It was my first visit, and I was immediately impressed — from the beautifully decorated interior to the authentic flavors that made me feel like I was back in Thailand. Must-try dishes: Crispy Fried Pork and Sukhothai Noodles — both were absolutely delicious! They’re open late until 2 AM. Perfect spot for a late-night Thai food fix. I’ll definitely be coming back again.

Just had another fantastic dinner at Sam Muk, this is what I ordered -Hoy Jor -Yum Salmon & Shrimp -Salmon Tom Yum Soup -Dry crab noodles (personally would have gotten the wet ones instead) -Fish dumplings -Durian ice cream The seafood is super fresh, and tasty, pretty close to what I got when I was in Thailand. I just warn they spice level is aggressive here so regular spicy is more like extra spicy so if you want medium I would tell them mild, lolz I am just so shocked how every time I come here the place is basically empty, we just got back from dinner on a Saturday night and there was only 1 other table occupied, doesn't make sense how this place can stay open...Meanwhile Sriprahai was almost full which is ovverrated and going downhill in my opinion... Anyways check it out and support, don't want this spot to close.

Been here multiple times. Food is delicious. Somtum and Thai Salmon sashimi with spicy sauce are the best. And Can’t go wrong with Crab meat fried rice.

Sam Muk @ Roosevelt Ave, NYC If you're craving real Thai vibes, Sam Muk is the spot! Tried the Som Tum Tard E-Sarn — super flavorful, spicy, and packed with all the goodies! Papaya salad, fermented fish, and sides like crispy pork & noodles all on one tray. A little intense if you're not used to E-Sarn style, but sooo good if you are! Also loved their Hoy Jor (crab & pork rolls) and Leng Zap (spicy pork bone soup) — straight-up fire! The place is clean, modern, and the staff is super nice. Great spot to go with friends and share plates! Come hungry & ready for heat!

💎 Love this hidden gem 💎 Amazing authentic Thai fare and the kindest staff. I've eaten here a few times and it's always so so good. High quality seafood options with the perfect amount of spice and flavor. Excellent value for the price. I usually try to keep my favorite spots a secret so they don't get swarmed and impossible to get a table at, but every time I go, they only have a few tables, and I NEED them to stay in business so I can keep eating those fat oysters 🦪 Definitely add it to your must-try Thai list!

Absolutely delicious seafood dishes. The oysters were large and juicy, and the sauces were sharp and fantastic. The salad with fish and sausages was great, even a medium spicy was very spicy but did not stop us from eating it all. The crab noodles were good too, and the only completely non spicy option we got. The frozen coconut shake makes the spicy more bearable. Overall amazing.

Great authentic Thai food. A lot of salads and dishes you don't get elsewhere. The spice level of this place is legit. I usually eat spicy food, but I could barely handle the mild here. The servers will also warn you. Some highlights are the leng zap (pork bone soup), hoy jor, green papaya salad isan style with everything. Durian sticky rice ice cream was ok, could've used 5 mins to defrost more. Definitely worth coming.

I feel the need to check this place out and I’m glad I did! It’s a hidden gem around woodside area. I ordered Som Tum Plara and a “Yum” dish which consists of mixed yummy things (let’s say shrimp, squid, sausages, thai pork loaf or “Moo Yor”, and salted egg yolk), both medium spicy. I could say that these are one of the best Som Tum and Yum I’ve ever had. You could find many restaurants that carry out the delicious “Som Tum” dish. But for the “Yum”, I could say that only Sammuk could offer you the authentic bold flavors like you have in Thailand, even better than most of restaurants in Thailand. I’m a Thai and I know how Thai food should taste like. My husband cannot handle much of the heat so he ordered “Yen Ta Fo” which was also good. We also had coconut ice cream for desserts and ordered “Hoy Jor” for take out. Service was excellent. Server was attentive. The restaurant uses the quality drink and dinner wares. Good vibes with neat decorations.

Sammuk Thai Seafood Restaurant is conveniently located in Woodside Queens. As soon as you walk in, their nautical theme makes you think it’s a crab shack but in fact, it’s an authentic Thai restaurant. Sammuk’s expansive menu is so hard to choose from but luckily their friendly staffs explain in detail of the dishes along with one menu with just pictures. Their cocktails and herb infused vodka are so good I’m now wondering why we should ever go to a bar again. There are two types of Thai herb infused vodka which both relieves pain. 11 Tigers claims to boost your energy and improve blood circulation whereas Pa Ya Suea Khrong claims to increase appetite and makes you look younger. What a bonus. Food is spicy and definitely for the faint-hearted so don’t blame me. You have been warned. Ask their friendly staffs to tone down the spiciness if needed. This authentic Thai hidden gem is much closer than Manhattan with aroma and flavors you’ve never tried. Come experience Sammuk Thai!

A great little spot to get a quick bite or to come eat with your family. I went for late dinner on a Thursday and had a great experience. -Crispy Pork Belly 1000/10 -Mango Salad 1000/10 -Fried Vanilla Ice cream 1000/10 I also had spicy margarita during Happy Hour. It’s great to find a place that has happy hour past 6pm. I will definitely be coming back!

Ambiance and service were great. We ordered a Thai Pink Milk smoothie, Hoy Jor, Crispy Pork, Leng Zap, and Crab Noodle. Nice little Thai spot in Woodside/Jackson Heights serving some very authentic dishes. Hoy Jor - Deep fried pork and crab meat in a tofu skin. Really enjoyed this since it was very tender and packed with a decent amount of crab meat. Dipping sauce was a little sweet and tangy. Crispy Pork - Super crispy, crunchy pork belly. Dipping sauce was salty, tangy/sour. Great appetizer as well. Leng Zap - Pork bone soup. A literal mountain of tender pork spine in a very flavorful soup. We got ours with mild spice and it still had a kick to it so be mindful of Thai spiciness! The soup is very sour and bold in flavor. They give you some plastic gloves to help with pulling apart the meat and there is definitely plenty of meat. Extremely tender and fall of the both. Some parts you have to really dig out but worth it. Feeds 2-3 people for sure. Crab noodle - Noodles with chunks of crab meat, seasoning, peanuts, boy choy, bean sprouts, and a lime. Mix together to get a nice noodle with light crab flavoring, very nice dish as well.

I came here last night with a group of friends and we were blown away by how good the food was. Sammuk is one of those hidden gems in Queens that deserves way more attention. The wait staff were warm, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of from start to finish. The highlight for me was definitely the pork belly — perfectly crispy on the outside, tender inside, and paired with a flavorful Thai dipping sauce that made each bite addictive. We also had the crab fried rice, which came loaded with big, generous chunks of crab meat (no skimping here!) and so much flavor. The crispy crab rolls were another standout — golden, crunchy, and packed with delicious crab filling, served with a light dipping sauce that balanced everything perfectly. Having been to Thailand before, I can honestly say the flavors here are authentic and vibrant, and the quality matches (if not exceeds) what I’ve had there. For the quality of ingredients and portion sizes, the price point is very fair — we ordered heavily on seafood and still felt it was a great deal. If you’re in Queens, you should absolutely make this a go-to spot. And if you’re in Manhattan, it’s worth making the trip out — this is the kind of Thai food you’ll want to come back for. I know I will.

The food here is decent, though a bit on the pricier side compared to other Thai spots. Service is quick, and the dishes come out fast. The standout for me was the shrimp tom yum—packed with flavor and definitely worth trying. The Thai fried rice was pretty good, and the fried calamari was okay, though a little too oily for my taste. The oysters were surprisingly large, which could be a plus depending on your preference. The Thai iced tea was really good, and the drinks overall were solid. Overall, a decent spot,

As authentic as you can get for Thai in NYC. With various local and regional dishes, particularly focused on seafood and hence the pretty nautical decor in the restaurant. Not what you are used to seeing in your typical NYC Thai restaurant. So give up your usual curries and try other sauces and broths mixed with chicken feet, pork bone, big meaty oysters, and crispy noodles. Spice levels are also more traditional, so the medium is still quite spicy, so if you want to play it safe for your taste buds, go for the mild. I can handle some spice, so the medium was perfect. The dipping sauces and the chili paste were flavorful and a tad bit spicy. The Thai iced tea was nice, too, as it was balanced and not too sweet. I recommend you challenge your taste buds to try this more traditional and localized based Thai food! Even bring a Thai friend, and I bet they won't be disappointed.

Here I am at another Instagram hyped place. After shoveling snow on Saturday morning, I was asked to take a ride out to Woodside for some Thai food. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by the waiter and seated. As we browsed through the menu, the Mrs made it clear that we're definitely getting the Leng Zap. As I ordered the Sam Muk's salad, Yum Chicken Feet and the Hoy Jor as an appetizer: 1) Yum Chicken Feet, tender chicken feet swimming in fish sauce, lime juice, sugar, onions, scallions and chili peppers. Each bite of the tender chicken feet was refreshing followed by a kicking spice that'll leave your mouth slowly burning. The heat was quickly cooled off simply sipping the Butterfly Pea Lemonade. 2) The Hoy Jor, which was deep fried in a beancurd wrap filled with pork and crab meat served with plum sauce, recommended by the awesome waiter. 3) The Leng Zap was the star of the meal. Loaded with pork spines bathing in a big bowl of spicy and sour soup. There's no gentle way of approaching this dish. Get some soup in the bowl and use your fingers to remove the yummy pork of the bone and into your bowl of soup before consuming...or eat the meat first and followed with a spoon of spicy and sour soup. I enjoyed the delicious bones where the flavors were embedded into the cracks and nooks of the bone. There were too many dishes to choose from and it'll take a larger party or just us returning a few more times to enjoy the rest of the menu. Sam Muk 's food is tasty and introduced a different flavor to our palates. Do swing by and give it a try!

Great presentation and tasty food. The fish curry was good even though it wasn't what I expected, because it didn't really taste like curry. The service was very friendly and checked in regularly. The nautical decor was surprising, and the K-pop music on the TV was too loud.

I used to come to this restaurant all the time and always enjoyed the food. But after my last visit, I decided I wouldn’t be coming back. We ordered the spicy chicken feet, but it only had a single type of spiciness and the portion was way too small. The fried rice was completely bland, and the noodles, which we ordered medium spicy, were way too spicy and didn’t taste good at all. The rest of the dishes weren’t any better—everything was just bland and lacked flavor. The taste had completely changed .The service wasn’t great before either, but at least it was something I could overlook back then. I hope that in the future, the taste and portion sizes will go back to the way they used to be.

Excellent food. Terrible service. They charged our table of three a service charge of 20% without disclosing it anywhere on the menu or letting us know first. When we asked our server if they charge this to every table, she hesitated and trailed off and didn’t answer. That was a bad sign. Then we reminded her we will tip on our own according to service but she can’t charge us 20% for a party of three without disclosing it anywhere. I don’t mind tipping well for solid service but lack of transparency and what seems like discriminatory tipping policy is a turnoff. It’s a shame because we did like the food.

We were disappointed with the service today. One server repeated our order to confirm, but when the food arrived, it was incorrect (spicy and non-spicy were mixed up). When we asked to correct the order, another staff member simply stirred spicy powder into the dish and returned it to us. The taste was unpleasant, like raw chili powder, and the food felt separated. Properly, the dish should have been remade with seasoning and cooked again in the pan, so it would be clean, hot, and authentic. Also, when we went to pay, the staff member looked at the tip screen, as if expecting us to leave a high tip, despite the poor service. * I requested not to have fish sauce because I’m allergic, and they said they could make it without. But now I’m having an allergic reaction, and I hope it’s not too bad. We enjoyed the restaurant on our first visit, but unfortunately, this second experience makes us not want to return. This is my honest review. Thank you.
