new favorite brunch spot! cannot wait to come back and try even more. every bite was so thoughtful and delicious. perfect compotes, labne & flavors all around. latke fries & cornbread were 10/10! loved the dutch baby and khachapuri as well, all so unique. we got these 4 plates for 3 of us and it was great to share with no crumbs left :)

Yalla is one of our favorite neighborhood spots. Whether we’re coming for brunch or dinner, the food is consistently excellent and thoughtfully done. The staff is always kind and welcoming, which makes the whole experience feel relaxed and easy. It’s a place we love bringing friends to, and it’s just as perfect for a cozy date. Truly one of our favorite places in Portland.

Sunday brunch, yes please! The food was INCREDIBLE! Each dish came out 1 by 1 and each was better than the last. We had the dutch baby (fruity but suble almost like an crepe version of a danish), Schmaltz cornbread (slightly sweet and savory and light and fluffy), fried chicken (juicy and perfectly crisp skin) and waffles and lastly the Khachapuri (creamy, citrusy, this one really had my taste buds zing). You can't go wrong with any of these dishes. They are MUST haves. My husband and I cannot wait to go again! Wow, just wow!!

We had a great dinner at Yalla. All of the food was delicious. And their hummus is amazingly silky. Also their pita is to die for! And don't sleep on the cornbread. It's al the end of the menu as a side but we ate it as a dessert.

We have been to Yalla many times and the food always blow our minds. Always hits the spot! We always try to get different items when we go. This week when we went we ordered the Hummus with Burnt Beef Ends & Cornbread which are a must every time. And tried a couple new (for us) items: the fried chicken and the autumn ragu. The fried chicken was perfection! The autumn ragu was our least favorite but it was still good just paled in comparison to the rest. For drinks we got the Toddy with a Body (hot) & a chamomile tea, perfect for the cold winter night.

This was one of the best meals my partner and I have had, and that’s saying a lot considering we’ve lived in 4 major cities in the past 6 years as foodies. We started off with cocktails — the Turkish Espresso Manhattan and Kissed by a Rose — and were incredibly impressed by both of ours. In fact, I turned to my partner and said, we need to come here just for the bar. Both were leaning sweet, but nothing extreme. They were both very well balanced, so hats off to the drinks curator. For food, we got the Mustard Greens, Gathering Together Greens salad, Shakshuka, and Khachapuri. They also brought out a complimentary order of toast with goat cheese, harissa, honeyed walnuts. Everything was incredible, salted, spiced and balanced perfectly. The mustard greens were citrusy and earthy. The salad was refreshing and creamy without being overwhelming. The harissa toast had the perfect amount of honey drizzle, enough to complement the spice without being sweet, and the bread was hearty with a crust but not hard to cut into. By the time we got to the entrees, we had let them sit for a second so the egg in the Shakshuka and Khachapuri had hardened, so I recommend the waiters let the diners know to not let it sit. But regardless, we could tell it would have been dreamy (and still was). They were both seasoned and cooked to perfection. We ended on some wine and the Dutch Baby dessert. They had a good variety of wines to select, so both of us were able to find something we liked. The Dutch Baby well-baked but a bit overly sweet despite the labneh providing some much needed sourness. I think it could have used some mint, nuts, or citrus to cut through it. We sat at the bar and the bartender was kind and attentive. We altogether spent 170 on the food and 5 drinks, which I think is a good price, and we ended up taking half of nearly everything home. We will definitely be coming back!

From the menu to the service to the unbelievable flavors this was worth spending a few extra minutes. I loved the chunk brisket hash and we were able to try a new dish from the chef. Amazing chili sweet potato pistachio… go twice

Oh my….. My pal and I went there yesterday for brunch and had such a lovely experience! They take reservations, we didn’t have one, but managed to come at a slow time and were able to get a table in the bar straight away. The staff were very welcoming and everyone was helpful. After being seated they brought us water and gave us time to look at the menu without feeling rushed. They took our drink orders (I had the Turkish Coffee and she had the Bloody Mary) and then we decided our menu while waiting. As it was described by our server, traditionally the items are intended to be shared family style, so we decided to get the Dutch Baby, the Rise and Shine Hummus plate with pita bread (our servers recommendation) along with the Fried Chicken and Waffles. The beverages: Turkish coffee: this was my first time having it- it had vanilla and cardamom in it. I did ask for a side of cream since coffee can be hard on my stomach, but mama didn’t raise no quitter. I was instructed to pour the coffee slowly into my glass from the percolator and did a terrible job by doing it too slow and started to make a mess. Our server was amazing as came to my rescue and poured the coffee for me and didn’t make me feel bad about it. Truly some of the best coffee I have ever had. The Bloody Mary: Per my pal, she said it was high top three the has ever had and she has high standards and is very particular. There were nice vegetables and I think her favorite was the turmeric cauliflower. She said it almost tasted like pizza with a focus on basil. I was sad not to try it myself, but next time for sure! On to the food! The Rise and Shine plate was the first to come and wow! Hummus, tahini, chili oil, and soft boiled egg It was not spicy, just so flavorful. My only gripe here is it’s a decent amount of hummus and you get one piece of pita with it. They asked if we wanted a second piece of pita and we happily agreed, only to find that a charge at the end of the meal. Just be prepared. Worth it? Yes, but a heads up would have been great. We were already getting full off of this. The pita is really thick, pillowy and warm. The Dutch Baby: mind blown. I had never had one of these before and omg. So. Damn. Good. There was blood orange chunks and honey with a honey labneh (thick greek style yogurt with honey in it) and I cannot imagine anything better. I wasn’t sure what to expect but wow. It was about 6 inches or so and many people told me this was way smaller than most places, but for this, quality over quantity any day. It was amazing! Based on the taste alone I swear I could have eaten 5 of those alone! The Chicken and Waffle: again….mind BLOWN. They brought this out last. It had a sumac butter, a smoked maple syrup, a crunchy waffle (yes you read that correctly- it was still crunchy from the waffle iron!), three pieces of fried chicken thigh, and a sunny side egg. The only thing I would change would be an over easy egg. Not a fan of sunny side, but it was still good. The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and it was so good with a drizzle of the maple syrup! I know it might be blasphemous for some, but I am not a fan of butter in general so I didn’t try it. My pal said it was really good- spiced and salty which elevated the savory-sweet combo. The waffle still being crunchy was amazing. The smoked maple syrup was so good. All in all, our bill came to just over $80 without tip. Worth it? Absolutely. I recommend getting a few items to share to be able to try all the things. I can’t wait to go back and try different menu items. Also, put in a reservation just in case, and note- parking sucks ass, but the wait staff, the very efficient kitchen staff and the food make it all worth it.

This place is doing Mediterranean food a great service. Wow, we had heard great things from friends about this spot and it certainly lived up tot he hype. We came in for a celebratory dinner last week and had a reservation for the back patio. I’d definitely encourage reservations as the place fills up quickly. The inside of the restaurant had a charming rustic decor and smelled amazing with aromatic spices wafting from the kitchen. We were seated on the back patio which is a quaint space with a wood overhang and probably about 8 tables. It was a perfect evening and warm enough to enjoy eating outside. I’ll note they do have heaters for cooler nights. Food wise we went with the fried chicken, corn bread, corn ribs, peaches, burnt end hummus and the kebab. Everything was fantastic. Standouts were definitely the hummus, which maybe was the best I’ve ever had, as well as the fried chicken. Everything had rich flavor and was easy to share which was perfect. The drinks we had were also tasty and added to the meal. The service overall was solid. Waiter was attentive and helped determine the right number of dishes. I would say you can get away with probably a few more than recommended. We were initially told 4 plates would be good but got 6 and wound up being full but still happy we got an extra 2. Will definitely be going back here and can’t wait to try more for the menu!

god the food here was amazing….i haven’t had a weekend day off in months so i heard about this place and decided to take a day off to try it. i’m so happy i did. i will bring more people here our server shannon (sp?) was super nice and attentive. i would 100% go there again solely for her vibe and willingness to help. the food?!? chefs back there know what they are doing. nothing needs salt or pepper. it’s flavorful and warm! thank yall for having us. we will be back. and with friends!!!!

Very rarely but I was so impressed by how delicious the food here was! It was absolutely the best pita I’d ever had - effusing aroma and sweetness of the grains - and paired with one of the best hummus. The fried chicken was no less impressive - so juicy and flavorful. And how wonderful it was to end with a slice of basque cheesecake made just right. Will come back!

I live in the neighborhood and didn’t come here for a long time because Mediterranean food isn’t my thing, but I’m so glad I finally gave it a try. We ordered 7 dishes for 3 people, which was 1-2 dishes too many but everything was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. My favorites were the roasted cauliflower, the cornbread and the green beans. The service and the vibes were great as well. Can’t wait to go back!

It's a pretty good place to get some Mediterranean food with a twist. The place has both indoor and covered patio seating, as well as a small bar area. We sat in the heated back patio. I really did enjoy the hummus with burnt beef ends and the lamb & beef Kebab. The fried chicken was nice and crispy, and the cornbread was rich in flavor. The drinks were also made pretty well. Overall, a great experience.

- brunch - Recommended 1-2 dishes per person ❤️Rise and shine hummus ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I adored this - the server recommended a side of cucumber with it and it was so necessary - super fresh and flavorful Shakshula royale with feta and merguez ⭐⭐⭐ - really good but not for me - wish it was a little more saucy, it was a bit hard for me - as a consequence I think I wouldn't add merguez next time - little expensive to add feta Khachapuri ⭐⭐⭐✨ - little salty for me - needed something but I'm not sure what Schmaltz cornbread ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - way too sweet for me but honestly is good if you're into that sort of thing - the schamtz was so savory and delicious

Radicchio salad was a crowd hit and a must try. The shakshuka is perfect -- not too sweet or acidic, well balanced and spiced. The falafel is full of flavor. In short, if you're craving good Mediterranean food, this is a spot to try. Great ambiance and service.

Such incredible food, from the side dishes to the main dishes. You could tell the amount of care the restaurant puts into their dishes. I never expected to order the fried chicken, but I did and I highly recommend it! I can’t wait to go back soon and try other items.

My husband and I recently ate here for our anniversary. We are huge foodies and have a fairly broad familiarity of the Portland food scene. Every single dish we ordered was fabulous. He is following a low carb diet and we were able to find lots of delicious things to eat for him and not feel like we were missing out. The cocktail that I had was also very good and I wasn’t sad to have the dessert all to myself.

FLAVORFUL BEAUTIFUL FOOD We had only dined here for supper in the past and definitely loved it, but now prefer to brunch here instead. Soooo many yummy dishes that are plated with care and crafted to delight your tastebuds. A little spendy, but worth it IMO to delight in what they offer on their menus. This is a great spot for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Service is typical Gen Z and leaves a lot to be desired in terms of having a positive attitude. They glared at customers and spoke negatively about them with each other. It would also be nice if they were a little more friendly with greeting customers and taking order at table. Service is adequate and that’s just fine if that’s what their management expects.

Rarely do I rate anything 5 stars.. I would give them 6 stars if I could! Yalla in Multnomah Village serves the best homemade hummus I’ve ever had.. super light and creamy, with a perfectly puffed piece of naan, so flavorful I just loved it. Extensive bar menu, I also tried their turmeric Mediterranean falafels with the most amazing, made from scratch sauces.. can’t recommend enough! Service was so welcoming and prompt, and the interior has a cool vintage vibe. They really care about serving amazing food and welcoming their customers, what a joy to eat here!

If you thought you’ve had good Mediterranean food before, you’re wrong. You need to get your foodie booty over to Yalla for a lovely date night meal! We ate our fill, and had plenty for leftovers too. Stand out dishes were the hummus with burnt ends (who would’ve thought that you could add smoked meat??), the fried chicken with light crispy breading and hot honey, and the cornbread itself was essentially dessert! Service was good (did not ever have to ask for water refills) and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, giving us great recommendations as well!

This was my second visit to Yalla and I was so excited to go back. My dinner mates and I basically skipped eating that day so that we could try as many dishes as we could. And boy did we do that. Every dish was amazing. The service impeccable. Can’t wait to go again. You must try this place!

Our first visit to Yalla was exceptional and we are already talking about what we’ll eat next time. Great food and cocktails. Terrific happy hour options. Trever took wonderful care of us at the bar, too.

Early New Years Eve dinner. They were packed. Completely nailed the quality and quantity. Short ribs, perfectly smoked, tender, delicious, off the hook. Two ribs were served, enough for two. Service outstanding, especially for a very busy night. Radicchio salad enough for two, although our friend ate the whole thing! The only miss was one entree didn't make it but due to the packed restaurant and holiday evening we let that slide. Warm Castelvetranos olives were great, fennel and apple salad good. Labneh with fresh faves beans really work due to the pomegranates. Cedar packed Salmon also fantastic. We will definitely be back and highly recommend.

A fantastic Mediterranean restaurant with great and quick service and very good drinks! They are able to develop a lot of good complex flavors in all of the dishes they serve. One of the few cocktail menus that is on brand to the restaurant theme and accompanies the food quite well!

Flavorful foods, with knowledgeable friendly staff. This place is known for shareable plates, but I thought the portions were a bit small.

We enjoyed an exquisite meal! Every entree and my cocktails exceeded my expectations. We shared all of our food and started with a radicchio salad dressed in a buttermilk dressing with rye bread crumbs followed by hummus topped with fresh summer peas and delicious warm pita bread! We then shared the smaller serving of smoked pastrami and rye bread and a smoked short rib that was seasoned with a green bean harissa and served with cous cous. The flavors were all delicious. I enjoyed the Yazarak cocktail (Yalla’s take on a (Sazerac). It was so good I had a second one. While I was really full, even taking the leftovers home, I shared a warm chocolate chip cookie that was sprinkled with sea salt. The service was wonderful! I am so excited to have this restaurant so close to home in Southwest Portland! I have a new favorite.

Yalla is another excellent addition to Multnomah Village in SW Portland. The food is Mediterranean inspired, but with a twist. We ordered the hummus appetizer along with three entrees, which we shared between three of us. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the homemade pastrami delicious, but the fried chicken stole the show. The cocktails were more than serviceable. I will be back.

Drove down from WA to try this restaurant after it was recommended. Service was great, friendly staff that all knew the menu and ingredients very well. Started with the humus and pita, which was AMAZING. I could eat that all day e’ryday! Had the bagel and lox, fries, Old school, and khachapuri. Everything we ate (between two of us!), was exceptional. We definitely can’t wait to come back for dinner! Highly recommend this restaurant and definitely worth the drive!

Visited Yalla during a recent trip to Portland. We were rewarded with excellent service, a fresh Mediterranean smokehouse menu, and overall great dining experience. Will visit again.

Middle Eastern inspired smokehouse and bar. The Good News: service is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is relaxing. The food was fantastic, particularly the smoked pastrami and the fried chicken ( which is not your grandma's southern fried chicken) The Bad News: while their cocktails 🍸 are absolutely beautiful, they're over sweet alcopops. Recommend you have a reservation if you have more than two people in your party or a child.

Delicious. This is my new go-to when I want something exceptional. Staff is on-point and truly cares about your dining experience. This is my 3rd time here and each one has left me satisfied and wanting more. Favorite salad (I’ve tried 3): Turkish Carrot Favorite Mezze: Hummus with Burnt Beef Ends (YUM!) The mains….jeeze you can’t go wrong. Below is a picture of the Grilled octopus I had and it was outstanding. Very tender, and the Yukon potato’s accompanied it so well, with the black tahini sauce. Also, if you’re here for happy hour, the current rotating cocktail is killer. I hope they put it on the everyday menu. Yum. Go here.

We always get the hummus with burnt beef ends and it never disappoints. The greens are always fresh and local. The mocktails are perfect and not too sweet. The lamb kebab is killer. The vibes in the dining room are always chill. Definitely a Portland staple.

veeerrrryy dim in this fine dining restaurant. old eyes beware. family and i came here at 5:30 for a reserved table. i ordered their hummus plate with pita. it came out looking rather tasty. pita was thick and warm and the hummus was the smoothest i’ve ever had. i also got their moroccan peppermint tea with dessert. all the other dessert dishes got their before the tea, which seemed odd. the tea, to me at least, was NOT peppermint. it tasted a lot like a cheap packet of green tea. it wasn’t good to be transparent. i told the waiter about it and he was super kind and gave me a to go cup of tea…but it tasted and smelled the same. either i don’t know what peppermint tastes like or their “moroccan mint tea” isn’t mint tea. other than the sad tea conundrum this is a delicious and fancy place.

Note: Longtime yalla dinner patrons, first time brunchers. Where to begin? We were greeted by a friendly bartender and a couple of Turkish coffees which set the tone for an exquisite breakfast. The hummus was fantastic. Reminiscent of a traditional yalla dinner, but the harissa oil and soft boiled egg added a fun breakfast twist. For our main course, we enjoyed the fried chicken and waffles. The butter, smoked syrup, and runny egg resulted in a rich mixture of heavenly goodness. 10/10

Family style Mediterranean. Expect $40-$50 per adult and expect to feel like it was worth it when you leave. Everyone in our party was very pleased. Back patio is heated and maybe TOO warm. We loved it.

Love Yalla. The food is always good. Unique dishes abound. I love the best catsup! The service is good here too but you might wait for awhile. It’s usually packed in there. Also I feel like they are closed a lot? Like maybe they are just opened for dinner? And always booked.

I love this place. Me and my family have been going here for quite some time and can all agree there their food is one of the best in the SW Portland area. We love going here. The food is great and the service is also very good. The outdoor patio can get a little bit chilly in the winter. But other than that we love this place.

W
William Aamold

I loved this restaurant so much the first time I came, and I still love it, but unfortunately every time I come I notice portion sizes getting smaller and sauce drizzles becoming less and less plentiful. Specifically the cornbread being put in a much smaller pan. Still love the flavors, just disappointing to not get the same experience as before. Update: Went back again and there was less butter on the cornbread making it so dry, and the portion shrinking changed the moisture levels so it's not even worth the 12 dollars anymore. So disappointing because I love this place.

Amazing food! I came here with my wife who is vegan, and our server was so kind to star and circle the menu items that were vegan or could be altered for a vegan diet. We’ll be back for sure!

So delicious 😋 and I have an uncommon food intolerance (onion) and they were so on top of helping me navigate the menu which has plenty of options to choose from. Best Bloody Mary I've had and everything was supremely tasty. A must try kinda place

Unmatched- hands down my favorite restaurant in Portland. Unique flavor profiles in a cozy, comfy atmosphere. Great prices and lots of veggie options. Brunch is awesome, but so is dinner. Delicious!

C

Quietly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The ribeye was spot on — beautifully seared, full of flavour, and cooked exactly right. Corn ribs? So tasty. Whoever decided to treat corn like that deserves a handshake. The wood plank salmon was tender, smoky, and confidently done without being over the top. Service was sharp, the atmosphere relaxed but intentional. No gimmicks, just seriously good food done well. Will definitely be back — probably sooner than I should.

Went for the first time here, and it was for brunch and all I can say is WOW!!! Their zero proof drinks were on point. We ordered about 5 plates for sharing and everything was so full of flavor, so delicious! Can't say anything about the dinner service but living way across town, I'd make the trek here again for the amazing brunch we had! Didn't take photos, too busy enjoying the company and food to feel the need to take photos. This seems like the place that's well documented anyway.

Great space with great vibe nestled in the village. The food here is incredible. Three of us shared family style: the hummus with burnt ends, mustard greens, roasted cauliflower , fried chicken and radicchio salad. Each dish was delicious. We ate everything. Thanks and Happy Holidays .

From start to finish an adventure for the palate! Our table of five shared choices from the menu - which is encouraged. Friday night was a noisy full house but service was efficient and we had a great birthday time. Frequent comments from our group of fussy diners: “Best I’ve ever had!” “You’ve got to try this!” “This flavor is amazing!” Note: only item we didn’t care for was the lamb kebab. The skillet cornbread was a show stopper! Bottom line: We’ll be back! 😉

Amazing food and great cocktails. Service was good and the ambience was nice with some good music. We ordered salads, mains and desserts to share. Spent about $45/person. Portion size is small for main dishes and salads.

R
Reem Jaber

Service and staff was great but food very mediocre. Favorite was the hummus but i wish there was more than a dollop to eat. Chicken was rubbery. I think i was mostly underwhelmed with the fusion part of it, it felt like a confused middle eastern approach. Wouldnt return.

A
Anthony Nguyen

Wildly disappointing. Server recommended Prime Rib, which was over 50% unrendered fat. Tiny portions. Heavy-handed pepper on Cacio e Pepe pasta. Overpriced. Could not be more more underwhelming. Never would recommend.
