Bartenders were just fantastic! Incredibly friendly and easy to chat with. They were so sweet helping me with what I feel can be complicated drink orders but they acted like it was no big deal. They helped me pick out some pizza toppings and I was not disappointed. Highly recommended!

I had a great experience at Madhatter in Richardson! The food was absolutely delicious—everything came out hot, fresh, and surprisingly fast. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and a pretzel, and both were super tasty and satisfying. Our server Shay (I believe that was her name—she had really cool black and white hair!) was amazing. Super attentive and friendly. After her shift ended, another server took over—Kenna—and she was just as awesome. Both made us feel well taken care of, and I’d be happy to have either of them as our server again. The only hiccup was with the happy hour specials. According to the website, the Philly cheesesteak was part of the daily special, but I was charged full price. When I asked about it, I was told the website is outdated by about three months. That was a bit disappointing and misleading, so I’d love to see more clarity or updated info online. That said, I’ll definitely be back. Great vibes, great food, and great service!

I could not be happier in finding this place. My inlaws live in Richardson, so we visit regularly. We ended up coming here for a date night away from the little one (after she went to sleep). And it was one of the best decisions ever. The staff is incredibly friendly. The food is delicious. The atmosphere was so chill. We got the fried chicken sandwich and the sloppy joe. The fried chicken sandwich is one of the best we have tried. The sloppy joe bought back so many memories from my childhood. It was insane. And the brioche buns??!?!?!?!!? I didn't know it was possible to eat a fluffy pillow with the perfect amount of crustification. This is about to be a regular spot when we are in Richardson. Looking forward to coming back already!

6/16/23: This bar opened on 5/25/25 at Cityline. We called and spoke to Rain to better understand where the bar was located. She was super friendly and pleasant. We were not disappointed when we arrived. There were plenty of TVs around and the bar was pretty clean. The staff looked like they enjoyed working there. We sat at the bar and met Tyler. He was pretty awesome! We met Rain, and she was very nice. Aidan was cool too! We had a burger and the turkey platter. The homemade fries were pretty good, crunchy like kettle chips. Very nice atmosphere. Tyler was a great conversationalist and we watched him prepare drinks with ease. He always engaged with the customers, and he made it a fun outing for us. Will definitely return!

Ive yet to experience it myself, so I can’t review, but at 12 am a very dedicated ambassador of the establishment appeared on my Ring camera to personally request a 5-star rating. Honestly, that’s the kind of customer outreach you just don’t see anymore. So here it is, five shining stars for the bar downstairs. The drinks must be strong, the vibes must be immaculate, and the commitment to marketing is unmatched.

All I can say is the fried cheese is the BOMB. The beer was the perfect temp and the chocolate martini was very good. The chicken strips were good but over cooked, but the sweet potato fries were very good.

Forget the Cheshire Cat, the real magic at The Mad Hatter is Lindsay behind the bar. I ordered a Fireball from her and watched in awe as she performed what can only be described as alchemy. She didn't just pour it; she tamed it, blessed it, and sent it on a mission to erase my Tuesday. The result was less of a shot and more of a religious experience—if your religion involves liquid cinnamon and poor life choices. I’ve had Fireball before, but Lindsay’s version comes with a side of witty banter that is just as potent. Five stars. Would gladly let her set my soul (and throat) gently ablaze again.

They need to staff this place better as there was only one employee who worked the entire bar the whole time we were there! She was busting her tail off. You would think they would staff this place better, I felt sorry for this young lady, but she kicked BUTT. Shay is Absolutely amazing. Bottom line, food and drinks were awesome, but need more staffing.

Great little dive-ish bar. Good daily specials, good bar food, fun guests, and great service. Stop by for a good pint or bottle beer! Plenty of variety on liquor too.

Extraordinarily hard working bar staff. Really try hard to stay out of the weeds. It was pretty impressive as I go to many places where the bar staff just throw in the towel when it gets a little busy and grind along. This crew was turning’ and burnin’. That makes all the difference to me. Food was standard bar fare. Perfect while drinking but nothing super special. Drink selection very good. Atmosphere was decent with a mix of blue collar blokes after work, good share of “regulars” and a steady stream of college kids.

Definitely a hidden gem! Great atmosphere, awesome vibes, and Eli was the perfect bartender! Gave great recommendations to my friend and I as it was our first time and our drinks were excellent! Can’t wait to go back!

She was busting her tail and struggled to keep up, but everyone was patient and supportive. Ordered some fried pickles and jalapeños which was skimpy on the portion size. Prices for the drinks were reasonable as was the Golden Tee machine.

Great spot with local beers on tap. Outdoor seating so it's dog friendly. The Monday hamburger special is a great deal and the burger was really good. I had a slice of pizza as well. It has a thin crust and tasted good. They also had gluten free buns for the burgers.

I never knew the Mad Hatter Neighborhood Pub of Richardson, TX was RACIST! As an African American man who lives near by, I walked in at 01:49am and I was told by the bartender that he was no longer serving drinks as it was after last call. Before I could make it off of the patio, a non-African American couple walked in at 01:55 and were sold two shots and two beers after last call. I’m trying to figure out what changed in a matter of minutes. How can I contact the corporate office of this establishment? I wonder if the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is aware of sales being made after the “cut off time”! I’ll find out first thing in the morning!

I’ve gotten really bad service from this place multiple times. No longer trying to make this our local stop. Tonight, we got completely forgotten about from the waitress, and the old guy in the red shirt is insanely rude. When he asked me if I wanted anything I said “no, just a miller light.” He understood that I only wanted a beer, but he chose to just stand there, staring at me for 30 seconds. After what felt like an eternity of him just staring at me (in silence), I said “yes…?”, which he then replied “soo no food????”. Is that guy okay? I really hope that’s not the owner. This place is very unwelcoming.
