HIDDEN. GEM. - This place is fantastic! Tiny café off the beaten path. We had pour over, chai latte, tonic espresso, the best horchata I’ve ever had (made to order), avocado toast and the most incredible grilled cheese. Everything was 11/10! The owner is super kind. I visited multiple times and was never disappointed.

Do yourself a favor and eat here :) The owner/chef brings his experience and culinary vision from working at some of the top restaurants in Oaxaca to this amazing breakfast and lunch spot. The dishes are thoughtfully designed, with local produce bought daily, and the chai latte is the best in town. To top it off, the staff are super nice and welcoming, and the restaurant is pet friendly!

I generally don’t review places but the grilled cheese sandwiches was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The coffee is perfect and the vibe is fantastic.

Buen servicio, muy buena atención, desde que llegas te reciben con buena actitud, en cuanto la comida es buena y la caracteriza de otros restaurantes

La comida es simplemente excelente. Cada platillo refleja calidad en los ingredientes. Se nota claramente el cuidado en cada detalle: desde la presentación hasta el último bocado. Aquí no solo comes rico, comes con intención, con propuesta y con personalidad. El servicio es uno de sus mayores aciertos: ameno, atento y muy bien coordinado. Todo fluye con naturalidad, sin prisas ni descuidos, haciendo que la experiencia sea cómoda y sumamente agradable. Mención especial para el chef, cuya atención es de primer nivel. Su cercanía, pasión y disposición para explicar los platillos elevan la experiencia a otro nivel. No es común encontrar esa combinación de talento, humildad y carisma en una misma persona, y aquí se vive.

Puedo decir que el lugar es un ambiente muy acogedor, que el olor te haga entrar enseguida y que al probar las cosas ricas que preparan sea aun mucho mejor de lo que oliste; para mi venir a salvaje es llegar y sentir un abrazo al corazón con los diversos sabores que encuentras aquí. Doy un 10/10

Attention to detail and attention to the customer was above what I expected. The staff supported me in allowing me to eat my breakfast while also timing the take out for my partner to be ready for when i left. Their home made chai was deliciously soothing and had a kick. It was a nice place to sit and journal too.

One of my favorite spots i got to try in Oaxaca! The tostado de hongos was absolutely delicious and i already want to go back for it, I also tried the chilaquiles and fried chicken sandwich which were all incredible. The homemade passionfruit soda was so great and unique and they let us try some kombucha as well. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable explaining each dish and the ingredients as well as their processes. Such a warm and welcoming environment with amazing food and vibes I can’t recommend it enough!

Absolutely delightful little cafe featuring great simple breakfasts and lunches made with incredible care. The barista was incredibly helpful and even made us a to-go kit for a dinner out of the city. The space is super charming and easy to get to as well, and they were playing great music too!

Out of this world. The perfect flat white. So good we had to come back again the next day. Then we got the ash fried chicken sandwich, which was the best I’ve ever had. Would come back if we had more time. Don’t make my mistake, come here early in your trip.

Salvaje is a local hidden gem. I ate here for multiple meals on my long stay in Oaxaca. The food is so creative and delicious, best flat whites in town. Mane is so friendly, and always greeted us with huge smiles. This place is dog-friendly too. My favorites were the hot cakes and fried chicken sandwich. Definitely try the creamiest, homemade ice cream too, you won't be disappointed!! Thank you for everything Mane and chefs, we can't wait til our next trip back!

We were staying close by and stumbled into this gem. Mani was so friendly when we walked by, so we had to try it, and the food was out of this world. Such an amazing and delicious take on everything. I cannot recommend everything we tried high enough and I never leave reviews - eggs Benedict, chicken sandwich, affrogato, chocolate ice cream, hot chocolate, dirty chai, iced horchata latte. Manual created flavors that were unique, deliciously balanced, and artistically presented! Forget your preconceptions of what these dishes are and try Salvaje’s unique version, you won’t be disappointed and the value is fantastic. I will definitely be back and glad we found Salvaje early in our 3 week visit.

Best restaurant in Oaxaca period, the staff is incredibly kind, but that’s not the point the food is some of best I’ve ever had in Mexico incredibly artistic and creative with only high quality ingredients, the photos speak for themselves.
