Definitely not the type of place I'd normally choose. But they did have something Id like to eat. The mini burgers were delicious and they give you a generous helping of French fries. I was surprised that for Florida, they didn't have sweet tea pre-prepared. Each glass was mixed up by one of the bartenders.

Vmale sure you validate your parking!! It’s $53 for two hours self park if you don’t. Food was good. Jerk Chicken ($13) was decent. Chicken tenders were great ($12). Tres Leches cake was epic ($14) and shareable. Hotel is nice. The restaurant is inside but really well huge ceilings and lodge like decor with a great terrace with lagoon views. Enojiyed it

Whenever I come to Universal I always stop in at Strong Water. They have some of the best food options on property. I just beg you to never get rid of the pork belly tacos and bring back the sliced ahi tuna dish with the melons and plaintain chips. That was my absolute favorite! The new tuna tartar is okay but bring back the old one, it was so good! The ambiance is a lot of fun. It's a very nice bar and they do have live music on the weekends. It's a full service bar but they're known for their rum forward drinks. Highly recommend this spot unless your bartender is Christian. He is very argumentative, combative, makes mediocre drinks, and is down right nasty w guests who challenge him.

My wife and I love this place. I love rum, and the bartenders make great cocktails. Sattina is a great bartender, she made up a drink for me on the fly and it was incredible. I’ll definitely be making it at home. Solid Mai Tai as well. Great vibes and awesome to have in our own hotel.

We ate at Strong Water three of the five nights we stayed at Loews Sapphire Falls. The ropa vieja was our go-to dish. If you go, ask to sit in Inae's section. She is a true gem, and a big reason we kept returning. She had excellent food and drink recommendations, prompt service, and a great attitude.

We came here for dinner with family and Chris from Maryland was our waiter. He was very informative about the menu and the service was exceptional. We will be back again.

I was hesitate visiting here because of the few bad reviews. I am so glad we went! The food was absolutely delicious. I suggest ordering a couple different options - you won’t be disappointed! We ordered a lot and loved it all. There wasn’t a single thing we didn’t enjoy. Try the ham & cheese roll up and the jerk chicken with coconut rice! Amazing. The server was very friendly and great! Everything came out fast. Wasn’t very busy. Highly recommend! We will be going back.

This place was amazing! The atmosphere is very relaxing. The food and drinks were delicious! I had the Rum Revivals. It’s a popular choice and I see why. We enjoyed the grilled octopus, tequenos, jerk chicken, and empanadas. The treats leches cake was huge and could easily feed four people. Highly recommend you making a reservation here. There is a small kids menu as well.

If there was 6/5 I would. At very least for the service. Dani was superb: attentive, helpful and not overbearing. Her advice was solid and she would expertly probe into what we want. The pace of the restaurant is great - they bring the first portion quick so you won't feel hangry and then slowly space out so you would have time for a good conversation. Last but not least - the food quality is superb.

All around perfect experience. From the service to the food itself, it was fantastic! The menu is tapas style, so I recommend getting at least 2 plates per person. There are tons of options and it spans from different styles of food — Puerto Rico, Cuban, etc. — which is really cool if you’re into trying new things! I recommend the goat dish if you like lamb and similar meats.

Strong Water Tavern is located inside the "Sapphire Falls" resort at Universal. Once you enter the lobby, continue straight back, and you will see the check-in desk. We arrived before our reservation and were seated immediately. This restaurant is tapas style, so small plates to share. We tried the arroz con Pollo, jerk chicken, black Angus beef sliders, beefsteak empanadas, and chicken tenders. Each dish tasted delicious, and we had zero complaints.

We ate here twice on a recent visit to Universal Orlando and had an exceptional experience on both occasions. Arguably the best food and service at the resort, and we’ve eaten almost everywhere over the years. Location is fantastic, and it has a lovely terrace overlooking the water. The menu is excellent. A great selection of interesting tapas style plates and fantastic drinks. Over the two visits we ordered many different plates and not a single one disappointed. The star dish from our perspective was the Curry Goat which we ordered on both evenings - absolutely delicious. The camarones and the grilled octopus were other highlights. The drinks were also lovely and very generous pours. We were served by Kathleen on both visits and she was fantastic. Perfect service and lovely to chat to. On our second visit she introduced us to Chef Carlos after we told how much we enjoyed the curry goat, and he was charming too. We’re already looking forward to returning on our next visit to Universal. It’s really not to be missed and now ranks amongst our favourite dining locations at the resort.

One of the best hotel restaurants we have visited! Incredible service with great food and drinks as well. Sat down at the bar for a bottle of Belle Glos. Our server Destin was fantastic and was extremely attentive throughout our entire visit. The atmosphere here is great with plenty of views throughout the dining room. We ordered the charcuterie board as an appetizer and felt that it was a bit small for the price and the meats provided were quite small portions as well. The cheeses, espresso beans, nuts and other parts were fantastic, though. For dinner, we ordered the arroz con pollo, choripan and pork pupusas. We absolutely loved everything we ordered and highly recommend everything! The only thing to keep in mind is that the choripan is more of a dip-style entree where you build your own choripan with bread provided. Be sure to order the churro bowl for dessert! It absolutely did not disappoint. It came with a dulce de leche ice cream, but I do think the cafe con leche ice cream they have would pair nicely with this! The guava and cheese pastries were a bit light on the guava and cheese so I would skip these. Highly recommend stopping by for a drink, incredible food and some of the best service!

We finally found the best bar at Universal. Worth whatever tram, boat, bus or Uber you take! Do yourself a favor and go to the Strong Water Tavern. The atmosphere was very casual yet sophisticated at the same time? The service was top notch. We had a Rum Captain, Anthony, show us through a flight of high end Rums. He was just the right balance of knowledgeable and friendly. The live music was so well done, not too loud but so talented. We are already planning another trip just to stay at the hotel so we can spend another night at this amazing Restaurant!! Can’t wait to try some more rums.

J

Very cool atmosphere! The staff is very knowledgeable about the drinks! I really didnt realize there was so much about rum that I didn't know! Aileen makes a great drink! We had the Mai tai (under "potents" on the menu). Nice and potent! 😀 Cheers!!! Sat at the bar, no wait.

Resorts pools and amenities were pleasant all around the Universal Properties. Strong Water Tavern blew it out of the park. Great atmosphere, curated cocktail menu, phenomenal food and exceptional service from Demi. Sometimes resort food can leave a lot to be desired and every dish was a home run. Definitely check out the Shrimp camarones del Ajillo and Surf and Turf Pinchos

Service was wonderful, food was delightful and cocktails were lovely. The jerk chicken fell right off the bone, my husband can't stop talking about the pork pupusas and I'm dreaming about the next time I can have the Caribbean ceviche! Our favorite cocktail was the Last Typhoon!

Highly recommend. Food was delicious! We ordered the Jerk Chicken, Grilled Octopus, Guava BBQ Pork, Shrimp ceviche, and Coquito Cheesecake. Our waiter - Angelo was very welcoming and helpful. Our Rum Captain - Anthony was very knowledgable from cocktails to the history of rum recommendations. Overall great experience!

Strong Water Tavern is a hidden gem. The staff is fantastic! Kathleen greeted us with a smile and enthusiastically took pictures for us. Michael, our bartender, served up smooth rum Old Fashions. Todd, our waiter, was like an old friend who had us over for dinner. We shared the pork belly tacos, camarones al ajillo, and black angus beef sliders. All were delicious! We are local and will definitely be back!

Christmas get away. This is an excellent, relaxing, can be intimate tavern. Kathleen, is by far one of the most delightful servers we have had in a long time. Her outstanding knowledge of the menu really helps with some amazing choices. Top notch rum bar!! All the bartenders have come up with special rum drinks of their own. Anthony, came over and gave us the history behind his drink, the Rum Lore. Absolutely stunning drink. But, it goes deeper with the history he tells behind it. The cheese plate was made by, Chef Ana. She precede to come out and explained how each portion complemented each other and the order to eat them to get the full flavor effect...WOW! It was all so incredible! We started our vacation here and the perfect way to end it was to come back for a farewell drink and meal. You are very well taken care of from beginning to end. You will have a great dining experience! Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and treat yourselves to a very different wonderful relaxing evening. Thank you to Kathleen for making this a vacation we will always remember!

By the 3rd day at the resort in Orlando, we were tired of eating burgers, fries, pizza, ect... And didn't want to go wait at City Walk again for much of the same with an even bigger prize and poor service. So we decided to try something new and made a reservation at The Strong Water Tavern in Lowe's Sapphire Falls Resort. This place is our new favorite! Wait staff was amazing. Our waitress, HILLARY, was so kind and considerate. We never felt rushed or had to ask for refills. Atmosphere was kool and everything we got off the menu was delicious. We were very surprised. Mango Salmon Ceviche, Curry goat, Short Rib Huarache, Churro Bowl for dessert! So yummy! I was also very impressed with their Rum versions of an Old Fashioned and Long Island Iced tea. Very smooth and interesting flavors. We will be back!

Food was amazing. The special they had that day was incredible, plantain filled with meat and cheese, pork belly tacos and empanadas were delicious too. Great ambiance, good drinks, the servers were exceptional, Sharon and Hilary were wonderful. Recommend to everyone!

We stopped here on a whim after returning to the hotel from a long day at the park. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was beyond excellent. The tacos were ridiculously good and the ham cheese thing (not sure what it was called) was one of my favorite bites the entire trip. The selection of drinks were very impressive and and I wish we had the time to return so I could try more. The one I had was delicious.

My wife and I had an amazing experience at Strong Water Tavern! Our bartender, Shannon, was absolutely fantastic — quick, funny, and incredibly easy to talk to. She made us feel welcome right away and kept great conversation going while making sure our drinks were perfect and always full. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does, and that energy made the whole experience even better. We left feeling like we’d just hung out with a friend instead of just stopping for a few drinks. The atmosphere was already great, but Shannon really made it memorable for us. Highly recommend stopping by and asking for her if you get the chance!

My husband and I had her first trip down to Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios. We went to Strong Water Tavern for dinner and then went back again for drinks, because our server Elizabeth had an amazing wealth of knowledge regarding rum. I have never liked rum. However, she found a rum that I absolutely loved, and we went back to sample more based on her knowledge. The food was a fantastic tapas style that we enjoyed sampling. But… I can not say enough about how friendly, engaging and welcoming the staff are!!

J
Jacqueline Pennington-Gilbert

We had a first class experience with Manny at the Strong Water Tavern. The cocktails were excellent and the food is some of the best we have had in Florida. Everything tasted fresh and we enjoyed everything about our experience! We will definitely return on our next trip 😊

Delicious food and service! Mike was great and very knowledgeable about the menu and preparation of the exquisite Grilled Octopus! Curry Chicken was excellent also! Tres Leches and Rum Raisin Bread Pudding were delicious! Boat ride back to City Walk very relaxing! Manager Aaron was very nice. Live Spanish music set a relaxing atmosphere!

I had the pleasure to try the food and drinks at Strong Water Tavern in December 2022. Kathleen is a very attentive server and made great suggestions. Tapas were portioned well. The Ropa Vieja was very flavorful and I had it with a side of coconut rice. The Grilled Octopus was delightful; It was cooked perfectly! And the Banana Bread Pudding dessert was huge! It was served with a delicious rum raisin ice cream. The vibe was relaxing. I saw families dine here as well as some conference goers get a drink or a bite or two. There is indoor and outdoor seating. If you plan to stay at Sapphire Falls or plan to visit Universal Resorts, definitely consider Strong Water Tavern.

Christhian serve me and my party drinks before heading into the theme parks and he had superb suggestions. I asked for the sweetest drink on the menu and he made me something off menu that was perfect! Everyone here was friendly and I loved the atmosphere. I will definitely be back. Thank you Christhian for the amazing drink!

Will follow back but, TLDR: Come and eat, come and drink, Todd is awesome Food: - Had the griot after not seeing any pictures. Delicious. Don’t sleep on their plantains. The “burnt” ends had such a rich sweetness to them. And the pork, just falling away at the end of a fork. The chimichurri was delicious. The oil had the right amount of heat and you could scale up -Tequenos. Other reviews were spot on, but had to highlight the texture. It was like a chicken cordon bleu without the chicken. Which sounds odd but the texture of the cheese was just right. Chewy without being squishy and the sauce was phenomenal. A hint of ham so it felt filling -banana bread pudding. Yes. Ice cream. Best. Buy twice. Price breakdown: 2x drinks, 2x meals, 1x dessert. Total = $75

The bartender was OUTSTANDING. One of the best servers/bartenders I’ve ever had. I can’t remember his name but he was Puerto Rican and such a good dude. The food was very good. LOVED the tostada.

The food and crafted drinks were amazing. Portions are not too big and every bite was delectable. Maggie, our server, was so nice and offered good descriptions of the food and recommended foods lived up to her review. Desserts were just as great and recommend the banana bread pudding with ice cream !!

I have to give the biggest shoutout to the staff at this bar for making my birthday weekend unforgettable! Shannen was absolutely incredible! he took the best care of me and my friends every time we came in. Her drink recommendations were on point, and she made the whole experience so fun by chatting with us and making us feel welcome. I went to compliment her to the manager and the manager was just as kind and amazing. The whole staff truly went above and beyond but Shannen was my girl! We came back multiple times during our stay because of how great they made us feel and every visit was perfect. Thank you Shannen (and the amazing manager) for making my birthday the best ever! Y’all seriously know how to make some amazing drinks and even better memories!

Been coming here for years - consistently one of the best bars/restaurants on resort property with amazing tropical cocktails and food. On my most recent visit they upped it a notch with an amazing piece of hospitality by Shannen. Truly blew me away and turned an otherwise difficult day completely around. Thanks also to Cristhian for the rum knowledge and kind service as always.

We had a wonderful time . Our waiter Chris was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was working on his birthday but yet he gave us time like we were the only guests in the restaurant. The food was excellent. We will definitely recommend this restaurant.

Loved eating a late night dinner with drinks outside on the deck. The blackberry daiquiri is divine! The empanadas were absolutely delicious! Our sever was the same gentleman both evenings we went and he was fantastic. From the food, to cocktails, to staff, I highly recommend this place.

Great date night! Drinks & dishes were delicious! Service from Hilary was on point, she explained different options since it was our first time here! The live singer was the cherry on top, she sang very well!!! Great ending to a wonderful stay at the Sapphire Resort! I will return for the Churro Bowl with Dulce de Leche ice cream! 🫶🏽

Grilled Octopus, beef sliders and Ropa Vieja all good. But grilled octopus is the best I had in a while. If you like rum definitely try their $20 rum tasting, it is not bad at all. You have option pick 3. Tres leches is huge compared to tapas.

We always enjoy coming here when we stay at Sapphire Falls. The Caribbean food is delicious and they have a whole vegan/vegetarian menu. You have to ask for it though so if you are looking for vegan/vegetarian options be sure to ask them for the menu!

Great Food, this places has a small menu, but they have different choices for cultures like Jamaican, Havana, US, Mexican…. I tried a Havana meal and I loved it. If your ever in the hotel stop by and get a meal…10/10 recommend.

We were in Florida for several days and I ended up here every day trying something for dinner. There were so many people that made our experience amazing but the person that made the experience extra special was Sanchez. Fantastic recommendations and the drink that he recommended was amazing. (Just ask for the Sanchez) Wonderful food (Diana at the ceviche bar) and atmosphere with the deck (even with the heat) was amazing. I will definitely be returning.

We were blown away by the food, drinks, service and atmosphere. Definitely a gem at universal. Best food on the grounds hands down. We would absolutely visit again!

Words alone don't do this place justice. The cocktails are great, staff absolutely amazing, atmosphere is just out of this world. But let me tell you there Tres Leches Cake is out of this world. If you try anything it has to be that... and it is massive I mean huge. It took 3 of us to tackle it and we still couldn't defeat it. But oh my what a delicious loss. My absolute favorite here without a doubt. I'd kiss the chef if I could that's how good this cake was.....

J
Jonathan Ulrich

One of the best theme park associated restaurants with a huge selection of rum related drinks. The food is flavorful Caribbean items, but higher end. Jerk chicken was excellent as was the BBQ guava pork. Possibly for the holiday season only, they have a coquito cheesecake. It's awesome. In Florida coquito is a staple around the holidays. The full menu is back and then some.

C
Corinne Wilschke

Demi was an absolute star of a server - quite possibly one of the best I ever had (period)! She made me feel so special, was super knowledgeable about the different rum offerings, and attended to our table so well! We all left absolutely stunned by our experience and would recommend this place (and Demi) to everyone!! We would love to go with a rum captain next time; Liz stopped by our table and she was also so awesome!! Definitely a birthday I will remember forever! Thanks ladies!!

Strong Water Tavern: A Caribbean Delight at Lowe's Sapphire Falls Resort Strong Water Tavern at Lowe's Sapphire Falls Resort offers a delightful escape with its unique Caribbean-inspired menu and vibrant atmosphere. During my recent visit, I opted for the Short Rib Huarache, and it was a fantastic choice. The flavors were rich and authentic, with tender short rib perfectly complemented by the tangy pickled onions. It was a truly satisfying and memorable dish. Beyond the delicious food, the service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

My first time and won’t be my last! Enrique & Sattina my bartenders were simply exquisite! They made my first time a delight! They both were very knowledgeable not only on the Spirits but also the wine selection as-well! The food selection was a fresh breath of air! I highly suggest a nice bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon “Justin” - perfect pair would be the Octopus! Overall a 10/10 experience!

Had a nice late night food and drinks while enjoying US open tennis live. Tasty Pork Belly Tacos and Arroz con Pollo. Draft beers are great. Nice service.

DON PAELLA CATERING (Don Paella Catering)

Located at the Loews Sapphire Falls. I have eaten here twice. I recently visited with my wife and two kids. We love the food here. They offer a pretty wide variety of items. Their menu is comprised of Caribbean style tapas. I really like this concept as it allows you to try several dishes. We find that is reasonably priced and the service was good. We are going to be staying at this resort again next week and will definitely be coming by to eat at The Strong Water Tarvern. If you have a chance visit it, you'll also fall in love with it. I will post some pictures of the food and try to mention by memory the name on the menu. Grilled Octopus Curry Goat Beef Sliders Pork Belly Tacos Tequeños Beef Empanadas Dessert: Tres Leches (it's huge) Everything was delicious, nicely garnish, presentation is great. The only item we weren't big fan of was the Empanadas. The Grilled Octopus and Curry Goat were my personal favorites, my wife liked the Tequeños and the Tacos, so I'm sure there will be something to please everyone at your table.

Such a cool spot inside Sapphire Falls - the vibe was relaxed and very "island". Being a rum house, I had to try a signature cocktail and the server was knowledge and recommended the perfect one based on my likes. The curry goat was delicious!!! And was also recommended by our server. Tapas was a great way to go after being out in the heat all day.

Fabulous bar that is part of the Sapphire Falls resort. Specialises in Rum based drinks and Caribbean food served in a tapas style. The food is excellent, the drinks are excellent and our server, Shannon, was wonderful. The food is reasonably priced, however, the drinks are expensive. Especially the cocktails.

B

My partner and I came in for drinks and had the chance to meet the best bartender, Shannen. The service and drinks were wonderful! Would highly recommend the last Typhoon! Shannen made our night incredible and will definitely be back to see her!

We had dinner here on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 and were very impressed. The two of us shared the Tequeños (ham and cheese in puff pastry) and the Griot (pork, plantains, and chimichurri) and we each orderd a drink; Milk Punch and a non-alcoholic Rum Revival. Everything was excellent. The food was prepared perfectly and each dishes components made for exciting bites. The plantains served with the Griot were among the best I have ever had, and the chimichurri that accompanied the dish was addictive. Both drinks were phenomenal and we would happily order them again. Sometimes it is difficult to get a tasty non-alcoholic beverage other than soda, but the bartenders made a wonderful version of the Rum Revival without the Rum. The place has a laid back feel and it would be easy to hang out here for hours. Highly recommend this restaurant for hotel guests and anyone looking for a different menu with great drinks.

My wife and I love this restaurant! It’s a must each visit. This is a bit outside the ordinary burger or pasta dishes. So if you enjoy Latin/Caribbean based dishes then this is a winner. The curry goat with coconut rice and banana bread pudding are personal favorites

The food was good but I was mainly impresses by the service. My daughter accidentally dropped my glass of wine over my leg and chair and our waiter was so nice, she managed to get out food to go really fast and cleaned as much as she could. I will be back!

Great place to eat. Tapas style menu is well priced and can easily satisfy as a main meal if you don't want a huge meal. Highly recommend the goat curry with a side of rice and the banana bread pudding. Drink menu is massive.

This was our fourth visit to Strong Water Tavern. The food is always fantastic and the service is outstanding! You must remember that this establishment serves Tapas, not full-sized meals. The goal is to order several things from different parts of the world and share. On this visit, we had the Grilled Octopus and the Jerked Chicken. The Octopus was cooked perfectly with the right amount of char. The Jerk Chicken was seasoned with the right amount of spices and the meat was very juicy. (I'm married to a Jamaican woman so I know what I'm talking about.) Our waitress, Demi, was out of this world! She was very attentive and we didn't have to wait for anything. I highly recommend Strong Water Tavern. They are top-notch!

Very pleasant experience at Strongwater after a day at the parks. The service was phenomenal, huge shoutout to Angel, our server. He knew everything about the rum list, the dishes, the history, just a great all around experience. Food was great and the drinks were varied and all original takes on classic cocktails. Would highly recommend even if not staying on the property.

J

It’s amazing! idk why it has such low reviews. The food taste amazing!!! The Hispanic taste is phenomenal!!! Please try it ignore the negative reviews. The food taste is worth it I promise you. The portions are small they aren’t huge so you can try multiple plates. The plantain with beef is my number 1 I believe it’s their Puerto Rican dish. Have reservations especially on holidays.

C
Corey Comegys

This is probably one of my favorite hotel restaurants. The drinks were great and so was the food. Skip the beer and wine here, have one of their rum cocktails. We actually went here twice during our stay. Would probably say to stay away from the kids cheese quesadia. The other kids items were good. The other restaurant downstairs in this hotel was disappointing.

What an amazing experience! My wife and I came in for a honeymoon dinner on Saturday January 31. First of all the atmosphere is just beautiful-and cozy too for such a cold Flordia night. We had such an increible time from the start. The manager was very pleasant and accomdated us. Our experience continued with a phenomenal waiter, Sanchez. It is so refreshing to have such wonderful staff, passionate and knowledgeable about the menu, able to offer recommendations that really enhanced our experience. He was attentive and pleasant, an incredible asset to the team at Strong Water Tavern. Furthermore, the food was incredible, perfect portions and full of flavour. The cocktails were also a delight, and the attention to detail was magnificent. We will be back! Cheers!

This was touted as one of the better restaurants at the park and I enjoyed the experience. To start the drinks... Had the Pilar Noir and Old Fashioned. The Pilar Noir was decent, it was like a muted espresso martini... AKA smooth instead of a touch bitter like normal. The Old Fashioned was decent too, it's sweetened by a fireball (cinnamon) syrup or liqueur. I thought this was a bit overpowering and took away from the rum base. The food, I tried Ropa Vieja and Loma Saltado. The Ropa was a little bland for me, needed a big of some mild heat or an extra layer that was missing, but overall still not bad. The Loma Saltado was so good. Great flavor, great spices. The server was also really good too. Forgot the name but started with an I and a shorter name. Anyways, she was fun and very helpful with suggestions, took her time. It was refreshing to see that kind of service, which seems rarer to see these days. Overall, I'd suggest trying this place out if you're looking to eat on site.

experience! Incredible food and top-tier service "I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! The huge selection of dishes on the menu is impressive — there is something for everyone. Everything we ordered was extraordinarily delicious; the flavors were just perfect. And don’t even get me started on the desserts... they were absolutely divine! However, what truly set this place apart was the exceptional service. The staff was incredibly attentive, welcoming, and professional. It’s rare to find such high-quality service these days, and it made our evening truly special. If you’re looking for a great atmosphere and amazing food, this is the place to be. We will definitely be back!

The open seating area was scenic. Could see the universal resort area, the canal and the man-made waterfall from the top. That was a beautiful experience. Coming to the food, the vegetarian options were too less. But, the options available there tasted good, especially their vegetable hot pot and Curry veggies were delicious among the vegetarian food. In the non veg options, we loved Chicken tenders with steak fries, Goat Curry were top notch. Jerk Chicken was below our expectations as we find it to be just the grilled chicken. In the desserts, Mexican Chocolate Cake was good, and Tres Leches was passable. We had to wait for more than an hour to get our orders on the table. But, what a service! The server was pretty friendly and attentive to the order. We couldn't find the non alcohol drinks. Upon request, he got us Virgin Mojitos and they were great. Overall, one happening experience.

Nice nice! Tapas? What I got a couple of dishes and ofcourse a rum cocktail - Caribbean Ceviche - this was overall very good, I like the bottom layer of mofongo that was warm. Complimented the ceviche. I was surprised that the mofongo had meat in it which was not pointed out on the menu - Curry Goat - quite an interesting take on the jamaican curry goat I know. Very flavorful and meat falls off the bone. But the meat quality was not as fresh as I expected. The rice in this was also quite interesting, lots of coconut and more sweet... - Jackfruit Ropa Vieja - This was okay. I expected the jackfruit to be more stringy but less jackfruit flavor. There was a bit more jackfruit sour - Jerk Chicken - this was also great. Surprised that it also came with rice. Could lose the rice since it was tapas... maybe add plantain strips. - Last typhoon Rum Cocktail - I love that they use the fruit as sweetener which I could taste, but the amount of alcohol was almost not tasted. Environment Located in the Loewe's hotel, this could be fancy evening dining experience but there was also a lot of more casual, maybe cause of the hotel and also the resort being near. The seating were more on the lounge experience side. Niceness of the staff Very very nice waitress. Made sure I had everything I needed. Explained the concept, I was sold on the cocktail and definitely appreciated it Dollar It was definitely on the more expensive side. The drink was 15$. The goat was 25$ and all other "tapas" were at least 13-15$ per. Can add up pretty quickly Yes Very good environment but I am not sure...Would give them another chance if the opportunity arises but I don't see anything exciting that I would want to return

Good atmosphere. Most of Tapas that we ordered were good. We particularly like the grilled beef on skewer. However, curry goat is way too salty. Could barely taste the spice, instead the salt. Banana pudding taste good..would prefer to tone the sweetness down.

Must try for every rhum fanatic in the area! The atmosphere was amazing and the service top notch. We couldnt have asked for a better experience. Good selection of food with enough variety to please everyone. Prices are what you would expect in a resort and portions are made to share multiple plates. We went back a 2nd time for more rum and their delicious mexican chocolate cake. Although we wouldve enjoyed more information on the various rhums, we would definetly recommend Strong Water Tavern to anyone

Adventurous ingredients that created very unique flavors. It's not something my taste buds are familiar with so not a full 5 star restaurant for me.

4.5 Our first night we ate at strong water tavern for the first time! I heard the Mai Thai was great and strong and both are correct! We all know by now I like a strong drink! The food was great! We got all three items under little Havana: Arroz con pollo(I feel this was my fav dish but also really loved the ropa vieja!) Ropa vieja (got side of rice because it just comes with the meat no rice! Both were yummy!) Camarones al ajillo (wish there was more of a garlic flavor than butter/wine but still very good!) It was our anniversary so we got the tres leche ! The bf loved it! I’m not a huge fan of tres leche but it was still good! Very happy with our first visit!

We went here for a bite and drink. The mixed drinks are very strong. The rum was very strong. It overpowered the drink. We ordered 3 different foods. Jerk chicken, chicken tacos and the beef empenadas. Food was very good and were small portions. If your hungry order extra. The empenadas were barely warm. I thought they were frozen. They weren't baked long enough. Their not fried. I give the food a 4. It was a good meal though.

Located off of the lobby at the Lowe's Sapphire Falls Hotel. The menu has food items listed from places like Mexico, Bahamas, Columbia, US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. The food portions for each entree are considered small plates and the price for each are around $10 to $20. I had the Home-Made Black Angus Beef Sliders and the Camerones Al Ajillo and both were delicious. Chased the food down with a Lemon Drop Martini which was fabulous. The Banana Bread Pudding for dessert was clearly the encore for an exceptional dining experience.

Expensive! Which is fair being on resort property. The portions are small as well. If you're like me though and are looking to save a bit of money I don't recommend eating here. However, the food seems very good and the service is excellent. If you're not worried about money then this is an excellent choice. $7.50 for a beer that's normally $2.50 is not my cup of tea.

We stayed at the neighboring Loews property, Advertura and walked over for drinks and a quick bite to eat after a long day at Islands of Adventure. We were sat within 6 minutes, unfortunately at a table by the door to the patio. A couple of rambunctious children with little to no adult supervision were going in and out of the door. The wind kept blowing out our table candle, but the place was packed so no alternative seating. Alexis was very attentive and knowledgeable. He explained the various rum selections and began our order. I had the Cayman Island Iced tea, and my wife had a red sangria. Both drinks were decent. The real star of the evening was the Cuban Spring roles; roasted pork and ham encased in delicious melted cheese. So good. The Puerto Rican Roasted pork was decent, but the yucca escabeche lacked flavor. Alexis brought me some fresh lime wedges to zest up the salad. The live entertainers were very talented and added a chill vibe.

Good food. Loved the goat curry and Tres leches cake. Lamb shanks was okay. Coconut rice was delicious and drinks were just okay. Great music for New Year eve Party. Balloon 🎈 drop. Great location in the Loews Sapphire Falls resort. Outdoor dining option.

I liked this place! Very interesting with the food sharing size and the countries take on food choices! Awesome bourbon flight! I didn’t like a few of the dishes could be just taste preference but I don’t like cold shrimp so I didn’t like that dish as well as the fish was very fishy tasting…so I definitely don’t like the seafood here… however, I liked the tacos burgers and the kids meals were very yummy too!

Delicious tapas and great atmosphere. We ordered a variety of drinks (beer, cocktails and wine). Highly recommend the margarita, it was not too sweet and a heavy pour. For the meal, we had two orders of the buttermilk chicken tenders (our favorite), mini sliders with French fries, pork belly tacos, chicken and rice, ceviche, and flank steak with a side of rice. Among the three of us, we were able to finish all the tapas! Our server, Nick was decent but not the friendliest (reason for knocking off a star). Will most likely return.

We heard such great reviews of Strong Water Tavern and had to give it a try! This Caribbean themed restaurant has a large drink and tapas style menu. The drinks were a bit pricey but worth it. Couple of our favorite dishes included the empanadas and the Camarones Al Ajillo. Get extra toast/bread for the camarones! It’s fantastic! The server was knowledgeable and attentive. Overall we really liked the experience. Giving this a four-star review because we didn’t enjoy all of the dishes. Next time we’ll get the goat curry which came highly recommended! Pro tip: Make reservations for a quicker dining experience.

Very nice place to eat and have some drinks. The menu consist of small plates or tapas. Everything was pretty good. The pork need it a bit more seasoning. But meat was extremely well cook. Very tender. 4 stars just because of the lack of seasoning on a Caribbean Hispanic food.

The food was delicious. We ordered beef empanadas, curry goat, arroz con pollo, the tuna ceviche, a kids meal and a coquito cheesecake. Our server did inform us that the portions are smaller so she recommended two items to equate to an entree portion. The reason for the one star deduction is the pricing. It’s quite expensive. If you are ok with splurging on the price then I’d definitely recommend.

Update for 2024. Amazing ceviche. They have improved the seafood tostada to have 4 chips instead of one large one. The spicy octopus and grouper ceviche was amazing and the live music was good too. Service was top notch.

Hermoso sitio, ambiente agradable, pero en porciones tan pequeñas que para poder compartir como se debe y tomarse alguna bebida habría que pagar una fortuna. Aún así lo recomiendo ya que la atención es buena y el guitarrista muy bueno !

They try to serve tapas, but the kitchen can’t keep up at 530 on a Sunday. If you wanna be high end and compete you gotta get that service up.

Went to Strong Water Tavern 2 hours before close. The bartenders were already cleaning and seemed to be unaware that they had two more hours in their shift. We were sat at a spot of the bar and were told a server was responsible for that section not the bartenders. That was fine with us. Well, it took 15 mins for anyone to even greet us once we were sat and they asked if we had been helped. Took our order and didn't see them again for another 15mins when we got some water. It took us 20 mins to get a cocktail after the order was placed. At this time it should be noted the restaurant was not busy at all. We were watching the bartenders behind the bar the whole time actively doing nothing as we waited for our drinks. We got our food at a decent time and it was very good. The service is my only complaint and mostly with the bartenders. We finished our food and had been sitting for awhile waiting for someone to stop by to ask for another drink, to go boxes and dessert. After we eventually got our dessert and drink order placed, what appeared to be a manager brought us to go boxes and our dessert. Still waiting on our drinks. Which was one of the signature shots with a soda back. A simple pour. We were about to cancel and just pay when the drinks were brought out and we finally got our check. Overall what I expected to be such a 5 star experience on my birthday, non the less, was overall only met with greatness from the food and whoever the manger guy was. As a server and bartender myself, apologies and communication go along way with your customers. (6/19/2024 was the night) I would eat here again, but not get anything from the bar.

First, I suggest reservations, we were lucky to get a table at all without one. Second, the food is what I would call a medium tapas portion, 2 dishes per person is about right. Third, the fries are not a side dish that comes with the meal (they are $6), the waiter will casually ask what side you want and insinuate it’s part of one of the meals. Our fault for not asking, don’t let them scam you too! As for the food, it was middle of the road. The steak on the surf and turf was good, but the shrimp was undercooked and a bit raw. The shrimp tostada was good and did have a little spicy to it, but nothing crazy. The burger sliders were ok, very salty with lots of onion and the ham and cheese rolls were very good and were the highlight of the meal. Overall, we don’t regret eating here, but it’s also not a place we’d return.

It’s ok, service is slow, dishes are decent, I wouldn’t go outta my way to EAT here. Drinks are a different story, you come here to drink rum, it’s a Caribbean restaurant. All the dishes are tapas, small portions, I don’t think they have full meals here. The Caribbean jerk chicken was very good, but the arroz con pollo was not very good. I think the slow service was the worst part.

JR Walker

Good vibe but the food was so bland. Whoever in charge that sees this please tell the chefs to add seasoning. There's too many reviews of bland food for this restaurant. My surf and turf skewers had no salt whatsoever. The beef tasted like it went from being cut in a cube then thrown right in the grill. Same with the chicken tenders, it just tastes like flour. After spending $100 for 2 people, I wouldn't recommend eating here. I've had better meals at a hospital cafeteria. The drinks were good though.

The Good: We were able to sit on the back terrace and it is great! You get a nice view of the beautiful grounds as well as glimpses of Islands of Adventures from a distance. It’s a great way to end your day. We ordered two cocktails and the Rum Revival was really tasty. The Bad: Our dining experience was poor. Service was extremely slow and our waiter was fairly dismissal about it. He literally came to our table and said one time, “Sorry that the kitchen is slow but there’s really nothing that can be done about it. At least whenever your food gets here it’ll be fresh!” Of course I can understand when a kitchen gets behind, but there comes a point where things get way over the line with a slow kitchen and we were definitely past that point. We ended up having to leave before the remaining food arrived. When I approached our server and told him we would just leave because the food was taking too long, he went to the back for a few minutes — came back out then literally said, “I spoke with my manager and were able to not charge you for those items that didn’t arrive.” Ha! Of course! You never brought it out — Of course you’re not going to charge us… The food that did arrive was pretty poor as well. I had the worst ceviche I’ve ever had in my life (Agua Ceviche). Zero flavor. It tasted like nothing. We also ordered the Camerones al Ajillo. It was also tasteless. The jerk chicken was good - but the problem with these tapas restaurants is that the portion sizes are just so small. Overall thoughts: I’m thinking something must have just been way off with our experience this particular night compared to other reviews. Clearly most people love this place. We just weren’t able to enjoy it like we thought we would when we first sat down.

The restaurant itself is very pretty and the food was ok, however the service from Alexis was awful. He was very unpleasant from the beginning in his attitude however he was no help with food recommendations. We were trying to decide between two dishes and he said both were ‘okay’ and didn’t give any details of which may be better based on what we were looking for. The food is served as small plates and we were two people who wanted to order 5 plates, however he was sure to make a comment and said that was way too much food for two people. That bothered us, however it really irritated us at the end when we had finished eating and he said, well it’s a good thing you didn’t order more because clearly you couldn’t finish it and it was not in a joking tone. Would not recommend just because of the poor service

Must have been about the worst service I've had in an American restaurant. Ages to take orders, just as long for food to arrive, water never refilled, had to waive our water (Angelo) over twice, once he was busy on his phone and watching the match on the big screen. Messed up the card transaction and had to re-do. Needless to say, $0 tip. As a whole for an international hotel, I'm surprised how none of the managers at Sapphire Falls seem to know how overseas cards respond to "holds". I can literally show them the transaction leaving my account on my phone and they say "we haven't taken the money". Their policy of "grabbing" money 😞 in advance on the premise that you'll spend it in the hotel is poor business. All that happens is the customer can't use their budgeted money other than the hotel and if they don't use it, it goes back with the customer. Less money spent in Orlando, less happy customers. Other hotels we stayed at took max $100 and if unused in a few days, refunded. Sapphire took $50 a day in advance, typically $100 a day.

Fun restaurant but can work on their Caribbean food quality, a bit disappointing, especially since Florida is extremely near the Caribbean countries. Let’s hire the correct cooks to produce the correct cuisine?? & Aileen was the rudest bartender I’ve experienced. Let’s have bartenders who like their job?!? Everyone else was extremely pleasant and provided great hospitality.

My husband and I visited Strong Water Tavern after a full day at the parks. We each ordered one drink, and I chose an Old Fashioned. Unfortunately, it took about 40 minutes to receive our drinks. By the time it arrived, the ice cube was half melted and the cocktail was completely watered down. Considering the over $20 price tag, this was disappointing.

L
Lara Talt

Very disappointed in the food all around. The steak skewer has zero flavor. Just meat on a stick. Tuna tartar also no flavor. No soy sauce on it. Looked like an old mayo holding it together. The Jamaican stew. Supposed to come with clams fish shrimp. It did not. Mussels. 1 piece shrimp and lots of mushrooms. And the chicken tenders 😱. Pasty flour fried on chicken. Where is the flavor in this kitchen? I asked for bread for the stew. Took almost 35 minutes and by the time it came the stew was cold. And charged $2 😂. Portions are big for tapas. Now if it was just good food it would be worth it. Drinks are super strong. My husband enjoyed his. Mine tasted like a bar of soap from bath and body works. Our server Angelo also very hard to catch his attention. Disappointed because everything else in this hotel is beautiful. Come for drinks. Stay away from the food.

D
David Vavrinak

The bartender made 15 drinks didn't acknowledge us. Made a cocktail right in front of me then told me no more cocktails tonight. I sat with a friend at a table and then they kicked us out without telling ANY of the other guests. Some communication or acknowledgement even would have been SO appreciated. Terrible service - rude workers - NO THANKS

C
Cara H

Food arrived cold and the portions were poor. Tables around us left unattended with dirty dishes and had to change our chairs upon arrival as they had food on them. Meat tacos only one had meat in, other was stuffed with salad. The vegetable curry arrived cold and lacked vegetables when it was suppose to be warm, this is likely due to the flat plate it is served on. Lack of flavour and variety in the vegetarian dishes which is a shame. Our second visit and sadly it didn't make the cut which is a shame.

F
FOI H

The prices for the amount AND quality of food are insane.. We ordered several different plates, the jack fruit should be on rice, the tostadas are literally 4 tostito chips. The menu has a "vegan" icon on it but then literally no vegan options on the menu. Nothing was impressive at all for a $200 dollar dinner. The drinks were OK. Service was good.
