Such an amazing spot. You feel like part of the family here. Such a friendly team Also, Their vegan options are delicious. We got the vegan fish with veggies, and jerk jackfruit. Yummy! The jackfruit was spicy, but delicious. The fish had a bbq flavor. The red beans and rice was exactly what I’ve been craving. We also got a side of greens which helped mellow out the spicyness. The sweet lady that took our order was SO incredible, she had the most amazing energy. The receipt said her name was Merissa. Also at one point the chef acknowledged us for the wait, which was so nice, and she really didn’t need to do that! Afterall Valentine’s Day is so busy, but I appreciate the thoughtfulness. Everything was absolutely amazing. I come from SJ for this perfect spot, and I plan to be back!
Amazing, legit Trini Roti💯 Only 1 table inside and a couple outside. The sorrel was really good too. Chef Ann and her mentee "Sauce" were really sweet. We'll be back.
I was so pleased to find Chef Ann and Coco Breeze during my sister’s most recent visit from Trinidad. Authentic environment is an understatement! The pictures on the wall were the same we grew up with and the whole vibe was very Trini. Chef Ann went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. My favorite of the authentic food was the pholourie and tamarind sauce. I will be back soon.
Small spot with 3 tables, 1 indoor and 2 outside. I got take away. Two veggie patties and a seamoss drink. The drink was blended fresh on the spot for me and was very tasty! The pattie were heated and placed in foil to keep warm. Later on when I ate the patties the crust was flaky, the seasonings were plentiful, and the veggies were a good mix. As I mentioned this isn't a sit down service type of spot as there is very limited seating available. However the inside is decorated to give you the feeling of Trinidad, where the owner is from. It's a beautiful way to share their culture. I could taste the intention & passion in the food and see it in the service. There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options I am looking forward to trying more in the future!
During one of our day trip from Manteca, we were craving some Caribbean cuisine, and we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. To our delight, we discovered that it serves authentic Trinidadian food, which was a delightful surprise, especially since my partner is from Trinidad. From the moment we walked in, my partner immediately felt a sense of nostalgia, chatting with the staff and other customers from Trinidad as if they were family. It was heartwarming to see the connection and hospitality that radiated from this family-run business. Now, let’s talk about the food! We indulged in a feast that included curry goat roti , salt fish fritters, wings, as well as the tender oxtail that melted in our mouths. Each dish was bursting with flavor, making it clear that Chef Ann takes pride in their craft. The ginger beer was incredibly refreshing, and I even tried mauby juice which is definitely an acquired taste but worth experiencing! If you're looking for authentic Trinidadian food that feels cozy and homey, this is the spot for you. The drive was absolutely worth it, and we can’t wait to come back for more. Highly recommend !
I had the pleasure of dining at Cocobreeze and it was an incredible experience! The flavors of the Jerk Chicken and Jackfruit entrees were amazing – each dish was bursting with deliciousness. The Jamaican Patty was a delightful starter that left me wanting more. The service was equally remarkable – everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home. I couldn't resist taking a few Patties to go for my friends to enjoy. With both outstanding food and exceptional service, I'm eagerly anticipating my next visit to Coco Breeze. I will recommend this place and will come back to try more of the drinks!!
Ate in different occasions, most of the time to go. Attended during Valentine's & most recently, a special Caribbean Celebration where there was live music & lots of people. Flavor is consistently on point with trademark spice & quality. Decent portion, esp the pre-portioned blacks containers can be washed & reused. My personal fav is the Jerk Chicken & pigeon pea rice with the plantain. Slightly spicy with mild sweetness nicely blended is a very filling dish. Surprise standout is the marinated pineapple which is a nice touch to the taste buds. The Tropical Super food Smoothie is a naturally sweet, satisfying delicious concoction of healthy goodness. Cheezy Mac Casserole is yummy to my tummy! Not sure if it's served only once a week or a regular staple menu item, but you MUST try it! Friendly, warm staff & convenient corner location. Two thumbs up, I highly recommend this place for anyone searching for flavors that that are familiar but tantalizing to the senses.
Thrilled to be able to eat a delicious chicken curry roti and drink mauby again. So delicious! Really enjoyed the salad with pineapple vinaigrette, too.
Best Vegan Jamaican food. It was so delicious. Marissa I spoke with on the phone suggested the Vegan curry chicken. But that Vegan fish was the bomb. I went two days back to back. I met the chef Ms. Ann when I dined on the patio she's friendly & greets every customer

As a Jamaican, it’s next to impossible to find consistently good Caribbean food in The Bay. My partner and I were greeted with warmth by the owner Chef Ann (who I’ll affectionally call Aunty Ann from now). Entering her kitchen the closest thing to going to a real cook shop on the island. Blasting Soca and interacting with her patrons, Aunty Ann really knows how to make a home away from home. As a Soca lover, I couldn’t help myself moving around while browsing her menu. Catching the vybes, Aunty Ann quickly realised that I too was an islander. We got the curry goat and the vegan fish. At first, the relatively hefty price tag per entrée can be a turn off, but it’s 100% worth it as the serving sizes could be for 2 sittings for some folks. My box of curry was at least 2-3lb of food! The flavours were exceptional — about as authentic as it gets. Her vegan offerings were well thought out and exquisitely executed. Aunty Ann is from Trinidad & Tobago, so the slight variation from what I’m used to back in Jamaica is to be expected. Will be visiting again and again and again!
Delicious!!! I ordered plantains, the jamican meat pattie and the saltfish dumplings. All was delicious and full of flavor.
Drove from over an hour away in search of roti, because nobody on the Peninsula side of the Bay has any. When I arrived, they said they were closed for the day due to being fully booked for outside catering. Needless to say, I thought my day was ruined... BUT NOT ON THE LOVELY LADIES' OF COCOBREEZE'S WATCH!!!When they overheard the length of my pilgrimage, they looked into my weary eyes, saw the deep yearning for jerk chicken, and took pity on my empty stomach. They LOADED me up with food - jerk chicken, curry chicken, collards, rice, the WORKS! All for free!! You don't see kindness like that often. Cocobreeze, y'all were an inspiration not only to my taste buds but to my soul as well! I will be back for Roti another day. But more importantly, what happened today will forever be etched into my mind as a shining example of compassion, and I will refer to this memory as the benchmark for good customer service in my own business.
Only place in the Bay Area that does Trinidad doubles! I like to get a mix of sweet and spicy. The drinks and rolls are wonderful too ☺️ Wish they had a location near a Bart station
Chef Ann is a Master Chef! Authentic Caribbean cuisine and mouth watering food. A fantastic find in the East Bay for authentic Trini roti!!

Most complex rating ever. I'll be leaving 5 stars. Storefront was open but we went in during closing hours. My partner was completely ignored and wasn't given any attention until met with my abrasiveness. After exclaim how displeased I was, the staff member coming off of a rant with other customers; apologized and said she'll be right with us. I left and I have avoided the place ever since. I am in the wrong for not being aware of hours of operation.
Cocobreeze Caribbean Restaurant located at 2370 High Street, Oakland had a Yelp Elite Event last Friday and Saturday. Since I am a member of the Yelp Elite, I signed up to get their sample box of goodies and a beverage. I also ordered the braised oxtails meal that came along with red beans and rice, and a spring mix salad/pineapple dressing. The sample box consisted of one protein, three appetizers, two rice sides. My sample box was 2 spicy jerk chicken wings, 4 fritters and plantain, and red beans and rice. My sample box was free; a pert of being a Yelp Elite member. I believe through all the excitement the employees forgot the dipping sauce and Pelau peas and rice. Then the service was slow. It took me about 50 minutes to get my food to go. There is only a table and two chairs inside the restaurant and several tables and chairs for outdoor dining. Otherwise, food purchases are mainly to go. My overall rating is 3.5 stars round up to four stars. Street parking in the area can be problematic. You would be very lucky to find street parking on High Street between Congress and Fairfax Avenues.
My family is from Trinidad so as soon as I got wind of Coco Breeze, I had to come check it out. Supposedly they sell out a lot, but I was lucky enough to order plantains, chicken patties, roti w/curry chicken, pelau, and fish cakes. The fish cakes weren't my favorite and the roti, with curry chicken and potatoes was a little different from what I was expecting, because it wasn't wrapped like a burrito and the chicken still had the bone on it, but it was still good. Patties and pelau were also good. Will be back to try other things. Sorrel was bomb.

Great Caribbean food, very traditional, fresh and flavorful menu items. The staff is very friendly. The items do seem way higher priced than in other places, but this is the Bay Area and it’s to be expected. It’s definitely not fast food. But worth the wait!
Excellent cuisine, beautiful, clean, decorative atmosphere headed by a fine chef of Caribbean descent. They've got the flavor!!

I ordered food to go for my wife and I. Immediately walking in, I was greeted with a smile. Chef Anne and her staff are amazingly warm and welcoming. I am originally from Brooklyn, NY. with a West Indian bloodline. I love some tasty Carribbean food. My wife and I moved to Cali back in Feb. and have yet to have Carribbean food. So I chose this spot. I ordered the $60 package, which was 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts and 2 drinks. Oh and a Roti. I ordered this much so we coyote share and taste everything to see what we like. I ordered: Appetizers: Fish Fritters (Not really a fan) and Plantains (Wish they were fried a little more) Entrees: Oxtails (It was okay) and Curry Goat ( Lacked spice, but had flavor).. Rice and Peas (Bland) Chicken Roti (Needed more chicken) .. but the skin, potatoes, curry and beans def on point. Drinks: Ginger Beer (Definitely pure), Sorrel ( Delicious), Blueberry...Matcha..Lemonade (Delicious) and Calm-Aid (Tasty) Deserts: Mango Cobbler and Currant Roll (Not a fan) Received salad (Delicious) and Jerk Wings (Delicious). Overall...we will most likely not return😀

I was excited to see that there were more vegan options around nearby. However, I think operations need to be smoothed out because my order was supposed to be ready sooner than I got it. I overheard the kitchen staff saying something about skipping orders. I also think they need a better check-in procedure for customers. Because folks were just lining up and folks who have checked in on their order ware not asked to wait to the side so you’re just waiting for them to leave before you get to check in. No staff came out to ask who else was there to pick up or place an order. Nothing. Just waiting. I hope the food is worth it. I’ll update after I’ve tried it. For anyone ordering for delivery through any of the delivery services, it’s not your delivery person’s fault your order was late. A DoorDash driver waited 20 minutes for an order and was told only one item was ready and it would be another 15 minutes. It would probably accurately be 30 minutes on top of that 20. I really hope the food is worth the wait and order 1 hour in advance next time. So I tried the food. Order: Vegan Curry Chicken with Pelau Vegan Roti Wrap Vegan Jamaican Patty Spicy Doubles Curry was good. Pelau was different. I think the peas threw me off. The coconut was nice, but I’m not sure it complemented the peas. The roti was a huge dough and there was a lot of folded dough underneath. You’re better off ordering a side of protein rather than adding into the wrap. The patty was just one for $6, good flavor. Size of an open hand with fingers together. I’m not sure if I can validate their price point. The Doubles, the size of your palm. Good flavor. Tasty. Also $6 and hard to validate the price point. The plantains taste more like bananas than plantains. They were sweeter and softer than plantains. I don’t recommend the pineapple vinaigrette. It was lackluster. At this point I’m on the fence about ordering again. I wasn’t blown away.
I ordered the Whole Fried Fish & was given half a fish head & two small fish nuggets. I spoke with Chef Anne about it and that conversation alone made me decide I won’t be returning to this neighborhood spot. Instead of giving me a refund, they gave me a promo code to purchase the fish again & the promo code expires in like 6 weeks. I won’t use the promo code because there’s no way I’m eating here again. But, I’ll share the promo code here for anyone who needs a free meal. Hopefully you receive a whole fish instead of half of a fish head. Promo code: THANKYOUFAITH. I think it’s valid on DoorDash & the website

I loved the food here, so so much! So it fills me with incredible sadness to have to leave this review. This restaurant sells meals on the Too Good to Go app. Sometimes I call and ask if they have vegan meals left over, and they either tell me yes or no. Today they said yes, so I placed the order and went. When I walked up to the counter an older woman asked me what I ordered, and I told her, again reiterating that I needed it to be vegan. She said yes. I took the bag. I ran an errand and then came home to eat. The lights were dim, and I ate a few bites of beans and what I thought was seitan. That is until I bit into a piece of bone. I turned on my flashlight and realized it was chicken. Real upsetting, but mistakes do happen. Given that I loved this restaurant, I called to try to sort it out. The same woman answered. I tried to explain that it's very important to not mix up orders for vegans, and she hung up on me. I called back immediately and she claimed I hung up on her. I know that's not true because my phone was on speaker and my fingers were not near the buttons, but fine, I tried to move past it. I repeated that I received the wrong thing and it's very important for that not to happen. She immediately began to shout at me that if I had asked for vegan I would have gotten vegan. Yup, gaslighting - well, I don't abide that. Domestic violence survivor, been there before, not doing it again. I continue to tell the truth: I walked in and asked for a vegan meal, and she confirmed that she had given me one. She continued to shout that I was not telling the truth and that she was the one working so she knows. I asked to speak to a manager. She said she was the manager. I asked if there was another manager on staff I could speak to, she said no. I asked her if she was the owner, she said yes. I repeated that I loved the food and I didn't want to have to stop going. She continued to shout that I had not asked for vegan food. I told her she was not a good person and hung up. I've looked online and confirmed that this was the owner, Annabelle Goodridge. So yes, I'm going to say this now, with my name attached and with my whole chest: Annabelle Goodridge, you are not a good person. Not because you gave me the wrong dish, but because you shouted at me, tried to make me doubt my own sanity, and demonstrated that you don't care if you hurt your customers. I don't know your personal life, but I count myself blessed to not be in it. But it doesn't matter how good your food is, no one deserves to be treated the way you treated me. I genuinely hope that your carelessness and your pride doesn't get someone killed one day, because food allergies are a big deal and you obviously can't be trusted to respect them. Thank you for feeding me the times that you did, and goodbye. I know there's someone out there in this beautiful city who can genuinely honor Caribbean food with the empathy it requires, and I thank you for the opportunity to go find them.

This restaurant was such a. Disappointment. I had their vegan options and everything was nasty. I was so upset and spent almost $40 but couldn't enjoy anything.
