Good food, not a lot of food options but the Burger was good. They made it how I wanted it and the atmosphere was good. Service was good overall. 100% recommending.

Awesome service. I went on my 21st birthday and had a great time. Waitress was very nice. Drinks and burgers were fire. 🔥 Unlike some other Islands locations, the fries here were perfectly cooked. To top it off, they even gave me a full birthday brownie-ice cream dessert which I wasn't expecting. Would highly recommend.

Went here recently to watch the MLB NLCS with Dodgers and Mets. Fun to sit at the bar and sip a beer while watching the games with other fans. The fans were solid without being out of control or obnoxious. So very fun in my opinion. The bartenders are attentive and nice. Janny is a sweet one.

Arrived at the restaurant at it looked busy. Was told it was a 20 minute wait and that's what our party of 5 waited. Service was great and our food came out promptly. We had one small issue that was quickly resolved. Everyone was happy with their dish and service received.

First time at this Islands location. Consistently good food. Blue-Nami Burger always my go-to (with fries) and didn't disappoint. We were immediately seated and server prompt taking our orders. No issues. Full tummies. Definitely be back.

We’d had a couple of very bad experiences here. Terrible service and the food was not good. However, we just tried it again after 2 years and it was excellent. We were met with a smile when we entered the restaurant. The food was very good and our server who was also managing the bar area was wonderful. We’ll definitely begin to come to this restaurant again.

I don't expect much when I eat out at a restaurant -- common courtesy, kindness, attentiveness, etc. That's what we got here. Went in the middle of the day and you can tell the waitress was already so tired, regardless, she was amazing. I actually get the same thing here everytime and it's always on point. Carnitas tacos.

I love this food. The French fries are delicious and the burgers were wonderful. It is a busy restaurant and you may have to wait a bit. But we'll worth the wait. The servers are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit.

Been coming here during the week for their happy hour for some time. The food is standard Island's...no, it won't win awards for amazing health, but with moderation you can't go wrong. The beer selection is good, and their own beers are personally the way to go...arriving in wonderfully frosted mugs. The happy hour is standard time wise (ends at 6:30 but is extended until closing during football season on Mondays and Thursdays). This Island's is always kept clean (including the restroom). The staff here are great and super friendly.

Islands is one of our favorite places to go. This time we went for Leo's birthday. We shared a salad, and then had his FREE dessert. We love their Kona pie, it's even better than the Kona pie we had on Maui. Our waitress Dea was a total sweetheart and took really good care of us. The Islands in Porter Ranch has an outside patio and we always like to sit out there. It's just a little bit quieter.

My husband and I came into islands last weekend and we were so grateful to be sat quickly and in Maddy’s section. She greeted us with a smile and had our drinks and food out very quickly despite her full section of tables. I also have food allergies and she ensured me the food would be prepared safely, and it was! Maddy also spent time chatting with us at our table and made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. We both used to serve and know how hard it is having a full section, getting food out correctly and quickly, and making a good impression on each person that walks in. We will ask for her every time we return to islands in porter ranch!

I am always loved Islands burgers today we took over 87 year old and out for lunch and we really enjoyed everything the food was extremely yummy and the drinks were delicious islands is always been a part of my childhood very sad that the one in Westlake on Pico closed shortly after I lost my mother six and a half years ago !

We had a great turkey burger with sweet potato fries and garden salad today it was absolutely excellent our waitress was Ashley and she was so good that we called her manager over and he was so happy that we were telling him about her! My partner also told Ashley it was my birthday and we could not believe the free dessert they brought us plenty for two people two scoops of vanilla ice cream tons of whipped cream chocolate syrup all sitting on top of a delicious brownie unfortunately I forgot to get a picture but trust me go there for your birthday it is totally worth it. I found myself at Island's, where I indulged in a Chicken Caesar salad and a comforting cup of tortilla soup. I also treated myself to Kona pie and a refreshing iced tea. The best part about dining alone? No competition for the cherry on top of the pie—my sweet victory! But on the flip side, the worst part? I’m also the only one fighting to pay the check. With great service, delicious food, and an atmosphere that feels like a mini-vacation, I left feeling like a culinary winner. Between the soup, salad, and pie, I definitely had a trifecta of taste. Really great food, fantastic service, easy parking, huge menu. They get super busy on the weekend. Don't want to wait? Great tip is to eat in the bar area. Worked really well for me plus I got to watch surfing and football at the same time. The seasonal strawberry salad is loaded with chicken, super tasty with the almonds, loved the dressing. Finally decided to get more fries.... no more bottomless fries. I'm too late. Stores nearby. If you eat too much you can walk it off.

Place was nice, with interesting design, good customer service, food was ok, I got flour tacos with chicken and teriyaki sauce, too much teriyaki, got saggy really quick, and my friend had fried fish tacos they were really dry but margarita was good. Outdoor patio really nice for warm weather.

I had a good, comfort food AND vegetarian experience at Islands in Porter Ranch where the staff is super, super friendly. They’ve got lots of beer options on tap and in bottles, plus margaritas. I had a Blue Moon which was served in a proper beer stein with a handle. (Sometimes serving a beverage in its proper glass make all the difference. You can get a veggie burger on any of their many burger options, and they’re happy to customize it anyway you want. They also have gluten-free buns available in case that’s your diet…an there are other vegetarian options including a "Beach Bowl” with rice, and various vegetables, along with “no blame” grilled veggie tacos. I had the Mavericks burger which comes with barbecue sauce, Island reds (crispy onions) lettuce, tomato and pickles. I had them take out the mayo and sub cheddar for the American cheese, with a veggie patty. My waitress wanted me to pay special note to the volume of the burger when ot came out, and it was quite large which we both found exciting. It tasted great too. It’s a standard Garden Burger variety veggie burger. I wonder when more restaurants will start to offer a default veggie burger option like the “Impossible Burger and/or “Beyond Meat”, both of which better simulates an actual burger.?) I really enjoyed it. They also offer “endless” fries which honestly felt like too much of a commitment for me but they also tasted great. Islands is a great place to go for a vegetarian comfort meal and a beer.

Very good lunch, I had the tuna melt. The bread had an excellent Parmesan crust. The fries were served hot and crispy. Nash provided better than average service, asking us if we wanted a drink-to-go. Recommended.

Food was delicious and waitress was great. Problems were with the runners. Drinks didn't arrive until the entrees arrived. Appetizer, the same. 2nd straight visit where kitchen/runner issues affected the meal. Love the place and food, would like for the kinks to be worked out.

I had an enjoyable experience here. Looks like they have a full bar with some TVs to watch games. We started with the nachos which were good. The burgers are nice size. Not huge, but a good size. My wife had the Wigui Wagui salad and recommend getting the BBQ sauce on the side. She said they put a lot on the salad and it over powers the salad. I had the Maui burger with added bacon. It was really good, but the bacon was really crispy. Lots of parking.

Went on a Sunday afternoon and pleasantly surprised by no wait time for seating, chose to sit in the bar which is open seating if available. The place is spacious clean and greeting was quick. Did have to wait a while for a return for the order to be taken. Food is good here, I tried something I hadn't tried before, the Moa Crispy Chicken sandwich and it was well prepared and flavorful. Fries portions were sufficient, seems they used to be more, and I didn't ask if refills are available (think they used to be refillable). Waited a while for the bill as well. Nice visit.

I’ve been to islands plenty of times but this was my first time at this location. I like islands because their quality of food is usually really good but this time I was a little disappointed. I ordered the Kilauea burger with avocado 🥑. I was really disappointed by the quality and quantity of the avocado. The food tasted okay but was not something I would want to eat again. I’m a foodie but everything isn’t worth the calories.

I've been to several ISLANDS RESTAURANTS. These upscale, American style eateries are quite good. On a 105° July afternoon, we arrived at Island's air conditioned Northridge Restaurant. The walk across the free parking lot was uncomfortably hot. Entering the eatery, we found the dining area to be cool and comfortable. An overflow crowd waited in a not quite cool anteroom. We came to pick up a phone order. The carryout was being assembled when we arrived. It was double checked and found correct as ordered. Returning home we unpacked our carryout. After a twenty minute drive, in our air-conditioned car, the protected meals maintained their serving temperatures. Each item was protected in temperature controlling packaging: deep bowls for the chilled salads, flat divided containers for the burgers, and a flat covered tray for the sliders. The takeaway bag also contained plastic utensils, napkins, salt, ketchup, and barbecue sauce. It was a good meal. STUFF: Everything is ADA compatible. Was staying in the local area. We were gonna go eat there for a quick dinner around 16:30hrs. & after calling and finding out it would be a 45 minute wait we decided we would stay at one of the many local hotels 10 minutes away. After calling in our order for pick up, the prices were great. The quality of the food was outstanding, I mean by the time we returned to our hotel & opened up the “to go” container the food was still piping hot. This is a restaurant where if you ask for extra napkins, let’s just say THEY GIVE YOU extra napkins unlike some of these rinky-dink restaurants/fast food joints where these people understand especially if you have kids with you. Fellow parents know what I mean. :) The fries were not overcooked nor undercooked crispy yet not soggy as they were just right. Greeted with a hello, how are you? How can I help you attitude and management even assisting when a server needed back up, bringing food to a table so every customer didn’t have extra wait time for their food. I will definitely return to this location.

We came on a Tuesday evening and were seated right away. The service was really great and the place was clean. I'm giving it 4/5 stars because the food was just okay. I ordered the kalua tacos and the pork was a bit too smoky for me but it was tender. I smelled like a bonfire after haha. The cabbage and avocado were fresh but the tacos were missing the grilled onions. The tortillas were thick with a gummy texture and had no flavor (they needed salt). The salsa verde it came with was really good. Overall, the tacos were just lacking. My husband ordered the yaki tacos, which are what he has always ordered. He said they were just as he remembered in his college days. The salsa verde went well on his tacos too. He also ordered a beer that was so cold it had floating icicles, we thought this was a good thing fyi! We shared a small order of fries which were decent but not that crispy. Their table "secret seasoning" was good on the fries. We will go again but likely order different plates.

I hadn’t been to Islands in years, so it was time to come back. I knew this location is particularly busy on weekends, so I came during the week, and there was no wait. Our server, Aaron, was the highlight of our visit. He was very friendly. I ordered the Hula Burger ($17.99) and substituted the Swiss cheese for cheddar. All my friends had a side of fries with their meals, and I’m not sure what was wrong with mine, but they were incredibly salty. I even had the others try them to make sure I wasn’t overthinking it before I said something. They all agreed they tasted off and didn’t match the flavor of theirs. I told Aaron, and they made me a fresh set of fries, which were 1000% better. I don’t often drink alcohol, but it seems like a lot of people come here for the cocktails. They looked super cute! I’m sure they can make a mocktail if you ask. *all burgers you can choose a white or wheat bun *you can upgrade any burger to a gluten bun

We stopped by for lunch at Islands and were seated quickly. They were very accommodating with my order requests and the food came out in a reasonable time. Very few spots top the lemonade game that Islands brings to the table and the burgers and chicken sandwich (I got mine lettuce wrapped were tasty. The waitress was okay, however it seemed a bit chaotic despite a slow restaurant that we had 3 different people check in on us and help us with something. My only major complaint and I won't knock them too much is that we had a table chugging beers, yelling and banging on the tables and it's 2pm on a weekday plus the table behind us had let their 2 kids loose and they were running around the restaurant screaming. Not an Islands issue but neither party was ever told anything. Not a reason to never go back but I'll definitely join them for the night shift.

We came here after our daughters award ceremony at Cal State Northridge. It was first time at this location and haven’t been to a Islands Restaurant in 20 years. We were seated right away. We ordered drinks including 2 margaritas and were not great. I had all you can eat chicken tortilla soup and I had 3 bowls. Everyone else got hamburgers. We started with nacho appetizer which was good! The service was a bit lacking. We were disappointed a few times, the food was okay and overall so-so experience

What you'd expect. Service was the best part of it, but that was 100% due to the staff member we got. Their take on an old fashioned was surprisingly good. Food was fine, but it's so loud inside. Between the music blasting at you as you walk in the door to the speakers places every six feet around the room, don't plan on having a conversation (but let's be clear, who tries to have a conversation here?!).

The food was ok nothing to go on about. But to spend 25 dollars for a hamburger fries and a drink was a little to much. On top of that the fries were cold and they served what they called ranch dressing with them. I never had ranch dressing served to me that was almost like water. There are some fast food places that make and servere better food then what I had.

The service is really bad overall. They brought the food before the appetizers. The kids food took forever to come. They didn't refill the drinks, and it seemed impossible to flag anyone to get the check for like 20 min. It was overpriced and while not terrible, certainly not worth the price. I could've had a lot of sushi for what I paid for a kid menudo and 2 adults. (73 plus tip)

What I love about Islands is how impeccably clean their restaurants are. I used to see them go down with a flashlight 🔦 to check for crumbs under the seats. I'm sad, however, that the quality of the food has gone down. I paid extra for a GF bun that was lackluster. I paid extra for sweet potato fries that were partially raw. I may not come back. For what we pay, the burgers should be better than In-N-Out.

Really enjoyed our visit to Islands Northridge. Great food, attentive staff, and a fun, relaxed vibe. A good neighborhood place to grab a meal.

To a typical patron who can eat it all, this is a great place. For a vegan with food allergies it's not so great. Most everything either contains soy or dairy products.

This Islands is what you typically expect from the chain. It's a surf themed restaurant, burgers and fish taco thing going on. Take it or leave it, that's why I gave them three stars. During the lunch crowd you'll get a lot of office workers that come in here in the neighboring area. Early dinner crowd is more of a family place, couples date night vibe. The Bar: Don't expect any kind of singles scene here. It could happen, total fluke kind of thing, like if it was somebody's birthday party??? Came in today for the Happy Hour specials. Nice choices both for food and beverages. Beachside Sliders: if you took all three of them and can bind them together, it would be about the size of a regular burger. You do have to specify if you want cheese or not, which cost about a dollar extra. I do like the crunch of the fried onions, and the burger was tasty. Problem here is that they are really thin, so they cook too fast. One of them was medium, and the other two were probably closer to well done. Island Nachos: Need to specify if you want chicken added for $2 more. They we're like buying tortilla chips at the market, then throwing sliced processed cheese on top. Nothing fancy. It does come with a dollop of sour cream and a dollop of guacamole. Service: Our bartender was on point, really helpful, made a few suggestions. Nachos and Sliders took about 20 minutes to serve though, and the place was at 40% capacity. So does it really take that long to throw food on the plate that's probably already precooked anyway???? Parking lot is free and Big. Might come back here, might not. It would have to be for some birthday party or something. ;)

It's a nice restaurant but honestly didn't surprised me. I went here for my birthday. I got a Pipeline burger, the flavor of the meat and the chilli were good but the bun was too thick. We had a Kilauea burger and it was not so good since it was supposed to have jalapeno peppers and didn't find any, or didn't taste any chipotle aioli. The onion rings and fries were good. They gave me a small dish of ice cream for my birthday Wich was nice but honestly I wouldn't come back because I think the bread overwhelms the burgers. It wasn't a busy night but the food did take a little long to come, maybe they were short staffed but I didn't really mind.

I went here because there was a recent posting online that Islands serves a grass fed burger. I asked the waiter about it, and he said the closest thing to a grass fed burger is their impossible burger. Bless his heart... I should have walked out at that point and gone to Chipotle next door. Instead, I thought I'd try their teriyaki chicken bowl. The funny thing is they clearly microwave the premade bowls, yet it took more than 20 mins to come out. The food was scorching hot on top and room temp on the bottom. The pineapple chunks didn't taste like pineapples at all, ZERO flavor. The overall dish was a 3 out of 10. Incredibly underwhelming and disappointing. To spend $40 on 2 bowls and 1 drink. So not worth it. Just stick to their unhealthy options I guess, like burgers and fries. There's a reason these chain restaurants are struggling. They're serving crap and aren't keeping up with the times and wants most healthy eaters want. Fresh, good, tasty, organic grass fed beef! And pasture raised chicken, etc.

Went on a tuesday night around 7pm, july 22nd. Service was very slow, waitress was slow, socializing with friends and not very attentive. Fries were cold and stale. They brought out replacements, they were still cold and hard. Burger bun was cold and overall not good compared to previous visits. Overall poor experience. Would not go back.

Service was extremely slow, took 15mins just to wave down a server. Didn’t have a line either If you don’t mind sitting around and watching sports this is your place. Those who want to dine in, go somewhere else to eat a burger.

Food is greasy. Service is just ok, they appear understaffed. One dish was ill cooked and removed from the bill. Although the onion rings were great.

Burnt sliders with patties dry as cardboard. Buffalo wings that have been boiled in water and not oven baked. No crispiness whatsoever, no carrots. The entire takeout order ended up in trash. Disgusting food.

Islands has gone way down hill. Our food was cold. My husband didn’t even get his food until we asked twice. They brought us food that we didn’t order. The waiter never checked on us. He basically did nothing except take our order. He walked around stroking his hair with his hand. Gross! We had to flag him down to get refills which took about 10 minutes. We asked twice and he just said “they” will be bring it out when it’s ready. Refills on water should not take that long?! My daughter got the wings and she said it’s not the same, didn’t taste good. The teriyaki sauce is not nearly as good as it used to be. And prices are way up!!! We never not left a tip before, until tonight. Not going back. What a shame!

The take out service is horrible. I stood there waiting for help for what felt like 15 minutes. Workers kept passing by and not even one person said I will be right with you until finally a manager came. Also my order wasn’t ready although it should have been and I stood there even longer. It is also frustrating when the order is done and sitting there on a table and no one tells you it’s ready. And this has happened numerous times.

I was just there on June 17 and it was the most horrible experience ever, don’t get me wrong the customer service was very friendly however the food just wasn’t so great and don’t get me started on the drinks. First al they gave my cheese fries to a different table so I had to wait longer for them then they brought me my burger and it was something I didn’t order so I had to wait even longer for that then they brought me my cheese fries so by the time they brought the burger I was full with the cheese fries so wasn’t able to enjoy the burger and the fact that I had to pay so much for this trash it’s even more disappointing. I used to love going to Islands but lately they just lack on quality.

I ordered the chicken tacos. The tortilla was old and there was very little chicken in the taco. I ended up eating one and throwing out the remaining. The artichoke dip barely had artichoke in it. It was alll spinach. Very disappointed and will not be returning.

Avoid this place. Dont understand the hype at all. The ceasar salad is mid to bad would not be getting that drenched soggy salad ever again. The fish tacos horrible. Soggy fried tortilla shell. The kids meal we were told are unlimited fries no one came to offer more. When my kids had finished there meals. We tried the pina colada they were alright. But the worst of it all was we all got food poisioned from this place. We all felt horrible coming home from this place. Maybe the kitchen staff is unsanitary or idk what happned. But do not come here. When walking out there was a 45 min wait. But honestly idk why. This place is not worth it anymore.

Came here on a Tuesday night, Ordered a burger. I waited 25 minutes with the restaurant at 20% capacity with staff just standing around. Do better

Ordered burgers … Brioche bun was heavily oiled and had unpleasant taste, heavily spread with mustard ..in fact mustard was all I could taste..Fries were from the bottom of bag and oil they were fried in too dark and with bitter taste.

Food and service not good, have been to their other locations and they were the creme de la creme all the way around. Very disappointed with this location will not be going back.
