Really good. Service was fantastic. I had the seafood dish over fried rice. Sorry I'm not Peruvian but the platanos were 🔥.
This is by far the BEST Peruvian food eatery I have ever been to. Everything is perfect and continues to be perfect upon repeat visits. It's incredible that I can't help but scarf down this food faster than even my mom's own cooking. But hey, it's not as good as my sister's yet so there's still room for improvement somewhere, lol.
Picante was our first stop after landing in Ontario, California on our vacation. It was so worth it! The food and the service were perfection, and the price was right. I highly recommend it!
Really good Peruvian small restaurant, quick and professional service, loved their maracuya and chicha sweet drinks very refreshing, just a little too sweet, so we added plain water and they were perfect! All dishers were delicious.
FIRST TIME TRYING PERUVIAN FOOD AND OMG I AM BLOWN AWAY!!! Everything from the service from Gianfranci to absolutely all the food we had was delicious. We had the combo marino and lomo saltado. Also tried the chicha morada and maracuya drinks. 1000 out of 10 just 🔥 and like we say in Puerto Rico it was #EnLaMadre. This is a MUST for us moving forward when we are in Cali.
Fantastic AUTHENTIC Peruvian food. I have not found another in the area yet that sells Anticuchos (beef heart skewers) and they are soo good. Cooked perfect, nice and tender. And their huancaina sauce is delicious, smooth and mildy spicy as it should be. And finally great quality beef!!!!! Not chewy or fatty. I'll be back soon!
Food was good. I've been here a total of 3 times. I've had the Anticuchos and they were amaizing. The Lomo saltado was good and the combo marino. They have to work on the Chicha morada and Maracuya, they are very bland and I don't recommend those drinks. Go for the Inka Kola.
Absolutely amazing flavors. I have been to at least 10-12 Peruvian places and this one has to be up their with the best of them. Place is a little small but the flavors pack a nice punch.
The food was great don’t get me wrong, but one thing that bothered me is what I witnessed when I was there. I don’t post reviews because I can just recommend to my friends and they can do it, but I came on here because I felt that I had to post this cause I kept thinking about it late at night. I think it was Saturday that this young girl walks in straight to the kitchen then comes out a few seconds later and starts talking to the chef, and I didn’t mean to eavesdrop till I saw the look on her face. I thought at first the girl was his daughter but it turns out she was a client, she’s the one that bakes the alfajores. From what I could hear over my tables conversation is that he was taking the credit of her work and she didn’t know that, and her family had told her, it seems like it really hurt her from the look in her eyes although she put on a smile. At the end it seemed that he wasn’t going to buy anymore and she left without saying much. If anyone knows her or sees her again please comment, I’d love to order from her, the alfajores were great just like the food and I’d like to enjoy both! Anyways other than that I’d recommend the lomo dish it was really good and the meat was tender, not tough or chewy just right! I’d defiantly go back at least once a month to enjoy all the dishes!
Amazing as always! We love the lomo Saltado and I always get the plantains. This time we tried the pesto noodles for the first time and we were blown away by how delicious it was!
Now THIS is how Peruvian food is supposed to be! I ordered the Tallarin Verde con Lomo Saltado AND Combo Marino. That pesto sauce was amazing. Actually, all their sauces were immaculate. The spicy Aji was so good, I came home with a big container of it. The lomo saltado came out just under well done so it was juicy. The cuts were more cubes so I had a good time with that dish. The ceviche was fresh and crisp. The seafood rice was on point. I've never had a fried rice with smokey seafood before so this blew my mind. Only thing was the Tallarin dish was a smidge salty, but nothing too crazy. It was a packed house on a Sunday. All in all great meal.
Solid A on the lomo saltado. One of the better dishes Ive had in a long time. This place is a gem and the prices are decent. 100% recommended
Everything was Delicious! Probably my 7th or 8th time eating here. Order details 1x Chaufa de Pollo 1x Lomo a la Huancaina 1x Tallarin Verde Chicken 1x Chaufa de Carne
Hidden gem! I came here because a Peruvian friend recommended it and I seriously fell in love. The food is so good, the meat in the lomo is super tender and full of flavor, the tallarín was delicious, and my favorite has to be the ceviche! I’m used to Mexican-style ceviche so this was a bit different for me, but I loved it. On top of the food, the service is always great! the staff is really nice and even though the place is small, they do their best to fit bigger groups. Definitely recommend trying this spot!
It’s been a while since we had good Peruvian food . One of our chef friends recommended Picante to us. They open at 10:30am. We didn’t have breakfast so we were pretty hungry by the time we arrived at 11am. The interior is simple and quaint with cool murals on the wall when you enter. We shared the Anticuchos de corazon to start. It was my first time having it but with the way the season and grill it, I just thought it was steak . We both got our “go to” Peruvian dishes; Lomo Saltado for me and Tallarin Verde con Lomo for my husband . We ate every last bit of our food, so delicious. Service was also super friendly. They’re going to be opening a second location featuring Peruvian chicken in Upland so we’re super excited for that. Can’t wait… 😝
Small but bright restaurant with great Peruvian flavors. We really enjoyed the loco saltado.
Our first time having a Peruvian meal, but it definitely won't be our last. Although the menu is limited, the food is delicious! Such a nice vibe, with flavors that really delivered. The pesto sauce was the best I ever had and the meat was so tender and savory. If you are in the area I would definitely come check them out.
Best Lomo a la huancaina I’ve ever tried in Los Angeles. The service was great, it was only one server for all the tables and she nailed it. The food was delicious and the maracuya 🤤
Stopped here for lunch and when we left my husband and I didn't have one negative thing to say. Everything was amazing the place was very clean and it was quite busy. The service was great, got checked on often and anything we needed was brought to us right away. The food was absolutely delicious! We got the Tallarin Verde Con Lomo, Combo Marino, plantains, both signature drinks, and the lucuma ice cream. Everything was cooked perfect and served quickly. I definitely recommend and we're looking forward to our next visit.
One of the best Peruvian restaurants in Southern California ever. since we entered the restaurant the owner welcomed my family and he make us feel like home. Plus the dishes were delicious. Strongly recommend.
Picante is a hidden gem in Ontario. The restaurant is quaint, clean, and has good latin music. The service was very good and our server was helpful explaining any questions. We got the lomo saltado and aji de gallina. The flavors were fantastic, probably some of the best peruvian food I've ever had. The prices were very reasonable. I will definitely be returning asap!
Amazing ! Was told about this hidden gem by a family member . The food is delicious, very authentic Peruvian cuisine. Freshly made to order , you can tell quality ingredients. Super friendly staff willing to guide you to a perfect dish that suites you , Very clean and modern location . Portion sizes are more then average and price per dish are very well priced . Oh don't forget to grab a Inca Cola or Chicha morada to wash down your meal ! Differently deserving of 5 🌟 all the way , would highly recommend. Can wait to visit again and try everything on the menu .

Picante serves delicious Peruvian food. The place is in a strip mall, it is cozy and clean. The staff were very attentive, professional and accommodating. They had Peruvian dolls as part of their decor and the music made the atmosphere joyous. We will definitely visit this place often.
The seco de cordero and chaufa de mariscos were delicious. I’m definitely coming back soon. The waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful. The chicha morada was just okay, it didn’t taste like an authentic Peruvian drink, and I’ve had better before. Overall, this is a really good place to eat Peruvian food. You won’t regret it.
I always order the lomo saltado online. Very quick and easy. I always arrive early and my food is ready for pick up. The employees are very polite. Cutlery and generous amounts of aji always in the packaging. The food has been delicious in my last 3 visits
Went with my family and I got a Passion Fruit drink with the Tacu Tacu con Lomo Saltado and it was absolutely fantastic. The meat was tender and the rice and beans had so much flavor. We had the cookies and the ice cream for dessert and they were delicious as well. Super fun place with a great vibe and they offer something different than most other places. Would definitely recommend!
Forgot the pic but my pesto noodle Tallarine seafood dish was delectable! Good portion as well. Myfriend got saltado de pollo and she it all. I dont personally believe a persneeds fries AND a big scoop of white rice, but I think Americans take too many carbs.
Picante blew my husband and I away food is amazing!! I don’t say that often, trust me lol. I’ve tried other Peruvian spots in the past and this one is the best hands down. Meat quality is good sauces are authentic and delicious. Wish i discovered Picante sooner! Try the beef empanadas
As a proud Peruvian, I was excited to hear from family that a new Peruvian restaurant had opened nearby—and I had to try it for myself. I placed a takeout order around 7:45 PM on a Sunday, and despite arriving close to closing time, the staff welcomed me warmly with a fresh, hot meal ready to go. The restaurant was in the process of closing and cleaning for the next day—mopping and sanitizing—but still had a lively, welcoming atmosphere, with customers happily finishing their meals. As a business owner myself, I really appreciated their professionalism and cleanliness. Now, onto the food—my lomo saltado was absolutely incredible. Perfectly seasoned, tender meat, fluffy rice, and just the right balance of spices. To top it off, they even had Diet Inka Kola for those of us who need our fix! This place is a gem, and I’ll definitely be supporting this small business again. 10/10!
Excellent preparation and flavor has improved since last visit. Peruvian dishes are quality with great ingredients. A bit pricey but as close you can get to gourmet in the I.E. region. Decent sized portions. Wish they had wine or beer but I assume the liquor license is prohibitive cost wise. Only place with decent anticuchos in the area.
It’s hard to find a Peruvian restaurant that serves well and also has great seasoning and honestly this place meets that. The limo Saltado was very good and well prepared and the service there is great. Also the tallarin verde is also good not to mention the salsa de aji they make is spot on.
This place is amazing!!! The food is so delicious 😋. We've been here 2 times in 1 week and we can't wait to go back. Everything is delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Such a hidden gem!!!!

I had the pollo saltado. The food is very delicious. The portion seemed a bit small. For the price, I paid I was expecting a big portion meal. Living in the South Bay I would always go to El Pollo Inka and their portions are big enough to have some food left over. The Chicha Morado is very tasty and refreshing!
Maybe it was the plate I ordered. It was the seafood fried rice. I was not expecting an Asian flavor from the fried rice at "Picante." Either way, it was good. The other dishes the crew ordered looked appetizing. Decent small hole in the wall type of place.

Overpriced, overrated, and bad service. This place doesn't offer anything special except gouging customers for mediocre food and bad service. There was no side salad or soup on the menu as I have visited other Peruvian restaurants like, Pollo Inca in the Los Angeles area, who offer these options. Also, the conceited waitress would not compromise when we asked for a simple substitution. I don't think I'll be coming back to Picante.
