We are from Australia, and on our last night discovered this hidden gem away from the Main Street. We were greeted by Maria, and the chef even came out to explain the specials to us. After expressing we were after fresh fish, Maria recommended the combo sushi platter for 550peso, it was incredibly tasty and a good variety of fish and types of rolls, sauces, ginger and wasabi. We were prepared to perhaps need another meal after the platter, however the serving size was very generous and left very satisfied. The fish was so fresh and we could see the kitchen and how much the chefs cared. We paired it with two glasses of wine each which was of very good quality. Our bill was cheap for the amount we ate and drank; 1000peso. We were more then happy to give a generous tip due to service and food quality. Honestly we went to plenty of venues on this strip and the first review we’ve felt strongly about making! Eat here!!!! (The portion of food in the picture is only 1/3 of what we got)

At first I thought the price was a bit on the high side but the quality and variety of ingredients was legit and tasty. Only downside is the amount of flies. Would eat again.

If you do like japanese food, this is your place, there are many places in Puerto Escondido who have sushi on their menu, well, Sushido is by far the best sushi in town. A wonderful chef taking care of your food in a nice, easygoing Restaurant, is what you want when it is about japanese and its special kitchen. And that's what we find in this oasis of sushi in the rinconada hood over there in Puerto. Absolutely delicious !!!!

The place is super nice and workers are amazing! Best service I’ve had in Puerto Escondido! The rolls are so good and huge. Our waiter Carlos is so hospitable and make sure you don’t forget the mezcal shot!

It’s definitely the BEST sushi puerto escondido has! I live here since a long time and tested all the sushi places and this one is SPECIAL! Super fresh, it looks amazing, it tastes amazing, the staff is so nice. Definitely my new favorite spot to go here!

This was a surprise find. Japanese street food and really really tasty. We had the Yakimeshi with shrimp, the Temaki with red tuna and the miso soup, all excellent. The miso soup is a miso base and does have tofu but that’s where the similarities end, it’s a big bowl with glass noodles and vegetables, really a delicious and special bowl of soup. The four star is because almost all sushi related menu items come with ‘cream cheese, don’t know why and a big turn off (took mine out from the Temaki) for sushi lovers. We saw the rolls, which looked immense, not a subtle roll. Vegetarian friendly. Waitress and service was great.

The price was far greater than the quality offered. Each sushi roll was cut unevenly and had more rice and cream cheese filling than fish inside. We purchased the Kombo sushi plate for two people ($600) and felt like we filled up more on rice than anything else. The croquettes were greasy, mushy, and soggy. The tuna croquettes was reminiscent of cat food in look, smell and texture. I do not recommend this restaurant. Not worth it for the price. However, the atmosphere was quite nice and the service was great.

The overall rating is due to sushi quality and cost, the service was great, the atmosphere was nice and the location was convenient. We ordered the “Kombo” to share between the two of us, which comes with 6 aranchinis, 6 nigiri and then 20 mixed pieces. The fried fish aranchinis were very good, however that’s where the praise for the food ends. All sushi rolls were basically the same thing, consisting of 4 ingredients: avocado, shrimp, cream cheese and tuna/salmon. Sometimes the fish would be inside, and sometimes it would be on top, but each roll tasted the exact same. The quality of the fish was medium. The raving reviews of the sushi here on google really threw us off, and maybe we had too high of expectations going into it— but we were disappointed. The ginger and wasabi was good, but none of the 3 different soy sauces actually tasted like soy sauce.
