Martinet is located on a narrow street near Corso Regina Margherita. From the outside, it may seem small, but inside, it surprises with its welcoming and elegant atmosphere and authentic Piedmontese atmosphere. The menu is varied yet solid, firmly rooted in tradition, with some variations that enrich the dishes without distorting them. The creamed cod with polenta sticks is excellent, balanced and delicate, but the most impressive dish is the mezzé paccheri cooked in bagna cauda: intense, enveloping, and very distinctive, without being heavy. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable, and the prices are in keeping with the quality and setting. The wine list is also interesting, offering a truly excellent value. Recommended for a quality dinner with friends or for an important occasion.
We had the opportunity to celebrate New Year's Eve here and it was a very pleasant experience! The atmosphere was pleasant, the staff very friendly, and the food was excellent. The wine pairing was particularly well chosen; we really enjoyed the rosé. We will definitely be back.
Il Martinet was a delightful surprise: an excellent menu with a thoughtful and well-balanced selection. The quality is top-notch, as is the attention to detail in the typical Piedmontese dishes. Everything was delicious, except for the dessert I tried: a revisited version of the traditional peach, chocolate, and amaretti... well, this dessert wasn't good... it was exceptional!
Valentine's Day dinner for two. Intimate atmosphere, good background music. Piedmontese menu, excellent appetizers, especially the veal with tuna sauce (veal with tuna sauce) with a typical Piedmontese sauce, meaning no mayonnaise. Gourmet first courses: gnocchi with Castelmagno cheese and tajarin with pumpkin and sausage. Ditto main courses: capunet (a type of cheese) and braised beef. Desserts: salted caramel bonet (a type of pastry) and apple flan. All washed down with a Bonarda Vivace. Definitely worth a try.
A very unique restaurant serving excellent Piedmontese cuisine in a vintage setting, with attention to detail, including chandeliers, comfortable chairs, and carefully set tables. Friendly staff. Exposed brick ceiling. Affordable prices, excellent food. A varied à la carte menu, and a set menu with a Groupon discount.
Want to experience a timeless atmosphere? So much care, kindness, and creativity? Well, this is the restaurant I recommend! Yes! The cuisine is refined, even though it revisits Piedmontese dishes with imaginative reinterpretations and combinations that may seem daring but are actually pleasantly surprising! The small, intimate atmosphere has a homey feel, and the family-run business welcomes and pampers you, making you feel at ease, even a little complicit in commenting on the dishes in a friendly way!
We found authentic Piedmontese cuisine, with rich and authentic flavors. The Bagna Caoda was unforgettable, the Guanciotta was amazing, and the Bunet deserved top marks. The place is warm, with period yet welcoming furnishings. The staff proved to be professional and impeccable (even when faced with complex situations). We will definitely return as soon as possible.
Dinner for two with a tasting menu, and what a tasting! A trio of appetizers, two first courses, two second courses, and dessert. Delicate veal with tuna sauce, flavorful tajarin, and a moist braised beef, not to mention the meat and cabbage rolls and the bonet to finish! A traditional, flavorful and well-balanced menu in a warm and comfortable setting. Friendly and helpful service: highly recommended!
It's not a trivial thing to combine "old things" without making the whole thing seem kitsch or pretentious. Here, however, the atmosphere is incredibly pleasant: "natural" and highly original at the same time! Perhaps one of the most interestingly decorated restaurants I've ever been to... The food follows the same logic: traditional dishes prepared with extreme care and an almost obsessive selection of ingredients, to achieve flavors that are "exactly what they should be"! Excellent meats and flavorful sauces, above all a tongue as pink and tender as a cured meat. I used a Groupon voucher, so the price was also excellent, but that doesn't mean the treatment was second-rate. On the contrary: the attention to guests is as meticulous and kind as every other detail of the place. I hope—since I don't live in Turin—I have the opportunity to return!
Dinner on November 25, 2022. Located in an easily accessible suburban area, though parking is a bit difficult, the restaurant features brick vaults, unique period chandeliers, mirrors and wallpaper with a lived-in feel, and, in the first room, a beautiful interplay of overlapping surfaces that create a very personal atmosphere. Tables are well-spaced and comfortable; the acoustics are excellent. Typical Piedmontese cuisine, well-prepared and presented, with portions that aren't generous but adequate (we ordered a raw meat, a vegetable flan with fondue, a plate of tajarin with white ragù, a plate of tagliatelle with butter, a plate of tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, and two desserts). The wine list isn't extensive but is high-quality; good bread and, above all, breadsticks; Italian extra virgin olive oil. Prompt and courteous service. The waitress was pleasantly knowledgeable about wine. The bill wasn't cheap, but it was influenced by the space between tables and the quality of the ingredients. Rating: 8.5
Very nice place, good food, and perfect service (they even called us to bring forward our second-round reservation, which was much appreciated). Prices are a bit high, in my opinion, making it difficult to repeat the dinner easily. If it were twenty euros less per person, I would definitely have returned many times! Recommended.
Noisy, suitable for small groups, good food but high prices, impeccable service, but the waitress was very rude—perhaps the owner, who knows... Recommended place, but bring your best smile and go on a good day, otherwise you risk ruining your dinner... Heartfelt recommendation: the place is beautiful and the food is good. A few more smiles wouldn't hurt to improve your proposal...
A pleasant restaurant with a good menu. We enjoyed the meats and appetizers more than anything else. The service and atmosphere were a shame: one waitress was very nice, the other extremely rude. A family with a tantrum-throwing child ignored by their parents made the experience less pleasant.
Awesome pizza and service!! Completely reccomended! They even welcome you with side dish and drink. Reccomended pizza: positano and caprese ;)
The first course we had was good. I'm giving it two stars because the food was okay, but the service was truly awful. The waitress who served us had shoulder-length brown hair in ponytails, and she was in a hurry to finish her shift (it was around 9:00 PM). By shift, I mean she had to clear our table, so much so that she left as soon as we left. We were still eating the bread, and she was clearing the plates and food, not to mention a glass of wine that cost €10, which wasn't even a glass because she literally hadn't put a finger of wine in it. Not even at a Michelin-starred restaurant... a total lost customer. Never again.
