with a tip included since it was paid for online is insane. Lupes Tortilla we loved your fajitas, but we won’t be back.
This used to be our fav. But they have certainly dropped off several notches. Last two visits the wait was horrible after being seated. 35 mins or more. They are not even apologetic. In the past they at least offered some street tacos or free ice cream if things got delayed. Not anymore I ordered their chicken entree which clearly states artichoke as a topping. After waiting 35 mins, there was no artichoke. The server was simply ready to take it back. The manager stepped in to add more insult by stating the dish is light on artichokes which are blended in!! Lies. I asked to sub rice and they offered grill veggies. What I got was RAW beans just literally only thawed. Even the other dishes were meh. No flavor in fish tacos. And so on. What a waste of money which was meant to be a celebration
Not really here to discuss the food, but moreso the customer service. The manager on shift tonight (11/12/25) was EXTREMELY rude. I’ll just put it this way: if you cannot cast your personal beliefs, opinions, or feelings aside in order to do your job, you probably shouldn’t be working in the service industry, let alone be a manager of people! Do better!
Don’t come here if you want to be treated poorly and overcharged. Ordered a margarita and they charged me for a large and refused to adjust the price. The “manager” Savanah was no help and was very condescending and rude. It’s unfortunate because the food is decent but we won’t be returning
Overcooked Beef Fajitas. All the local guide sites say you have the most tender beef fajitas. Not my first coming there. The fresh corn tortillas are thick. I thought I was giving flour at first. And they stuck together. At least the charro beans with the chips were really good not like the beans that came with the meal. The servers were attentive which I appreciate. The food is why we come to eat not the service. If the food is lackluster, the best service ever means nothing. Plus you charge $34 for half pound of meat. Price goes up from there. 1.5 lbs is a crazy price. Over $80. The restaurant was big and people waiting for a table wasn't long
