Avis sur Bone Kettle Pasadena
It was our first time here and the place looked interesting with the menu they offer. The staff was really good and accomodating even if we arrived earlier than our reservation time. The food was really interesting with the asian fusion and inspiration. We love the Ube Gnocchi and would highly recommend to those who wants to try something different. I wish there's more flavor to the Mi Goreng but overall the food is delicious! Would love to come back to try the other dishes!
Plenty of Asian fusion choices on the menu. The service is good and timely. The atmosphere is good and not disruptively loud. My beef is stewed well. Be ready for the service charge fee
Hosted a birthday brunch here for a group of 20 and it was an incredible experience. It was prix fixe menu that I got to tailor and all my friends left incredibly happy with the food. Worth the price and great service and atmosphere as well!
We had a wonderful experience at Bone Kettle for our family dinner! We booked a semi-private space for 18 adults and 5 little ones (all under 3), and from start to finish the staff went above and beyond. With so many kids, it took a while to get everyone settled, but the team never rushed us—they gave us plenty of time before the food started coming out, which was a huge relief. Even as the restaurant got busier later in the evening, we always felt like our group was being taken care of. The fun music in the background even had our toddlers dancing, which made for a joyful atmosphere. The planning process was simple and efficient thanks to Thea, who helped us customize a menu perfectly suited to our group. Bone Kettle provides sample menus, but we loved how flexible they were in letting us mix and match dishes from their regular menu. Everything came out smoothly, right on time, and most importantly—it was all delicious! The small plates and appetizers were true standouts. I also really appreciated the transparency: for large parties there’s a 20% service fee, but the food prices were exactly the same as the regular menu (no hidden markups). At the end of the night I wanted to leave an additional tip for how wonderfully they handled our big group, but the servers and manager kindly declined. That gesture alone spoke volumes about their integrity and hospitality. All in all, Bone Kettle gave us an unforgettable evening—delicious food, amazing service, and a welcoming environment that made our whole family (including the kids) feel at home. Highly recommend for larger gatherings!
Bone Kettle: A Flavor-Packed Gem in Pasadena From the moment we stepped into Bone Kettle, we knew we were in for something special. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance, sleek, modern, and warm with attentive staff who make you feel like a regular even on your first visit. But let’s talk about the food. The star of the show? Their legendary broth slow-simmered for 36 hours, rich, silky, and layered with flavor. Every spoonful feels like a masterclass in depth and technique. Every dish is beautifully plated and thoughtfully prepared, showcasing Southeast Asian flavors with a refined twist. The appetizers are equally impressive, and the craft cocktails hold their own alongside the bold cuisine. Prices are fair for the quality, and portions are satisfying without overwhelming. You can tell the team here takes real pride in their work. Bone Kettle isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience. Highly recommend for date nights, foodies, or anyone who wants to taste something extraordinary in the heart of Pasadena.
Came here for brunch/lunch with a friend. It was my first time visiting, and will definitely be back. The Eggs Benedict plate was one of the best I've ever had (maybe the best - and I would know - eggs benny is one of my fav meals👌)! My friend had the fried shrimp and loco moco.. both also perfection. The drinks and service were also wonderful and kind. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside, but the interier looked nice and modern. Thank you for the great food, and kind, and patient service.
I thought this was just gonna be a fast food restaurant and was surprised that it was a sit down, higher scale spot with Asian/Filipino food, so reservations are recommended. The atmosphere is up there and a great date spot. Now to start off I got the salted egg crispy shrimp and they were phenomenal. Extra crispy and I ate everything but the tail because they were that delicious. I had the beef rendang omelet and it was also very delicious. It was very meaty and hearty which made for a great lunch entree. For dessert the halo halo was a must and it was just as good as it is in the Philippines. Solid customer service and I can’t wait to come back again to try their other menu items because there was a lot I wanted to try. I think the only problem is the parking. Either way, it’s worth the trip. ***update*** I stopped by with a couple of friends and even without a reservation, they were able to accommodate us luckily. We tried the Bone Marrow, oxtail dumplings, sisig, ube gnocchi, lumpia, blue crab toast, beef Thai salad, yellowtail ceviche, Turon dessert, & ube brownie. The bone marrow was excellent, very creamy, buttery and phenomenal on toast. The oxtail dumplings were good, my friends loved them, the sisig was also good, nothing spectacular but I liked it. I’m used to more crispier sisig. Now the ube gnocchi was phenomenal and caught all of us off guard with the tangy hit! We used the sauce on the other dishes. The lumpia was also good. Now the blue crab toast was also fantastic on toast. The beef salad was one of my favorite dishes, tangy, sweet and the beef complimented the whole entree. The yellowtail was good, just like any other raw fish/ceviche style dishes. The Ube brownie was phenomenal along with the turon dessert. I those were complete knockouts. My friends are very picky eaters and they loved pretty much all the dishes! Also a heads up for my party a 20% gratuity charge was already added to the bill. I’d rather choose the tip amount to ensure proper service but even with the mandatory tip their service was excellent.
Of course they're known for their noodle soup, which is beyond divine! You can tell they care about their food. Their brisket isn't super fatty and super tender, the broth rejuvenates your body with collagen and hits the spot. I absolutely love their happy hour which is mon-thurs 430pm-6pm. Highlights are oysters, wings, and fries! Also, took a group of 15 here for brunch (I got the loco moco) and everyone loved it, was a perfect fusion of Asian meets western brunch!
Bone Kettle has been on my list for months so when I came here for Dine LA, I was not disappointed! The food here is heavily influenced by Indonesian food, though I would say it’s more of a fusion kind of food style. I got the braised oxtail bone broth with noodles and the broth was so flavorful and comforting. Great selection of desserts as well. Price point is a bit higher but it was a great dining experience! We made reservations for 8:45 and we were allowed 90 mins of seating despite the restaurant closing at 9 (I believe it’s just last call at 9pm?). Great service, delicious food!
Yummy duck pandan waffle and salted egg shrimp! Rendang omelette was lightly spiced / not as tasty. Noodle soup w chicken was comforting and flavor was on the lighter side too. Service felt a little pushy - kept asking if we were done when we were clearly still working on our food.
We had a great dinner here with friends! The 4 of us got to try many dishes. My favorite dishes were oxtail dumpling and soup with sirloin. Make sure you eat the soup while hot! The other dishes were good but a bit heavy for my taste: cauliflower, bone marrow, carbonara, tofu fries. Service was great at first but we felt forgotten as the place filled up. Didn't save room for dessert but wish I had! Overall great experience but would like to try other restaurants in this price range.
Great service, generous portions, fun cocktails! My favorite was the prawns appetizer 👌🏼The oxtail dumplings were just OK for me but I know it’s a popular dish. Lots of seating on the inside - great for groups. We got hot sitting in the back indoor patio section though they had air conditioning units throughout. Would love to come back to try more dishes!
The service and ambiance were both great. The food is ok, but considering the price (ordered drunken noodles for $19.oo, plus, THERE IS A SURCHARGE OF 12 EXTRA BUCKS FOR ADDING BEEF) is mediocre at best. I know people rave about this place and I'm a 5-review type of dude, but man, for 4 small plates, racking up 132 bucks is a bit unhinged. Other than that, the restrooms are super clean, so I guess you do pay for the atmosphere and experience of the whole thing. I doubt I'll be back, though.
Was so excited to finally try this place! But personally think this place is overrated for the price What we got: garlic noodles w/ crispy prawns, bone marrow, oxtail dumplings, prime top sirloin noodles, drinks (calamansi margarita, mandarin sour) -- would say all dishes were good but none were exceptional. Would get oxtail dumplings and bone marrow if I came back -- both drinks were not very strong? Flavor was just ok. Would pass on the alcohol Ambiance inside was cute, a bit darker and quiet- so could be a romantic place if you're going for a date. Service was just ok, nothing bad but nothing spectacular. Would go again if invited by friends or if someone else wanted to try, but wouldn't pick this place to go on my own. Could get better food/experience for the price point elsewhere
Super disappointed. My friend and I were deciding between Ozawa and The Bone Kettle, and clearly we chose the wrong restaurant. It just wasn’t our thing. The beef patty and the sauce were pretty salty. My friend ordered their signature bone broth, and surprisingly, the noodles were instant noodles😅. Will not come back!!!!
the service was truly abysmal. I did not see my server for at least 15 minutes. that was the first and last time I saw her (when she took my order). My husband and I's cocktail came after the third dish came out...At least they were both delicious, albeit a touch too sweet. The first two dishes we had (beet salad & oxtail dumplings) were great and I was excited for the menu. The third dish (sisig) was extremely disappointing; the flavours were rudimentary at best, and felt thrown together. It felt closer to a dish I would expect at Denny's, not at a highly regarded restaurant. The last dish we ordered, the seafood char kway teow, was just alright. Again, the flavours felt half-baked and were one dimensional. I expected much more developed flavours, simply because I know it's possible. I've had southeast asian cuisine that excels beyond bone kettle, for less money. The food is only alright to good, and it is very expensive for what you get. Would not recommend even trying this restaurant due to the completely unacceptably poor service.
This place has a very particular taste. We usually like anything, but this meal was nowhere near good. We ordered oxtail dumplings, ube gnocchi, bone marrow, and a bone broth ramen with brisket and one with steak. The oxtail dumplings were sour and fell apart when trying to pick them up. We returned it to the kitchen after one bite. This place automatically takes 20% from any table, no matter how many people. Which is great and all but don’t expect them to take food off your bill if you don’t like it because it’s terrible. The gnocchi also had a similar sour taste and the texture of the dish was off. The bone marrow is not worth the hype. The entire dish had no flavor. Maybe we got a bad one but I was assuming there to be SOME kind of taste. It was basically just eating fat that had no flavor. Lastly, the ramen. Where to begin… It was a glorified watered down chicken noodle soup. That’s what the broth tasted like. The noodles were from a packet of ramen, nothing special about it at all. It was served with plastic chopsticks which were not the best for grip. 0/10 do not recommend. This place was more Asian rather than Asian Fusion. It is definitely an acquired taste. We will not be back.
