In the heart of Orizaba, Tortas Mellado offers the traveler and local original dishes, drinks and sweets. There café con leche, is one -of-a-kind in the area. You determine how much coffee and how much milk you want, and the milk is brought in fresh everyday from a local milk farmer, you can taste the difference. Their house salsa is also a family trade secret and the ice cream is made fresh by the wife of the original owner, Mr. Mellado. You can enjoy breakfast now too at an affordable price. There Trenzas, enfrijoladas and tostadas are among my favorite items. The food is fresh, the place is clean, and you have an assortment of drinks to choose from. Some times they are so busy, that it may take a while to get service, but the atmosphere and the food and drinks almost make you say, it was worth it!

Fair prices, a typical place to stop for lunch if you're visiting downtown Orizaba. It's usually not as crowded during the week. Overall, the place is good, and the dishes are tasty as well. I highly recommend it.

The food is delicious, and ice cream is the house specialty. But the service is terrible. The staff barely wants to serve you, and that's a shame. But the place is very pretty, it seems like it's stuck in time.

There's quite a variety of dishes, and the waters are very good, but the service is perhaps a bit slow—well, maybe—and I'm used to everything being done very quickly in the city. It's in a very interesting location, and for a quick snack and to satisfy hunger, it lives up to expectations. Great place!

There was no food or drinks. We ordered, and the person who served us came back three times to cancel our order. We had to leave because there was nothing but one or two things that we didn't like.

The service is terrible. The women who work there are always grumpy and angry. We asked for a cup of milk and they refused to sell it to us. They made a mistake with the bill and tried to charge us for an extra piece of toast and a cake. Not recommended at all.

Where do we start... 1. The staff is terrible; it seems like they're doing you a favor by serving you. 2. The food is terrible. You'd better eat at OXXO, and the prices are high for what they offer. They make terrible coffee with milk. Don't ever order the revolcadas or the tacos dorados in super-burnt oil! And the media noche is even worse. P.S. If you live or visit Orizaba, this establishment is not an option; go to El Atacado!
