We discovered this place last year and absolutely love it! The seafood is always fresh, you can’t beat the wine and $1 oyster deal and the ambiance is beautiful. The best part about it is Niffy who manages all the tables and takes such good care of you. Such a gem!!

Cozy seafood restaurant just a couple blocks away from Jack London’s marina. They have a daily special where you can get $1 oysters if you buy a bottle of wine. They have a small but incredibly curated wine list - some good local wines and some good imports as well. Their oysters are incredibly fresh. I love the amount of sauces available as well. you also HAVE to try their clam chowder. It’s incredibly flavorful and hits the spot every time. Easy to get a table here (even on a weekend) but they also take reservations. They also have an outdoor patio and I’m assuming the patio would be dog friendly.

Ahhh my new favorite seafood spot! I love, my boyfriend and I came here for our 6th anniversary on Sunday. Customer service was phenomenal, we were assisted by Kim & I forgot the other gentleman’s name. He was tall with a flannel shift. The food was top tier!! High recommend for drinks and food.

Have been a fan of Danny’s oysters at his previous places. So glad this place is open. Wonderful menu and freshest oysters. I love the flavorful clam chowder- must try. Also great wine pairing with seafood. The shrimp cocktails has a wonderful lingering taste, a bit of kick at the end. Clam casino has bacon and cheese baked into the clam. Very nice texture. Great option added to the menu with other dishes. The Spanish anchovies weee so tender and tasty. Hope to come back soon to try other dishes. Friendly staff, easy parking on the street near Jack Landon Square.

Visited for the first time on a Thursday with the GF for dinner. Wow , what a gem! The location is across the street from Cost Plus World Market, and parking was relatively easy around 5:45 p.m. We did not have reservations, but they were able to seat us at the end of a table for six (shortly thereafter another party of two said the opposite end, yet there was plenty of space between us). We ordered several dishes to share... Stand outs were the radicchio Caesar (my favorite!!), oysters on half shell, steamed mussels and oooh their smoked trout dip!! The lobster roll had good proportion of lobster to theroll, however the flavor was just OK. Thirty minutes into our dining experience, the restaurant was completely full. Service was impeccable and on point, especially for a newly open restaurant. The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and overall, a well-oiled machine! The menu is limited and meant to be shared like tapas style, however from the dishes we had, it was really delicious, and I will definitely be back!

We landed at OAK during rush hour and decided to get a bite close by before driving north to Sonoma County. We picked the right spot! The food was great and we especially loved the three different oysters on offer that day and the amazing crudo (salmon, amberjack and tuna that day) using the tasty bread to mop up the oil. The chowder was the best I've tasted, with delicious stock as the base and not gritty or starchy. And the lobster roll 😋. Service was very casual but also friendly and efficient. If we lived in the area, this would be our regular hang.

Cozy corner in Oakland with spectacularly delicate tuna crudo, scrumptious radicchio Cesar salad, and clam chowder that added the perfect amount of depth and warmth to our rainy evening! Kind, articulate, and attentive staff - we're excited to come back and can't wait until they start the happy hour menu!

M
Marcela Martinez

Great place for oysters and caviar. They have great wine pairings as well. Went on a Friday evening, and surprisingly, it wasn't too busy. Got the crudo, half a dozen oysters, an ounce of caviar, which we discovered was a bit much, and also got a side of bread for the crudo. We finished with a hamburger, because we were both hungry, but honestly the burger was a bit much. It was very tasty though. Will definitely return.

Had an absolutely lovely experience here! Friendly staff and great food. We loved everything we ordered (pictured), but especially the clams casino and boquerones!

What an amazing experience. The freshest oysters and crudo. It’s in an elegant dinning room a block away from the Ferry and Port of Oakland, with easy/safe parking catty-corner from the front door.

The crudo, oysters and salmon dip were all amazing!!! Great serving, vibe and wine list too!!!

Super fresh seafood at a great price point and perfect for sharing. Open air ambience right off the water with industrial windows. Great bubbles selection to pair!

Such a wonderful spot! I have now come here 3 times and The Salty Pearl never disappoints. All the seafood is so fresh. The tuna crudo is amazing. Clam chowder and $1 oysters are awesome too. Some places skimp on quality for happy hour deals, but the oysters here are still perfect and well shucked. The other highlight is that every person who works here has been so kind and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back!

This place is a hidden gem! We found The Salty Pearl by accident while visiting Narrative, the huge vintage/antique store next door. It's excellent! They offer a great selection of East and West Coast oysters, plus a variety of seafood-focused small plates, entrees, and platters. Everything that we ordered was top-notch. They also offer oysters for only $1 each with the purchase of a bottle of wine. Easy parking in the nearby Washington Street garage. We look forward to going back soon!

Really lovely spot perfect for snacks or full dinner. We love the service - kind and helpful, but with a light touch (non invasive!) - and have had great experiences every time. The location is convenient for getting to a second spot or to the city. Highly recommend!!!

Wow what an amazing spot right by the beach listening to the waves. Perfect for watching the sun set. The Paella de Marisco (seafood Paella) was exceptional. With a chilled atmosphere and friendly service - I can see why this place is a favourite of the locals!

Dined here for the first & it didn’t disappoint, view are fantastic, good service, in fact went out there way to get sangria for me, live music ( saxophone player) and the food was excellent, this restaurant has a really good vibe about it, I would definitely recommend, you won’t be disappointed, looking forward to going again this week, well done to the new owners.

One of my favorite places in the Costa Tropical. I go here at least twice a month. All of the fish dishes are great, the salads are large and flavorful. Order a tinto de verano con limon, and enjoy the warm evening breeze the beautiful view on castell de ferro and be happy. If you come for lunch make sure to bring a towel and a bathingsuite the beach is quiet and the ocean water very clean perfect for an after lunch swim and siesta!

We went for a Thursday happy hour one dollar oysters up to one dozen with a bottle of wine. We sat outside. They had other very affordable appetizers. Delicious smoked trout dip and good shrimp cocktail. I had the fresh anchovies 😊instead of the chowder which I have heard is excellent.

Smoked Trout Dip. Full stop. A “W”. So good. Burger was solid, and creative, like a scaled up McDonald’s hamburger. Like a fancy take on that staple. Server and service was cute and charming. Enough to make me feel like coming back would be worth it. Super accommodating. Good energy. Oysters weren’t quite as fresh tasting as I would have hoped for. Otherwise would have been 5 stars on Food.

Great spot right on the sea. We got to sit in the court yard under the tree, which was so beautiful. Great selection of food and very clean facility.

What a lovely find! The best tuna my husband has ever had, and one of the richest risottos for me. A great place - book ahead for peak times - only open 10 - 6

Quiet walk from Camping de Baños, over the Rambler, through Caserones and along the coast road. About a mile to the tunnel and cafe Lancemar is just ahead. Lovely views and beach with cheerful service. Must try a meal some time.

New management?? Menu del dia €12 - excellent food, wine & tapas. Service a little slow, but all food freshly cooked. Will definitely be back (on adjacent campsite for next five months). Great views across the bay to Castel de Ferro.

Win some, lose some. I feel like the only thing good that we ate here were the oysters. Didn’t know enough about the area to choose somewhere different and the reviews sounded promising. All night I kept wishing I’d picked somewhere else to eat. The food wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t memorable.

Was looking forward to eating here, unfortunately the food wasn't great. All 4 meals were very salty, 2 meals were inedible and sent back, you could actually crunch the salt . The 2 other meals just about managed to eat, only because we scraped off the rock salt. Salads starter also had loads of salt added, chef far to heavy handed, it's not because we don't like salt but when your crunching it, the whole dish is ruined. Quite expensive too.Shame as the waiter who served us was lovely and very apologetic and gave good service. The location is incredible.

The waiters were absolutely unmotivated and sometimes even unfriendly. The food wasn't bad but the atmosphere here is colder than their gazpacho.

The servers don’t want to do their job. We waited for almost two hours for a table… while many became empty, they still wouldn’t let us sit there (to not move tables around). We were ignored by the servers. They don’t clean tables for new diners… even inside, it is a mess and no one cleans.

Food very overpriced and average. The service also not great. The worst part was threatening us with the police as our dog wasn’t muzzled even that he was sleeping under chair unbothered, on short lead and 💯 under control. Don’t recommend it. The view is nice but I would rather sit on the beach and enjoy my lunch box much more.

Lori G

Beautiful view is all. We waited over an hour to be acknowledged. Went to find our own menu and twice got up to ask for service. The food was cold when we finally received it. Total time there for a regular meal was 2 hours. Never acknowledged by staff. Help would not make eye contact with us. Others around us were served. We normally tip wait staff in all the restaurants we go in to. Not here. Not one dime more. Would not recommend. For the view only, go sit on the beach
