In January 2022 my husband and I had a lovely dinner here. The interior courtyard was quiet and filled with lovely trees and plants. There was no music (a negative mentioned by other reviewers) and it was very peaceful. I had a delicious salad with oranges, avocados, nuts and granola, dried fruits - not at all traditional Oaxacan, but refreshing and very tasty. I also had three small toasted pita breads with three cheeses on them and caramelized onions - again, very tasty. Kind of like mini pizzas. Both dishes also had a sprinkling of goat cheese, which was a welcome change from the bland and mild Mexican cheeses. We would highly recommend Rupestre.

The best breakfast I’ve found in Oaxaca. In particular, both of the hot cake dishes (savory and sweet) are delicious. Service is quick and friendly.

We walked in accidentally! What’s such a great find! The place is super cute and the staff has amazing customer service. The JAMAICA CONCHAS are a must. They had fresh out of the oven banana muffin that was excellent. I can go on and on on how this place exceeded my expectations.

The food isn't spectacular, just okay, but the lovely space and attentive, friendly staff make up for it. I can't recommend the pastries, which have always been bland whenever I tried them.

Wonderful Xochimilco outdoor restaurant with a broad-spectrum menu. Only negative is that there are no Gluten-free baked goods which is a shame because the bakery is in-house. As a Gluten-free Baker, it would not be much of a stress to produce small quantities for specific items, such as hamburgers and filled croissy at breakfast.

Overrated and not worth the wait. 15 minutes for a coffee is the worst we had in Mexico (and really bad coffee). Very style over substance. Take your money elsewhere.

Our experience at Rupestre was highly disappointing. Despite waiting for over 15 minutes, we were left without any service and ultimately decided to leave. Such a lack of attention to customers is unacceptable and severely tarnished our impression of the establishment.

This restaurant has great staff, menu, and ambiance. I’m giving them 1 star because of a huge drawback. In the dining area they have a “musician” that is electrified and is playing SO LOUD that conversation is impossible, my ears are ringing, I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I won’t be returning. There are so many customer-friendly restaurants in Oaxaca.
