We try a lot of sushi roll here. And we went twice. We are pretty satisfied with their food 🍱 Love it. Will definitely recommend.
I didn’t realize that I live so close to Dono Sushi and haven’t been here before! Came here on New Years Day for dinner and they were very busy! Everyone was very nice and attentive. Although it was busy I really appreciate that our server let us know that it will be a bit of a wait since they were down 2 sushi chefs. The sushi was well worth the wait! We ordered the chino roll, gyoza, baked mussels, & a dinner combo with miso soup. Ugh so good! I’m definitely coming here more often and I’m glad I found my go-to sushi spot. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the mood for some bomb sushi.
5 years ago I came here with my then girlfriend, now wife. Dono Sushi Cafe was the first place I ever had sushi and I'm so glad it was. Great sushi then and the same great sushi now!
Was craving some sushi while in the area and didn't want to our usual spot in Corona. Dono Sushi Cafe is located in a very busy shopping center behind Pot on Fire. Upon entering Dono Sushi Cafe, we were greeted by all the staff. We felt like family. They have AYCE and regular a la carte menu. We chose the AYCE. They have large variety of rolls and appetizers for their AYCE menu. We were very impressed. All the rolls are categorized so you know whether your roll has raw fish or not. I really appreciated this extra step in their menu. Our favorite roll was the Canyon roll, we just could not get enough of it. It is in their Baked roll section. We also enjoyed the baked mussels. I will definitely be coming back to Dono Sushi Cafe.
Visited during lunch time and had the "All you can eat" option. I don't have much to say because the pictures here will do the talking. I do want to stress that the food was extremely fresh and tasted like heaven one piece at a time. DELISH! The staff was very friendly and helpful with making selections.
Decent sushi spot. Sushi and Sashimi was delicious and fresh. Definitely will be back when I’m in the area.
This place is amazing. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and the lady pulled out my chair for me to sit. I asked for teriyaki sauce and she had no problem making it for me. While I was waiting she served me soup, since I was ordering out, she put the soup in a to-go bowl for me. Everything was great. I also like how the rainbow roll (what I always get) taste fresh and never watery or juicy, just fresh. Also I like how hey utilize Uber eats. If I am working I can have it delivered to my place of work with Uber eats. Everything is nice in the bag. Over all great place!
This was a small restaurant but with big flavor.. Sushi rolls are excellent.. The iced green tea was yum.. Service was excellent.. Definitely comin back!
I have been coming here for years. Great quality sushi and a nice atmosphere. Albert the sushi chef is great. Would highly recommend Dono Sushi.
Amazing food. Great service. Fresh as can be. All you can eat. Done.
We came here for my Birthday! The food was so fresh and super quick service.

Amazing food. Great service. Fresh as can be. All you can eat. Done.
We came here for my Birthday! The food was so fresh and super quick service.
Ordered a takeout, salmon sushi was pretty fresh, mackerel was seasoned with vinegar, perfect for a light dinner, will visit again to dine-in!
Karla, was professional and friendly, explained my sushi plate as I am not your regular sushi client, great place .
OMG!! If you love fresh tasting sushi or the best tasting baked mussels. You have to eat here. I drive from Corona.
Definately I had awesome dinner at all. Super kind staff and sushi was good. 👍
They are now offering happy hour on weekends from 3 until closing. No all you can eat.
This place is amazing! It has great service, and the food is beyond good! You have to try it!
I work right by this place! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! FROM SERVICES TO FOOD!....The atmosphere is great.....Even the prices and portions are great.
We were there for all you can eat before the pandemic, It was good. Today I was for to go , also good .
I highly recommend there sushi rolls I got the American roll which was baked And tempura roll An i also got a fresh roll i don’t remember the name
I thought it was fresh and yummy...just had a california roll, but I would go back for others!
First time at Dono Sushi Cafe. Delicious! Friendly service. Will be back. Regina V./Chino, CA
The happy hour is an amazing deal and you can get macaron ice cream sandwiches
They have great sushi. The rolls are a good price and the salmon is off the chain
Fish quality was great! Service on point. And the friendliness of the staff was top notch.
Hadn't been there in a year. There is a new owner and they "remodeled" good is still ok.
Wonderful, fresh , all you can eat prime sushi. Best in town
Nice cozy place with excellent sushi and customer service. Even when it is bus and hectic, the employees are calm and kind. For my first time there, I really loved the red dragon roll and spicy tuna sushi.
I've been here three times in the last year and honestly it's a great place. Cute little restaurant that serves good quality sushi and service! It's a hidden gem in the plaza it's located in.
I always enjoy the fresh sashimi, sushi, a variety of rolls, seaweed salad and miso soup. Sometimes indulging in appetizers and green tea ice cream. The service is always pleasant and accommodating. I appreciate their commitment to serving quality food.
This place is absolutely the best sushi I have had in the LA IE area. So friendly and the Seattle Roll is a must try! Very fresh!
Great sushi! Great atmosphere. Really like the Mike's special roll! I could probably eat 3 of them. The staff very good.
Been here several times. Food is great. Service is friendly & not overbearing. There are other Sushi places closer to my home, but I go out of my way to eat here...
Dono Cafe i found to be the best Sushi bar in Chino. At the bar you will find Albert (aka... ASIAN RED NECK) and Mike which are the bread winners of the place and make sure you say ho to Sam the owner.
Dono Sushi Cafe is my go to spot when I’m in Chino! My fiancé and I are regulars here because not only is the food great and affordable, the staff is amazing and friendly! We alternate between doing A.Y.C.E. (on our cheat days) and ordering the Dono Special Box or the Combination Box. You definitely get a bang for your buck! Don’t sleep on the Chirashi Sushi and the hand rolls either! My personal favorites are the Crunch Tiger hand roll and the Salmon hand roll. Definitely give this place a try!
2 handcut rolls - tuna & salmon skin (crispy). 2 handrolls - salmon skin (crispy) & Calif Roll. Miso soup & salad Great lunch for my wife & me! Most enjoyable!
Their sushi is SO good. And their alcohol is cheap during happy hour, so go! If you do all you can eat, udon isn't included.
Great food with big portions, they are super attentive and friendly.
Love this sushi place. The sushi is very fresh and the service is on point. There are a lot of options and they accommodate food allergy customers.
Always great Sushi. Look for Albert. He's been there forever. Always takes care of you. The Salmon Collar is exceptional.
Uber eated my food which was the dono special combination. Absolutely wonderful. I loved it. A huge portion for post gym work out. I recommend you to take everyone you know here.
My wife and I really enjoy this place. The rolls and sushi are amazing. The staff are awsome. Albert and Mike are always friendly .
By far the best sushi in Chino. I’m so glad that we stopped by to eat here. A must try you will not be disappointed.
Portions were great fish tasted fresh fast service friendly staff new sushi spot for sure
This place is my new favorite. The staff is friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the food is terrific. Two thumbs up!
Solely based on the quality and taste of the Sushi: was excellent, nice size and proportioned, not too much rice. As for service not so good.
Delicious, fresh and huge portions! There was nobody here at lunch time and I was surprised… So good and fantastic lunch specials. Definitely worth visiting!
This was our first time at this sushi restaurant. The food here is amazing, and the service was outstanding. I started off with a spicy tuna hand roll. That is how I judge a sushi restaurant. The tuna hand roll was excellent. We had the Seattle roll and the volcano roll. Both were extremely good. I usually don’t like sake but we tried the warm sake and I actually liked it. At this restaurant I would order again. Our meal was topped off with a special salmon tuna and avocado rose that the chef made us. We are always on the hunt for a good sushi restaurant and Dono sushi is definitely on the top of our list now. Highly recommend.
For about thirteen years, my family and I lived about ten minutes away from Dono Sushi. The food is delicious. The service is good. We had a lot of meals there to celebrate birthdays, special occasions, or just the end of the week. Highly recommended!
I've been coming here for 10 years now. The employees and sushi chefs are friendly, the sushi rolls are amazing, the restaurant is always clean, and the seats at the sushi bar are super comfortable. I highly recommend the Grand roll and the Hawaiian roll. I'm normally not a fan of the Philly roll at most places, but their's is really good.
We have been eating there for almost 15 years. The sushi is always fresh and delicious. Miso soup is the best! Very inexpensive. Happy hour is dine in only from 3pm to 6pm half off rolls. They also have all you can eat.
Fantastic sushi spot! Courteous staff, rolls are delish, and they serve alcohol! If you're into normal rolls and stuff, they got it. But the specialty rolls... WOW! Come here for that. Perfect dishes for all sushi lovers of all types. Want raw? Cool. Want fried? COOL. Don't want sushi and wan to eat noodles? Well my friend, they also got that!
One of my favorite sushi place. Love the happy hour. I get to eat sushi and sashimi as much as I could at a cheaper cost. Ambience is great. Not much of a wait when it gets busy. Great customer service, fresh ingredients, serving size just right. Cheaper than its competition, but doesn't sacrifice taste, serving size and service. Highly recommended.
The waitress is always so friendly and even though we go there only once in a while when we drive through chino hills, she remembers us. The food is always fresh and delicious. Their portions are very generous, and their sushi and sashimi are just outstanding. They have happy hour daily but we're usually too late for it. This place is an all around good japanease restaurant.
Bomb!!! Came here with a party of 13 (knowing we would be a hot mess) the service was 100/100!!! Everything was perfect and it ran so smoothly. With a big family things tend to be a hot mess and mistakes are make but bravo Dono and their team! New favorite place 😋
They have pretty good sushi here for a fair price. All you can eat is definitely worth it. Staff is really kind and friendly. Been here a couple times and we'll definitely be coming back!! Thank you Dono Sushi Cafe 😋👌
My favorite sushi place!
nt out of our way from where we live in Walnut to explore a new place and I can honestly say we couldn't have chosen better. Staff was very friendly and accommodating the sushi was some of the freshest I've had in a while. The Salmon was buttery, and the yellowtail melted in my mouth. Tempura, miso and rolls were awesome! Overall the experience was well worth the travel. Everything was super fresh. Definitely would recommend this place. 👍
Personally love how close it is to my job. The staff is very friendly and have a welcoming attitude. The food is phenomenal, if you want a nice place to go for a sushi date, here's your best bet!
Dono is our family's "go to" spot for sushi! Nothing too exotic, but the food yummy and service is always friendly and efficient. Great job guys for understanding that very basic concept; good service counts 👍
I've only been once but I'm already planning on going back. Ice tea is a bit earthy but if you like Udon Tea you'll enjoy this tea too.
Best sushi in Chino Hills hands down. The fish is always very fresh. The yellow tail sashimi is my favorite followed by the autumn roll. The staff is incredibly friendly and remembers my wife and I by name :)
Go-to spot for our family for sushi, sashimi, rolls, tempura and bento meals👍 Always yummy and satisfying, prices are very reasonable and portions are generous! Thanks Nicki for the friendly and prompt service 😁
I have been coming to this restaurant on and off for many many years. Having moved to Hawaii I haven't gone in a few years. I was so happy that they are still in business. I was visiting family in Pomona and stopped by for dinner on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was packed but we were able to get seating fairly quickly. We all ordered the same item which is the salmon roll. It was delicious and tasted fresh. I could have eaten 2 plates of it. I tried the yakisoba but was way too sweet for my liking. In Hawaii we eat it more savory. We were also given miso soup which was extremely appreciated considering it was a cool evening. service was great and prompt. I will definitely be returning when I am visiting family again.
I've been coming to Dono Shushi for years. While there have been many changes, the good food and friendly staff has remained consistent. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the prices. I understand businesses require price adjustments for all different reasons, but this affects consumers as well. The trick is to know where to look, and if you look Dono's menu closely, you'll find they have a happy hour section! So if your on a budget, but find yourself hankering for some sushi, drop by Dono between 3pm to 5pm. The happy hour menu selection is small, but can help keep some of the cost down.
My husband's favorite sushi place from high school. The last time I came was 2 years ago, the quality of food has gone down a bit and the presentation is not as delicate as before. I'm sure it's still a gem to the people of Chino Hills. But there are much better options else where.
Came in for a quick bite at the bar. Ordered hamachi, ikura, uni, and spicy scallop. All items were good, but the hamachi was my favorite tonight. The two sushi chefs were extremely nice, friendly and fast. Until next time!
Good atmosphere, fresh food. Worth the drive. Portions are very generous !
Great service and sushi! It was nice and fresh. The chefs really know great sushi!

Staff is nice, all you can eat buffet is a deal if you can obviously eat all that sushi - YOU CANNOT share with others -. Fast service - We didn't wait to be seated and served. The server was very nice and she came to refresh drinks and check if we needed something else. The Atmosphere is very relaxed...

Great service and sushi! It was nice and fresh. The chefs really know great sushi!
I'm biased from living in Japan for over a year. Dono Sushi is the best in Chino. Its also very close to where I work so it's convenient too.
This is a very good little place been there for over a decade. Really good effort make good food and good service give it a try.
Dono Special Box is great! Sashimi is thick-cut!
Nice place. We were looking for a new ayce sushi and tried this one. I wish they included shrimp tempura with the ayce sushi and there service is not the best (if you sit outside they forget about you), but their rolls are good. Love the sushi burrito!
This place is always delicious. Variety of rolled and sides plus Happy Hour is a must with specials on premium rolls and half of sake.
Have been going here for years. Still good food flavors. Fresh tastes. Staff are polite and helpful. Will continue enjoying food here.
Even with the understanding that AYCE sushi restaurants usually serve poorer quality food, I still gave Dono a chance due to their enticing Dono Special Box. For $18 dinner price ($15 lunch), you get 5 pieces of sashimi, 2 pieces nigiri, 5 pieces tempura, a "full" crunch roll, small salad, and miso soup. Before I dive in to detail about the food, I want to describe the atmosphere. From the parking lot, SUSHI CAFE restaurant sign confuses you and forces you to look at the windows to confirm this is Dono. For Friday night prime time, there was no wait but the medium-sized (50 customers) restaurant was near full capacity of customers - I believe this to be the perfect balance of business for a casual restaurant. Our party of two was quickly seated in a 4-seater. I actually have to mention the chairs which were stylish and comfortable with clean plump cushioning. Upon sitting down, I realize the lighting is just way too bright - as if the restaurant is screaming transparency as its main priority, lighting up all dark corners. This is a huge negative as attention is drawn away from the food and people you came with, and spotlights the lack of restaurant decoration and the dining experience of other people. 2 stars on atmosphere. Back to the Dono box. It came well presented as expected from a Japanese sushi restaurant Sashimi was sliced on the thicker side: 3pc salmon was fatty but inorganically plump, 2pc tuna stood out with above average taste for casual sushi. 1 shrimp and 1 salmon nigiri were average. Tempura well fried but batter is way too thick in flour. The "full" crunch roll smaller than your average roll, interestingly cut to resemble what I believe to be a shrimp - thick head slice with small sections and ending with a thick end piece cut. Visually appealing but proved to be impractical as the smaller pieces fell apart when picked up. Salad was refreshing. Average soup came hot and foremost upon sitting down. 4 stars. Almost forgot about the caterpillar roll. Beautifully arranged with thinly sliced avocado on top and decent amount of unagi inside. 4.5 stars; beautiful but not the best. Service was prompt. 4 stars. Food and drinks ordered and served timely. No further drink was offered after quickly finishing one shared large better. Bill came timely. Will be prioritizing trying other local sushi over coming back. That being said, this would be an excellent lunch spot as the major downfall of bad lighting would be forgotten in the day.

Been there several times with my wife, but never for the ayce sushi until this past weekend. It wasnt the best ,
The food was good. Eel was especially good. I did find a bone in the salmon sushi tho...
Ordered the dinners and apparently take out dinners dont come with the soup or rice- spend a lot of money on warm sushi and a lil bit of salad
We arrived at 445 sat down at 455 noticed the happy hour menu. Asked if we could still order on the happy hour menu. Was told yes. The waitress left for 10 min we ordered and she said it was past 5 and could not have happy hour. They should have honored the happy hour especially since we were told it was available.
I had heard it was good so when in rome..... it happened to be happy hour so that was cool.. there were a few patrons but got sat pretty quickly. Itvwas clean and organized. I was also tended to right away.. I ordered a miso soup, seaweed salad, 3 different types of rolls and a drink. Im not a sushi conosure but I have had better to be honest. Something was off and well, it seemed a bit bland. There are like 3 or 4 other places I've tried in the chino hills area that were better tasting. Sorry but maybe it was an off day for the crew preparing the rolls. It was just not meant for me. Maybe others will enjoy it more.
Went for a way early dinner, place was not full nor half way. Service took a while, appetizers was served after we got our food. Sushi roll that was harder to make was delivered before Udon, when udon was way easier to make as well as a bento box with fried things. Check came, usually that's picked up faster than everything else, even that took a while. We just wanted to leave. First and last time here. Food was okay, not the best but certainly not the worst sushi I have had. Guess its attention to detail.
Service was fast and very friendly. Food was not good. The salmon didn't taste right. I threw a whole roll away.
The owner wanted to charge our 2 yr old $14.99 just for being in the same table as us ordering all you can eat. Definitely have many more choices for sushi in Chino hills.
The seating arrangement was not very good, small dinning area. California/ sushi rolls were ordinary. The sesame chicken was terrible it was a weird chicken nugget looking pieces of fired chicken that we're breaded very bland and not what i was expecting asked if i could get something else on menu they did not like that and said no. I did not eat anything on my plate did not even touch it, Absolutely was not appetizing i would have been better off going to McDonald's and orderig some chicken Mcnuggets for alot cheaper. I Paid 130 dollars did not eat most of my meal just the meso soup. Fist time here and last. Huge mistake. Just my experience, food was not very good for what you pay.
Horrible service. Took forever to even be acknowledged. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt then they didn't even bring me what I ordered. Now who knows how long I will have to wait for what I actually wanted.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! Food is gross the mussells are rubbery and has artificial crab on the bottom of them sushi took forever to bring out and the sushi was just rice barely any fish do not go here i am warning you you will get sick!
Way too salty, and they charge $15 for kids under 7. My 2 year old almost had to pay that amount. Kinda ridiculous. But I'll have to say sushi quality is decent.
I can't believe how they have 4.4 star reviews. Their tonkotsu ramen smells so bad and you will lose appetite instantly. All of the shrimp tempura in the rolls were too old that they were soggy and smells like oil from 3 days ago. Never going back.
Apparently there is a new owner and a very rude white girl at the cashier that ha no manners and I saw pocketing extra money. Going down hill fast no longer friendly customer service hiring poor mannered and rude employees will make this business go down hill very quick. Girl should be fired for her attitude towards customers.
This WAS a good sushi restaurant( under new management)to go but i should've paid attention to the health score "B" but I'm always willing to give a try. My partner and I went there for dinner. Welcoming was great. We ordered our food and it come out promptly. As we were enjoying our food my partner was chewing her sushi and felt a different texture. She pulled out a long strand of blonde hair from her mouth. We're not blondes. I looked around and noticed one of our waitress had two flowing ponytails with blonde streaks. She was the waitress who took our order and brought us water. Her hair weren't in a net or in a bond. I immediately got her attention and advised her my partner pulled strand of hair out of her mouth from drinking the water. She offered to make a fresh sushi roll. We didn't accept the offer. At this time our appetite was disturbed. We waited for the bill only to get charged the full price. I brought it to the other host's attention. She said "That hair can't come from here. No one here has blonde hair " I advised her the other waitress has blonde streaks in hair. She wouldn't accommodate. To prevent further trouble with this lady we paid for our food dissatisfaction. I didn't leave a tip. This use to be the best sushi spot to come to. I WILL NEVER RETURN THERE AGAIN. THEY LOST A VALUED CUSTOMER. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎See photo. Health score should drop to "F"
We went to Dono Sushi today and the service was the worst we have ever experienced at a restaurant. It is no exaggeration. Our food server today was so rude and offensive that we left before our meals were served. We have been dining at this restaurant for over 20 years. Due to our experience with this server, we will never again spend our hard earned money at this establishment. The owners should be aware that an employee like this can cause huge damage to your business! We've always loved our experiences here since our grown daughters were children. So Sad and disappointing what happened today.
