Avis sur The Old Sasoon Bakery Pasadena
Great place! Very clean and nice ambiance, friendly and patient staff, delicious fulfilling and affordable food. We two had the khachapuri with soujouk (soft bread loaded with cheese and a runny egg), a shableh (cream filling, must try!), a pistachio baklava, a sahlab (thick milkshake). Will go again to try others.
Absolutely delicious Armenian food! So savory and good! The bread on the Turnovers Beorags are AMAZING! So soft, tasty and savory. We got ham and cheese, mushroom and an olive one. Highly recommended to stop in. The prices are cheap and the food is SO good! We ate outside in the sun🌞
Absolutely amazing lunch from here. Tried the kachapuri, soujouk and cheese boreg, za’atar flatbread sandwich, and baklava. All were fantastic. Lady at the front was patient with our questions and helpful and super sweet; felt truly like a family owned place. Best meal we’ve had in the several days we’ve been in Pasadena and 10/10 would go again.
Old Sasoon totally redefines what I thought baklava was. Sweet, nutty, toasted layers of phyllo, perfectly balanced and defined. Dripping with honey, but without any sogginess. I bought 4 and thought I'd take at least 2 to my family, but instead I crushed them all and then immediately bought 8 more. And that's not even mentioning the khachapuri, a boat of crisp, fluffy bread carrying a load of white cheese and extremely runny egg. I opted to add soujouk, which is tender and herbaceous. Great stuff.
Lots of wonderful goodies at this treasure trove including helpful staff. Reminds me of the homemade eats my friend brought back from her home in Greece for me to try. The baklava is wonderful too and they have one whole display case dedicated to a variety of them! Everything I got was delicious, will have to return.
Excellent food, if you are in the area, it should be a must to give it a try! It’s just delicious!! The khachapuri is amazing!
Everything was delicious, fresh, and made-to-order. Very kind people!
The best food and great service. You can even order before for pick up.
My favorite goto for 25 years !!! Fresh tasty 😋 and great family owned bakery cafè
Kept driving by this place and been wanting to try the khachapuri. The food did not disappoint. It was very yummy. Need need to come back and try different meats or veggies.
Amazing breakfast. Get the ajarakan (Georgian) Khachapuri. It’s to die for. Bread made fresh from scratch every morning. You will have pleasant dreams.
The food here is lovely and the service is top notch. I stopped by on the way to work and ordered a khachapuri with soujouk and a spicy cheese roll to go. The patio was lovely, so I ended up starting my breakfast here before leaving and the purveyor came out with hot sauce and napkins after seeing me through the front windows. They are very attentive and informative when I asked questions. The bread is out of this world and the serving sizes are on the larger side. Great stop for a quick on the go breakfast or larger savory orders. Inside is clean and the patio has shade covers.
delicious food and a good atmosphere! The restaurant is very clean and most importantly the food is very fresh👍
We always go here when we are visiting Pasadena. The food is delicious, the service friendly, the prices reasonable, and the atmosphere is casual. They did a recent expansion, creating a larger indoor dining area in addition to several tables outside. Be adventurous! You'll be in for a treat
My husband and I found this amazing place today near our house, its food is delicious, prepared at the moment and the flavor is genuine, the prices are very acceptable and the atmosphere is unique, for breakfast, lunch or something in the afternoon, it surely became our favorite place
I’m in Pasadena for the first time for a conference and I’m always tired, BUT a friend and made an effort to wake up early and walk almost 3 miles to Old Sassoon for breakfast. BEST. IDEA. EVER. Amazing bakery and super lovely people. If you are ever in the area for a conference, vacation, or any reason: make this a stop! I got the Khachapuri with extra veggies, a coffee, and a lovely pistachio baklava. YUMMMMMM!

I’ve grown up coming here and it’s always been the best bakery around. We used to leave school to come and get a manaeesh sandwich and we’ve never been disappointed in the many years me and my family have been coming here. I now live Texas and Old Sasoon is one of my first stops when I visit home to get Khatchapouri, lahmajoun and any of our baked goods. But today was the first time we got to experience Old Sasoon’s whole lamb and let me tell you, it’s the best lamb we’ve ever had…we are all so thankful!! We’ve grown up on lambs for Easter and Christmas and this lamb and Hashweh was absolutely incredible. Shookran Old Sasoon, we will be continuing to tell everyone how amazing our experience was and always has been.
Love Mediterranean food? You have to eat this. So delicious so good… very nice way of serving.
Every time I visit Pasadena, I stop by here. Their food is delicious and hits the spot when you're hungry!
Phenomenal Armenian food. Some of THE best lahmajun I have EVER had! The bread the side dishes the cafe it's all fresh and beautifully presented and clean and just feels like enjoying the best Armenian food in a very rural charming way. Will absolutely be back MERCI SHAAD!
Had the khachapuri and shakshouka. Both were incredible, especially the khachapuri. Service was friendly, the restaurant had spacious indoor and outdoor seating, and the area was clean and well-designed. Feels like a hidden gem for those who haven’t had the chance to try the pastries and dishes of the region (Georgian, and/or possibly Lebanese or Armenian). According to a poster, the owners are James Beard semifinalists too. Easy street parking.
