What a place! It totally blew me away—absolutely beautiful with spot-on vibes. My beer came in this oversized chalice that was just too cute! Perfect Saturday energy all around. The food was great too. This is definitely going to be our go-to spot!
The exterior of this place is under construction (as of February 2025), but do not let it scare you. This is a big laid-back restaurant with plenty of seating and nice looking interior featuring a big buck. The service was attentive and pleasant. I ordered their burger with venison chili, blue cheese salad and a cocktail. The burger was delicious, and their chili is worth a trip to try. The salad was fine, and the Hot Teddy cocktail allowed to warm up after the cold weather quickly. I would recommend to at least try this place.
The drinks were Ice Cold. Service was EXCELLENT. THE Sliced brisket was AMAZING. THE jalapeno cheddar sausage was ok, could have used a little more spice. The ribs were my least favorite unlike the other meats the ribs were cool to the touch. Would have been way better if they were warmer. The BBQ sauce was on POINT. The Charo beans were on point as well. Not a huge fan of the slaw. All and all the Food was really good, and the service was AMAZING. I would deffinetly recommend this as a place to come and relax and have some good food.
Food is very Texas. Brisket, kinda heavier and more unhealthy options but delicious. No allergens listed on menu. The vibe is 100! Large outdoor area, great service and great drinks. Will be back!
Atmosphere is a bit noisy but casual and upbeat. Cigar / smoking area outside. A lot of tree cover for shade and atmosphere. This is an easy going hangout with friends type of place.
Our first time here and we had a good time, great atmosphere and vibe! We had the loaded fries, the beer-ritas, and ofcourse beer! The servers were very fast and kind, had the food out very fast as well! I will def will be coming back, at night and when its warmer!! Good place to hang out, only wish they had games to play!!
Our go to place for a fun and relaxing time! I love the normal and subtle music. So many places want to play trendy and/ or rap music, which I do not find relaxing. The food is always good and the service is always friendly. I also like the the beer glasses are alway chilled.
This is one of our absolute favorite spots, especially when we’re hosting friends from out of town—it never fails to impress! Our guests always rave about the vibrant and inviting atmosphere, and the patio area is such a standout. It’s the perfect mix of laid-back fun and great energy, making every visit feel special. The service here is consistently top-notch, with staff who are attentive, friendly, and always eager to enhance the experience. As for the food, I can’t recommend the chicken Caesar salad enough—it’s fresh, flavorful, and always perfectly prepared. Pair it with a side of crispy French fries, and you’ve got the ultimate go-to for a girls’ night dinner. Whether it’s a casual evening out or a chance to show off one of the best local spots, this place is a must-visit every time!
Awesome burger and tots! Add a side of queso for an extra twist on those tots. Crazy packed in there but plenty of room to still sit and enjoy yourself and your awesome burger.
Katy Trail Ice House in Plano is one of my favorite places to get a hamburger and an adult beverage. Most people prefer their wide selections of beer. I prefer the margaritas! Try a cheeseburger cooked your way with french fries or onion rings. If you are adventurous, try the Ahi Tuna sandwich. Eating outside with your dog two days after Christmas is awsome! Try Katy Trail Ice House; you will not be dissolved IMO!
I went in for a late lunch so I don't know about the atmosphere, it was quiet and we sat at the bar. Food was amazing. I had a brisket sandwich and it was so tender and the meat fell apart easily instead of being stringy. It was good enough I ordered a to go plate for my mom. I'm gonna have to go back and try the sausage. The BBQ sauce was on the side and just so so but who puts BBQ sauce on brisket?? The brisket speaks for itself and this brisket was amazing.
We found this place when visiting our daughter. We needed a dog friendly place. Boy does it deliver! Welcomes your dog on to the outdoor area with a posted sign. Lots of trees and so much shade. The waitress, Crystal, was the best! Super friendly and pleasant! We ordered the nachos first then the hamburger and hotdog dinners. Huge portions and good value. The bbq smelled amazing, but they were out of most everything on a late Sunday afternoon, so I recommend getting there early. We will be back!
So tried this place randomly on a Thursday night. Place was hopping. The outside patio area a packed. Luckily I’m more of a sit at the bar girl. The atmosphere was lively a bit noisy but I liked it. I got a good look at outside lots of sitting area dog friendly. The bar is nice lots of seating chairs and booths. The beers rotate a bit so it was fun tasting some new ones I hadn’t heard of. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it. I got brisket quesadillas and also tried the brisket nachos. Both delicious. My husband had the brisket sandwich the bbq is Thursday through Sunday and so good. Smoked there on site it seems.
This restaurant consistently delivers an excellent dining experience, and the newly expanded outdoor area is a real highlight. It has a wonderfully festive atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal. One of the best features of the outdoor seating is the clever natural sound barrier between the restaurant and Park Boulevard, which significantly reduces street noise and allows for more pleasant conversation. While the misting fans do create a continuous drone, their cooling effect is a welcome trade-off on warmer days. Without fail, every guest I've introduced to this restaurant has thoroughly enjoyed it, a true testament to its quality.
We had a great experience for dinner here! They were running out of the different barbeque meats, which at first I thought whaaaat? But as soon as we got our meal we soon understood the quality of the food is greeeaaaat! Which now explains why they run out of barbeque on a Sunday evening. Thank you for the great dinner for a big group!
Katy trail ice House is one of my go-to's for a beautiful day to spend on a patio in Plano. I've been to Katy trail many times over the years, I can't believe I haven't reviewed them before now! My niece and I got together last week and stopped by for some patio time. It was a beautiful day, just a tad chilly, so we sat at a table with a heater. I was disappointed to see that the wood burning fire pit is there no longer! They do still have the gas fireplace on the patio and ample propane heaters around to enjoy any type of cool weather. There is a variety of different seating options, from picnic tables to conversational clusters. Plenty of seating outside and on the side of the restaurant. There is a large smoker out front that is usually smoking, as it was the day we went. We ordered chips and queso, I had had a lunch prior so just nibbled, my niece got the grilled cheese with brisket and french fries. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal, and the chips and queso were good, as always. I ordered a beer which came with a large chilled goblet. Katy trail has a sizable bar inside where you can sit around the bar and ample seating inside. Got to love the Willie Nelson painting! Always a great experience and everything I've ever tried on the Katy trail menu has been amazing, from the chili to the burgers. The barbecue is great, servers are friendly. I've never had a bad experience there! Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great place to enjoy with your dog all year long, their patio area has many levels with picnic tables or patio chairs around a smaller table. If it is cold outside you can still enjoy under the patio heaters and blankets are provided. Service was outstanding, the menu isn’t extensive but everything we tried so far was on spot, the nachos with brisket where amazing!
Foods incredible and it’s such a great place to bring friends and family for drinks and food. Highly recommend checking it out. Service can be a little slow at times.
This was my first time at this location and I really enjoyed it! They have huge fans with misters and everything is shaded, couldn’t even tell it was 90 degrees out! Food and drinks are good and it’s very dog friendly. Prices are a little high for such a casual place but service was good. Highly recommend for a nice hangout on the patio!
We went here to have brunch because we were staying at a hotel nearby and needed a dog friendly patio that was HEATED. Well, it was beyond my expectations of a heated patio, each table has its own heater and blanket. So perfect!!! This place is always extremely dog friendly which makes me sooo happy. I think their chicken salad sandwich is the best I’ve had and my boyfriend had a burger- he thought it was great and he said the ranch was the best he’s ever had and he’s a crazy ranch guy!
We live in Ft Worth, but made the drive to hangout with a group of friends. The atmosphere and vibe were perfect, we had a great time. Our server was excellent handling our group of 12. I always enjoy when multiple team members run food and drinks. We loved it!
Favorite place to chill in Plano. Outdoor patio is well equipped with fan misters, fire pits, and heaters...they have all the seasons covered. BBQ is smoked on premises, they make their own sauce, which is perfect!! All their menu items are amazing. Great selection of craft beers and cocktails. Dogs are welcomed!! TVs all over. High five to the KT.
Frozen Margarita/swirl, and the giant sangria are my favorites here. Loaded cheese fries are also pretty good. I love the outdoor environment particularly in late spring/early autumn.
Great venue for a casual meal. Patio seating is unbeatable. Stand heaters keep the temperature warm in winter and misters make the heat bearable in summer. Brisket on the weekends is the best around and the service is great.
One of my favorites in Plano. Great outdoor area, pet and kid friendly. The bbq is amazing we really love the jalapeño sausage and my favorite is the basic chips, queso & guac. Service is generally great and the portions are worth the expense. Beer is always ice cold. BBQ is fresh and first come first served, we have come in a few times where they were out of a few things, kind of nice knowing things are prepared fresh that way. Highly recommend for game days!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a fantastic experience at Katy Trail Ice House Outpost! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff was incredibly friendly from the moment I walked in. They really made me feel at home and comfortable throughout my visit. What stood out the most was how attentive they were — repeatedly checking in to see if I needed anything and making sure I was enjoying my food. It never felt intrusive, just genuinely caring and thoughtful service. The food was delicious, the vibes were great, and the customer service was top-notch. It’s rare to find a place that treats you like family, but Katy Trail Ice House Outpost definitely delivers. Highly recommended — I’ll absolutely be coming back! 🍻🍔🔥
One of my favorite places to eat outside. They have a huge outdoor area covered under the shade of trees and lights. The food is always delicious and hot. I always get the loaded cheese fries to start, and the charro beans as a side. The wait staff is very attentive. It is also dog friendly. The atmosphere is family friendly and my husband enjoys watching sports on the outdoor tvs.
Walked in here on a Saturday at noon and the place was super busy. I think there was a party there. We sat at the bar. Got really good service here. Got the brisket queso and chips to start. They came out in minutes. We got the Texas select NA beer and this is the only NA beer they have on selection. It was good. I got the breakfast tacos. They were really good. I got them with brisket and it was a nice smoke flavor. My husband got the 2 meat brisket and sausage plate. The brisket on the plate was heavy on the fat. It was good, just could have been meatier. The Cole slaw was so good, very tangy. The charro beans were hot and really good but it was just too much food. All in all the service was so good and so fast I was impressed. If you sit at the bar you will feel the cold air everytime someone walks in so be advised. Good music. Great lighting and everyone was friendly. Parking was ample. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. We will return.
I thoroughly appreciated this much-needed break, and this venue proved to be the ideal location to unwind. Our entire group had a wonderful time. My beef fajita quesadilla was expertly prepared to my exact specifications. Given that everyone's meals were completely finished, it's clear that everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dining experience. Our attentive waitress struck the perfect balance, allowing us to enjoy our evening without interruptions while ensuring our drinks were always refilled. This establishment is undoubtedly an excellent choice for watching sports and socializing in a pleasant atmosphere.
Such a fun experience, indoor and outdoors they have heaters provided outside for cold days.

We had a really nice afternoon at Katy Outpost. It was cold and rainy which forced us inside, but it wasn't really a problem. We ate some yummy food, drank a bunch of beers and couldn't have been happier. We had jalapeno bottle caps, which were just friend jalapeno slices, but they were excellent and I could have eaten 10 baskets of them. Then we had some burgers which were HUGE and well cooked. Service was great and we had absolutely no complaints.
Pros: I really enjoy hanging out at Katy Trail Outpost. The vibes are good, the outdoor area is amazing and equipped with misters for the summer and heaters for the winter. They've got a few local craft brews to choose from, and their mixed drinks are fine. The reason to go here is mostly for the vibes. Cons: Be warned, however, that this is not a smoke-free venue. If you sit outside you're probably going home smelling like cigarettes. And children will likely be running around, so if that bothers you maybe go somewhere else.
We went on a very busy Friday afternoon. The food was good, but the server mixed up a few side orders.
This restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. My friend and I sat outside initially, but the wind suddenly blew 30 leaves in our direction, and then it started pouring...so we decided maybe eating indoors was the move. The quesadillas are really good! We also got chips with salsa and queso as well, and that was quite good as well. The main downside is that the costs are a bit on the higher side. That was probably the most expensive quesadilla I've had in awhile.
Nice place and atmosphere. Popular, so you may need to wait to get in. Burger, fries, and chips were all good.
Very similar vibe compared to the Dallas Katy Trial restaurant. The frozen drinks were strong and tasty, and the food was ok too. The service was good and the drinks and food came out really fast. Lots of seating as It was not a busy afternoon.
Ambience: Very Good; Service: Fair; Taste: Good; You have patio seating as well as a backyard style setting. These usually fill up quickly. The inside is good too. Service on seating is within a couple minutes. This is the only time service was quick. Otherwise you’ll have to keep searching for your waiter. If it’s crowded you are out of luck and you have to wait until the waiter chooses to show up. Service itself was pleasant, just too spaced out. You will be waiting way too long to place orders and it is unpleasant especially if you are in a group and you have nothing left on the table.
We had a great time at Katy Trail-Plano. This is such a great space with a combination of indoor and outdoor seating, large TVs, and a variety of seating options. We thought the food was just okay, but the service and the atmosphere made up for it. It’s a great place to watch the game!!
The chili was delicious! Wish the bowl was a little bigger. The Coney island dog was great and so where the fries.
A great casual bar that has both outside and indoor seating, and dog friendly (outside seating). The staff is nice and attentive. When the weather is right, we enjoy coming here to enjoy a few drinks and appetizers with our dog. This location is set up differently then the uptown location, but both are quite enjoyable. This location is nice… that if you’re hungry afterwards it is near several good restaurants, including Meso Maya and Pie Tap.
A group of 4 of us stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. It was pretty crowded but there was still a lot of seating available outside. It was about 84F but since there are lots of trees, it didn’t feel hot. They have TV’s on so you can watch your favorite sports. My wife and I had the loaded Queso and chips, Beer venison chili and Gumbo and all of it was very good. We also had some drinks. The Hefeweizen I had was really good. The couple we were with brought their dog and there were lots of other dogs there. Our server was great, she was happy and seemed to be enjoying her job. I would dine here again and recommend this place. The bill for four of us was $122 before tip.
Service is absolute night and day compared to the uptown location. Uptown location servers don’t care at all. That location can afford to not care because of how good the location and physical space is. This Outpost location either has a better management team or just got lucky with better employees….or both. My only criticism is how loud the patio is with the fans on. You can’t hear music or even people at your own table. I always enjoy the music Katy Trail plays and would enjoy hearing it when fans are on. It would be like sitting next to your washing machine while you’re trying to enjoy dinner and drinks. Please please please come up with a better solution. Best of luck.

Food and service were amazing. The weather was great too. Our group of 17 had a great lunch!

Unfortunately, they've brought the worst aspect of the Dallas location to Plano: assigned seating. Gone are the days of being able to walk around to see if you know anyone to sit next to or with, sitting by the cute dogs, finding the perfect shady spot or view of the TVs, or just sitting amongst the crowd. The poor hostesses too... I watched 6 groups ask to be sat at a different table than their assigned one. They've put a lot of effort into building an expansion with a variety of seating options, but they aren't letting people explore it.
We come here frequently for drinks after work. The new patio expansion is beautiful, but it's still Texas and regardless of the size of the patio and number of misters, etc., I'm not sitting outside in the middle of summer unless it's by a pool 😎. Very dog friendly, but unfortunately the ground is all dirt/rock so I don't like to bring my dog or else she'll get filthy and I'll have to give her a bath. The beer and food menu are both "ok" at best, I'd appreciate some more healthy menu options especially for appetizers, it's pretty much just chips and queso or fried options. I'll continue coming back for drinks because it's very close to me, but there's certainly better places if you want good food or don't care about the patio. Great atmosphere for football season, though!
Fodo is mid, service is very messy, and the atmosphere is noisy and (too drunk-type). People love to go there for beers and quick snacks, but that doesn't make the place good for food (or drinks). It's just an average place with average food and pricey for what it is.
meh, great if you're part of the elite 😘 I'm a mear starving artist. And ya'll can't take your eyes off me. You're welcome 😅
Slooooow. Im trying to be nice because it was a Saturday night, but sloooow. It was a good 30 minutes after sitting down before we were asked if we wanted something to drink. I had to flag someone down so we could order food. The drink and food i ordered they were out of adding more time. Maybe it just wasn't my night.
Food is AMAZING… portions are TERRIBLE. We ordered the Brisket Nachos and we got 6 chips…… SIX CHIPS for $15!!! What the heck!!!!!! See photo below I took after we started eating so sorry about that lol we still ate it because I was starving but honestly I should have sent it back and ordered something else :/ still good though no question about the quality. Just mad it was 6 chips only LOL
I love Katy Trail Outpost up until tonight. We had a less than adequate experience. They have expanded (which is great) Food prices increased (which I understand but portion size decreased) but my problem tonight was the “bouncer” at the entrance. We waited patiently for our table, it was a great night so understandably crowded. Once we got our table two of our party arrived a couple minutes later and he wouldn’t let them in to find us. he said to call me to ask our table number, I don’t know what table number we had. I had to walk to front to tell him they were with us! That’s crazy, we are in our 60’s not exactly teenagers trying to sneak in. There has to be a more customer friendly way to do this. Katy Trail, you have great patrons. Please figure out how to treat them with respect
Love the food, but when you start charging $2.00 for ranch dressing, it totally voids the positive food experience! There is no extra overinflated charge for Ketchup, so why is a preference for ranch somehow discriminated against. A better marketing technique would have been to raise the price of the food being served, rather than to embarrass your establishment by grossly overcharging for a condiment that is freely offered at other bars and restaurants. Obviously, you are trying to pay for your extensive renovations off the hard earned dollars of your well tipping and loyal customers! Very sad!
Really cool out door space to hangout. Dog friendly. VERY EXPENSIVE for what you get in return. $18 Appetizer Brisket Nachos are served on 6 chips, yes 6 bite sized chips to maybe feed a person of 1. The cocktails were mediocre but nothing to brag about. This would be a great spot to catch up with friends but definitely not a place you will expect to be leaving full
Katy Trail Outpost in Plano has great vibes — fun atmosphere, friendly service, and a solid place to kick back with friends. The energy here is definitely a highlight. As someone from Louisiana with pretty high standards for gumbo, I’ve got to say — theirs was actually pretty good. Good flavor, nice consistency… but $11 for a small cup is wild. And honestly, most of the menu feels on the high side price-wise. Still, if you don’t mind paying a little extra for the atmosphere and a good time, it’s worth checking out.
Most expensive bar food ever. Was recommended this place by my hair stylist who is located nearby. After watching the renovations for months, decided to go early on a Saturday since I’d heard it got super busy. It wasn’t bad and we found parking and walked right to a table. Got our food quickly. I had heard it was a bit pricey and that was the truth! $16 for 6 nachos. Calling them nachos was a stretch, more like chips with toppings. My daughter got the Caesar salad which she liked. My husband got the Waygu slice plate and said it was the most grisly, unseasoned BBQ he had ever tasted. Same went for creamed corn and German mashed potatoes. Very disappointed and won’t be back. Not sure if food was better and less pricey before they renovated but it wasn’t great after. It is cute and the outdoor section seems fun but the food is not worth it.

Nice cold beer but paid $20 for the absolute worst brisket I’ve ever tasted. 2.5 stars.
Cannot believe these people charge $2 for a few tablespoons of ranch if you get fries as a side, especially given their already high prices for extremely basic bar food. We need Ozona (Dallas) or The Yard (McKinney) to open up in Plano.
First time here and the vibe was nice. The outdoor patio area was cool, nice you can bring dogs outside but every table we chose had bird poop on them so we decided to go indoors. Our waitress was nice and she seemed attentive to us. The food we ordered was just okay. We have had way better but we have also had worse. The brisket slices were a bit dry and tough and the ribs were also a little tough. The seasoning on the meat had way too much peppercorns so it made it a bit spicy and the bbq sauce was the same and it didn't have a good flavor. The coleslaw was different, it was pickled and it had a little too much vinegar. The charro bean soup had a good flavor. The brisket sandwich was just okay as well nothing to rave about. We didn't care too much about the food at this point because we were way too hungry as this was our second choice since our first choice we had to walk out on. If it's bbq you want unfortunately I would not suggest this place, maybe there are other items on the menu that is way better.
The service by Karalie was excellent. The food is some of the lowest quality you can imagine. It is like velvetta cheese, and canned jalapeno. The burger was dramatically disappointing. I will say the salsa had a little flavor thankfully. Overall, this place came highly recommend but we were very disappointed. Will give it a second attempt just for the BBQ.
This review would be like many other people's. Great food great atmosphere, terrible service. Waiter came around once every 10 to 15 minutes while other employees served us food and gave us requested items. Then we waited another 15 minutes just to get our bills. Disappointed and do not recommend the brisket queso and chips. It's literally a pinch of brisket placed on top of the cheese for $13 with a side of salsa. Unfortunately our waitress couldn't tell us what it actually was. The man versus food Burger was amazing and the onion rings were incredible. Five stars to the kitchen staff, one star to the waitress.
The food is good BUT..... it is SO expensive for what it is. 10 bucks for a a beer alone is insane. The servers all looks so bored and mad and almost never check on you. I cant really justify the price or service when I disappointed everytime
overpriced \n\nCrappy food\n\nPoor service\n\nAvoid for certain. Also they have construction going on all around the place. Little to comparing available at lunch time . Place is a mess .

We hadn't been here for awhile and now I see why we stopped. It wasn't busy inside yet no one would wait on us. 5 different waitresses walked by and would not look at us. I finally attempted to ask the waitress that waited on the table next to us. I said ma'am 3x and my husband called out too. She kept walking. It wasn't loud so I knew she heard us. We got up and walked out. We won't be back. BBQ isn't the best anyway.
Manager would not allow sound for the LSU game to be played even when multiple tables were asking for it and the restaurant was not busy. Waitress only checked on our table a handful of times, and while voicing our complaints the manager was dismissive.
Pretty crazy that this place does recent renovations. Then starts randomly up charging for ranch.. this place is already expensive but now they’re just nickel and dime-ing people. Won’t be back.
Eh there’s a lot more to be desired for - service is below par, prices and servers are iffy, and food is questionable. I was forced to be here for work but without a doubt I would never make a special trip to this place
Not a review person at all but thanks to the manager (shorter, glasses, a face only a mother could love) tonight (or whomever he was) I am leaving the current review. Came in with 6 adults 2 kids under 3 and 2 6 year old with Pokemon Go at the ready. The two smaller kids are running around accompanied by two adults in a section right beside us that was deemed closed off due to not serving there and we admittedly took responsibility for. But told if we could not control our kids then we would be asked to leave. So we happily ended our night early and bounced. Toddlers are just that and need the opportunity to let out energy, and yes we understand liability completely and even put it on ourselves if anything happened and had a 1 adult 1 kid ratio to help out because 90 of our table are currently in the service industry. So we get it, he may not have kids and is only about the company. Hopefully when he reads this, he’ll next time stop and try to remember that the patrons coming into the restaurant are the reason there is a business.
I've been to Katy Trail Icehouse in Plano twice since they've completed their recent renovations and expansion. Both times they were out of BBQ. What's the point of expanding the size of your restaurant if you don't keep enough food on hand to feed all your customers. I'll never go back.
If it’s not me I pray someone gets TJ removed from his position at the Plano Katy Trail location. I have never felt more disrespected or disregarded ever in my life. I am not sure why someone like this person would ever be in charge of one of my favorite places. He needs customer service guidance and HELP. There is no way this new location will grow with an employee like him. No thanks.
First of all, I NEVER write reviews, but this experience was so unacceptable I had no choice. We sat down expecting a normal meal, maybe a drink or two, instead, we got front-row seats to the "Ignore Your Customers" Olympics. Our waitress (Ava) bless her clueless little heart, must've thought she was auditioning for a disappearing act because she was gone more than she was around. TWO HOURS at this table, and all I managed to get was TWO beers. TWO. I had to physically go to the bar to get my own drinks like it was some kind of self-serve picnic. Pretty sure I clocked more steps than she did the whole night. If you're into playing hide-and-seek with your server and refilling your own drinks, this place is PERFECT. Otherwise, save yourself the time (and thirst) and go literally anywhere else. In conclusion, I enjoy Katy. However, this was a terrible experience. I should add, the last beverage took 19 minutes to arrive, and she forgot my beverage after serving the entire table before hand. Nothing else to say.
Not at all kid/toddler friendly. They do not have high chairs. Instead they have booster seats that they expect you to put on top of the picnic tables and there is no way to strap them down. This is incredibly unsafe for children and a liability for the restaurant. Our waitress also forgot to put our food order in with the kitchen so our food was extremely delayed. We watched another table pay their check without ever getting their food due to a long wait. Terrible, unsafe experience. Yikes.
Came in on a Tuesday night and saw the sign that said, “please seat yourself,” so I grabbed a table. 5 minutes later, a manager came over and told me that area was closed for a private event so I’d have to find a seat elsewhere. I told him no problem, and said I’m fine with a table anywhere outside. He then told me I was next up but… it’s first come first serve, so I have to find one. I looked around and said, “Ok, seems like I’m first. How can I lock up the next bussed table?” I was then told they’re short on bussers, so “I kind of just have to sit down when someone gets up.” So, a table of 5 got up and I asked a server if I could grab that table. She said yes and directed me to stand next to it and a busser would be over to clear it in a moment. 10 minutes later, my wife and son arrived, and still no busser. So we stood there for another 10 minutes and asked another server if someone would be over to clear the dirty dishes and old food any time soon. She told me, “Oh you just gotta push that off to the side and grab a seat.” I thought she was joking and just kind of stared. She then said, “Sorry, our dishwasher is suing us and it’s a crazy day. Here, I’ll help you,” and proceeded to grab a few of the dishes she could carry. Another 10 minutes and still no one to clear the rest of the food from the table. So since the sun set in the 40 minutes that I waited, we left and went to a burger joint down the road. I feel a bit weird writing this, as I normally only write Google reviews to recognize great service and commend local business. But… this was too wild not to document. I’ve been a server, bartender, bouncer, and manager. Any one of my bosses would’ve roundhouse kicked me in the face if I’d ever told a guest to buss their own table and have a seat. That’s before even talking about the lack of host/hostess, seating chart, “section closed” sign, or management presence. Abso. Lutely. Wild.
If you are going to Auto Grat a $600 tab (really any tab) you should most definitely tell your table you’re doing that. It is extremely shady to keep that from your customers. You know what you’re doing. On top of that, if a server has that in their back pocket it gives them every reason to give crap service because they know they will get 20%. We got both of these thrown at us. I understand Auto grat to a certain extend because well ppl suck, but don’t take advantage of ppl. Almost tipped an extra $120 for crap service. Food was surprisingly really good. I’ll give them that.
Love this place, but will not be back. Went there with ~30 people after work and was told they will not do multiple checks. So we decided to just go to the bar and order and they said they will not serve our group since we had multiple tables, “you need to order from your waitress”. Told the bartender that makes no sense, maybe we should leave. His words “That’s fine, go ahead.” So we finished our drinks and all left for another bar to have a drink and dinner. Very poor customer service.
We were there tonight, and unfortunately one of the staff members was extremely rude and unprofessional. The way they spoke to us was not acceptable at all and definitely not what you expect from a customer service standpoint at an American restaurant. This happened in front of other customers, which was honestly embarrassing for us. I really hope this behavior doesn’t happen again and that staff are trained to be more respectful and professional.
The place is beautiful—lots of outdoor space and trees all around. The food was good, at least what we got to try. We went with a group that included several kids (more than five between 6 and 8 years old), so we expected they’d be able to hang out and play, but that wasn’t really possible. Of course, with trees around, the kids tried to climb one, and a staff member told us WE’d be charged $10,000 if the TREE got damaged. I get that they want to avoid any risk of someone getting hurt and possibly suing them, but honestly, just asking us not to let the kids climb would’ve been enough. No need for scary threats. Later, the kids started playing (we were in a quiet, separate area with no other guests nearby), and again we were told off—this time because kids aren’t allowed to run at the restaurant. They were just playing hide-and-seek, not bothering anyone but us. Again, I get the safety concern, but as parents, we know kids will be kids—they can fall and bump into things anywhere. In the end, we left after just having the starters (which were really good, by the way). The place is lovely, and the food might be great, but it’s definitely NOT kid-friendly for children between 3 and 12—especially kids who like to run around, play, and have fun without screens.
