Avis sur Bistro Laurent Paso Robles
Very quaint establishment with excellent European ambiance. Tremendous wine selections. The mushroom-stuffed ravioli was one of the best dishes I've ever tasted in my life. Creamy, rich, and decadent. Escargot in the shells were perfectly seasoned with bright herbs and melted butter. Mussels delightfully flavorful with shallot and white wine. Attentive and engaged servers and staff. This place is incredible. I will definitely return!
My wife and I had an amazing dinner at BL Brasserie this evening. On our last night in Paso Robles, we were looking for something light and delicious. We were not disappointed! The smoked salmon appetizer with crème fraîche was fantastic! Top notch smoked salmon! We also loved the warm potato and goat cheese salad. The pasta dish had amazingly fresh tomatoes and perfectly done pasta. Macarons for dessert were perfect and the wine list was great. Our waiter was wonderful, and our water glasses were constantly refilled. I wish I could give BL Brasserie 6 stars! We will definitely be back!!
Found this amazing Gem on a corner of downtown Paso. Stumbled in just for a quick bit and ended up cancelling our other dinner plans. The service was exquisite!!! The wine, the oysters , the quail was breath taking. The quail was so delicate, crispy and covered in a sauce I can only describe as savory Carmel. The beef tartare. Oh the beef tartare!!!!! Can’t wait to come back to Paso and spend many more nights at their 4 person bar.
Really lovely French bistro. Service and food were impeccable. The filet was particularly delicious — great cut of meat and fantastic peppercorn sauce. We’ll be back
Went for lunch. Everything is pretty good. Classic simple French food with fresh materials. I really like the onion soup one of the best but their beet salad is average. Very short lunch menu and not many people when we arrived Friday. Services are attentive. We will be back in the future.
An amazing experience at BL Brasserie! We had just arrived in Paso Robles after a long drive from Healdsburg—and needless to say, I was hangry. We wandered around downtown Paso looking for something that sounded good, but nothing was hitting the mark. On our way back to the car, feeling a little defeated, we passed by BL Brasserie, glanced at the menu, and kept walking. But the smells coming from the restaurant literally stopped me in my tracks—they drew me back in. We were seated immediately and warmly greeted by multiple people. It feels like they work as a team rather than assigning one specific server, which made the service feel seamless and attentive. Marc is an absolute gem—his lovely French accent made it feel like we were dining in a charming Parisian bistro. He offered thoughtful recommendations, and everything we tried was spot on. The burrata salad was fresh, and the burrata itself was outstanding. The salad was a bit overdressed, but that didn’t stop us from devouring it. I ordered the crispy risotto with crab and shrimp—so good! My husband had the gnocchi and thoroughly enjoyed it. And the beignets—oh my. We already love beignets, but these were next level with a surprise apple crème filling. The soft pastry and light cream inside made every bite a delightful surprise. If you're in Paso Robles, don’t hesitate to add this wonderful spot to your list. You won’t be disappointed!
Absolutely fantastic restaurant! The food and service are both off the charts. Reservations required and recommend booking well in advance. The wine list is impeccable and expansive, and Marc the host is incredibly knowledgeable with recommendations based on food ordered. The escargot and oysters were great on our last visit, as were the peach Melba and rice pudding desserts. Dinner specials rotate and haven't had a bad one yet.
Traditional french bistro. Boulliabase lunch had a nice broth, salmon, mussels, and vegetables in it. Servers were attentive and managed our large multi-table group well. Parking was free immediately outside around the town square. Good wine list and shop/club immediately next door. Call for reservations.
I've been waiting to try this place for quite some time, so I'm glad we finally got the chance to be able to get in! It comes highly recommended! And the service is amazing, one of the best wine selections around, and everything was cooked to perfection! The cools know what they ate doing, especially Fernando! He did a great job. Overall, experience was amazing we will be back soon if your thinking about think no longer just do it!
It was VERY DELICIOUS ! I would definitely recommend this place if you want to try a really delicious food. Do not expect huge portions, do not expect cheap vines, but you can expect a high quality evening. Or lunch. It’s not a Michelin type of serving, it’s just a nice ambient, great chief and food!
This place is authentic French cuisine! From the foi gras to the entrees, it was just amazing taste and freshness plus cooked perfectly! The wine list is awesome!! C'est magnifique!!
Great food and the staff is amazing !! Hope, our server, was so wonderful and attentive. ♡ The Crab and Avocado Salad was not as I initially expected and I was delighted with the creative twist! *Must have!* Raspberry Clafoutis was so fresh and I am not usually a big sweets person but this was so delicious I will be ordering this again. Would be great with a coffee too! Lamb was perfectly cooked as we ordered it.
Our second visit here was as good as the first. We enjoyed our first visit on the patio but it was a little warm for Al fresco dining this time. But the dining room is a great space, full of fun French aperitif and theatre posters and wooden wine crate panels. I totally forgot to photograph our dishes, but we had a great dinner of escargot, mussels, hanger steak with red wine sauce, and frites.
BL Brasserie is a true delight, and my recent visit was nothing short of a pleasant experience. The atmosphere seamlessly complements the culinary journey, creating a setting that enhances the overall dining pleasure. The chef’s menu is a testament to their culinary prowess, offering a range of enticing options that promise a memorable gastronomic adventure. Accompanied by a group of six, we were graciously accommodated, and the hospitality extended to us was nothing short of delightful. Having the opportunity to sample a variety of dishes, each one consistently lived up to its promise of delight. BL Brasserie is more than a restaurant; it’s an embodiment of quality service paired with exquisite food. Whether you’re planning a romantic date night or simply seeking a place where quality service meets exceptional cuisine, BL Brasserie is the answer. My recommendation echoes the satisfaction that echoed through our group – a resounding endorsement for those who appreciate not just a meal, but an elevated dining experience.
Everything was delicious. Service was great and Chef was happy. Wine list great. Only issue was they used blue crab and not Dungeness. We will definitely return!

Great French dining experience. The food was very flavorful and the service was excellent. I’ll come back for more.

My wife and I stopped in for Lunch on the recommendation from Tyler the amazing winemaker/owner of Paco wines. (A absolute must). We were asking for recommendations for lunch and he recommended BL Brasserie. Wade our service was very enjoyable and had some amazing recommendations. The oysters and crab avocado salad were the best! We didn’t realize they were open for lunch. Very thankful and great community of wonderful people.

Very traditional restaurant. Neither bad nor great, mainly appealing to fans of the genre. We tried the chicken and the black cod. The chicken was moist and great flavors. The cod was seared skin on, but the skin was not crispy. The creame brulee at the end was great.
We were fortunate to secure a last-minute table at BL Brasserie, and we were grateful for their accommodation. I was particularly excited to find quail on the menu, while my partner couldn't wait to dig into the Mussels with French Fries. The quail arrived, and although the meat was tender and delicate, there was a significant disappointment in terms of flavor. It had been coated in an overly sweet honey glaze that tasted overly candied. I ended up trimming off the small drums, but the thighs and wings were too sweet to enjoy. Surprisingly, the substantial portion left on my plate went unaddressed by the staff, which struck me as odd. My partner's mussel dish seemed diluted, resulting in a broth with a thin, buttery appearance devoid of flavor—a significant letdown in our opinion. However, the saving grace of our dinner was the crispy crab risotto with prawn. They kindly split our plate for sharing, and every bite was truly delightful. Additionally, the fries were a highlight, impeccably prepared, fresh, and with a homemade taste. Despite some misses, the meal had its moments of excellence. 🍽️🦀🍟
We came here in a whim. The last time we were in Paso Robles, they had no availability, so we had high expectations. We came in around 6:30 and the restaurant was empty, but they said they had room for us even though the restaurant was mostly booked up for the evening. Our server came by promptly and gave us our water and bread. We started off with the egg mimosas ( deviled eggs), very good, not amazing but good. Then DH ordered the quail and I ordered the tried and true mussels with fries. We also ordered the crispy crab risotto to share. The quail came and was very tender and juicy, but unfortunately was super sweet, not a savory note there at all. It was like a dessert 😟. My Mussels were good as well as the fries, but unfortunately the white wine sauce tasted bland like dish water with a hint of onions and butter, what a shame. We were very sad about our dinner choices until the crispy crab risotto came. AMAZING and it totally redeemed our dinner. The risotto was shaped into a crispy round and was accompanied with 3 shrimp for each of us. The risotto was shaped like a round hashbrown and tasted wonderfully. The shrimp were well cooked and sauce looked rich, but was well balanced! This was the high point of our dinner!!!! The service was very good and we were well taken care of. Stop by here and have the crispy crab risotto in between your tastings!! By the time we left, the restaurant was packed!
Delicious food! Steak was a little over cooked for medium rare, but still tasty. French onion soup was good, but I have had better. Husband's gnocchi was uninteresting, but good. Ambience is nice. I would definitely go back and try some of the other dishes if in the area.
