Just a great experience. Great service, strong drinks, awesome food. Live music Friday at 830 in bar area. Had the arranchera last week. It was amazing. My wife and friend ordered the filet. While they were both happy, they liked my meal better. And it was nearly half their meals price.

I drive by this restaurant at least once a week and have been wanting to try it for a while now. Decided to go to their Mother’s Day brunch buffet to get a little taste of everything and I was not disappointed! The buffet had SO many things to choose from but we loved the carne asada steak with chimichurri the most! Everything was very flavorful and the buffet was always stocked when we went up. We tried almost everything they offered and loved it all, except for the dessert options - the churros were the best but we weren’t a fan of the cheesecake bites at all. Can’t wait to try their dinner options! 9/10 brunch buffet!

The food was great, as well as our server was great. They also allowed us to have a very very small baby shower at our table on the patio. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

This place is a whole vibe!!! The outside patio is very cute, perfect for a date night or girls day drinking. Whew but I loved it. My husband and daughter had a great time. We started with some margaritas and the special of the day ceviche it was delicious. My husband had Ropa vieja and I had the Cochinita Pibil. My daughter had the cheeseburger sliders. We also had a side of rice and beans, Elote and dessert. We tried the cookie skillet with ice cream, churros and tres leche. The service was great thanks to Jayden (not sure how to spell his name) and the food was phenomenal. We will definitely will return!!!

Always a great time. Staff is incredibly polite and friendly. The food is always topnotch and the wait staff have always gone above and beyond to provide amazing service. The alcohol selection is nice. The space is huge and still very cozy. Very conveniently located with parking and CTA options nearby.

Stumbled across this place on a whim and sooo happy we did! From the second we walked in the service was top tier in the bar area. When the chips and salsa are THAT good then you just know the food is gonna be great. Ask for the habanero salsa if you dare🔥 The menu offered an amazing variety of vegetarian options, different meats, and seafood- each dish with its unique flavor profiles and sauce. Don’t skip the tres leches for dessert!! Easily one of the best ones I’ve had.

I am 38 weeks pregnant and one of my best friends and I wanted to go somewhere close to the area that had outdoor dining. Maya Del Sol was the only local restaurant that had outdoor patio and took reservations. We couldn't make reservations through open table, so we called instead. This was the first outdoor dining experience one of my best friends had since the pandemic and she felt very comfortable. It is located in a downtown/busy area (to me). They do have street parking available with meters or the restaurant offers valet at a charge. The decor and ambiance from inside to outside is very modern and cozy. As you can tell from my pictures, I loved the light fixtures. This is a great place for a date night or go get together with some friends. On the outdoor patio, they had the nice string lights and they had fans to keep it cool. Leo was our waiter. He was very friendly and attentive. He explained to us the menu and that it was Latin American infused. Of course he saw that I was pregnant and he let me know what virgin drinks/mock-tails we're available. I did try the virgin margarita because he mentioned margaritas is what they are known for of course I miss the alcohol but it really was delicious! They provide you with complementary chips and salsa which the salsa was very good. My best friend is a vegetarian so we ordered their Mexican eggrolls, vegetarian enchiladas, and the plantains with mole. Each dish was very good and flavorful. Also beautiful presentation. Leo was very kind to spilt the enchilada order for my friend and I without us even asking! I do wish there was more of the ingredients inside of the vegetarian enchiladas. If it was meat I feel it would have been loaded. Highly recommend!

I forgot how good this place was! My new go to for Mexican Food! I’m always asking for recommendations for Latin food that has a burst of flavor and let me tell you this is the spot ! We ordered queso fundido came with Rajas , pico de Gallo shrimp I think it had a bit of chorizo too and cheese . My rating: 8/10 Enchiladas de mole ! Super yummy this plate I did find a bit on the pricey side $19 and it was only 4 enchiladas no sides 👎🏼 My rating: 9/10 Would have been a 10/10 if it wasn’t for the price and not having a side. Lastly the carne asada full of flavor tender and came with a corn tamal. The tamal was new to me never had that style of tamal and I’m 100% Mexican. This whole plate was just delicious 🤤 My rating: 10/10 Lastly Our Service here was just fantastic our table was well taken care of and our waiter just made sure to check on our table constantly which I absolutely love one of the best service i have had in a very long time. So shout out to Philip keep up the great work absolutely loved your attention, communication and for being very friendly . Service: 10/10 that’s all thanks to Philip Atmosphere: 10/10 checkout there patio it’s just Gorgeous!

Food and service both were excellent. Staff very polite and attentive. Restaurant very warm and comfortable. Party room was nice.

The food and ambiance = 10 out of 10. I've never had a bad dish at this place and the cocktails are amazing. The spicy guava margarita with tajin rim is my fave! The Chipotle grilled shrimp with black rice isn't pictured here but, it's a must try and I literally have dreams about that halibut and sopes de tinga 😋😋😋 One of my favorite spots in Oak Park.

First time at Maya del Sol Got together with Friends Service was excellent by Phillip Food was different, but in a good way, we enjoyed the Carne Asada, Cochinita Pibil, Sopes de Tinga, Queso fundido & Churros for dessert. We also tried Coyopa Margaritas and the Mangaso Everything was delicious!!!

Just wanted to share the experience I had in calling your restaurant. I was taken care of by Stephanie and she was so unbelievably helpful and so sweet! I don’t live in the area, but I might just have to pay your restaurant a visit the next time I’m nearby!

Everything was really good. The menu was limited for New Years eve , but will definitely go back on a regular night to try the other things that looked good.

We’ve been going here for girls’ night for years now and always have a blast. The spicy mezcal margarita is phenomenal and I usually order the carne asada or the grilled shrimp with black rice - the shrimp are huge! Great atmosphere to celebrate a special occasion or a fun night out. Service is excellent.

Great restaurant in the suburbs. The food was flavorful and offered unique flavor combos that worked well. It’s also a great place to have a solid dinner or drink at the bar but also offers great group dining space that doesn’t feel like a bar. Had great mocktails.

Great space. We had our rehearsal party in the back. It was just right. Maximum service! Great food, but more vegetarian options are needed. I enjoyed the family style service. Perfect staff.

Best salsa I have ever had! My wife even loved it , so it wasn't too spicy. Our waiter was as fantastic as were the margaritas! Beautiful outside area. Go there, you will not be disappointed.

We dined in the patio last night. Tuesday nights were buzzing out there. It felt like we were on vacation. Huge thank you to our incredible server, 'Meyah'? I think? Sorry! Food was exceptional. A truly wonderful evening.

Meyah is an excellent server! She made our dining experience a great one. The chips and salsa are delicious. I ordered the carne asada which is good. My spouse enjoyed his beef barbacoa tacos. The churros are a sweet dessert. The patio is spacious and lovely at night. Can’t speak on the parking cuz we walked. The ambiance was chill except for a couple rambunctious kids but oh well. I would recommend trying this spot if you’re in Oak Park and craving Latin American cuisine. Sorry there are no photos to add to this review.

My daughter’s private bridal shower was recently held on the patio at Maya del Sol. The covered patio is cheerfully decorated and abloom with flowers, with a perfect layout for a group of 21. The food was, simply put, a smash hit! Every single dish was delicious, and it arrived at the tables hot and beautifully presented. The wait staff was very attentive to the group, and paced the arrival of the courses just right. The boxed leftovers, thoughtfully labeled, disappeared in an instant. A measure of the success of a party is how quickly people leave. The surroundings on the beautiful patio, the luscious meal and smooth presentation allowed the hosts to concentrate on ensuring the guests had a fun time and the bridal couple felt special. When it was time to go, it took a bit of finesse to move the lingering guests toward the door! I’m quite sure all of them, if ever back in Oak Park, will make Maya del Sol their first choice restaurant. I know I will.

My wife and I drive 45 minutes to get to Maya Del Sol. We have always had great dinners here. Their specials are always uniquely prepared and never disappoints. My wife loves the prickly pear margarita shaken. We just had the prix fit dinner for New Years Eve. The Filet was perfect in a reduction that was awesome. Great twist on the one appetizer of crab bisque soup with a touch of Serrano pepper on the backside of each spoonful tastefully done so as not to over power the true bisque flavor. Stuffed churros for desert with chocolate and fudge and a small bowl of hot caramel to dip it in. It was marvelous. Owner stopped to talk to us. Very gracious host. Awesome evening. Highly recommended. Bon appetite!

Food was overall good, I think the mole sauce was a bit too sweet but still nice. Nachos were great.

Trendy location located in Oak Park which offers food inspired in a few latin American countries and not primarily focused on Mexican cuisine. We ordered everything to share for a party of 3. We started with the order of nachos which were pretty tasty I must admit, no beans for us, but I'd say with the small order you'll be good for up to 4 people to share it. The meat on them was packed with flavor and a decent serving of it. Followed thru with the market ceviche (varies depending on what market has to offer), I'd say this was the least impressive and I'd go as far as to not recommend it, maybe try something else in the appetizer section. The main courses were the barbacoa tacos, I must admit it was the start of the show. Delicious tortillas and flavor packed meat with some delicious sauces. Very good serving as well so if you're sharing you'll be good with a single taco even. We followed up with the cochinita pibil which was also good, came with tortillas and they were decent but just another cochinita, I would recommend ordering another round of tacos instead of this. Altogether it was a good experience, the service is outstanding and the outdoor seating area is really nice. The price point seemed a little steep but we also probably ordered a little too much. The people I went with also ordered cocktails which seemed pretty good as well. I recommend it. The birthday tres leches was a nice touch too.

This was my 3rd time coming to the restaurant. I was indifferent of this place because the first time I went with my family a couple years ago, before 2020. None of us (5) liked our plates. We were so disappointed because this restaurant was raved about. I went back with a friend 2 years ago and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered shrimp entree which I enjoyed especially the sides it came with like the black rice. I recently went (this weekend) and we enjoyed the plates. Seems like they have stepped up their quality of cooking since the first time I went. We received chips and salsa. The salsa was good but the chips were a bit stale. As our main dishes we ordered the carne asada and chicken enchiladas. The carne asada was our favorite of the two. It did have some fat in it which made it hard to chew but overall was good. The churros with a scoop of ice cream were delicious and made the perfect desert. We each had two rounds of the Maya old fashioned the first round was good. The second had a bit too much syrup which was apparent in the color of the drink. Overall I would recommend this place. The main dishes I would recommend is the fire roasted shrimp and carne asada. The servers were so nice and attentive. They also have a cute patio to sit outside.

Want to satisfy a sweet-tooth? Head to drinks and dessert at Maya Del Sol. Stopped by to celebrate a birthday and were not disappointed with the variety of hand made desserts. The chocolate cake is divine along with the Mexican flan were our hands down favorites. They both paired well with their Maya classic old fashioned and Capirinha cocktails. Would have scored a higher rating if an additional server was on the floor during peak times. Our server was good, but only two waiters were on floor to take orders on a busy night. Nevertheless, would recommend a night to celebrate at Maya Del Sol.

Overall this place was really good. Everything we had was delicious, but a fairly small menu (we checked it out before we went to make sure we had something that interested us). We had to sit inside due to the weather, but friends in the area said the outdoor patio is really nice. Service was really good and prompt, and food came out really quickly. Would recommend, and gave it a 4-star rating mainly due to the price of items, but worth it.

Food was great! I'm always worried about these fancy latin american places but the taste was very authentic. Chicken enchiladas were very good and the mangonazo drink I got for my partner was also really tasty. The outdoor seating is nice and refreshing. Prices are a bit high especially when you are only getting 3 small tortillas with your order, but would definitely come back

Quality food. They accomodate for allergies, too, which is really nice and considerate of them. Their salsa dip for their chips are bomb

Heard about lot of reputations about this restaurant in Oak Park. Ambience is nice. Decor and food presentations are excellent here. Summer time can be fun with outdoor seating. But food tastes were average. Disappointing was their meat being undercooked as both half roasted chicken and steak were hard to chew and cut with sharp knife.

Really good mix of latin American foods. The salmon ceviche is ridiculously good. The lime aide while good, isn't very sweet. Table service is excellent. The patio area is very nice and shaded for the most part. Inside is dark but that sets the mood and vibe of the place. Reservations are only taken for inside, but not the patio. The food is very good. Theres valet service available as parking can be limited. There is a childs menu available. We had the tamales, salmon ceviche, steak tacos, plantains, and ropa vieja.

We came here for dinner and the service was great! The aps were tasty but most of us felt left wanting more from our entrees. I'll share that the cochinita pibil is better the next day for leftovers. We recommend the bisque, scallop ceviche, all the cocktails, and their steak special with mushrooms and cheesy potato cake.

We love this place - returned after 10 years out of Oak Park and it’s just as good! I have to reduce stars because there’s no changing table! Come on! You’re in the middle of downtown Oak Park and don’t have a changing table? I had to change my baby on the ground, super disappointing. But AGAIN great food and service! :)

My partner and I recently dined here and overall had a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious, everything we ordered was flavorful and well prepared. Our server was also wonderful: attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The only downside was when we first arrived. There were several open tables available, but we were seated in the very back right outside the kitchen. It wasn’t the most comfortable spot, especially with so many other options open. I did ask if we could be moved, and thankfully they accommodated us without issue. Once we were relocated, everything flowed smoothly and the experience truly redeemed itself. Great food and great service overall.

Went on Friday to celebrate Mother’s Day couldn’t say we had the best experience since it’s a fusion of Latin food but the food was way off lacking flavor. Plates portions are so small the only thing we liked was that the waitress got our mom’s a tres leche cake. I will not come back because of the food. Our waitress was really nice and patient with our party of 10. Parking lot is hard to find, you’re better off paying the $5 for valet.

Dined here 8/24. Service was great. Enjoyed the half off happy hour drinks. Food presentation was good. Lights in the dining area remained off until light from the sunset finally graced us in the dining room, then the lights finally came on. My fish tacos were very bland and lacked any sort of character or flavor at all. I threw down the 3 decent sized tacos served to me, but left unsatisfied. Can't say I'd recommend you visit other than for the great service.

Friendly staff, great service. However, Cocktails were plain, no garnishment. To top it off, they lack flavor. On the other hand, food was satisfying. Good atmosphere.

Chips week old stale. Margarita was good. Service was ok and i appreciated they asked about allergies. Uploaded the updated menu with updated prices.

Food is kind of overpriced for being just okay. Some of our items came out lukewarm and not hot. Place has a good vibe and service was attentive though.
