Fantastic valentines dinner. The service was great and the meal was well worth it. The only negative was the dessert- the cheesecake was not my favorite.

I'm gluten, dairy and soy free. I was passing thru and found a review from someone qith Celiac. I thought, this is definitely a place to try. I'm a foodie at heart. I had the grilled chicken sandwich on GF bread, with aioli, goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes and fries. I enjoyed the meal, Crystal's service and attention to detail(I missed that the sandwich came with provolone, but she caught it). Parking was a breeze and they weren't very busy when I came in at 1. I'll be back. Prices aren't bad either. I'll definitely be back. I had confidence that I would not get inadvertently glutened or have stray dairy in my good. I can eat goat's cheese for whatever reason.

Oddly enough, just read a one-star review of the same meal I just had. I went with the fixed price lunch option for $25. It was hard to choose, but I decided on the Pan Fried Dumplings appetizer to start. The three dumplings (ate one before taking a picture) were incredible and fresh, each ingredient worked well together but also stood out. The main course and side was the half Rueben sandwich & salad. The pastrami was DELIGHTFUL, the bread was clearly high quality, the sauerkraut was well-portioned, and the sauce was outstanding. Easily one of the best Ruebens I have ever had! And the side salad was delightful with crisp bibb lettuce, delightfully pickled and fresh veggies, and a lightly tart dressing that wasn’t overwhelming the quality vegetables and greens. Even the pickle on the side was surprisingly outstanding! After inquiring about the pickles being pickled in-house, I learned the owner’s mother is the genius behind them! Excellent service from Jack in a truly comfortable and welcoming environment. Forked on Main is a new go-to for me after this first experience, excited to bring friends and family here in the near future!

My wife ate here several years ago when we were staying at the nearby bed and breakfast. It was excellent then, so we decided to give it another try when we were passing through recently. However, we were surprised to see it remodeled and open under a new name. However, new name aside, it was still a cozy and charming place to eat. The prices are on the high side, but the delicious plates are worth it. My seared salmon over risotto was superb. The service was friendly and attentive, too. Be sure to check this place out on your next visit to Orange.

This is my first review here though I have eaten here several times. Very creative menu with twists on regular items that are delightful. Airy space with a homey old town feel. Varied menu and each item was delicious. Well stocked bar as well. I have been here at lunch each time and have seen it full to the brim and then just starting to fill as I leave with seating usually available in the bar if not in the restaurant. Will be coming back here as well as the sister restaurant the Inn at Willow Grove :)

We had an amazing experience when we chose Forked on Main for the Rehearsal Dinner for a wedding that took place in Orange. Stephanie (owner) cares about her restaurant and guests. She, the chef, and staff exceeded our expectations! The rehearsal dinner ran smoothly, the food was top notch, and the staff was very friendly. Before planning the menu, we went to Forked on Main for dinner and everything was delicious! The owner and chef both worked with us to create dishes that would meet the varied needs of our guests. If you are in the area, stop in, meet Stephanie, and definitely get the salmon. Thanks for great memories!

The food is amazing, but the drinks are even better (we know, we tried most of them)! You can't beat the service either; the manager & assistant manager are both super nice. We've been trying to make it for dinner for months, but happen to get in during lunch and couldn't have been luckier. Even other regular patrons are a joy to dine with. If you can't enjoy a meal here, I'm sorry.

We stopped by as we were passing through Orange and was delighted to find this restaurant. They have a great selection on their menu and the service and presentation was perfect. The soup of the day was loaded potato with beef which was amazing. Their quality of food at a very fa9r price is hard to beat. You should give them a try!

I'm a local resident and have been coming here for past years. The new talented owner and stellar chef have made this a local haunt of mine, menu has been revamped and the quality and execution of the food is one of the very best in this town. I came in last week and had the braised pork cheek while my partner had the filet mignon. Bar drinks were delicious and packed a punch, steak was perfectly cooked and the potatoes were one of the best I have ever tasted. My braised pork cheek was outstanding too. We then ordered another round of drinks with the creme brulee dessert, from start to finish it was excellent. The owner came up to us multiple times to make sure everything was okay and to our liking, service was great too. Will be back often here and recommend it to anyone who visits Orange, right on main street, easy to find and plenty of parking.

We attended a rehearsal dinner here and it was EXCEPTIONAL!!! The food and the service were both outstanding. We had the roasted red pepper and Gouda soup along with the braised beef over polenta. Both were packed with flavor and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The portions were generous. The staff was extremely accommodating. We had to scoot out early and the manager ran out to our car with desserts prepared to-go! The decor provides a warm, romantic atmosphere. It was an all around wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

My dinner at Forked on Main was so delicious. Everything we ordered (and we order a lot) was cooked to perfection. The mock tails were such a great touch and I can’t wait to go back.

I have celiac and my wife is gluten intolerant. We felt welcome from the moment we entered the restaurant. The owner reassured us that the took precautions to provide a safe dining experience. They are not a dedicated gluten-free restaurant, but are very knowledgeable about food allergies. Our server was attentive and kind. The lobster bisque, beet and goat cheese salad, the NY strip and the Filet were divine. I would definitely go back.

Had a great lunch yesterday at Forked on Main. We arrived a bit after the lunch hour but the service and food was still terrific. The crab bisque was really good and paired with the focaccia bread was even better. The Forked Salad with shrimp was very tasty. Very welcoming people and light and airy atmosphere. Great music on the speakers. Recommended.

Delightful atmosphere on a rainy day. Waitress was very attentive and allowed us to split an entree......delicious triple cheese grilled sandwich with sweet potato fries! Coffee was served in a large decorative mug. A great place for a break.

Stopped in for dessert on Mother’s Day and received an added bonus of some beautiful roses. I ordered the moose which was delicious, definitely going to get it again. I am slightly picky on how my drinks are made and they were spot on! Thank you for the great service!

A lot of love and care was put into this place, the ambience is great, beautiful decorations, great menu, Great wine selection, we went in with no expectations and as soon as walked in we realize it was a fantastic choice. If you are in town, don’t miss this place.

Had an absolutely wonderful Mother's Day dinner! We've been coming to Forked for quite some time now and we've watched it go through many changes, and it's all for the better. Stephanie, the new owner, got us seated right away, and Stephen, our waiter, was awesome. He was prompt and amiable and we didn't have to wait around for our drinks and our food like we have at other places around here. Chef is creating some incredibly good food (we had the tuna tartar appetizer and the fish and the steak and both were cooked perfectly) and his presentation and flavor combinations are always on point. This place just keeps getting better and better. We love the folks here, we love the ambiance, the food, the drink, you name it. It's our favorite go-to in town and Orange is lucky to have it! Treat yourself, you won't be disappointed.

My family and I were traveling through the area and heard about Forked from a local, and the restaurant did not disappoint. Our mocktails were really impressive, you should definitely try them. Even the water was exceptional; we questioned if we were just dehydrated from walking all day or if the water was really that good (jury's still out on that one..) Our server was kind and professional, knowledgeable about the menu, and happy to accommodate our toddler. They even brought out extra berries for our toddler to enjoy as dessert. While the atmosphere is sophisticated, we didn't feel out of place as a family, and felt welcomed. The fried queen olives were a yummy treat. If I had to be nit-picky, the risotto was too liquidy for my tastes (as noted by other commenters as well), and I'd suggest making it thicker and creamier. The dessert blondie would be even better if it was served hot. Really though, we enjoyed all of our food. I wish we could come back to try even more! I also want to give a shout out to all of the other staff we interacted with, from the gentleman that refilled our drinks to the floor manager. Everyone made us feel so welcome, it was a great vibe. We recommend Forked on Main!

First time at this place and wow, everything was 100%. Food was absolutely smashing but the highlight of the night was Claire L, our server. She was tentative, kind, fast with service, and went out of her way to ensure we had a great night. My fiancée has a gluten and dairy allergy and Claire made sure that her entree was safe to eat and had plenty of recommendations for the whole table. If you plan on eating here, expect a phenomenal meal, outstanding cocktails, and amazing desserts. On top of the amazing food and drinks, if you ask for Claire as your server, you can expect the best service there is. Thanks for amazing service Claire!

Delicious food and fantastic atmosphere. The restaurant has a really nice aesthetic and many of the menu items could be adjusted to be gluten free. We especially loved the Parmesan truffle fries!

I don't often write reviews but the changes recently have warranted a good review. We've lived in town for 10 years. Forked has always been a nice place to dine but we didn't go regularly because it was pricey for the level of food. Just never really wowed us. But now...WOW... the new owner and chef have really cranked it up. The food is fantastic. We go there much more frequently because I can't get some favorites out of my head. Love the brussel sprout app, the pesto mushroom pasta, the rigatoni, the shrimp risotto. So delicious.

We so enjoyed dining at Forked tonight. Our waitress and bartender, Sara, was attentive and engaging; and it was a pleasure getting to know her. Shrimp & Grits and Fish & Chips were great, as was the dry French chardonnay that Sara recommended. We have been dining here for 3+ years and continue to frequent Forked when we are in the area. Sorry to have missed you, Stephanie!

R

I eat at Forked on Main every week. I recently relocated from Washington DC, and it is the only restaurant that has consistent high quality food in town. They have a great wine selection, Sarah is an awesome bartender, And Stephanie, the owner listens and reacts to all feedback from her customers. She runs her business in a professional and responsible manner. Denis the executive chef is creative and his dishes are spectacular. If you're used to eating at places like Applebee's where the shrimp is overcooked, this is not the place for you. If you like a fusion of flavors and food prepared exactly the way it should be, don't miss this restaurant

Brunches here were fabulous - food and service, but they have decided to discontinue. Decided to take friends there for a first time dinner. Service was very good...had reservations no waiting. Lounge music (bluegrass) loud, overpowering entire dining area. Dining was average. Crab soup appetizer was delicious and full of crab. Rigatoni meal was fine if not a bit overpriced. Lemon chicken over cooked, no flavor and uneatable. Mussels although a good portion...so small would not suggest trying to pair up with an appetizer as a meal item. Management sympathetic to our constructive criticism, comping the chicken and dropping a couple complimentary desserts on the table.

Really cool spot. Easy parking. Great modern flavor for an American brunch. Burger was awesome, onions cooked down to a wonderful almost jammy consistency. The shrimp and grits was a good take on a southern classic. And the pancakes were light, fluffy, and served with wonderfully paired fruit. And then there was amazing service. We called in the day of Easter, travelling from out of state and although packed, the hostess graciously made room for us. And we’re glad she did. Great overall experience.

My husband and I live in Orange and we eat at Forked on a fairly regular basis. Forked is definitely one of the higher end restaurants in the area, and the prices reflect that. But if you don’t mind paying a bit more for some excellent food, then Forked is a great option. I am vegetarian and regularly get the Caprese sandwich for lunch. It is absolutely phenomenal. My husband has tried a variety of options from the menu, and he is always very happy with whatever he orders. As far as the atmosphere, I enjoy that the restaurant is quiet and more upscale. It’s great for a date night or to celebrate a special occasion.

This by far a excellent restaurant! We got appetizers, cup of seasonal soup, The burger and grilled Ceasar salad w/ chicken. All was exceptionally delicious 😋 our waiter was awesome. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is calming and the service is top notch. I tried their grilled Caesar salad with added chicken. I've never had such a tasty Caesar before. The croutons are made fresh, the sliced parmesan is plentiful and the dressing is creamy good! But the best part of our experience was the service. Our server, Carly, was friendly, gave us an excellent recommendation on the wine, and made us feel so welcome while we were there. She's the best!

We were pleasantly surprised. The best restaurant we have tried in the Lake Anna area. Not the same old, same old boring menu. Fresh, well prepared and presented food. Outstanding bolognese on pappardelle, salad, most beautiful side of roasted squash I may have tasted. Stephanie was pleasant and accommodating . I felt like I was having a meal well prepared at a friend’s house. Highly recommend.

This is one of our favorite spots me and my husband go to for date night. The food is amazing. We usually start off with the charcuterie for two and we love the Steak Frites & Seared Duck for entrees. The owner and staff are always accommodating. I would definitely recommend Forked On Main, 10/10!!

We ordered food over the phone for take out. We both ordered the market fish which was rockfish, grilled asparagus, kim chi salad and something else. The only problem was there wasn't enough! I could have easily eaten 2 whole servings! Every morsel was better-tasting than the next. Not too salty, mouth-watering flavors, every item cooked to perfection. WOW! I live more than an hour away south of Charlottesville, but I will be back. We had reservations at another Orange restaurant, but we couldn't eat in because it was too hot to leave my dog in the car, plus the other restaurant didn't have salmon, turns out the rockfish was an excellent choice, I didn't miss having salmon at all. The phone gal and wait people inside who checked me out were friendly, efficient and supportive. The place inside had a beautiful vibe, nice low buzz of patrons chatting, eating, drinking ... seems like a wonderful eatery with a small town atmosphere and charm and fantastic chef and kitchen. Thank you.

We had our company Christmas dinner at this fine establishment. Upon arrival I met the owner Stephanie, a remarkably funny lady, and a pleasure to talk to. The atmosphere is laid back. The gentleman that was responsible for handling our party was fantastic, I'm sorry for forgetting his name. The food was amazing, and from all my employees I was told was delicious. So if you live in Orange,Va or are passing through, I recommend that you stop in for an amazing experience, you will not be disappointed. I plan on returning next Christmas for our company dinner, if not sometime well before then. If you haven’t been back since Forked on Main opened their doors after the Covid shut down, you are missing out on one of the best Restaurants in Orange. I am so impressed by their new menu. Although the crab bisque did not have much flavor, it did have a couple of nice chunks of crabmeat. Other dishes were outstanding especially the squid ink pasta. The blueberry cobbler needed a bit more cobbler to go with all those wonderful blueberries. Service was attentive and unobtrusive. Atmosphere was quirky and delightful.

Why am I limited to only 5 stars??? Why can’t I add 1 or 2 or 50 more stars. I am not exaggerating when I say this restaurant might have some the the best food and inventive drinks I have ever seen! Every dish was outstanding!! Every drink was well mixed and just delicious!! I am so happy we came here and I want to take the 2.5 hour trip from our house just for more! The live music was great! As a NYC transplant myself this place felt like home to me. A gem in the area with great fresh food just as I would want it. A small menu that accommodates most taste with veggie options. A SMALL MENU IS A GREAT THING!! It keeps costs down, keeps quality and freshness at its best. A menu like this is the sign of a great place that cares about presenting the best dining experience. Great place for a date or a nice quiet high quality meal. Any excuse to come back and I will be back! Cheers!

I will be honest I had had anotherwise really bad day. I had traveled on vacation to Orange Virginia. Specifically for a few attractions, but I travel with a service dog and that it cost me a few issues earlier in the day. I can honestly tell you that forked on main really really put some fun on the end of an otherwise horrible day. The food was amazing I cannot say enough about the staff they are the most caring and competent people I have met in a long time. If you are ever in this area this is a must. And just don't get me started on the cocktails amazing! I could not recommend this place more it is the best

This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in years. The biscuits are to die for, the restaurant is beautiful, the staff is exceptionally friendly, and the food is absolutely terrific. My BLT had Dorito-crusted bacon on it, which was honestly an incredible combination! I can't remember the last time I had such a fantastic meal. The prices are also incredibly low, it blew my mind. I live in New York so I'm used to higher prices of course but it was like $10 for an entire meal! Everyone should come here cause y'all are totally missing out on this gem.

Best restaurant in Orange & our go to! Stephanie is fantastic and Sarah is our favorite bartender!! The drinks are always delicious as is the food! Outstanding restaurant. We’ve been there multiple times and it never disappoints. Today we were drawn to the Burger and Brew Special for $20. You can’t beat that price anywhere. Had a delicious lunch and an overall good experience. There was a large party of women near us that was very loud and pretty obnoxious...our server graciously offered to move us to the other side of the restaurant so that we could enjoy our lunch. All of the staff were super sweet and attentive, which is honestly hard to come by these days. Our food was flavorful, and they even had many gluten free options. Can't wait to come back!

Unbelievably, and pleasantly surprised! I am used to going to restaurants and being unimpressed and often, disappointed. This place is AMAZING! Everything was hot and delicious, and very unique.

Decided on this place after seeing the menu online. We were surprised when we arrived to see the menu was completely different. It was partially our fault, we failed to notice the pictures of the menu were two years old. The menu is very different and prices are very different as well. The restaurant was very clean and staff is nice. We ordered Pimento Cheese & Fried Pickles which were very good and everything complemented each other very well. We also ordered the Gnocchi, the flavor was excellent but the portion size seemed small for $14. For entrées we ordered the Vegetable Risotto again flavors were awesome and portion size was huge, but on the downside the risotto was a little soupy for us. Our second entrée was the Lemon Basil Linguine, this was the true gem of our evening, everything about it was exquisite from the chicken, pasta, and the sauce it was out of this world good. Fork on main is definitely a place I would recommend for people to try if in the area.

The place is nice and it has a well stocked bar. Definitely a date night spot right in the heart of downtown Orange. Everything was excellent but the wait to get appetizers was long and our waitress was not very attentive for how slow the place was. To start we had the seared tuna and a bowl of edamame for appetizers. There were other couples that were seated after us that had appetizer and were eating their entrees before we got the appetizers. For dinner i had the Peppered Scallops with grits and asparagus. We also ordered the bone in stuffed pork chop with asparagus and smashed red potatoes, and a 12oz steak with potatoes asparagus and an herded butter. I'm looking forward to ournext visiting.

The food was not good. I’m giving 4 stars overall because the staff were nice and it was noted that they were short staffed. But the food that we had was not good. My husband had to send back the shrimp and grits because the grits had no flavor. I tasted them, and honestly it tasted like there wasn’t even salt added to them. Just plain grits. I had the beet and goat cheese salad which was good, but heavy on the greens, and the mussels. The mussels also had no flavor and were either old, or not fresh by the looks of them, and had a fishy flavor. No one noticed that I barely touched my mussels, either because they were so focused on my husband sending his meal back, or because they were so short staffed, probably both. His replacement meal was a burger. It was ok, just a burger nothing to write home about. Also hats off to the young busser, he was moving and working hard!

Great service but all our food was not that good - just subpar. Steak was overcooked and bolognese was not true bolognese sauce from scratch but seemed like a simple tomato sauce out of a jar. If we returned we would just order something simple like bar food. Attended the orange street festival the following day and had great drinks at their tent.

Haven't been in a while, but they have wonderful food and a fantastic staff. Update from Nov 2024: Still really great! I went for a quick work lunch and had an amazing meal. The rest of my team loved the food as well.

Excellent service! The food was mostly great. The Dirty Dolly Martini was really interesting, but hard to finish. The parmesan with a little intense after a few sips. The fried olives were quite nice, and the bolognese was exceptionally good. The meat was juicy and flaky, pork shoulder fell apart and the sauce was perfectly executed. The only issue we had was the burger. It wasn't that it was a bad burger, but it wasn't good. I'm not sure what cut was used, but it tasted like maybe a sirloin as it was so incredibly dry and I ordered medium and it came out well done which happens sometimes if you're using expensive cuts of meat. Definitely a great experience overall!

Very nice ambiance. Food is very good. Great bread basket. Not enough staff on the day we visited, so order took a long time to arrive.

My experience at Forked was quite mixed. Even though I did not have a reservation, even if I did have one, I stood in the doorway waiting to be seated for 10 minutes just to have staff finally acknowledge me, and an additional five to meet a server. I must say that the appetizers here are phenomenal, but when you're waiting half an hour for a cup of crab bisque, you start to wonder what the holdup could have been. The staff was friendly, especially the bartender once I was seated. I was quite disappointed in the lemon chicken entree, which I expected to have more substance and more meat for the price point offered. If I were to come back to forked, it would definitely just be for their appetizers, and not for any other reason.

Flipped a coin and took a date to Forked. Never again. Although the people were pleasant, the couches and wing back chairs are not ideal for dining. I ordered the "crab bisque" it had about 3 mediocre chunks of crab meat in it and had a very tomato flavored base. More like a tomato "bisque" with crab meat. Also slightly on the soupy side for a bisque. The shells that are ground up to make a bisque are there for flavor and to thicken the base. Not impressed. I also decided to try the Shrimp Scampi Risotto. I couldn't have been more disappointed in this dish. At $27 dollars for such a small portion, Forked should be ashamed to serve it. Not only did the size not stack up to the price but anyone who knows how to make a risotto knows it should be seasoned and infused with garlic and herbs. Although cooked nearly perfect in texture it lacked in flavor. I assume they were relying on the Scampi sauce to help the flavor. Well, par for the course, the scampi was weak in 2 of the 3 flavors your palate should pick up in a proper scampi. The flavor that did come through and over power the dish was the lemon. I feel the marriage of white wine, butter, garlic and lemon wasn't to be found in such a simple sauce that a novice can conquer on their electric stove at home. Overall disappointed in my experience with the food. If you decide to go here, expect 3 star food at a 5 star price. If bland yet sour risotto is your preferred taste... This is the place for you. On a side note, the Shrimp was cooked perfectly.

My brothers treated my mom and I to a Mother’s Day lunch. We had heard Forked was under new ownership and we were excited to try. Our reservation was at 1:15 and we were seated immediately. Our server got our drink orders, food orders and brought out bread rather quickly. After that, everything went down hill. The food was only ok, and their timing was off. We had a table of 8 nearby, that was seated after and left before us. We even asked for more bread because we were hungry and nothing was coming out. I finally went and found my server chatting at the bar with 2 of his coworkers and asked if the food was coming that we had been there over an hour and a half and only had an appetizer. He said he had just checked and the kitchen was backed up. About 5 min later our meals came out. After that everything went faster. My brothers paid the 480 bill for 5 people that included tip. I was questioning the bill because it seemed pretty high for what we had. I didn’t have the receipt but contacted the restaurant and spoke with Stephanie who indicated she was the owner. She did go over the bill with me and I found the tax is where the discrepancy was in my calculations. Either way, she can’t help that. However, while I had her on the line I decided to let her know that the service was disappointing. Stephanie must of assumed that I have never had fine dining before. She said it was standard practice for a 3 course meal - appetizer, main, and dessert to take 2 to 2.5 hours. I have had 5 & 6 course meals take that long but not 3. Instead of apologizing and saying I hope you join us another time with a free appetizer or something like that - she became defensive and rude. She said the phone was breaking up so I started to speak louder and then she says I am yelling at her. She did end up asking what I wanted her to do to fix it, but that isn’t my job. I ended the call asking her to work on her customer service. If someone is giving you feedback, unfortunately as a business owner regardless of how positive or negative - your job is ultimately the customer and to try and turn a negative into a positive. It isn’t easy when all you want to do is defend your establishment - I get that as a business owner myself. I hope Stephanie you read this and take this as constructive and how to deal with the next negative. The 3 stars are for 3 reasons - the bread brought in the beginning specifically the cornbread was very dry, then the convo with Stephanie over the phone after. Finally for a special menu at $65/person and to have the options we were served was a rip in my opinion. My son NEVER complains and he had the chicken dish and ate only the chicken. The fish dinners were all good but my shrimp risotto was just ok. At that price you would expect better than average and this wasn’t it.

The hostess was good. We were seated quickly . We waited nearly 5 mins before we were acknowledged again. Hostess took our drink order and the server came eventually. Food was all over the place. Crab bisque was bland. Pimento cheese wasn’t mixed well and the fried pickles were greasy. Shrimp risotto was delicious and the drinks were good. I really wanted to like this place but I wouldn’t go back.

The house made fig negroni is nice; the turkey club would be equally nice if the bread wasn't a victim of the Exxon Valdez spill. Toast should be crisp and delectable not sodden with oil. Meantime, they couldn't make literally a few dollars change on a crisp 100 dollar bill during a slow lunch. Do better Forked.

We called early to ask if the soup of the day was vegetarian. We were assured that it was. It was a big and very offensive surprise when I bit into a piece of bacon while eating the 'vegetarian' soup. When we called back, the person we spoke to basically placed the blame on us for failing to specify that we wanted the soup vegetarian. At no point did anyone tell us that the soup was garnished with onion and BACON jam. How do you ask not to include an ingredient that you weren't told was there? She offered a refund. She did not offer an apology. The food is good. The service we received was not. We will not be back.

I heard good things about this place and liked the menu. I ordered three items: wings, crostini with fig and prosciutto, and chicken Parmesan. Wings were a 2/10 very little meat behind all the breading and only three. Really let down. The crostini was a 4/10 and I found a hair. The chicken Parm ($27!) was actually a special dish and was a 8.5/10, but could hardly redeem overall. We were sat next to the kitchen even though the restaurant was empty. Very noisy and busy kitchen for how few people were dining. The music of the kitchen vs the music of the dining room was too much. No small talk whatsoever from the wait staff. Cold and unpolished... Not worth the price.

Service was unbelievably slow, our server was slightly busy but spent a lot of time talking to a gentleman at the bar. I understand you need to talk to your customers to make decent tips but because of that our table was barely being checked on. They charged over $20 in just taxes and again I understand that isn’t up to them but still ridiculous. Ordered a desert that took almost 40 min to come out. During that time our server didn’t come to let us know it would be a wait or anything. When the desert finally came it was cold and honestly not the most pleasant thing. If you want to go here set aside at least 2 hours for slow service. The server was friendly but not very attentive. The entrees were very good but the very long wait for a simple desert (apple crisp, presumably premade) kind of ruined the entire dining experience.

Went in for happy hour and was charged $2.50 for ice and $3.00 for no ice on a $6 drink! Such a rip off. I started not to post because I like supporting local businesses, but I felt wronged in some way!! Decent food, but ask for clarity on pricing.

I wasn’t going to review at first but I love that there’s a nice restaurant in Orange, and hope that they may learn something from feedback. We had a reservation for 3 and they seated us right away. Then we discussed cocktails with our server and I let her know that I preferred that my drink is not sweet. Well, it was sweet but I didn’t say anything until she asked how it was. I said it was a bit too sweet and so she asked if I wanted a replacement and I agreed. First we had the artichoke spinach dip which was delicious. The fried oysters were okay, not the best. The fried olives were a novelty. For our mains, I ordered the shrimp and risotto and was disappointed that it was a mere 4 shrimps over maybe 2 tablespoons of risotto and swimming in cream and butter. My mother ordered crab bisque which she said was good and a spinach salad. Her salad was a huge amount of baby spinach filling a dinner plate and little else. She’s 97 years old and not very discerning when it comes to food, but kept asking as she moved her fork through a mound of baby spinach “where’s the other stuff that was described?” Finally, my wife ordered pasta with bolognese sauce. Okay, great that was a fresh pasta but it was rather tasteless, pulled beef with no noticeable Italian herbs or tomato sauce. It was absolutely the worst I’ve ever had (and I’ve been around!). We definitely ordered more than we needed for 3 people but wanted a good sample. When we received our bill, I was charged for both drinks. We brought it to our server’s attention and she then corrected the bill. I think it’s important that in a situation like that a server knows the importance of not charging for 2 drinks and instead saying “I’ve only charged you for that less sweet cocktail.” That kind of service is remarkable. So, all in all, we were all disappointed and hope that the restaurant makes some improvements because staff was pleasant and the space is charming and we would like to take another drive to Orange for dinner some day.

I was very disappointed in the service as my soup was not hot by the time I got my spoon. Did not ask for it reheated as it was not that good. Waiter would not separate bill and stated manager said it could not be done. The restaurant does not accommodate special requests like cutting a burger in half, leaving water on the table or making a cake for celebration. If you bring in a cake they will surcharge $8.00 every person. There was potential for some of the dishes to come back but not after they way they made us feel like the customers did something wrong for making a reservation and eating there.

I was very disappointed in the tuna tartare. it was presented nicely but lacked flavor. I couldn’t even tell if there was tuna because the sesame overwhelmed the dish. There may have been three small pieces of tuna in the entire dish. The crab bisque, presented well, lacked flavor, was lukewarm and only had one piece of crabmeat. I found it odd that the server had to get everything approved by the manager. everything was micromanaged. We will not be returning.

I was really looking forward to our lunch with a large group, but honestly, my experience left a lot to be desired. When calling to make a reservation for many people, we were told that the credit card on file would be charged $25 per person for any no-shows. The reason given by management being “you’re taking up tables that others could be using”. True. However, our party of 12 (who all showed up) found two diners there when we arrived, and no more than a few others during the two+ hours we were there. We certainly did not take use of tables that otherwise would have been occupied. You are welcome for our patronage since I am sure we more than doubled revenue for your “lunch rush”. It would have been much better to frame things positively. A $25 deposit toward our meals would have covered any no-shows (again, we had none), provided a win-win solution, and without this off-putting penalty. I found the reasoning to be in poor taste. Our server, Shaun, was very attentive and provided service worthy of an added tip (our bills already reflecting gratuity included). Unfortunately, we were denied the option of separate checks - sad, given that many of us would have padded the tip. I found it odd that we were denied a pitcher of water for our table of 12. I am sure we could have saved our server a few steps filling our waters when he could have been fielding other issues since all of our requests were micro-managed by “upper management”. My burger was very good, although the request to have it and one other sandwich sliced in half for swap-sharing was also denied. I hope you can take these suggestions in manner intended, to improve the customer experience for your future guests (of which we will not be). P.S. the fried pickles were bomb.

The lunch experience was underwhelming. Although the presentation and concept were commendable the overall execution fell short. Unfortunately my meal lakes flavor and was greasy. In a large party the standout dishes were fried pickles and a burger. In my opinion management was the primary issue. The waiter required managerial approval for every request which was consistently denied including simple requests for water in the table to getting change for paying the bill. This was quite unusual. When making the reservation we mentioned it was a birthday celebration lunch and we requested to bring a cake which was denied. We also inquired about the possibility of the restaurant baking a cake but this was also denied. The only option provided was to bring a cake ourselves and have the restaurant charge us $8 per person for consuming it on the premises. While the restaurant itself has a pleasant aesthetic and intriguing concept effective management is essential to bring these elements together successfully. Unfortunately none of us will be returning.

We came here for the Valentine’s Day dinner. While the atmosphere was nice, there were several things that missed the mark. My husband and I are big foodies — we enjoy fine dining and love trying new places — so we were really looking forward to this experience. Our waitress started off friendly, but once it was time for a second drink, she disappeared. She rarely checked on us unless we had finished a course, which made the service feel inattentive. The menu advertised the dinner as $79, so the additional $20 upcharge for a filet felt excessive and not clearly communicated. We’ve eaten at many upscale restaurants and found this surprising, especially given the overall experience. Unfortunately, both of our main courses arrived cold. I had the pork, which was cold and dry, and overall the dishes felt very lackluster. When dessert came out, we honestly laughed — the cake portion was extremely small, almost as if it were leftovers rather than a proper serving. We weren’t expecting huge portions, but this felt unreasonable. In the end, none of the food really stood out, and we left feeling like we had wasted our money. We also noticed other guests around us looking surprised when their bills arrived, which made us feel we weren’t alone in our experience.

Visited for lunch on a Wednesday. Food was pretty good, but way overpriced for lunch. My boyfriend and I waited over 45 minutes for our food. Other tables came in way after us and received their food way before we did. He waited over 10 minutes for a simple tea refill. After getting ready to just get up and walk out while waiting for our sandwiches for over 45 minutes; we were finally told by someone (not our waiter) that our order had been messed up and the kitchen never received our ticket. We were told that it wasn't the waiter's fault and were offered nothing, absolutely nothing for the extremely long sandwich wait other than an excuse. The table next to us gave up on asking for takeout boxes that they had asked the waiter for repeatedly. It was busy to be fair, but the terrible service and lack of any kind of acknowledgment of their errors make this a bad choice in Orange. Was an expensive lunch to wait an hour for all while sitting next to dirty tables that were not bused the entire time we were there.

We went to Forked On Main back in late November for a birthday dinner, we had a quite a large party, and only 1 server to our table. Service was horrible & we were there for quite a few hours (3). As a result of bad service & issues with our food (cold) , we were given a gift card for compensation $75 ( on an $900 table ) Fast forward , We go in today June 3rd With our card , hoping with just two of us we’d have a better experience. This time food was great and our server was great too . Unfortunately as we went to use our gift card we found out that it was no longer valid. Apparently there was new ownership although it was the exact same name , Even the same manger There was nothing online stating this or nothing at the entrance or any other place in the establishment that gave you the heads up. So obviously we paid but it almost left us with yet another issue at this place. We get our receipt, tip 30% because again, the food and service was ok. We receive a gift card for $25. Mind you the card look exactly the same Same print , same name , same address for store, and website. We aren’t picky people and this is the second review for food we’ve left in general on Google . Needless to say I don’t think we’re going back. I guess our look on this is if you go to a fine dining restaurant you should have superior service and experience, we did not.

We went in for dinner, the food came out more than an hour after we ordered it. It was over done and the waiter kept mixing up our order. During the wait for the food the staff did not check on us unless we signaled for them to come over. Then when the food arrived it was overcooked and cold. An unpleasant experience at best.

I got “Forked”! I was part of a group of 6 with a reservation. Four of our group ordered mixed drinks and myself and one other ordered a club soda with lime. After waiting roughly 20 minutes for their mixed drinks, I never received my Club Soda. Eventually after roughly 25 minutes I got my drink. THEN, I asked about the spinach salad and requested they substitute a different lettuce which they did accommodate. HOWEVER, I added salmon to my salad. When the plate was delivered to the table…. No salmon. The waitress said sorry she forgot to add the salmon to the order. I requested that she correct her mistake and put a salmon order in. She said it would take 15 minutes. (Everyone already had their meals.) I said that’s too long and asked to add the chicken or shrimp. Nope, also would take 15 minutes (keep in mind this is all because she forgot to order my salmon). Since the problem was her error, minimally, I would expect her to make it right. But, no, she only said there was nothing else she could do. I could not believe every answer was “no” I can’t do that. I left hungry and annoyed.

The waitress and food was great. The host was not. I’ve never experienced such prejudice at a restaurant before until my experience at Forked on Main. I’ve gone to higher end and more upscale restaurant and not once was I judged like how the host judged me and my husband. When we walked in the first thing he said was “look at the menu first are you fine with it?” in a rude and disrespectful tone. I don’t know if he was trying to imply that the food was too expensive for us or that since we’re Hispanic we only eat tacos. The way he spoke to us did not sit right with me.

My husband and I made reservations and dinner last night. We were both so excited to finally be making it back, our first time was in 2019. Our experience started off fine, ordered a bottle of wine and appetizer and the bread, which came out in a reasonable amount of time. To start this horrible experience of the night.... The bread was so horrible, the corn bread was so dense and dry it reminded me of eating a bag of corn flour, the "whipped honey ricotta" as it states on the menu, was the consistency of watered down yogurt, needed a spoon to put it on the bread, I was hoping the other type of bread would have been good but it was almost as bad as the cornbread, dense, hard and very dry. While we were trying not to dry choke on our bread, our server came to the table to take our order for the main course, we ordered, told her the temperature of the duck (med rare).... Fast forward AN HOUR and we still haven't got our food or even seen our server.... So the bartender comes over and asks if we are going to order dinner or if we just want another bottle of wine... My husband and I look at each other very confused, and told her that we put our order in over an hour ago... Well come to find out this didn't in fact actually happen.... We should have just paid for what we had and left but decided to wait it out.... So our food finally comes out and to say we were both disappointed is a huge understatement....I ordered the shrimp scampi risotto, to start the shrimp was very under cooked, still that uncooked gray color, the white wine sauce, was so thin I don't think you could call it a sauce.... It was rice in a white wine soup.... Now I love wine but the sauce tastes as if the wine was directly pour into the "sauce" a second before it being served, it wasn't cooked down and that was the only thing I could taste... It over powered the whole dish. I tried to take a few bites, but then I couldn't eat anymore. My husband ordered the duck, which he ate all of because he was so hungry... The sides for his dish were basically non existent.... And very under cooked, he said it tasted like a hard uncooked potato, and we counted maybe 10 green peas on the plate. Now we would have told our server these concerns but she never came back to the table not once, until it was time to bring the check (never asked if we needed anything, how things were.... Nothing) When she brought the check I was completely shocked to see the price.... Almost $150 for one of the WORST dining experiences and food to date.... No effort was made to try and correct any mistakes of forgetting to order our food, the almost 2 hours of sitting before getting our meal.... Not even a comped bread basket (which is only $5)nope we paid for everything and a horrible experience, no apologies from her, no manger sent to the table.... Nothing.... We definitely will not be back and it's sad because we live right in Orange and would love a local place to eat at frequently but Forked on Main will sadly not be this place.

Let me start off by saying that the food was AMAZING! I gave one start because we waited almost 40 minutes for a dessert. Apple crisp with ice cream. The apples were undercooked, but the flavor was alright if you can look past that. My entire group has experience in the restaurant industry. Cooking, bussing, serving, etc. We get it... usually. But none of us can rationalize any explanation for a dessert taking that long. Even if our server forgot to ring in the order, we asked three different times about our dessert. We were about to ask to have it striked off the bill, just so we could leave. But we kept being reassured that it was coming out right now, one more minute, etc. Truth be told, this is the only time that I have ever tipped less than 20% to my server. She was a nice person but she didn't check on us very often. The busboy brought out all of our food and pre-bussed our table completely. She spent almost the entire duration of our 2 hour dine time chitchatting with a guy at the bar. Like I said, we have all worked the industry. We usually are understanding. But this was just not up to par. Great food, but the service and insane wait times ruined it for us. Edit: Please be aware that there is state tax, then an ADDITIONAL Orange City tax of (I believe) 8.5%. I understand that the restaurant has no control over tax, but I was shocked to see almost $20 in taxes added to our bill.

DO NOT GO HERE! What an awful experience- my local B&B host thought this might be a good recommendation for me to host my friends for my birthday dinner/ holiday dinner before our departure from Orange. I exchanged 27 * TWENTY SEVEN* messages with the owner, Stephanie, on the menu, the set up, payment etc. - it was HORRIBLE! This is the email I sent to her after our experience, was AWFUL! I do not know what is worse, the fact that you embarrassed XX on such an unbelievable level or that you royally screwed me, my time, my money, my desire to show my friends an extraordinary evening- you should be ashamed on all levels. So much for the comfy couch private-like experience, you did not even have our table set up upon our arrival. We had to wait for " 2 tables to be put together" Your staff handed us menus- why? I had pre- arranged a defined menu with you ( 27 messages on this) We sat at the table for 8 minutes before anyone even offered us water, you only had 4 other tables in the entire restaurant being serviced. Then we were asked if we wanted anything to drink, AGAIN this was PRE-ARRANGED WITH YOU! Despite endless messages about having a celiac person in the group, you did NOTHING to ensure their safety in eating the food suggested. ONLY after almost finishing our soup did your waitress notify us that there was in fact FLOUR in the soup. WHY WHY WHY?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shame on you. You literally risked someone's life. Then to make it worse, your waitress had nothing else to offer my friend. She literally handed her a menu and told her to pick something out herself AND THEN had the audacity to tell me from ACROSS the table that I would need to pay for anything different. WHAT??????????????????????????? - insert raging anger at this point. And if that is not bad enough, the same waitress also told me in front of all of my friends that I would still need to pay for 6 people despite there only being 5 of us. HOW MANY TIMES DID I ASK YOU IN OUR 27 MESSAGE EXCHANGE THAT I WANTED THIS BILL TO BE SETTLED WITHOUT ANY OF MY FRIENDS KNOWING?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOO MANY, and yet that was not just ignored but every penny of the cost was discussed out loud by your waitress. AND then the Celiac person chooses brussel sprouts, it is noted as being Gluten Free and yet your waitress tells her she cannot guarantee that there is not cross contamination. WHAT? How did you manage to get a business license really? Apparently you are in the business of potentially killing someone. WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SHAME ON YOU and how dare you treat a fellow small business who went out of their way to recommend you, in such a manner.

I'm sorry, this is going to appear mean, it is, but truth sometimes helps growth. I truly am offering an honest opinion after over 45 years serving food throughout the country. 1. Shrimp should never be overcooked! 2. Grits should always be creamy! Skillet fried sweet 🌽 dumped over ball of grits topped with overcooked shrimp drizzled with way to much browned butter. All on top of a clump of fresh spinach, odd. Not complimentary to the dry grits. Avacado BLT one word GARLIC to the point of bitter. Bread is delicious but inedible as a sandwich, tough crust, diced tomatoes, avacado slices and 2 strips of bacon is impossible to eat. Try it, you cannot cut the crust of the bread, the diced tomatoes go everywhere, so you can not hold the slippery avacado tomatoes as sandwich. Try biting through it if you do get it up. No pun intended. I was really looking forward to eating here, 3 years ago my daughter loved it. I know the last 12 months of catastrophic economic malpractice has decimated our businesses, as well as putting 70 percent of the service employees on vacation, but if we're in the service business we need to meet that need!

My sister and I had a very dissapointing birthday meal. The Reuban had dark meat(freezer burn ?)on it and was barely grilled. It fell apart when I tried to eat it. I sent it back! Replacement had a boring tossed salad with brown on the bibb lettuce edges! My sister had shrimp and grits and was dissapointed to see 4 shrimp! Dessert was an apple compote with a dallop of Carmel. My sister couldn't even eat it. It was literally chopped hard apples with apple SKIN GARNISH.She sent it back. UNEDIBLE. My chocolate dessert was excellent though not homemade. Service was exceptional We weren't compensated one penny for uneaten, inedible food. Service was exceptional. Extremely dissapointed compared to 2 yrs ago when food was FABULOUS!!

I ordered the Shrimp Scampi Risotto. The presentation was excellent as well as the creamy sauce but I was somewhat disappointed there wasn't much Risotto. It was almost more like a soup. Unfortunately I couldn't give the restaurant a higher rating, especially after having a disagreement with the manager. We walked in around 6:30pm and we were seated in the dining room. I noticed a "happy hour" drink special that ended at 7pm. I specifically asked the young lady filling our water glasses (who I thought was our waitress) if I can order the happy hour drinks in the dining room and she said "yes, absolutely!" She relayed my drink order to my waitress. When I got the bill I noticed it was full price. I asked my waitress and she wasn't sure why it came up full price, so she went to see the manager. The manager explained that the happy hour specials only are for the bar side of the restaurant and would not adjust the bill. We explained that we asked before ordering and were told that we can order those drink specials and the menu placard did not say "bar area only". The manager shutdown the disagreement by using the "I may be rude and unaccomodating, but I'm from New York" excuse.

I would not suggest booking this caterer. There were so many issues regarding this company. But to summarize. The guest sat there waiting for well over the agreed service time. Food did not come out in a timely manner. All of the food came out cold, and there was not enough for each table with some of the dishes. The timing of the food coming out is not considered as the staff were trying to serve the bride and groom during speeches and for the price that was paid the expectation was impeccable service and that was a big flop. If you tell this caterer your budget, please make sure that includes EVERYTHING because of their deceitful behavior they DOUBLED the cost of a budget that was originally told to them that was verbally agreed upon. So please make sure if you do use this company that you get everything written down. It was an incredibly disappointing experience. *edit after their response* The reason she had to have her spouse step in and take over was the fact the she received an invoice from you double what she told you her budget was and she didn’t want to lose catering for her event out of anger which is understandable because I wouldn’t have been able to hold my tongue if you had done this to me. The whole reason she stopped communicating with you was because you deceivingly and knowingly blindsided her with a doubled price for her wedding that was two weeks away. And honestly it looks like she isn’t the only person that has had communication complaints with you. This seems to be an ongoing issues so instead of blaming everyone else why don’t you take some accountability?!? I never said in my review that food was discarded. I said there wasn’t enough… and maybe there was 50lbs of Asparagus but that clearly wasn’t enough for the event. Of course none of the 50 pounds were returned bc there wasn’t wnoygh further proving our piont. As many of us has stated. Which is again, a failure on your part to deliver and be prepared.

Went in to order a lunch that our team won at work. Was quickly denied service because I did not have a physical card. Not impressed.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Communication was poor from the start and my overall budget was mistakenly recorded as food only. I paid my full budget for food, then was charged additional service fees, front of house fees, taxes, a credit card fee, and a china rental fee, which pushed the total to roughly double my budget. Despite multiple timeline adjustments, dinner arrived late, cold, and overcooked, with missing dishes and almost no leftovers. The risotto was mushy, pasta cold and overly spicy, potatoes undercooked, steak overcooked, chicken soggy, and portions of asparagus insufficient. The experience was stressful, disappointing, and unprofessional. I do not recommend. **Response to your Response* Thank you for the reply. I need to correct several inaccuracies and address the unprofessional choice to air private details. My first caterer withdrew because the chef resigned from the restaurant that they worked at, and they didn't have another one to replace him at the time. That fact is documented. It had nothing to do with my planning or budget. I raised concerns when I signed with you five months before the event. I did not agree to the later add ons in your itemized receipt. I never asked for any discount at any time. I have time stamped emails that also show you replied many days and sometimes weeks after my messages. You suggested I cancel only three weeks before the wedding. The contract at that point required payment of one hundred percent and it would have been impossible to secure a new caterer that late. Presenting that as a real option is not reasonable. I have an email from the venue stating they would send you the floor plan. I accept that I should have followed up to confirm receipt. And as for dinnerware and to go trays I provided: Cups, silverware (with extras), plates, and togo containers and was charged a ridiculous amount of money to "rent" serving bowls and serving spoons which I also offered to supply to cut costs but it was you who refused. It is not a simple overcharge of a few hundred dollars I gave you a budget of $5,000-$6,000 overall and YOU stated you can keep me in that budget and it was YOU who suggested that it was feasible to have the upgrades. YOU charged me a final bill of $10,500 and locked me into a contract that would have made it more difficult to get out of. My options were to fight the contract lose, still pay the 10 grand plus court cost or get stuck in litigation and find another caterer? This was never about the money and having to pay because I was fortunate enough to be blessed with financial competency, it was the fact that you felt the need to take advantage of someone who was not familiar or knowledgeable about catering expectations. Your response shifts blame and avoids accountability for how this was handled. That speaks to professionalism. Every guest was entitled to clear communication and competent coordination, which your restaurant clearly lacks.

I was the MOH at a wedding this weekend that was catered by Forked on Main, and it was already upsetting to find out planning was difficult with this caterer but worse to see firsthand the caterer’s handling of the event itself. From the start, communication with them about catering was inconsistent and confusing. The bride provided an overall budget, but somewhere along the way it was mistakenly treated as the food-only budget. (I am not sure how that makes sense)By the time the caterer presented the final invoice — shortly before the wedding — the total had nearly doubled her original budget. At that point, with no adequate time to replan, she had no choice but to accept it. What made the situation worse was that the business owner was someone she personally knew and had trusted to do right by her. During the reception, things started to become confused with catering and events for guests. The food service was uncoordinated and repeatedly delayed, throwing off the event timeline and forcing the bride to make decision on re-adjusting the timelines once information was available on when the food would be brought out. Some guests even believe the apps were the meal and were disappointed thinking there was so little to eat. The delays caused younger guests to miss some of the formal portions of the evening, and several tables were left waiting for dishes that never arrived. As bridesmaids, we stepped in checking on issues that came to our attention — coordinating with servers, checking on tables, and trying to keep things moving — but it was clear the catering staff was disorganized. The food quality was another major disappointment. Many dishes arrived cold or overcooked. Portions were uneven, and some guests didn’t receive full servings of what was on the menu. The risotto was mushy, the steak was overdone, the breaded chicken was soggy, and even the pasta and potatoes were poorly prepared. At tables of eight, there were barely enough asparagus for everyone to get one. When she went to pack up leftovers at the end of the night, there was only a single tray remaining — even though large portions of food had clearly gone uneaten, suggesting much of it was discarded instead of saved. What stood out most to me, though, was that the bride, who had put so much into planning, couldn’t enjoy her day as much as she should have been able to. I understand that some issues can arise and as bridesmaids we were assigned to handle the inconvenience but the overall amount of issues forced a need for her to adjust everything. Despite all of it, she remained composed and gracious, but no bride should have to spend her wedding day managing damage control. As someone who was there from start to finish, I can say with confidence that this was an incredibly disappointing and unprofessional experience. The lack of transparency, organization, and respect for the client’s trust was unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering this caterer to think very carefully before booking — the stress and outcome simply aren’t worth the risk.

No espere bares ruidosos o clubes nocturnos.
