Me and my family come here quite often, its clean and the smoke management system works well so you can cook your food without too much hassle. We love the food and the atmosphere, service can sometimes lack a little, (i.e. drinks empty for a long time) but its normally because they're understaffed and very busy which is understandable. Yummy food!

Lunch is the time to go! Service was great and everything came out so quickly. The bulgogi and pork belly were standouts! And definitely get 1-2 orders of the rice paper and radish paper! Yum!

What a great date night! We were greeted with a smile and had great food and great service from beginning to end! Ask for Dylan, he was very attentive. I can’t decide what was my favorite, the ribeye? The premium chadol? The chicken? It was all so good! I never thought I’d say, honey please pass the steak scissors.

Emilio sorry if I butchered it, but He was a great server. My bsf and I came in 3 hours before closing. The food was great, seats were comfortable, very calm atmosphere, and talked to our server before we left. I advised this place to make sure the servers know their regulars I think it would make them happy because as customers we remember our servers:)

$19 for weekday lunch except Fridays. $30 for dinner and weekends. Good value! You can add $20 to get premium meats.

I thought that 30 dollars per person wasn't bad especially because of how much meat you can eat. I didn't get premium so the price was quite good because there are so many different meat options. Our server Caleb, was really nice and fast with his service, I appreciated how accommodating he was to our orders. We ate so much meat for such a good price. We had a 7 person party and he did very well to serve us. And made sure we had everything, and checked up on us, a lot. Overall a pleasant experience, although I might not be able to eat meat for a while.

Outstanding food, great atmosphere, love the blue lighting! The pork was great, but then I had the chicken and it was better, but then I had the beef and it was better!! The flavor, the tenderness, the juiciness! So amazing! Can't wait to go back! Server said he'd be back to help cook our chicken, but he didn't come back, so we had blackened chicken. Lol. It was our first time there. Food is a little pricey, but well worth it! Great am biance and perfect for a date night! Comfortable seating

This is one of the coolest restaurants in the Austin area. It's all you can eat meats that you cook yourself right in the middle of the table. Very reasonably priced for what you get. The atmosphere and service are great too!

Good prices, good food. Need to come back here again. Glad I worked out before coming here. Weekends, the lunch menu is only during weekdays. Even so, the dinner menu was worth it.

I enjoy coming to Gen BBQ in pflugerville, service is efficient, food is fresh and my waiter Terek was amazing made me laugh and serviced me and my spouse great. I totally recommend

Overall for the I think it's worth it to dine here. The price is great, especially for the Austin area. Food food was great, the service was okay, nothing too special or welcoming. But overall 9/10. Highly recommend.

We went during off peak hours- the service and food was impeccable. We appreciate Emilio and the rest of the staff for making our experience wonderful!

I recommend going on the weekdays (Mon-Thur) for the $20 lunch (11AM - 3PM). It is less crowded and there is less wait time for your meats/drinks/apps to be brought out. Weekends gets incredibly crowded and service becomes sporadic with the experience is vastly different between the two. 5/5 stars weekdays, 2/5 stars weekends. The meats are good and I HIGHLY recommend getting the Honey Soy Beef. It blows away any of the other options on the menu with our group ordering over 10+ plates everytime. Garlic Pork Belly and Hawaiian Beef is also good. If you want something alchoholic, the Apple Soju is always a treat. TLDR, go on the weekdays for lunch (11AM - 3PM) and get the Honey Soy Beef and some Rice. Trust me, you won't regret it. P.S. Michael is a phenomenal waiter.

I came in late today like 30 min before close. Caleb, the host was super nice and friendly, and told me not to worry about that they we’re gonna take care of me no matter what. It was just me and he still gave me a little bit of a bigger table just so I could have my space. My server Dylan, was super nice and attentive took great care of me gave me. He checked in couple of times even though he was doing closing duties so I really appreciated it. I didn’t feel rushed in any way. Everybody was super nice. They gave me great recommendations for food. I recommend everybody coming in whenever they have a chance. Other places might have the same food, but not the same service. The only bad thing that I have to say is that they didn’t make fun of me for wearing a cow onesie to a restaurant at 10:30 PM 🤣. If I saw somebody coming in like me, I would’ve made fun of them no matter what.

I went here on a Sunday night and had a really good experience overall. They have a wide selection of meat and other dishes; though some of the meat was frozen, the quality is decent for its price. Our server, Sophia, was very friendly and attentive with checking on us making sure we're okay, she gave us a lot of great recommendations, too. The atmosphere was a little bit chaotic for me, there were loud music and lots of blue lights; it felt almost like a club. Understandable for a Sunday night.

I’ve gone twice in one week and already have future days planned to go back! The food is amazing, the service outstanding, and a great vibe overall. We had the best service tonight, again! Our server, Ben was so attentive, followed by Nick and everyone working there. The food was fresh, came out quickly, and everyone was constantly checking to see if we needed/wanted anything. There were a few large groups celebrating birthdays and it was nice to see the employees happily sing for the guests, like I said, it was a vibe there! I could go on and on about how great this place is, but do yourself a favor and go eat the best Korean BBQ in Texas! I haven’t had a single bad experience, but if you go, just remember they just opened so be kind and patient.

We had a wonderful experience here last night. We ordered from the premium menu and thought all the steak options were worth having seconds! Also enjoyed the chicken and the tinga tacos. Shrimp had heads on, so beware before ordering if that’s not your thing. It was also quite cold inside!!

My husband and I went for my bday dinner. We were blessed to get seated right away. We had a table that was private so that was nice. We got the premium selection of meats. Our waitress was Reese! She was PHENOMENAL! Definitely ask for her if you go in. The price was great for all you can eat premium meats, sides, appetizers, and sauces. The only down side is you can’t take anything to go and our appetizers were a little over cooked. Other than that we will definitely be back. Grace is given to for the overcooked appetizers.

Had a birthday party here for a friend and all the staff were courteous and fast with their service. Sharon and the rest of her colleagues were great hosts. I give 4 stars for atmosphere due to the abundance of blue lights in the restaurant which can be strenuous on the eyes, especially at night.

My family and I went here for our first time at 4:30pm on Friday. Tarek took care of us most of the time and he was on the ball the entire time while taking care of plenty of other tables too. We all got the $31 per person dinner option and ate so much good food. The appetizer dumplings and dessert pancakes were great. All the meat was perfect. Near the end of our dinner it started getting really busy. It's very nice looking inside. Highly recommend!

My server Sophia made this a special experience this Thanksgiving. Started with the Pollo Asado tacos & the wagyu paired with the Capri Soju. She asked if I wanted anything else. I told her I thought I was finished because what could I even follow up that perfect wagyu with. She said "actually I do have one suggestion." She brought me out the shortrib, and it was delicious. This was my 2nd time at GEN & I have to say this place is worth every dime from service to ingredient quality, to ambiance, to plating. I love it here 😍

Really only tried their premium cuts and they were all very good! And I’m honestly usually not a fan of AYCE style KBBQ because quality can be lackluster but the premium meat cuts here were great. I only received one order of very fatty meat and the server had no problem with me putting them to the side and not eating them. I’d definitely go back and this place will be in my rotation of Austin places that I eat! Our server was very helpful, timely, and great as well even on a Saturday. Also bathroom was nice and clean which is always a plus 👍

As the sign on the front says, “Finally Open”. Yes, finally it has opened. We went to gen bbq in Dallas and it’s good to have more Korean bbq near Austin! We went for lunch on Friday, food did not disappoint. Service was a bit work in progress. It overall a solid AYCE Korean bbq place. Galbi, bulgogi, spicy pork, samgyupsal. I like how they have many sides you can ask for like cheese tonkatsu and japchae, and salad, radish and rice wrap all unlimited. They’re pretty good at changing out your grill when it gets burnt and pretty prompt with food ordered. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I went for lunch and had an amazing experience. The server was so nice and food was amazing. We’ve never been to this type of restaurant but loved it so much that we’ll definitely be back. The manager even took the time to stop by our table and check on us and make sure we were having a good time. Thank you so much!!

🔥 Gen Korean BBQ House definitely delivered! 🔥 Super clean location and the vibe was on point from the moment we walked in. Our server, Tarek, was amazing — super polite, helpful, and always checking on us even when things got busy. He gave us some great recommendations, and every one of them hit perfectly. My guest and I had an awesome time, enjoyed every bite, and we’ll definitely be back again! 🙌🔥

Food, service, everything is so nice. We have 2 chefs in our house and both loved this place. For a fair price you can try most of everything on the menu. Such a great concept for foodies like is.

This place was not what we expected when we stopped by. The staff was excellent explaining how our dining experience was gouing to unfold. It is an all you can eat experience. It's $35 to $50 dollars per person but it is good. It is worth a visit.

Nothing short of spectacular, yummy yummy! Pictured here is the Kimchi fried rice, with cheese. On the grill we have cajun shrimp/spicy pork belly and pollo asado!! We also tried the short ribs. I ordered the Itaewon punch- ehh it was seriously a lot of punch for $17 I could have just ordered the soju by itself. The picture was really cool though. The meats were all very tender and fresh as well as VERY tasty and soaked in marinade which ended up being very good bbq overall. They opened a couple days ago so they were training staff still, but they are doing a phenomenal job. Very similar decor and vibe to the Carrollton location in Dallas 😍 I’ll be back lots of times lol

I’m so happy that there is now Korean BBQ North East Austin Metroplex. I’m also happy that it is a 5/5 ratings. The food was delicious and priced right. The esthetics and furniture were designed well and very comfortable. Lastly, the service was great. We had a short 20 minute wait to be seated, but that’s to be expected on a busy weekend. The experience is worth the wait.

We were originally going to eat somewhere else when we noticed this Gen location was open and decided to give it a try. Having tried several of the Korean BBQ restaurants in the Austin metro area, we were hoping Gen would be at least "as good" as our favorite Korean BBQ restaurants in the area. While it is noticeable that they are "just open" and still finding their stride, the staff is great. We were created in a prompt and friendly manner. The wait staff was friendly, helpful, courteous, and attentive. As for the food, it was easily on par with several of the better Korean BBQ restaurants in the metro Austin area, which is saying a lot given how soon it is since opening. If you enjoy Korean BBQ, then definitely consider giving Gen a try!

I had the best experience ever!! Me and my cousin decided to try a Korean bbq place for the very first time and gladly we chose Gen! The atmosphere was amazing, the selection of meats incredible and Nick took very good care of us. He explained the concept of Korean bbq, helped us to select the meats, He was so sweet and even pilled the shrimp for us🥹. We do recommend Gen and we are planning our next visit!

Went here with my brother's recommendation and thinking bout returning already! Woo Beasal is beef belly and I've never seen this premium quality meat at any other AYCE, plate after plate. I don't remember how many orders of this we devoured. The honey soy and k-gochujang flavors were solid too. So good I literally forgot to take a picture. Nook gan sal was good too, but just know that it's a really fatty cut of meat. Just start out with one order and see how you like it. Samgyupsal (pork belly) was good too, which is normally the cut of meat that all other AYCEs tend to cheap out on. Very impressed. Yangyum galbi (short rib) was not my favorite (pictured), and neither was the kimchi fried rice. We loved the hotteok and rice sticks from the appetizer menu.

Customer service was exceptional. The servers were very attentive to all 12 of us! The drinks were always flowing and the food came out quickly. I will say, there's not a lot of banchan dishes--but we came for the protein! It was a great experience and everyone left quite satisfied.

My friends and I had never had the opportunity to try Korean BBQ. We went to Gen Korean BBQ; just walking in, the atmosphere was beautiful. They have such a unique and modern design inside. The hostest was polite and showed us to our booth. Their was glowing blue glass with beautiful vases between our booth and the booth next to us. There is plenty of privacy to enjoy conversation with your friends. The waiter was very helpful explaining how to order and had delicious recommendations. He even would check on us, being 1st timers, to make sure we didn't have any questions and offer guidance if we did. The menu had an array of appetizers. Meat selections, and drinks. Our waiter was attentive and after cooking each pair of meats, when you ordered your next pair, they changed out the grill. (Again, 1st time, so we thought it was neat.) We will be going again, as it is affordable, delicious, and a we enjoyed the atmosphere.

So let me start this off by saying, we’ve seen this place and passed it many times, we never went to try it out because of the rating on google. BUT this week, my banker, a lady who was very critical on restaurants said that Gen was really good, so we decided to give it a try yesterday on a Friday night, and lemme tell you, SHE WAS RIGHT. Food was delicious, fresh and all the sauce options were great! Our server was Nico and he was walking around non-stop and was also so attentive. I will also say that $32 a person for a buffet style of quality meats and sides and appetizers is a really good deal, we easily pay $50 at some of the other KBBQ places around here. We will definitely be back and to whoever is reading this, let this be a reminder to not believe the bad reviews u see online cause u may be pleasantly surprised! So GO GO GO try this place out! 😊

I’ve visited Gen BBQ many times, but not at this branch before. I’m truly impressed with this location. The meat quality is excellent, with plenty of variety, and you can order continuously without any issues. Nico, our server, provided outstanding service—fast, accurate, and very attentive. He consistently checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Even though he was serving several tables, he still took great care of us with a positive attitude. I will definitely come back again.Thank you again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had an amazing dining experience at Gen Korean BBQ House! We decided to go for the premium dinner option, which was an extra $20 (about $50 per person total), and it was absolutely worth it. We ordered the prawns, wagyu beef, cowboy short ribs, and ribeye steak, and everything was fresh, tender, and packed with flavor. The sweet garlic sauce that comes with the premium meal was a standout—definitely ask for it if you upgrade! They were unfortunately out of the green tea salt, which pairs really well with the meats, but our server was super apologetic and let us know the next shipment is expected next week. To complement our BBQ, we also got fried kimchi rice—I had mine with cheese and it was so delicious and comforting. For drinks, we tried the peach-flavored soju in a giant fishbowl-style cup, which was fun and refreshing. The service was excellent—our waiter was friendly, attentive, and helpful with recommendations. We came around 4:30 p.m., which was a perfect time—no long wait, and the ambiance was chill and enjoyable without the usual dinner rush noise. All in all, this place is a vibe. Great food, great drinks, and great service. I’ll definitely be coming back—especially when the green tea salt is restocked!

I LOVE KBBQ we search for a place in every city we visit. That said, I think you should know what KBBQ is really about. This is NOT a buffet ready to eat food experience. This is a low and slow table top, cook your own food place. This experience is for those who have the time, patience and not at all in a hurry to eat. If I remember correctly Gen suggests a 3 serving at a time and while the portions might seem small remember you do have unlimited servings and a 2 hour limit to indulge. My recommendation is start with 1-2 appetizers, always cook the thicker cuts first by time you’re done with appetizers those will be ready for you to enjoy but if time is of the essence thinner cuts might be best option. We usually cook the protein in that order that way we have a steady amount of food. Remember to relax, chat, have drink and enjoy. I love having dates here with my husband (we do brunch or dinner) the vibe is great for it! It also gives us time to catch up on conversation of the home, work, extended family, kids, plans for the future or just plain good gossip🤣 Price wise I really don’t find it over priced. Depending on your menu choice (we always get the premium), your party size and your budget yes do expect to pay between $40-$50/person just like at any Brazilian steak house. Overall I do recommend.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted promptly by Mindy. She was welcoming, kind, and got us a table right away. Our server was Dylan. This fella was awesome. He was knowledgeable of the meats, excellent conversation, and was so helpful in helping our table cook the larger cuts of meat. His expertise and great customer service was top notch. Their meat quality was superb and the atmosphere was so cool. Blue lights made me feel like I was in a John Wick movie. The decor was lovely and our meats were brought out promptly. Top Marks to Dylan and Mindy for giving myself and my party a memorable, and fun Korean BBQ experience. I'll be back!

I had a great time here! I saw a lot of reviews complaining about service, but I must say that our experience was amazing! Our server was Caleb and he was attentive, gave fast service, and he was very kind. I noticed people complaining of the price, but personally I think the $32 per person was reasonable. We went about 5 rounds of meat max amount of plates per round. Some of the options are a little sweet. The best options are bulgogi, kalbi, beef belly, and the spicy marinated pork belly. A couple items are a little too sweet. The marinated chicken is very soft, but tastes a little too strong. The garlic chicken tastes VERY garlicky, like bold strong garlic. Back to service, Caleb was very good about putting those orders in and then coming later to check on us.

Expect a wait. Not sure if that's due to being new or because of the food. There are 41 items from which you can choose 4 at a time. Even more if you're willing to pay more for the premium menu. $20 more. They also serve lunch with separate choices. You also get rice, salad, little bowls of some things. Pretty straightforward to cook your food in the center of the table. Definitely a place to try. They also have an extensive drink menu. Strange but no deserts. Probably don't need them anyway as you'll be filled up from the meats.

I am so happy when GEN BBQ finally opened in Pflugerville. Love the consistent high quality meat throughout their locations and the modern decor that enhance the dining experience. Confused with the negative reviews because the restaurant is meat lovers’ heaven. Korean BBQ is an experience when you have to do it yourself but the experience is enhanced when ordering the right cut of meat. The service was great and prompt. A solid team! They serve novelty drinks. Look pretty not much alcohol which is consistent across all their global stores. No complaints on the drinks because they look really pretty! A suggestion to the management team: please buy the fattier pork loin. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Yangyum galbi (short rib) was not my favorite (pictured), and neither was the kimchi fried rice. We loved the hotteok and rice sticks from the appetizer menu.

Had a birthday party here for a friend and all the staff were courteous and fast with their service. Sharon and the rest of her colleagues were great hosts. I give 4 stars for atmosphere due to the abundance of blue lights in the restaurant which can be strenuous on the eyes, especially at night.

Had a blast for Date night with my Wife. Go hungry and go big. Be adventurous, everything is delicious. Our server was awesome, just enough interaction and let us enjoy each other's company. Highly recommend!!

I went for an early dinner around 5 on a Thursday. The restaurant was not busy and my party was seated promptly. I skipped the premium selection and the additional $20 charge. There was a decent selection of meats to choose from. The server was quick to ask for meat refills, but at times did not bring out all the meats requested. Overall a nice experience!!

Great atmosphere, but horribly slow service at least for some. We didn't get any of our plates until well over 20 minutes after we sat down; I think our server was a little slower. The other table behind us left after ordering because the food took too long, but the table near us with a different server was got their food a lot faster. There's a 2 hour time limit so if you're kept waiting a long time it eats into it. The meat was pretty good, well worth the price at least for the lunch special. It got packed FAST even though I got there on a Monday at 11:17 AM. Lots of people running around so it was kind of hectic.

I think this place is so cool! It’s nice having a one price experience to try a plethora of food items. I truly enjoyed it, definitely left with a full tummy! I recommend this as a great date night spot as well 😉!

Food was very nice! I love korean and mexican combination. It is an all you can eat, but I never knew theq cost per person, I knew it was going to be +20 usd because we asked for the premium. Drinks were slow. Food arrived prior any glass of water or drinks ordered. Mocktails were average, synthetic standard flavor. Definitely something new and I enjoy it! I will visit again.

There was a nice variety of steaks, with the long bone and ribeye being our favorites. However, the fried food wasn’t great—definitely not worth the time. Our waiter was a bit slow, but overall, it was a unique and enjoyable date night idea.

Not a five BUT I think it's the best so far of Korean BBQ around Austin area. This is a new Korean BBQ which just opened up in Pflugerville. Love the sitting arrangements and actually has a lot of tables. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Great menu. Plenty to choose and it is a all you can eat and order individual. Tasty food.. I think this will be a number one on my list to go to.

Food. Went in for the all-you-can-eat for $20 (side dishes and rice included). Look down the Lunch menu and start out with 4-5 choices from a list of 30+ items, most of which would be raw (as expected) and some already cooked and prepared for obvious reasons - like soup, KFC (Korean Fried Chicken aka Bonchon Chicken). At any time, you may request your wait staff for new or the more of the same menu items - including the side dishes/appetizers. They also order ala-carte from their menu. Children under 5 years old eat free. Children 5-10 years old are half off. Everyone else, full pay at $20 for Lunch, $31 for Dinner, Premium Dinner for an additional $20 per person. For dinner, if one is opting for a Premium tier, everyone of the same party is likewise charged for the additional fee, per head. Patrons are limited to a 2-hour stay. Lefover food policy. The party will be charged for leftover food - $5 per plate of meat, this excludes side dishes/appetizers and rice. Service was swift and efficient, if the place is not at capacity otherwise, expect delays for subsequent orders. In such cases, it'd be best to reorder upon each delivery. Our soup took over an hour to get to us, citing broken machine of sorts. KFC was an hour overdue. Atmosphere. Ambiance exudes elegance and upscale. Subdued blue lighting perpetuates throughout the dining area. They have seating for typical tables, high tables, and booths. Interior decor is nicely done.

Decent KBBQ experience. The meats were fine, and the banchan selection was adequate. Service was efficient. Nothing bad, but nothing truly stood out either. Good for a standard KBBQ craving.

This place is a great addition to the Stonehill area. Decided to dine here for Halloween evening. This is our first time here and I recognize this place is only been open for two weeks. Decided to go all out and went for the premium menu. They had pretty good competitive pricings similar to other Korean barbecue places. I did find it interesting that they had this sort of Mexican theme dishes. it was a little too adventurous for my taste for the first time, so I stuck with the pretty standard dishes with pork belly, Wagyu, short rib, etc. Overall, my dining experience was enhanced by the outstanding service by the guy in the Eeyore costume. He gave us outstanding recommendations and really managed all of his tables in a timely manner.

Sat 2/22 1pm, this place is ok but VERY VERY PRICEY so be ready to spend 💰 3 of us 31.95 each and yes it was all you can eat, but the portions were kid sizes, very small. I probably won’t be back. But to each is own. You may like it. Service was ok, he was friendly but he didn’t check on us enough. My rice was already cold by the time the food was ready. I don’t think they should bring out the rice bowl until you’re ready to start cooking away. Only had water to drink. My mom had green tea that she had to ask to take back to heat up, it was cold. The ambiance was very nice. I liked the lighting.

I recently tried out this newly opened Korean BBQ buffet with my husband, and for $20 per person at lunch, it’s definitely a good deal! The variety was great, with plenty of appetizers and a solid selection of meats, so it felt worth it overall. Since it’s a new spot, the staff seemed a bit busy keeping up. Even during lunch, the place was packed, so our orders took a little longer than expected. One thing that could improve is the grill plates—they switched them out twice, but each one still had a bit of residue, which wasn’t ideal for cleanliness. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I believe these small issues are things they can improve on with time.

Had a good experience at this location. Definitely going to be our go to spot in Austin if we’re feeling AYCE. Went on a Tuesday before 6pm and it was packed. Food was good, nothing extraordinary. Prices were pretty fair imo. We had our baby with us and there was a high chair available for use. I saw at least 2 of them. Only thing about the layout is they can only sit at the end of the table where the burner dial is and my baby kept playing with it. The high chair sticks out a lot and I felt kinda nervous that the servers might trip on it. They also had a changing table in the women’s restroom which is greatly appreciated.

Overall, an average experience. The food was good and the staff helpful. It's a large place, so it's pretty easy to get a table on short notice. The food was all good, just not mind blowing. I'm not knocking it! It's a perfectly nice Friday night dinner place. It's just in Austin, for $100/person, there are better options.

The atmosphere was A1, but the floor was super slippery and nobody was mopping so that was kind of odd. I wanted to like this place but the food quality was TERRIBLE. We ordered shrimp and it had the shell, head and everything on it. It wasn’t pleasant trying to get to the shrimp cause the seasoning was on the shell. The dishes that were cooked came to our table already cold. Then we had more dishes and some were warm even though it was a repeat order. It was a hit and miss if our food was going to be warm or cold .The meat was poor quality and cut. The waiter had us walking all over the place to find a table and we changed table 3 times. I was not satisfied with the food and have had better. I had high hopes for this place but it wasn’t it. I’ve been to a couple other spots and this is the lowest ranking.

So we’ve been to this restaurant twice. On our first time we opted for the regular lunch menu. The food was decent for its price, service was alright. On our second time, we were a group of six people, all opted for the premium menu. At first everything went smoothly, however as we begin to get our second and third refills, the service went downhill. The servers were too slow, kept forgetting things here and there. The restaurant is not even full. So apparently, one of the people from our group regularly dines at this place and said that they constantly do this. They wanted you to wait longer so you won’t be able to order more food. That’s just disappointing! We spent more for premium but treated poorly. To sum up, I think the regular menu is worth it, but paying for an additional $20 person for premium is not worth it. Not only will you have poor service, the quality of meat you’re getting is not a huge upgrade from the regular.

Ok, so this place has great potential with it’s food/ambiance. However, it is understaffed. It seems like they were not prepared to open given the high volume of customers. The wait is very long and it is a very tight layout where you are constantly stepping aside/squeezing by the waiters so not to spill the food. Our waiter Nick was awesome, very attentive and helpful. It just was not made clear on how the serving menu worked. I hope they will have a “ script” soon to greet customers and explain clearly in detail how it all works. The portions were decent but they were out of a few things and several items took a long time. I will try again once they get a bit more time to adjust.

I dined at this place, opting for the set meal priced at around 50 dollars per person. The service here was excellent; the staff were attentive, frequently checking if we needed anything and promptly refilling water or providing sauces. However, I was a bit disappointed with the food. The shrimp was definitely not fresh, with a mushy texture. If you’re still interested in trying this place, I recommend coming early, as the crowd had already started blocking the entrance when we were leaving.

M
Manuel San Luis

Service was extremely slow, and I never got my pork belly that I ordered. Banchan was good and flavorful. Calamari was made with Italian seasoning which was odd since this was a Korean food restaurant . Service flaws were due to understaffing.

About this restaurant they said all you can eat for $50 per person but they still add all the prime meat prices for you to pay extra plus the $50 that’s not all you can eat the cheat the price so the waste time here go somewhere better.

This Korean BBQ chain spot is just okay. They’ve got a great variety of food—steak, shrimp, squid, chicken, and beef—all without needing to go premium, and the prices are super fair. The cocktails are great, they mix juice and soju which tastes awesome. That said, the grill doesn’t get hot enough even at max and takes a while to cook, and the wait time is pretty rough, especially in the evening. The service was slow too—we had to wait a while for sides to come out. Also, they serve sesame oil and salt separately in tiny portions, which feels weird and inconvenient. To top it off, they only let us use two credit cards for the tab, which was a headache at the end of the night. Not terrible, but not great either.

It was a very so-so restaurant. Let me break it down. The overall atmosphere was that of a trendy modern night club-ish place. Music was loud and talking even to the person next to you is very hard. We had a big group of 9 and were seated at a long table with 2 grills. We were given just 2 menus and had to pass those around to be able to figure out our order. We opted for a standard dinner menu that includes 41 options of foods to order, some precooked and some to cook on the grill. The appetizer foods were almost all terrible. Korean fried chicken was rock hard and cold when, the fish was way too breaded and overcooked, rice cakes were almost uncooked and could be barely chewed. The meats for the grill arrived nicely marinated though, but only one side of our large table was grilling well and the other side was barely cooking the meat. Half of our party finished cooking and their 5 different grilled items by the other half just got their chicken cooked. We tried to get help but we're told repeatedly that the grill is set to max. We eventually had to cook all remaining meat on one side of our table and pass it around. The only thing that kind of resampled real Korean food other than the meat was the spicy tofu soup. It was very good. Everything else tastes way better if you get it from the frozen section at H-Mart and reheat at home. One good thing: the young people who are servers work very hard and try to make customers happy. Our servers were very polite and tried to get everything to us as soon as possible. They really cared. P.S. Drinks were ok!

Came here for a second time recently; first time was several months ago. I must say, the quality of the food has gone down significantly. The service is great, the atmosphere is decent. Maybe take care of the plumbing smell near the entrance as you enter the restaurant but no complaints otherwise for the atmosphere. The pricing is very reasonable. Presentation of food is great. It's just the quality of the food that is quite disappointing - not just a specific selection or two, but the quality of nearly all items we tried, including appetizers was underwhelming.

Great food ( when we were able to get it and not forgotten ) , beautiful scenery , the thing that just really tanked it was almost all the service staff seemed to be miserable , our waiter elias seemed to either be having a hard day or just really hate his job and only seemed to be ok or have a smile when we asked for the check and was also just not very knowledgable on the menú but again it wasn't just him all the wait staff I almost never saw a smile and it was odd. While we did dine today on a Saturday it was not very busy when we went at 3pm so it made no sense to be that sour . As someone in the hospitality industry very disappointing. Korean bbq being warm and inviting is important as you are there for longer than most restaurants and to have just people who seemed to hate being there or that you ask for anything was super disappointing especially for the price. My suggestion is if you eat there know you will get good food but don't expect anything resembling service

They no longer switch out your cooking grills ! The service has always been a bit rough at this location with food orders being forgotten or certain orders taking forever before they arrive at your table, but as of last night, they now no longer will switch out your cooking grills during your meal. For anyone who doesn't know, the cooking grills get extremely nasty and burnt up during a meal. At every other KBBQ spot the grills will get switched out every 15-30 minutes or so in order to keep the patrons from having the burned residual sauce embedded into the new meats being cooked. Their solution to not wanting to do the additional clean up of having to wash more cooking surfaces is to bring each table a radish in a bowl of water. They want you to clean your own grill with the radish and the tongs they bring to your table. The water radish combo does an ok job scrapping the burned parts to the side of the circular grill top, but now that area can not be cooked on. It also doesn't fully clean the middle of the circle cooking surface. My wife and I have always enjoyed the food here and the fun of the experience, but we decided yesterday, we won't be going back until they remedy the poor service and go back to the previous way of switching out the grills when dirty. I am beyond blown away they were requiring each table to cook on dirty and burned up grills. If they don't change, this place will be out of business within a year.

Me and my girlfriend went to this place on a Sunday night at around 9:00 PM. To sum it up, the food was pretty good, the atmosphere was amazing, but the service was horrible. This was our first time experiencing korean BBQ, and the waitress did not explain anything to us. After we ordered it took over 10 minutes to get it when there were only 3 other parties there. She forgot our drink as well as getting my girlfriend new chopsticks. Each time we ordered a new meat it would still be over 10 minutes, as well as never getting our drinks refilled. We then had to ask multiple times for our check and eventually had to get the manager to help pay. This wasn't any better since I wanted to leave a very small tip, as the manager pulled out a tablet and held it by hand for my tip, leaving me feeling horrible if I didn't tip good. I'm not sure if it was just our waitress, but other waiters and waitresses seemed to be uncaring and off task. For the amount of money we paid for we'd expect good service, and it was a very disappointing first experience.

GLASS IN MY FOOD! Let me start by saying I used to love this place. I found it by happy accident while shopping in Stone Hill. It had just opened and I was so pleased with the buffet style, I didn’t even trip when the new server misquoted the set price to me which didn’t match the bill. I let it go knowing that I had a good time and the food was worth it. The next time I went, the service was worse, but they were very busy. Then we ordered pickup through Doordash a few times. Every time the online menu seems to get slimmer and slimmer, maybe as a means to save money or portion sizes idk, but it’s disappointing. Still, through all these changes, I let it go. Now, this is where I draw the line! In our last pickup order, there was GLASS in my potato salad! I was eating and felt something hard and sharp in my mouth. I pulled it out and boom! A SHARD OF GLASS. I have tried calling the restaurant and left a voicemail for the manager and I’m getting no reply!!! I’m contacting corporate. Very disappointing. This location is a dud. Look elsewhere.

It's edible. This place is one of the worst kbbq I've eaten. I've been in the best of Atlanta and Houston and Austin. I've eaten it in Korea. There's nothing quite like this - the bulgogi is like hamburger, and brisket isn't sliced, it's shredded. The sides were uninspired and bland. I would never recommend this place, even for the low promotional prices.

My daughter wanted kbbq for her birthday. She stopped eating midway. Gen Austin is not the same as Gen Dallas/ktown. This place was very disappointing. The staff was good; doing their best given the limitations of this restaurant. Panchan - 6 miniature plates barely enough for 2 people. Our part was 5. No traditional salad to eat with your meat. No lettuce / leaf wraps. Only a bowl of rice. One dish we ordered was Korean chicken. Ever eat the fried chicken tenders at Dairy Queen? I couldn’t tell the difference. It wasn’t wings or legs. The kitchen couldn’t keep up because the dishes came out slow and sporadic. Some meat dishes were fine. Others came out as a block of semi unfrozen meat. Clearly an operational issue. Perhaps there’s so many dishes to choose from and given that there’s not enough customer base, many foods are forced to be frozen and stored for another day. $32/person.

E
Elvi Thio

I guess making $35 a person, they can’t afford to not cut corners. The galbi was way too fatty (see picture), the brisket was thin and grainy, the rice cakes were chewy it hurt my jaw, and they don’t have a lot of basic kbbq necessities: fish cakes, spinach, corn cheese?? Service is also lacking. Our waitress was sweet but so busy and didn’t come by very often. Also it took too long for grill changes, so some of our food tasted burnt.. Hard pass. Total $42 per person after tax and tip

J
Jason John

Incredibly slow service (not that busy of a day but we spent almost 3 hours there, most of it waiting around), the grill needed to be adjusted a few times because it wasn't getting hot, and the icing on the cake was the hostess herself complaining about the amount of work she had to do. Food was decent at very best. It's definitely one of those places that brings you a little bit of meat and then makes you wait 30 mins for the next order so you don't order as much. Definitely not worth the price of admission. Skip this joint.

When we first started coming here it was fantastic. The second time we came the prices went up and the waiter tried getting me to go to a different location farther out but we only live down the street. Today we came and waited almost ten minutes on a waiter, had dirty dishes, and they brought the food out too slowly. We were still waiting on a clean plate and waiting so long the food burned. I’m starting to think they don’t want certain races here, but that’s the entirety of Pflugerville if I’m being honest.

I visited Gen Korea to celebrate my mother's birthday, expecting a warm and welcoming experience. Unfortunately, our night was far from it. My mother, who is a vegetarian, was subjected to what felt like blatant discrimination. We were initially excited to enjoy the evening, but it quickly became clear that the restaurant's staff was not accommodating to her dietary preferences. Despite the restaurant advertising vegetarian options, the staff was dismissive and appeared annoyed by our request for meat-free dishes. My mother was made to feel embarrassed for her dietary choices, as if being a vegetarian was an inconvenience to them. The service was painfully slow, and when the food finally arrived, it was obvious that little to no care was taken in preparation. My mother's dish was underwhelming, lacking in flavor and variety, especially compared to the non-vegetarian meals that seemed to be the focus of their menu. It's truly disappointing to experience such a lack of respect and professionalism, especially on what was supposed to be a special occasion. I would not recommend Gen Korea to anyone who values respectful service and inclusivity for all dietary preferences. Overall experience: Horrible.

We went to Gen for what we thought would be an early dinner ~5pm or so to beat the dinner rush and hopefully be in and out. We were happy to see it was not busy at all because we thought we would get quick service. Wow, we could not even be more wrong. Our waitress kept disappearing, took at least 20 min just to get our rice out, didn’t even turn on our grill before any of the meats arrived, and we had to keep flagging her down just to get ANY type of service. She also seemed to keep forgetting what we ordered. Normally, I would be understanding if it were busy, but I look over and see a lot of the workers chatting it up on the side INCLUDING our waitress. Not wasting money and time coming back.

Not sure if there is a new owner or the management changed but the food quality has taken a dive guys. Meat that has been thawed and frozen again you can taste the difference, My salad wasn't washed, recipe was changed, I came in at 4:10 wasn't busy but the service seem like it was busy took a while to receive anything, even though I'm sitting near the kitchen and can see what their doing.. grill was only changed once been here over an hour my grill is burnt, my waiter was trying but what can he do when the kitchen takes a long time to make cheese kimchi rice and it comes out cold.

Would give 0 stars if I can. Friday noon counts as weekend/holiday pricing but is understandable. BUT- service is bad and missing tons of items. Did not bring enough rice and kept telling us they are waiting on the rice but when we ask another person they immediately brought us a bowl of rice. Cooked foods (fried chicken, jap chae) are ALL cold, and our server forgot our order multiple times and we had to ask and they replied that they ran out. Portions get significantly smaller throughout the meal, after a few serves the pork belly came with bones, and more than half of the steak are almost inedible fat (see photo).

G
Gordon Kelley

If zero stars were possible that what this place would get. The meat is extremely low quality and almost inedible. This was honestly the worst food I have ever ate in my entire life. I left Gen BBQ house disappointed, sad, and with a belly ache. That said the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was unique, but the same can be said about waffle house. Save your money and avoid a trip to urgent care by eating literally anywhere but Gen BBQ House.

I never leave reviews but this was horrendous… Decided to try out this new place for a late lunch. We were walked through the middle of an empty restaurant full of empty dirty tables. Almost every table was dirty. Half empty plates, food half eaten. The floor was slimy. We walked right back out as we had lost our appetite.

A
Abby Early

We came around 4:30 in the afternoon when the restaurant was nearly empty—maybe one or two other tables were being served. Despite that, it took 15 to 20 minutes just for someone to greet us at our table. When we ordered drinks, one (a simple glass of water) was forgotten. We asked for it again, and even then, it took way longer than it should have to arrive. We also requested jalapeños that never came. Service was a mixed bag. Our first server was inattentive—we had to repeatedly ask for things and wave them down several times. Partway through the meal, a second server took over, and they were much better. Not sure if there was a shift change or the first server left, but the difference was night and day. The food itself was underwhelming. The meat quality was low, and overall the meal just didn’t measure up, especially compared to other Korean BBQ spots I’ve visited across Texas—and in Korea. This was, unfortunately, the worst Korean BBQ experience I’ve had. To top it off, it took 20–30 minutes from the time we asked for our check to when we were finally allowed to pay—apparently the manager was the only one who could close us out. If we had been in a hurry, it would’ve been a major issue. Honestly, I’d rather buy the ingredients and grill them myself at home than come back here. Not a place I’d recommend.

I have been here twice now, once when they first opened and today 8/1/25 When they first opened it gave them the benefit of the doubt. Seeing that they came down from Dallas with their Dallas staff i still gave it a try. If you know Korean BBQ and the flavors and how this works you'd give a 1 star rating as well. First of all the price for AYCE is not displayed on the menu, what's displayed is the menu insert for the premium meats of and additional $20 a person. On top of what dinner/lunch is. 2nd how do you bring out 1 of 4 dishes but say I have to order when those are done? How do you run out of rice when you juat started dinner and the restaurant was dead when we walked in. We ordered the sirloin, but come tell us that it hasn't come out yet because no one cut it for serving?? My bonchon tasted old not fresh and my tofu soup tasted cheap, the zucchini was still raw! You won't see me return. Go to Gangnam Korean BBQ its worth the price and worth the Quality

This is a newly open Korean BBQ place in pfluggerville. Our group have 5 people, but we’re asked if we can squeeze into a 4-people desk. The desk was relatively small compared to the large plate. We sat there and wait for around 10mins, seeing other desk who came later than us starting grilling and eating. Our server didn’t come until 10mins later and started ordering. We ordered the Mandu dumplings, salad, some meat, and five bowl of rice in our first round. The server only came with four bowl of rice saying: “we don’t have enough rice” but then the other server come with our rice. Then, we waited for around 20 mins and ask the other server about the dumplings. We’re told that “there’s no dumplings.” We tried to order other appetizers and the server mockingly looking at us saying “we’re running out of blah blah blah.” Man it’s only 12pm - an hour from the start of your operating hours, and you’re telling me that things are gone? And we see the dumplings came right after they told us it’s running out? Ok going back to the meat itself. Not sure if it’s our problem but the red wine pork belly is in a weird purple color (pic 3). The steak was in normal size, smaller with fats in second round (pic 1), and eventually all fats in last round (pic 2). The fried chicken is cold and looks like it was bought at Wingstop next door and wait for a good 2 hours. Overall it’s a terrible experience. Not sure if we’re having low standard for Austin’s AYCE places or it’s a Friday lunch so servers are too busy. But you can get a better service and food even at the Wingstop or Costco next to this place.

I’ve been to several Gen Korean BBQ locations, and this was by far the worst. We waited over 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. Even after placing our order, we received meat without any sides or water and had to wait another 10 minutes. By then, the grill went out, and it took multiple attempts to get someone’s attention—it felt like the staff forgot about our section. The service was so poor that the table behind us was also complaining and they were trying to grab someone’s attention as well. To make matters worse, the pork belly we ordered clearly looked and tasted like chicken. I brought it up to the server, who insisted it was pork belly. However, when we were paying, the manager admitted that it “looks like chicken and not pork belly. It could have been very much chicken.” If you’ve ever been to Korean BBQ, you know exactly what pork belly looks like. For $70 for two people, this experience was incredibly disappointing. I’d strongly recommend going to a different KBBQ restaurant.

I’ve loved eating @ Gen but this….IS TRASH !! WHY IS MY BRISKET GROUND UP?! I’ve NEVER had my brisket served to me like this- I don’t care if it’s a Togo plate. It’s a $17 PLATE for ground up meat & wimpy as* sides. Take the drive to Austin bc this location isn’t worth Jack. The customer service is also extremely terrible & don’t know how to run a business properly.

I’m a regular customer and I truly enjoy the food and the all-you-can-eat concept. However, there is a serious and confusing inconsistency regarding holiday pricing that needs to be addressed. When calling the customer service line, I was told that dinner pricing applies only on national holidays. However, at the restaurant, staff insisted that dinner pricing applies on all holidays, including federal holidays. This is where the confusion comes in: Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a federal holiday, not a national holiday, yet dinner pricing was enforced. The information given by the call center and the restaurant directly contradict each other. This lack of clarity creates frustration and, unfortunately, can lead to customer loss. I hope management aligns internal communication and clearly defines holiday pricing to avoid further misunderstandings.

Food quality was awful. The meat looked well past its due date, the kimchi was old, and japchae tasted like plastic; I wouldn’t recommend eating here at all.

Update: Service keeps getting worse. Went back 4 more times and service is worse every time. They don’t let you decide how much you want to tip. They just give you a total of how much they want you to pay. Our server wasnt that attentive. Maybe they’re understaffed but service has just gone so bad. As always, food is really good. We decided to upgrade to premium and it was definitely worth it. Loved the wagyu and shortribs!

I’m sorry, but I can't give any stars for the food. I paid $30 plus tax for a Friday lunch, and it was not worth the money. The meat was frozen, and the side dishes did not taste like decent Korean cuisine. Additionally, the jalapeño was rotten, which was disappointing. I would not recommend this place at all.

My husband and I recently visited Gen, and overall, I found it to be significantly overpriced for the experience it offered. When we arrived, instead of greeting us and asking for our party size, the staff placed a sign with a QR code in front of me so that I could request a table. It felt really unusual. The all-you-can-eat option was $31.95 per person, which included unlimited proteins, but drinks were not included. Alcoholic beverages averaged around $20 each, while non-alcoholic options like soda and tea were about $5, making the total cost add up quickly. The portioning was also disappointing. Each table only received a small bowl of rice to accompany the proteins, but since the meat takes time to cook, the rice would often go cold before we could fully enjoy it. The booths were fairly small and cramped, and the interior design felt more like a nightclub, with dim lighting and blue neon lights, which didn’t create the most inviting dining atmosphere. Service was another issue. Our waiter was friendly but frequently forgot requests, such as bringing tongs, and as first-time visitors, we were not given any explanation of how the process worked. The cooking itself took quite a while, and while the staff did come around to change out the grill tops periodically, it felt disruptive. After each swap, we had to wait again for the grill to heat up, further extending the time before we could eat. In the end, my husband and I spent around $80, and we left feeling unsatisfied. The food took too long to cook, the portions were not generous, and the overall experience didn’t justify the high price. If they were to lower the per-person cost, it might feel more reasonable, but as it stands, I wouldn’t return or recommend it.

I’ve been to Gen several times before, and I never really felt it was that clean, but today was the worst… The spoon had broth dripping on it. Even after replacing it, the new ones were still dirty—I had to change six spoons in total. Also, we ordered hotteok, but even though we didn’t eat japchae, there were strands of japchae on the hotteok plate. It seems like the dishes are not being washed properly, and no one checks them before bringing the food out. The water cups were also very dirty—honestly, everything felt really unclean. Please, I beg you, take better care of hygiene.

1 staff is doing a server for 30people now. It is ridiculous. It is all you can eat but you can’t eat. Paid around $100 but still waiting lol

Been here a few times and every time it gets worse and worse. While it’s all you can eat, we waited 45 minutes after ordering before we got meat to put on the grill, 30+ minutes after ordering any additional meat and dessert or drink refills. Literally didn’t see our server for 15-30 minutes multiple times. No actual updates on why it was taking so long besides blaming the kitchen once things finally did arrive at our table.

Terrible service partly due to shortage of staff. Received our food before our drinks which took almost thirty minutes to receive. Waitress said their bartender didn’t come in so she had to make our milk teas when she got a chance. Didn’t offer water to drink in the meantime. Glad we didn’t choke on our food while we were waiting for our drinks. By the time we got our milk teas we only received 3 of them out of 4. She informed they needed to brew some tea to make the 4th one 🤦🏽‍♀️ They didn’t have any rice ready either so that was another long wait then when we received that it wasn’t even warm at least. Food was mid, nothing special. Ordered the double dragon appetizer which is two different types of fried shrimp. Only received one type and wasn’t informed they were out of the other until i asked. The first plate of raw meat she did bring she spilled raw juice meat onto the table and never cleaned it or say sorry. Some items were placed on our table and were unsure what it even was so it just sat there until our waitress was available for us to even ask. Mind you this is on Wednesday evening and wasn’t even busy or crowded. Waitress wasn’t available when we were ready to check out so Carlos the manager assisted us. He asked how everything was and I told him this was our first time here and we will never return and also told him why. All he said was that he was sorry to hear that. Then there was an issue with checking out and he offered no resolution just switched to a different machine. -10 out of 10, DO NOT recommend at all whatsoever. Forgot to mention it’s $32.95 per person for all you can eat dinner. Not one person in our group ate that much food for that price.
