Pelicano Restaurant

This used to be the Casbah/Kasbah but it is really a huge step up. The food was stunning and the service first class. We’ve been on the island for a week and this was by far the best meal so far - beef Wellington for me and delicious lamb for my better half. Cant recommend this place highly enough. A great find 😋👍

Absolutely beautiful food - from delicious tapas to classic dinners. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We keep coming back for lunch and dinner as it’s so good.

Great food, service and cocktails. Happy hour is good value for money. Will definitely be back next time we are in Lanzarote.

I’ve been coming to Puerto Calero for many years and stopped by this new place. Absolutely amazing delicious food and excellent service, by far the best restaurant in the marina and possibly in the island!! Thanks Maria for the hospitality and great food🙌

Went here on our first day for lunchtime drink and maria who served us was so friendly we decided to go back for dinner a few nights later - the food was amazing - roast lamb which just fell apart and the vegetables just right - not too al dente but not overcooked - its our last night tomorrow and will defo br back here for dinner again - on top of great food the atmosphere is great as is the 80's music - if you come to puerto callero and dont visit pelicano you will definitely be missing out

Great little restaurant with a great menu and lovely staff to serve the great food. Deserves a visit. Hope they do well.

Ich war mit dem Fahrrad aus PDC da. Sehr nette Bedienung und ein sehr schöner Platz für ein Bier.

Sehr leckeres Essen, vor allem die Fischgerichte. Bedienung war sehr freundlich ☺️ Absolute Empfehlung.

Visited Pelicano a few times during a 10-day holiday for lunch, dinner and drinks. Lovely restaurant with a friendly team. Great allergy awareness. Recommended dishes: lamb shoulder w/minted gravy, seabass and prawns, pork belly bites w/bbq sauce, garlic bread and camembert with cranberry sauce.

What an excellent place, such a lovely setting, staff were brilliant and very helpful. I had a cup of tea, which as people may know a good cuppa is hard to find but this was an awesome cuppa. We also had a special from the menu which was new. Talk about amazing food. Really highly recommend this place and can't wait to return (thinking of a Sunday lunch which is supposed to also be amazing)

Puerto Calero is a gorgeous seaside village about an hours walk from PDC. Great place to have a coffee or a light lunch.Visited twice both on market days.Very friendly staff, nice varied menu and excellent reasonably priced food.Highly recommend the garlic prawns and the meatballs, delicious 😋

Top location, friendly service, good music and all this topped by the good food! Breakfast is so yummy and now it's time to try the other dishes.....

Visited this restaurant twice on a recent stay at Puerto Calero. We stopped for coffee and breakfast the first time. Coffee hit the spot, though one coffee was missed, so we had to chase 5 mins later. I did knock mine over, so maybe this flustered the waitress. Though she didn't repeat our order to us to confirm all. The breakfast looked good, I had the wild mushrooms on toast and another had Salmon and Avocado on toast. Mine was good and just what I needed! The 2nd time I dined solo, a quick bite before flight home. Had the pan fried Sea Bass with prawns in a lemon butter sauce. Along with some roast potatoes (it was a Sunday). All very well cooked, sea bass was fresh and tasty, prawns succulent and again fresh. The meal was excellent. Waitress, different from first, again didn't repeat back order. The table also didn't have condiments, napkins so asked for these. The Maitre d' (owner I presume Blonde lady) was attentive and efficient but maybe could warm to customers a bit more perhaps.

The best Calamari ever!!! Called in for a quick drink and a couple of tapas to share - the Calamari was fabulous, really fresh in a light batter. Enjoyed the Cajun chicken strips too, all served with fresh salad veg garnishes and dips. Fabulous location with great views of the harbour.

The club Sandwich was perfect and the salmon and avacodo on toast was delicious. To Caroline, you were the perfect host, from Sony the Brummie. 😃

This was by far the best food and service we had throughout our holiday. Fabulous food-calamari and seabass was the best we have eaten. Every meal we had was delicious and excellent value for money. Service really friendly. The only thing that lets this restaurant down is that the outdoor space looks a little unappealing at night. Not trying to tell anyone how to run their business but feel a few outdoor lights and maybe even a few plants to define the outdoor space would make such a difference as we found it was always the most under populated restaurant in the evening but it's so good it should have been packed. Decor and music is fab, brilliant playlists.

We had the most honest and polite service. We were hungry and were quite indecisive where to have a small bite to eat. The terrace of the Pelicano appealed to us and we decided to have a tapas at a small low table. We were served quickly and friendly. While serving us the waitress had a little accident. She was very attentive. We were not charged anything in the end. The sangria was enjoyed much, the antipasto plate and papas arugadas were a bit less fine. We notice that most things here are aimed at (English) tourists, not quite our thing. Puerto Calero seemed to lack a bit of authenticity. Nevertheless a positive experience.

Had prawns and calamari tapas on recommendation at this ultra chilled pleasant quayside eatery. Hearty, flavourful and delicious food(homemade chips are to die for!). Summery music drifts in and out in the background, as do the helpful, friendly unobtrusive staff. Recommended.

Great place to stop for a bite to eat and a drink. Only had garlic bread (which wasn't on the menu but the staff catered for us) and it was lovely. All the meals I saw brought to other customers looked superb. Staff were friendly and hospitable. The kitchen area was open to see (so not hiding anything).

Preise sind normal, meine Kroketten mit Käse und Schinken waren leider innen kalt und bei den Garnelen hat der Chili gefehlt, waren dadurch leider etwas fad.

Excellent accueil, les plats sont bons, sans grande recherche. Mais les prix sont un peu exagérés et ne se justifient pas.

Disappointing. Having decided to take a last minute Christmas break to Puerto Calero, I'd started looking ahead of arriving for places to eat on Christmas Day (panicking, thinking that they'd all be booked up!). After reading the positive reviews, we chose Pelicano. It was easy to book via WhatsApp, albeit the response was a little curt. I should have taken this as a sign... the meal was average, and at €60 per head, to be honest we'd expected more. We were disappointed with the lack of 'warmth' that we were greeted with and the service throughout. Not once were we wished Merry Christmas or actually thanked when paying the bill for the 5 of us of over €340. It was a lot of money, which we were prepared to pay as we appreciate the staff that are working on Christmas Day, but it just wasn't worth it and was the only disappointment in an otherwise perfect stay at Puerto Calero.

Please be aware: lots of items on the menu are listed GF, even meals with chips. HOWEVER, they have no separate fryer and we were told the chips were NOT gluten free

I always laugh at people’s reviews cause most got no clue what food really is.. hard pass on this one… went for eggs.. I got something that was definitely outside of guidelines of restaurant food and presentation…

God help calero.... please please let somebody with an ounce of talent and hospitality acumen take over this venue that is crying out for success... it is abysmal... I say this with restraint as Google would block my true feelings... head upstairs or further down... this Is desperate...

Kaffee lecker...Bedienung wenig motiviert ...dafür aber eine automatisch eine Servicepauschale für Bedienung in der Rechnung....Danke...ohne mich ..Das will ich ich noch selbst entscheiden koennen

Half of the restaurant was empty but they sent us away because our order value was not high enough. Very arrogant server.

*2024 update* "Went past today and closed...... Give up and let a proper operator bring another good business to calero" To call this place a restaurant is probably the biggest overstatement of Puerto Caleros history. We as a family who visit several times a year, want every business to succeed. However, the "owner" is nothing short of evil... Think Cruela times 10... Staff work hard but she is obnoxious and condecending.... Several times over our visits she was nothing short of a drunken bully... If she sold as much wine as she drinks, the place would be booming... Seen supermarket bags several times from other parts of our lovely puerto calero... . Weird they are so quiet, but i guess they can't afford a supplier minimum delivery .... Its a real shame as the staff seem lovely.... This entity has no idea of customer service or taking care of her team... If visiting the port... Do yourselves a favour and visit somewhere else... Many better offers in the port.

Pues no nos dejaron apenas ni colocar el bolso y nos informaron de que, todavía de día, no nos servían café porque no había más personal (habiendo seis mesas libres en la terraza). Podemos entender algunas razones de organización u ocupación de mesas que puedan estar destinadas a cenas, pero TODAS las mesas que estaban ocupadas en la terraza, sólo tenían algún refresco o cerveza,nada de cenas.. por cierto, "nos mandó" al local de en frente a tomar café,el cual estaba cerrado. Yo también he sido hostelera y le aconsejaría que dejara que la gente se sentara, comenzara por un café/refresco/cerveza y acabe comiendo algún plato de la carta. Una pena, no volveremos para probarlos. Gracias

Un despropósito. No saben español. Y no saben lo que te ofrecen, ni lo que tienen, ni nada!!! FATAL!!! Cuidado con lo que pides: como no sabe español , decide traerte el vino más caro de la carta: 9€ una copa de vino blanco!!!!!!!! Si no eres inglés, NO VAYAS!!! Ah, y yo no he pedido un vino de Lanzarote, yo he pedido un vino blanco, he preguntado de donde era el vino, y como no hablas bien español, no te has enterado de la pregunta y has pensado que hablaba del tipo de vino… primero aprende español y después trabaja de cara al público. No sabes lo que pedido…. No hay más que añadir.

Me parece una vergüenza que alguien venga a montar un negocio en Lanzarote y no sepa ni pedir la comanda en español ni la dueña ni sus empleados. Que falta de respeto.

Me parece algo abusivo cobrar 3,85 euros por un refresco. Obviamente no volveré.
