Came here on 4-11-20 during the shelter in place. So take away was the only option. Thanks for being open!🙏 Tried the seafood jigee, the LA kalbi and the vegetable pancake. All were excellent. I would definitely come back again. PS: I got a flyer that said they have Korean Fried Chicken. Definitely will come back for that 👍.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Just left Gogi Time here in Oakland — what an amazing experience! Tyler and Tanya were my servers, and they were absolutely incredible. 10/10 service all around! They were attentive, courteous, and consistently checked in to make sure we were happy with our order. The food came out quickly, everything was fresh and flavorful, and the overall vibe was great. Definitely recommend this spot — and if you go, ask for Tyler and Tanya! 🙌🏽🔥
So fun! I had a blast - the food was delicious (don’t skip the ribs or kimchi pancake), my server was a joy, and I can’t imagine a more fun place to eat. Can’t wait to go again and bring friends.
I went with my sister and her friend, and we had an amazing time! Our server was very kind and the food was delicious! The price was very fair as well, even with the tip already included. I understand why my friends recommended me this place!
🇰🇷 Gogi Time is a popular Korean BBQ spot in Oakland, near Berkeley, known for its all-you-can-eat menu. Diners can grill a variety of marinated meats and seafood at their table while also enjoying other Korean dishes like savory pancakes and stews. It's a casual and lively place, great for groups looking for a fun dining experience. ★★★★★
Wasn’t sure what to expect because hadn’t had Korean BBQ in this area, but it turned out a great experience. First thing I noticed is they’re very nice. Very welcoming. That sets the tone. Next thing I noticed is they have a fairly large rectangular grill which is better than the circles I usually see. And they are fast about changing the grill expeditiously as it gets gunked up with the sauces. It’s spacious and yet urban nice inside. Perhaps a little dark but different strokes for different folks. We were in the side room which was darker. About $40 for the all you can eat, which I would recommend. You get two appetizers and four meats at a time. Also can get a couple sides and/or veggies. Good selection of meats. And the meats are GOOD portion size. And good thickness. Excellent soup and sides. Specifically the tofu soup. Softener kinds of rice. All goodness. You will leave here full of you get the all you can eat. Parking lot is a little odd. Slotted, angled spaces; so you need to back out to the street to exit. But at least they have a posting lot at all! Better than street parking.
Such a classic KBBQ place along Telegraph! I’ve been here quite a few times and it’s always got good service and good meats (and sundubu jjigae as a soup lover!!). It’s always a good time at this place and you can’t really go wrong with so many options and the fact that it’s all you can eat!
We had a blast and the food was so delicious it was hard not to let my eyes be bigger than my stomach! Grill was changed out consistently and there were plenty of options on the All You Can Eat Menu. The playlist of music being played was the perfect addition to the good time we were having. I would totally recommend this place for the food experience, it's not the fanciest or trendiest on the inside but we still had a blast and left more full than on Thanksgiving lol.
Just as every review says, this place is awesome! I love Korean BBQ and it’s all you can eat, Need I say more! You do cook the food yourself which is just a fun experience with everyone. The short ribs and the kimchi pancakes were probably my favorite thing we got. We also got the garlic pork belly, shrimp, brisket, sirloin.. pretty much everything on the menu. Everything was fantastic. The service was amazing as well. We never felt like we were missing food or was waiting for more. They also come around change out your burner top so it’s always clean. If you really need convincing and your not just sure. Just walk in front of the building and you’ll be convinced by the amazing aroma of Korean BBQ food!
All you can eat for $32. Short ribs are the best. Their banchan is also excellent. Staff are friendly and attentive, we never had to wait to order more meat. The only areas of improvement would be brighter lighting (when it gets dark), providing wet wipes or more napkins from the start (grilling is a messy process), and cleaner restrooms. But the service and the food was great, so I'm still giving a 5 star review.
This place is the quintessential Korean BBQ joint. Definitely not to be enjoyed alone. One other person will do but the more the merrier. The spicy pork is out of this world, the cucumber salad sauce amplifies everything. The staff is very friendly and attentive and you get what you pay for. Not cheap but absolutely an experience. Great place for a celebration or if you just like playing with your food 😄
Tanya was the best server ever!!! She was so sweet amd kind! Loved her service she made the night so much better!!! Will def have to come back and visit her

my favorite restaurant in oakland good service wonderful food and love the vibe wit the TV's & music
Delicious and nice for its price. It's better than most of other Korean bbqs in the Bay Area. So, recommend!

I love this korean barbecue place. Really good service not really long wait times it's also good to try to call ahead to get on the waitlist. Very chill friendly vibes.
Gogi time is probably the best KBBQ in the Bay Area. Reasonably price, the sides and appetizers are amazing. Parking could get a bit tough during prime hours, but definitely worth it!

Great Service. If you are into roasting your own meat, this is a good relaxed place. kid friendly.
service was great, servers were really sweet and nice. unfortunately the food was meh. meat was a bit bland and tough, radish banchan sliced quite thick, multigrain rice soggy. $43 plus tax and mandatory 18% tip for ayce dinner. i prefer ohgane for ayce (they also have cold beef noodle, which gogi time did not).
To cut to the chase; the KBBQ is alright, nothing special whatsoever. I'll keep this review nice and short. The restaurant itself is interesting. Does not have your typical KBBQ ambiance. Walked in…
When we sit down, I noticed the grill plate already had oil residue from no being wash carefully. No big deal, we used paper napkin to clean up the top. The waiter turned on the fire when the meats came. As the grill plate started to heat up, we started to putt meat on top of the grill plate. As we were putting meat in the “hot” grill plate, I noticed black/brown dirty soapy bubbles come out at the edge of the grill plate openings. See pictures of the grill plate and picture of the paper napkin after we tried to wipe off the black bubble. We told the waiter and he changed to another one. But the second one also spit out black soapy bubbles as it was heat up. Then the third one was also the same. I find out the reason is the grill plate is made of two stainless steel sheets one on top of another so it is almost impossible to wash away anything in between. So we end up using their outdoor solid grill plate and stove instead. I am sure all other tables in this restaurant would have similar problem. If you just put meat on top of the grill plate before it is heat up, you will not see the dirty black/brown soapy bubbles. This is not the first time we ran into dirty grill plate at Korean BBQ restaurants. So pay attention to the grill plate when you eat at any Korean BBQ place. I told the restaurant they shouldn’t use this kind of grill plate. I hope they listen. The restaurant give us 15% off for the incident without asking. However I still feel I should inform every one about this because I saw they continue to serve other tables using the same style grill plates even after I informed them about the problem. And the tables next to us just put meats on their grill plates and didn’t notice anything and just eat… I give two stars because the food is not bad and the manager let us used the outdoor solid plate with portable stove instead
I heard that Gogi Time was a good Korean BBQ place from a close friend, so I gave it a try and I was honestly so disappointed. The food and service were both lackluster and brought down the overall mood of my friend group. Here is why. Lets start with the food. The food came in small portions (for a group of 5) and the quality of the meat was poor with fatty cuts. We had to cut out all the fat because it became too much in the end. We also ordered steamed egg as an appetizer and was absolutely disgusted when we scooped down to discover that the egg was barely cooked. When we showed this to our server, he merely brushed it off and said he would just add a new order of steamed egg to our next order. Our steamed egg failed to come and we had to ask again for the egg to come in at all. When the steamed egg did come in and was fully cooked, we tried it only to discover that it was too salty to even eat. We also ordered the soju cocktails and we could tell instantly that the soju wasn't the best quality because it was so hard to force down. Good soju is supposed to be smooth going down and have a crisp aftertaste but the cocktails here had a strange metallic taste to them. I believe in rating a restaurant based on the sole quality and taste of the food and this place gets a major disapproval from me. Next is the service which doesn't affect my ratings but definitely impacts my experience and my mood towards this restaurant. Our server was barely present and rarely checked up on our table. We would eat and cook for 10 minutes and wait for 30 minutes just for the next set of meat to come in or to even get the server to take our order. When the server did get our order, he would constantly forget certain parts of our order and we would have to repeat it multiple times. Near the end we got fed up and just asked for the check because we were no longer in the mood to repeat ourselves or continue eating. Overall Gogi Time fails to live up to the expectations that I have for Korean BBQ. For 30+ dollars and an additional 18% gratuity charge for any groups 5 or more, I feel that there are better options and the prices of the drinks here are overpriced considering the size and the quality of the drinks you receive.
Probably one of the worst meals I've had in Oakland. Got it delivered and the beef bulgogi had no seasoning or sauce on it. Straight up boiled beef. Out of 3 of us no one would eat it so we pitched…

This was the worst korean bbq place I have been: the bulgogi and short rib was so thick and so hard. They kept forgetting our orders and didn't even give us Banchan. The waiters were not attentive …
This has to be the worst “Korean BBQ” spot I’ve ever been to. My buddies and I ordered all-you-can-eat, while a couple of them ordered individual dishes, and the experience was bad across the board. The food was completely unauthentic. The kimchi stew was filled with red food dye and tasted like ketchup rather than real kimchi jjigae. Even the white rice was wrong. It wasn’t the short-grain white rice traditional Korean restaurants use, but cheap-tasting jasmine rice. It was brought out in large bowls one at a time, forcing everyone to scoop their own rice, which made it get cold far quicker than it should have. The service was just as disappointing. We ordered a kimchi pancake, which normally takes at most 10 minutes to cook, yet it took almost 25 minutes to come out even after asking multiple times. Most of the workers were white guys who rarely stayed in the restaurant and kept disappearing into a back room, while all the people actually cooking the food were Hispanic. There was very little presence or communication on the floor. To top it all off, when we received our check, we were charged a non-negotiable, built-in 25% tip. Twenty-five percent!?!?! Each persons bill rung up for $65 when the all you can eat was priced at $42.99, which is still far more expensive than any restaurant in the area. This was never made clear upfront and felt completely unjustified given the quality of the food and service. There are plenty of other places in the Bay Area, especially in Oakland, that offer far better food, service, and transparency with pricing. This restaurant gives a completely wrong perception of what Korean food tastes like and does not reflect how our culture works at all. Don’t give this place any more business.
Worst korean BBQ ever!!! $111 for me and my partner, they charged us 18% service charge for serving two people? NOT WORTH IT!! we came here for some good food but got disappointed instead. Waitress here was awful!! Saw her making faces after she turned around after giving us our food, looks like she’s not in the right line of work. Food quality is poor, this is a good restaurant years ago, the food they serve didn’t match their price. Meat quality was terrible with absolutely no flavor. rice was overcooked mushy and sticky. radish wrapper had MOLD!! Grill had soap residue on it!! WE ARE DEFINITELY NOT GOING BACK AGAIN.
