I’ve been in Italy for a week finally tried Sole 1936 and it’s hands down the best food I’ve had yet! Incredible view of the harbor and incredible service. The local mussels were some of the best! My boy Rudy was extremely helpful, kind, and talk about local muscles! Top tier service, food, and vibes! Still have 3 days in Italy and def coming back to Sole 1936!

We just stumbled across this cute little restaurant on our way back to our hotel after spending the day taking ferries along the coast hopping from Santa Margherita to San Fruttuoso with the obligatory stopover in Portofino… we were exhausted and all we needed was just some good food, good wine and a view. This place had it all!! The food is excellent,( the best octopus I’ve ever had by far), the pasta was also delicious, great wine selection, very charming atmosphere, beautiful view over the water and the old castle, very attentive service. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable without being too pretentious… it definitely exceeded our expectations. What an amazing evening!

We have been to this restaurant the past 2 nights. The food is delicious, the seafood carbonara was my favourite. All the staff were very welcoming and attentive, they even remembered us from the night before. The atmosphere and sitting right next to the sea was great. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Would recommend visiting this restaurant.

Amazing family owned reatsurant. We came here for lunch and loved it so much that we made dinner reservation the very same night. The Halibut special was unique and so delicious. Pieces of fish layed out in between vegetables and crunchy yet soft cracker like pieces and pesto on the dide. All the flavors and textures worked very well together. Also enjoyed the pesto pasta, side salad, seabass carpaccio and a simple mango sorbet served over fresh strawberries. The view at the ocean and historical tower completed the experience. Highly recommend!!!

We had a lovely evening at this restaurant. Food was delicious and very filling. The flavors are rich and creamy. We didn’t make a reservation beforehand but the service was fast and friendly and cleared a spot. The only downside was the price, which was a bit high. Overall a great experience.

Lovely location, beautiful views of the bay made this a perfect spot for dinner. We had a few pasta dishes with seafood that were excellent and a steak that was prepared really well. We were blown away by the Panna Cotta, which was infused with Basil and topped with a pine nut honeycomb and a few olives- superb! Service was good with friendly staff that made us feel welcome.

Location, location, location. Sole 1936 has to be located in one of the best locations in Rapallo. However, we found it just missed the mark with the food and service, and price, especially compared to other restaurants we have been to this week in Rapallo. The food and service was good, but there is better, but not for location.

Perhaps one of the best views in Rapallo, the castle looks wonderful day and night. The food was well cooked and presented and used locally sourced produce. Good range of drinks including local wines all reasonably priced. What was particularly good was the friendly and attentive staff. Overall a really enjoyable experience and well worth a visit. We would go back again.
