Sofrito Latin Cafe is a popular spot for Latin cuisine, known for its generous portions and reasonable prices. Customers rave about the authentic flavors and friendly staff, especially mentioning Miguel, the photographer. It's a fast-casual style restaurant with a lively atmosphere.
Tip: If you're unfamiliar with the menu, let the hostess pick for you – you won't be disappointed!
Everything about this place is amazing. I wish I lived closer because I would be a regular! We tried several things on our visits there while in town and I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite. The food, coffee and staff are all top notch!
I stopped at this place in Orlando for the first time, mostly because it stood out in an area packed with hotels and chain restaurants. It felt different, so I decided to give it a try. Great decision. The place is very clean, spacious, and welcoming. It has a casual vibe, almost a mix between fast casual and sit-down dining. Not upscale, but comfortable and relaxed. It smells amazing when you walk in, which is always a good sign. There is plenty of parking since it is located in a busy plaza, and seating was also plentiful. What truly stood out was the staff. I was immediately greeted by the manager, Gladys, who was incredibly attentive and helpful. The place was extremely busy because of the holiday, yet she was completely on top of everything. Total professional. I sat at the bar and was quickly taken care of by Isabel, who was an absolute delight. Friendly, efficient, and welcoming. Even with the crowd, the entire team seemed organized and calm, which says a lot about management. The food came out on time and was delicious. The prices were fair, and the coffee was honestly to die for. I am actually disappointed that I am leaving town, because I would have definitely gone back again before heading home. Overall, this is a place worth visiting if you are in the area. Great food, strong leadership, and a staff that clearly cares. Completely impressed and pleasantly surprised.
Absolutely loved this place! The food was amazing, the servers were incredibly friendly, and everything was very well priced for the quality. The manager was walking around doing table touches, which really stood out and made the experience feel personal. We were even offered to have our photo taken by a photographer and shared with us — such a nice touch. The way this restaurant is run is truly impressive. As a restaurant manager myself, I really appreciate seeing things done right from the other side. Such a great find — we’ll definitely be back!
Order at the counter, self seating and get ready to have your senses blown away!! The favors and the smells were absolutely amazing! My Uber driver recommended it last year when I was here for a convention, but didn’t have time to go, so made sure I went this time around! So glad we came!
The food was great and there were many options both large and small portions. There are a few vegetarian options. It is a counter service restaurant so you place your order at a kiosk or with a person at the counter. Then you are given a number and you find a table and the food is brought to your table. I always feel a bit frustrated when asked for a tip on a self service kiosk and I have not gotten any service yet. Don't expect a follow-up on drinks or desserts, you have to go back to the counter and order. There is seating inside and on a patio outside. There are large group tables so it would be a good place for a larger group. Oddly, there was a professional photographer going around offering to take photos as well.
This may have been one of the best meals I've ever had in Florida! I ordered the Tripleta Sandwich, which was absolutely loaded with meat (Steak, Roast Pork, and Ham) and veggies (Lettuce and Tomato), with mayo-ketchup. Also ordered was the Fried Yuca, which came with Garlic-Cilantro Mojo. There is a 100% chance that I will be telling all my friends who visit Orlando to make a stop at this restaurant. I only wish I would have dined in over doing a carry out order!! 5 Stars for Sure!
Great food and great service— the value was good for the the portions! I randomly stumbled upon this place since I was staying at a hotel nearby and I was impressed with the variety and attention.
Absolutely delicious and I love coming here whenever I’m in town. Their roast pork is so flavorful.
This was our go to breakfast spot on vacation! We loved it here, delicious, friendly, clean. This place was great!
Fantastic, flavorful food!! Huge portions and fresh, delicious ingredients at a great price. Had lunch there with my mom. She got the sandwich that is on the sweet plantain and I got the shredded pork with 3 sides. Everything was amazing. And we took home half for another meal. We don’t have a microwave in the hotel but the food was so great that we even enjoyed it cold. Can’t wait to go there a few more times before heading home to Indiana where I will miss it for life!!
Had such a great experience we came back the next nite. This is kind of fast foodish, order when you enter and you get a number to put on your table and then come deliver your food. Being unfamiliar with the food selections we let the hostess pick for us and were not disappointed. We did Cuban the 1st night and came back to try something Venezuelan and both where delicious. The outdoor patio was just what these Ohio winter natives needed. Next trip we will be back.
Best breakfast Churrasco you’ll find in Orlando! Great quality for the price. Beats a fancy restaurant! So good I even tipped the cook. But if they change the price cause of my review they’d be doing me a disservice lol. Yesterday, I ate simple chicken and rice for dinner & it was also delicious. They’ve got cooks with some good temp control. It’s not very common for a place this busy to get temp control right. If you go & order the Churrasco, respond to this and let me know how they did. I’ll also post updates.
Me and my family wanted a rest day after 5 days straight of dawn to dusk Theme park visiting. We were curious about the restaurant down the road from our hotel, and it would be an understatement to say we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of food we were given, along with the attentiveness of the servers. 100% would recommend to anybody looking for a hearty meal that will keep you satiated for nearly the whole day. A fair price for a phenomenal meal that quite literally tastes just as good, if not better than their menu photos look. Many thanks for the great meal for our second to last day here, Sofrito!
For quite a few years now, when we come to Orlando, we end up having a nice dinner... And sometimes lunch too at this great place. They serve a variety of South American specialties and trust me, they are all good! This time my wife got the Peruvian chicken and I got the Cuban shredded pork. Both entries came with three sides! I got some delicious fried yuka, boiled yuka and fried plantains . The bork was delicious, nicely spiced but not too hot. Both yuka were well cooked and very flavored in their different ways. I should mention that the portions were very generous, so we got quality and quantity. My wife's chicken was very well cooked too and she got yuka too so all was very good. The price was very reasonable and everyone working there was very friendly. A great experience once again, that's why we keep coming back.
I was looking for a hot meal at a reasonable price in the vacation capital of Florida! I would say this is a fast casual style restaurant - you order at the counter when you walk in, seat yourself, and they bring you food. I ordered the chicken soup and it was amazing! Seemed to be house made broth, flavorful, good amount of chicken in it. And it was served really really hot! I hate it when I get soup that isn’t quite hot, so I was happy with this one. I think I’m going back today and get it again. They also had empanadas, arepas, and other Latin food that looked good.
Great local place with a twist on fast casual dining. They have a bar, they have a beautiful dining area, and they have a covered patio right where you can sit outside. Order at the counter just inside on the left. They'll bring the food and drinks out to you. At least that was my experience. I included a picture of my meal on this review. When it comes to describing just how good it was words fail me. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The yellow rice has unique spices that I haven't tasted before. I had a side of the aoli sauce to go with the chicken. Again, great choice. I'm only in town for a few days and the group I'm with is staying at the Gaylord. And while that place has so many wonderful places to eat, I am really glad that I had this first evening all to myself so I could get out and about and enjoy something local. A great placeIf you just want to grab a bite, it's also a wonderful place if you've got a big group. Fair prices, I'm not aware of any discounts that they have available. The restaurant is very clean.
If you’re looking for a spot in Orlando that truly captures the heart and soul of Latin cuisine, look no further than Sofrito Latin Café. We come here regularly, and every visit feels like a comforting, home-cooked meal when we are away from home. The absolute standout for us is the Sancocho (rich, hearty, and packed with deep, authentic flavors). It’s the kind of dish that warms your soul, no matter the weather. But honestly, everything on the menu is fantastic. From the perfectly seasoned meats to the fresh arepas and empanadas, every bite delivers. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who always make us feel welcome. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a meal, the experience never disappoints. If you’re in Orlando and craving real Latin comfort food, Sofrito Latin Café is the place to go. Highly recommended!
Great food, croquetas were not up to par but the manager quickly took care of it! Estefanía took some really cute pictures of us and she was kind and friendly ☺️
Overall, the food was very tasty. We ordered churrasco, grilled chicken breast, empanadas, and fried yuca, and the flavors were excellent. The grilled chicken breast was especially delicious. However, there are a few important areas that need improvement. Some dishes that should be served hot—such as the churrasco, empanadas, and fried yuca—were unfortunately served cold. The empanadas and yuca were very cold from the first order, which takes away from the experience when you expect hot food. Lastly, the photos taken at the restaurant were too dark and unclear. This is not about camera quality, but simply better lighting or using flash. We purchased the photos to support the business, but they should be clearer.
Relatively fast service compared to most places. The food was well seasoned and fully cooked. The restaurant takes photos of customers; however, they do not send them digitally to the customer to “protect the privacy of the client” (even if the client gives permission to release their own photos). Therefore, the media aspect was extremely weird. Overall, 4 star experience.
The food was ok, I liked the drinks and atmosphere. You pay at counter and they bring your food. They made two errors to our order and the server was rude about it…when our receipt showed what we ordered word for word. 1 thing they didn’t bring the other they made it wrong both easy fixes. A simple sorry and fix it wld have been great but … instead we got the attitude. 🤔
A few years ago Sofrito would’ve been a 5/5, however their roasted pork entree has gone up in price and the salad has been removed from being included in the meal. This once was one of the best value Latin meals in the area, but with the recent changes my admiration for Sofrito has diminished. The food is still top notch & their happy hour drinks are only $5, strong & pair well with the cuisine. Please consider adding the salad back into the meal, thanks! Also try their hot sauce it’s incredible.
Not being local this restaurant threw me off a little. We were a party of 5 and were told we could order and pay up front, or get table service. Well, when someone was told to take our order at the table, he balked! I speak Spanish and understood that he didn't want to give us table service. I explained to my non Spanish speaking companions that we would need to order and pay upfront. In addition, there aren't any prices on the menus you get handed. Getting past that confusion, we ordered and were served some of the best Latin American food and drinks we've ever tasted. It was beautifully presented and just delicious. I'm sorry we didnt have room for dessert. Even the child that was with us said "I've GOT to tell my parents about this place!"
Great cafe with def a 4 stars food and great service. The place is vey clean and spacious. They offer in and outdoor seating. Some dishes are large, so you might end up sharing. The parking seems to be ok, since there is plenty in the area. The best feature is the price. This is Disney area, but here you can eat good and not break your budget. It’s a sure shot, so come and try it. I am local so Def recommending this place to family and friends.
It’s ok if you’re not Spanish and don’t know what to expect. Otherwise you’ll be disappointed. Also, the portions are decent if you’re not an adult or very hungry. More like an American take on Spanish food. Dry, bland and just ok. I went when there was about seven or eight people there and my one meal still took twenty minutes like it wasn’t already cooked and prepared. I give this place a “Meh”
The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, including the bathroom. The vibe is pleasant, but unfortunately, the most important factor—the food—was disappointing. I’ve been to many Cuban and Latin restaurants, and based on that experience, this sandwich and soup do not belong on the menu of a Cuban restaurant. The sandwich is not authentic at all, and the chicken soup was overly salty.
This was my favorite place in Orlando for years. Unfortunately I was disappointed on my last visit. The food here used to be so fresh and you could tell they made everything in house. On my last visit though I had the Chicken Milanese, which looked just as fresh as I remembered on the photo on the kiosk, but showed up looking more like a Tyson Chicken Patty. This looked and tasted like a frozen patty they dropped in the deep fryer. Unfortunately I won’t be returning with their quality going down.
