Avis sur Pasta Pelican Oakland
It's a great place! I've been coming with my family for years. Food is always great and so is the staff. They always accommodate you and your requests. The view is amazing.
After our team's experience last year we had to come back; however, our itinerary did not permit us to go in. But I decided to reach out and see if they would be able to deliver to us and they did! I asked for every plate to be labeled, for each person to have a bottle of water and for every person to have utensils. They agreed with no hesitations but went above and beyond in their service and individually packed a bag with everyone's stuff and even added a little sweet treat to the mix. Every time our team comes to the bay we will be giving them business in one way or another. Cherry on top of that: food is DELICIOUS!
Quiet, classy atmosphere with excellent food. The service is thorough and very friendly. The prices are good, just be mindful of the usual expensive items. Excellent wine and dessert lists.
Had dinner yesterday solo while waiting for my wife who was attending a seminar on the second level. The restaurant was accommodating to let me dine for 2 hours. The staff were welcoming and attentive. I ordered a salmon salad which was exceptionally delicious and enjoyable.
This restaurant is the perfect getaway for a romantic date or a delightful dinner party! It sets a picturesque backdrop for any occasion, with stunning views of the bay and waterfront. The food is absolutely delectable, and the friendly staff goes above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable. You’ll find yourself beaming with joy as you savor every moment! I've been here a couple of times, and to my delight, the service and food have only improved.
Perfect date spot. Food was amazing . The service was extraordinary! They took great care of us even when we just arrived at the closing time. They did not rush us and made sure our experience was good! The drinks were great. The bruschetta and chicken pasta tasted excellent. Would definitely come back to try other items on their menu.
My wife and I celebrated our 27 year wedding anniversary at Pasta Pelican and everything was just perfect and I mean perfect. Why do I sound so surprise? The last time my wife and I went to Pasta Pelican was about 5 years ago. The service and food were not good at all. I don't know what changes they've made but man has it paid off. Our server could not have been more attentive and this was way before he knew we were there celebrating a special day. He was accommodating and just simply happy, which was contagious. There were no hiccups in service or the food. My filet mignon was cooked to perfection and when I tried my wife's salmon and it was just as good. The drinks were a celebration by themselves and the atmosphere was joyous. We also had a moving museum as we watched boat after boat go by our window. Some looked like they should be on display rather than the water. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the patrons - it all worked very well. We're definitely coming back.
First time experience for us. One of us is local, the other is visiting. Overall it was a good experience but in terms of standard hospitality experience.... the food was delicious, the views were beautiful, the wine list was large and the prices were reasonable. But some noticeable details: The entire restaurant was uncomfortably warm when outside was *not*, the acoustics need to be treated (aka really loud bouncing noise), there was conflicting music, and our server seemed fluent in a different language which was difficult to stay caught up with. We went on a Monday evening and there was no wait. I'd come back and/or recommend!
Food was good. Server didn't seem to want to do more than bring us the food. No how are you this ev5. What would you like to get started with. No mention of any specials. We both ordered pasta dishes but no offer if a salad or soup. Hostess assisted with cheese for the dishes, more drink refill and more bread. We feel she deserved the tip.
Really nice waterfront restaurant. Part of what you're paying for is the classic wood finishings, furniture, and waterfront view. Standouts we've tried: Starters: Calamari Fritti Meatballs Salads: Baby Beet Grilled Salmon Pastas: Seafood Ravioli (family favorite) Tortellini All' Ortolana Fettuccine Di Veneto The online menu doesn't have the kids menu options, but if you dine-in or call-in your order, you can get your choice of: Penne, fettuccini, or spaghetti with: Marinara, Alfredo, or garlic (I don't remember if it was garlic and oil or garlic cream) sauce
Pasta was a little too cooked past al dente for my taste, and the chicken pieces for all of our dishes were cut really large. Overall taste was good though and we enjoyed the location and overall family atmosphere. We felt good bringing our kids and our nieces/nephews out for a nice restaurant and didn't feel unwelcome in the slightest. If we're ever in the area again, we'll probably stop by.
I have been to pasta pelican slot of times and each time they do not disappoint. This was the first time I have had them for take out and lunch as well. I ordered the beef rib sandwhich with a salad and a slice of key lime pie. The sandwhich was awesome, the homemade ciabatta bread paired with onions and some very tender beef. I would definitely order this again. The key lime pie was the perfect tart with graham cracker crust. Comes with a side of whip cream and is good with or without it.
This was a place we decided to have dinner at after a long day. I should say, the location is amazing! You can see water and boats 🛥️ right from the windows. When we got there and waited for like 5 minutes, the receptionist would not show up and we had to call the restaurant and tell them we are there. After that we made our order and waited. All the way to the moment when we were about to finish our food, everything was great. The waiter started taking away dishes and cleaning the table right in from of our faces without even asking. There was an appetizer my husband wanted to eat later, but it was taken away. And generally you don’t feel comfortable when someone is wiping the table right in from of you, specifically when my husband was still eating. I think it would be nice to ask about it. In the end, I said that my olives 🫒 were too salty and they were taken away from the check. I appreciate that. Still, somehow I 🤔 that olives 🫒 should be there by default in pasta 🍝🤪Anyways, I think towels could be a little cleaner (too much dust and little pieces of villi on it) Rather than that, everything was fine.
They say in real estate location is king.. sometimes this is also key for a restaurant but not even location can help this place which is sad because it has waterfront views of the Oakland estuary but the food is no different if I cooked at home and paid 4x the price than cooking at home. Service is ok but nothing special. However the food is the biggest let down here. The Caesar salad had dressing that right out of a Kraft bottle and croutons where soggy as if refrigerated which lettuce. My seafood fettuccine had cold and under cooked pasta and sauce was right out of a Ragu jar but worse because it was dry and pasty. The calamari was good as it was warm, soft and well seasoned. The streamed vegetables (asparagus, peas and carrots) were also well cooked as they were not overly boiled. It was underwhelming experience and not one I would recommend or return to as there are better places nearby.
Very disappointed. It’s been 10 years since I’ve been here and the quality has really gone down. I hate writing bad reviews but usually service makes up for it. They never came back and offered a refill for my water, or cleared our plates. No bread and the napkins smelled so dirty and greasy. I couldn’t even wipe my mouth with it anymore. We had the seafood pasta and it was salty and seafood was over cooked, pasta itself was cooked pretty good. The branzino was actually good with the veggies, Caesar salad came and at first didn’t have anchovies (even though it said it on the menu), we had to ask for it. I remember coming here 10 years ago with my tech buddies and it was way better. Definitely not coming back
Horrible… I don’t normally complain about my food because it’s a privilege to be able to eat a meal. However, this place doesn’t deserve a high rating. The fish was not fresh! Smelled and tasted really gross. The potatoes had a weird flavor. Overall food rating was really bad. The steak was alright. Service was slow and non attentive. I won’t be coming back ever. Don’t recommend this place at all. Only worthwhile mention is the scenery. That was a 4.
Disappointed, menu looked great arrived ontime(one couple was a bit late in our group)took I've an hour and a half to recieve food. It was cold. Management offered a round of drinks for the delay on food which was nice. But when my food arrived at room temp I was extremely Disappointed hot in sure it would have been fantastic. Hardest part was watching nearly every other table torn over and we didn't have food. Server was not very available. I'm sure most people would say it's fantastic. We just had a bad experience.
Ordered some pasta and side salad through DoorDash for pick up. I get a notification that they canceled the order because they weren’t doing online orders at the moment. If they are not taking online orders, they should shut that system down like this other BETTER restaurant I tried to order from. The other restaurant did not let me order because they were busy. This place still took my money. I was very hungry so I called in my order. I went there and had to pay twice. That was an issue for me so I asked to speak with the manager. He couldn’t help me so I just paid again. I didn’t like the fact that the Asian girl took the bag off the counter like I was going to snatch it. She’s very lucky I keep my composure nowadays. The food was absolutely disgusting and just thrown together. Why is there a big ol basil leaf in the food that is not edible??? Not worth the drama, wait, price. It’s a bunch of kids at the front really clueless about how to work the system and treat customers.
